Three stars for the great happy hour prices and the decent drinks and apps. Sadly, zero stars for the service. This is a seat yourself, place your order online and someone brings your order to you kind of place. We came here for happy hour after work and since none of us had been before, we weren't sure how the place operated. When we asked for water, the server rolled their eyes and went to get some for us. We later realized it was a get your own water kind of place. A better approach would've been a polite explanation that water is self-service. Another server slammed our order down on the table and walked away without a word. Maybe we just went on a bad day but this is definitely not the kind of service I'd expect anywhere. New favorite Happy Hour spot in SF. Some of the cheapest drinks and eats, I swear. The place was packed but the outside seating saved us. The guy inside helped us out. Ive stopped by the Afterwork bar a few times, its a great place to grab happy hour with colleagues, to come by for their trivia nights, or just to hang out and enjoy a drink! The last time I stopped by, we had a happy hour with some of our work colleagues and grabbed a table outside. The service was quick, placed the items with the QR code, and the server came out swiftly with the drinks to us! We also ordered a few appetizers to share such as the nachos, fries, and tots! We came here for trivia on a Wednesday evening and ordered 2 pitchers for four people. We also got the corn nibs (pretty good) fries with 3 sauces (also good) and curly fries (underwhelming but about what you'd expect - greasy and not too many perfectly curly ones). It looks like they partner up with local fast food spots to offer fries, super duper burgers, and fried chicken sandwiches. Would rate it 5/5 for margaritas at a great price, but 3.5 for greasy bar food. Service is good, though you order with a QR code so I mostly spoke with staff to request water or bussing. Perfect place to go for happy hour after a day of working. The happy hour specials were perfect and exactly what we wanted: a pitcher of mango margarita and potatoes in all the ways. We order loaded fries, regular fries, tater tots, and loaded tots. By the end we were stuffed...and there can be never too much fried potatoes. Service was great. Hi Sammier! Thank you for responding. I actually went to the cashier and ordered there first, but when I placed my order they asked if I was just ordering drinks. I said yes, and they told me if that was the case then I should go through the restaurant and order at the bar. I walked to the back and placed the same order at the bar that I did at the register. The prices should be the same in both places if that's the case. Please make sure your staff are clear and upfront about the pricing difference in the future. The spaces are connected so it isn't clear that they're sending customers to an area with a different menu and pricing system. read more

Inappropriate, dangerous, and unprofessional management. On 1/23/2026 A group of friends and I were sitting outside when we witnessed on patron repeatedly striking another man who appeared unconscious or severely intoxicated. I went inside to alert staff. Both bartenders laughed and said these two individuals engage in this behavior "all the time". A manager was notified, laughed, and offered the same response, explaining that the individuals were regulars. Despite raising clear safety concerns, no action was taken. When I returned outside, the assault was ongoing and the individual remained unresponsive. Shortly after, a friend identified the situation as a possible overdose. We administered Narcan and called 911. The individual required two doses; AWB did not have any Narcan available. Fortunately, we were able to obtain an additional dose from a nearby bar and get the person emergency medical care. Throughout the incident, management and staff failed to intervene or assist. Afterward, when I suggested that teh bar carry Narcan and expressed concern about the staff's initial reaction, the manager angrily responded "that is none of our business". These individuals were seated at AWB's bar. This was a medical emergency and a safety issue, and it should have been treated as such. I am posting this so upper management is aware of how this was handled. Multiple patrons witnessed the incident. read more

The two times I've been to Afterwork Bar was later in the night when I needed a quick pick me up. It's such an easy place to go to if you're out and about in Hayes Valley due to expansive outside seating (that is also heated) and that fact that you can order everything from a QR code at your table, meaning that you don't have to wait too long for a server, and the food comes pretty quick thereafter. Afterwork bar is also home to one of the most underrated deals in the city, the small biscuit chicken sandwich with a side of tots. The biscuit is a regular size and stuffed with a hardy piece of fried chicken and a delicious sauce. As someone with a smaller appetite, this is the perfect quick hardy dinner or post-going out snack/meal. Even my fiancé who has a larger appetite than me was totally satisfied by one, and the best part is that it's only $7. Definitely one of the best deals in San Francisco. read more

It's kinda nuts as this place is a mix of sports bar and hangout spot with a chicken shop attached to it. That said, it's a nice place to pop in or sit outside and have a beverage and a snack. Came here to watch the NFL season kickoff, great bar with lots of TVs, good prices for drinks and friendly staff. The service was fast and plenty of seating in the back. We came with a pretty big group and got seated quickly even tho other bars were full. We ordered chicken sandwiches and garlic fries from the bird and they obv did not disappoint! I thought that I can handle spicy foods, but the spicy chicken sandwich has got a major kick to it, and the garlic fries saved me a few times. If you're not a hardcore spicy food eater then stick to the normal chicken sando. Side note: the QR code for the menu wasn't working for us and so we just ordered whatever came to mind, eg a bunch of chicken sandwiches and fries. We would have definitely ordered much more or different foods, but when we asked our server for suggestions he didn't seem to know the menu. We had no idea there was wings, loaded tater tots, a much more extended food menu until later on after we left and the website/QR code finally worked. AWB is a convienent spot to meet up in Hayes Valley. They had a wide selection of beers on tap. I wasn't a big fan of the ordering system here. They have QR codes that you can open and close tabs with. I ordered online, and a friend who is a regular warned me that they may take a while to bring my drink out. It took me about 20-25 minutes to get my drinks that I ordered. It doesn't sound like a system that is working well with a regular advising against doing the QR ordering and then being right about it. Another thing I saw was a mouse crawling around near the back. Obviously those things are hard to control with how SF can be, however it didn't add to a not so great experience my first time here. Maybe next time! read more

I live nearby and have walked by this place a few times but had never had a chance to sit down and try out their menu items. Last Friday I finally had that chance and I'm happy to say I've found a new local spot to grab a bite and drink at! My friend and I got to Afterwork Bar around 1:30pm and there was a ton of outdoor seating and TVs with the games on. Inside there was also ample seating and even more tv's however it was slightly more packed in there. We opted to sit outside for the fresh air and there was a QR code on the napkin dispenser which directed us to their online ordering system/menu. Ordering was super easy and a staff member, Juan, came out to give us waters and walked us through the online ordering process. While he was able to take our order, we opted to try out their online ordering system to see how accurate they got our order. Our drinks came out first and the dry apple cider was delicious! We ordered tater tots, hot wings, fried cauliflower to share. The fried cauliflower had great seasoning and paired with the sauce was amazing! The tater tots were also great because who doesn't like tater tots?! The hots wings were my favorite, I like how they had the perfect sauce to wing ratio. Typically other places either put too much sauce or not enough. Not pictured was my friends veggie burger and my single patty burger. My friend stated their veggie burger was one of the best they've had but wished there was a tad bit more hummus on it. She said the veggie patty had lots of flavor and loved the cucumbers. I had a single patty burger and opted to add-on bacon. It was a delicious, juicy burger topped with just the right amount of sauce and toppings! If you're looking for a good spot to watch any games in Hayes Valley then I highly recommend you check out Afterwork Bar! They have a great happy hour menu with food and drink deals. FYI their happy hour is Monday to Friday 4-6pm. Overall the staff was very friendly and attentive, they checked in on us periodically to make sure we were doing ok. I was initially confused since there isn't a Super Duper nearby but they told us they share a kitchen. The cocktails were also really tasty. Got the Blackberry Smash and Yuzu 75 and both were good.
