After my son's open water swim workout he needed a filling meal. We looked on Yelp and found a new place, Wilder. The restaurant was empty except for a couple of souls at the bar. We scanned the menu and I found an item FinnCinerator couldn't resist: Captain Crunch pancakes! He added a side of crisp bacon (I stole half a rasher, it was perfect). I ordered traditional Eggs Benedict with steamed spinach (like Florentine but with ham as well). It was delicious, eggs just set with liquid gold yolks. Bloody Mary was as promised: Spicy with a piquant salt ring. Service could have been a wee bit more attentive, I was flagging down the server for a steak knife for my eggs Bene and salt & pepper. All in all great brunch, would come again. read more

One of the worst service and ambiance experiences I have had in my life. My daughter and I arrive about 2pm on Sunday Sept 27. I ask the hostess if they are still serving brunch, and says "Yes", and directs us to a 2-top. There is only one other occupied table in the entire restaurant. Fifteen minutes go by and not a single staff person has come to the table, left water, asked if we wanted something to drink, or take our order. I stand to see over the frosted-glass partition and see a couple of staff members(in black shirts) talking to a non-customer who had walked in with 2 large dogs, as if they were chatting in someone's garage, not in a working restaurant. I tell the staff member with dirty hair tucked under a baseball cap that we are ready to order, and he says "Your server isn't here{where is she, because there is only 1 other table?}, but I will take your order." We give him the order, he puts it in to the kitchen, then he returns to talking to the other staff member and non-customer with 2 large dogs. I go to the restroom and now the staff members, the non-customer, his dogs, and their leashes are blocking the path to the restroom, so while I am waiting for them to clear the path, one of the dogs approaches me and starts smelling my crotch, which I didn't ask for, nor was willing to tolerate in a restaurant. On my return to the table, I now see that someone has placed dog biscuits on the floor and the dogs are eating and the dog biscuits off the floor of the restaurant!!! Disgusting!!! I now return to the table and, shortly after, the actual waitress makes an appearance with our food, but the breakfast sandwich my daughter ordered was so tall, it could not have possibly been eaten hand-held, and the butter knife included in the cutlery set would not have been able to penetrate that thickness. So, now my daughter has to stand and go through the phalanx of dogs to ask for a sharper knife so she can cut her sandwich in half. It was as if serving the paying customers was an interruption and inconvenience to socializing with the dog owner. Not a good look for any business, but the fact that non-service animal dogs were in the interior of a restaurant is a violation of California food code and common consideration. As for ambiance, they had loud dance music playing on the sound system, as if it were a nightclub on a Saturday night, not a brunch place on a mellow Sunday afternoon. To add insult to injury, the bill tacked on a mysterious yet mandatory 5.25% "hospitality fee" after sales tax. Where was the hospitality to earn that 5.25%? Out of objection, I deducted that 5.25% fee from the already-low tip that I left as a statement for the horrible service. Restaurant management needs to decide if they want to run a business that is in compliance with health codes, or a social club for their employees and local dog-owning non-customers. Update 9/29: reported health violation to SF Dept of Public Health. Enjoy the yellow card! read more

I don't normally like cauliflower. But now I do! So many delicious flavors and the right amount of saucey sauce. And we also got the Cajun coconut curry , which we will try to replicate at home. Just soooo good! Server was friendly..nice choices of inside/outside. read more

Wilder was amazing! They were packed on a Saturday afternoon but still made room for us, and our food came out incredibly quickly for being so packed. Our server was SO great and made sure we had everything we needed. The portion sizes were perfect for the price. They also have gluten free options, but not many. The inside is so pretty, and the outside gives you a great view of the Marina district! Definitely a good place to go for brunch when visiting SF! read more

Cute spot for drinks! Came here before my work holiday party on a Thursday night and was seated right away. I'm a sucker for themed menus and Wilder has a Christmas themed drink menu so of course I had to give it a try! Their potato wedges are also a yummy app to snack on. Came here for a quick drink and app before diner, so this review is mostly based on the espresso martinis - which while are plentiful in the city, not all are good. Luckily the tinis here did not disappoint! They were heavy on the coffee with a slight sweetness that wasn't overpowering at all, the perfect tini in my book. We came on a Tuesday night, which happened to have happy hour all night and oyster specials at $2/per. We got a round of oysters for the table, and they were a big hit. I've just started to enjoy oysters and while I don't always like them, these ones I did! Would come back again for a tini and to try some of their other cocktails! read more

When you're first stop is at Wilder, you know you're in for a good night. Came in with a crew for espresso martinis and light apps. We were rolling deep with 9 of us, so luckily we were able to reserve a table for all of us ahead of time. I love an espresso martini and they really know how to do it up here! Topped with gold dusted espresso beans and the perfect amount of depth and sweetness. I flew into San Fran earlier this day and the caffeine boost was exactly what I needed to start off the night strong. For bites we got the baked goat cheese and oysters. These bites were definitely made to share -- it was so easy to put the plates in the middle of the table and have everyone grab what they wanted. I'm still getting over an oyster aversion but loved the goat cheese with some yummy bread. Overall, really loved the vibe of the whole place and even checked out the very clean bathrooms before heading out. read more

We stopped in for drinks and light bites with a group of nine. This spot was welcoming, bright and the decorations were fun as well. Definitely a cool spot for a drink. Most of us ordered espresso martinis and they were delicious. A great coffee flavor, and no too sweet. I also liked the gold dusted espresso beans they topped the drink with- a very cute touch. The bites were also tasty, and easily shareable. We ended up with the baked goat cheese and some oysters. I'd love to see what this spot looks like later in the evening, but I loved the vibes early on a Tuesday evening. Still bright, not too loud, and we had a perfect large table where we could all talk together. read more

Went for dinner on a Friday around 7 PM and were seated right away, no wait for a table of three. We had originally planned to go elsewhere, but with an hour-long wait there, we ended up at Wilder--and I'm glad we did. I ordered the Wildest Burger, and it was incredible. The combination of the burger patty, mortadella, braised pork belly, and American cheese was spot on. Instead of fries, I opted for a side Caesar salad, which had just the right amount of dressing but could have been a little colder. Service was great, too. Overall, a fantastic experience and will be back! read more

I love coming here for a crisp martini that is accompanied by a side car so you're truly getting bang for your buck. They are fantastic every time, no matter which bartending is crafting them. Now to the food, honestly, I'm not impressed. The French fries were good, don't get me wrong but if you are looking to go somewhere for a meal there are better options in the area. I felt like the food was lacking flavors, we got wings, burrata, ahi taco and more. I wouldn't go back for any of these items, only for the martini. read more

The espresso martinis were delish. A solid little happy hour if you can make it happen. And the place is fairly big, so plenty of seating. The food was average. The oysters were a bit fishy/not my favorite. The fried goat cheese is always a fan favorite, but again, nothing super elevated. Overall, for some drinks and happy hour in the Marina, this place is a great place to start (or end) the night! read more

Came here with a friend for brunch before shopping around the Marina! The food was great in my opinion. My friend and I got the crab avocado toast and the blueberry ricotta pancakes to share! The crab avocado toast was delicious and definitely a highlight for me - a 10/10. The blueberry ricotta pancakes were a bit on the sweeter side, but I still enjoyed it. The fruit was also very fresh - a 8/10. My friend and I also both each got froses, which come in the cutest bear cups! It was a bit more alcoholic than I expected, but still very good! The ambiance is also nice, and the bathrooms as well as the interior are all decorated very beautifully! I really liked the style. The service was also very good as the servers were attentive and checked up on us periodically :) Overall, I would definitely come back again for brunch! read more

I have never left a review before, but this experience was bad enough that I felt I needed to. My partner and I came here for a viewing party - the flyer advertised that reservations are recommended but not required... and walk-ins welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. We were told that reservations had priority and we'd have to wait until 7pm (when the showing started) to see if there was room. That's completely fair - we expected that. What wasn't okay was how every question was met with vague, unhelpful answers, like the staff couldn't be bothered. The host repeatedly walked past us without acknowledging us. I had to grab their attention just to ask for a seat & ask a second time about the viewing party, only to get the same response: "You'll have to wait until 7 to see." No one explained how the seating worked, whether there was a waitlist, or what we should do in the meantime. We weren't even told there was a second room where the viewing was taking place. I only found that out after asking a second bartender because the host seemed annoyed every time we tried to get information. We decided to grab a quick appetizer and a drink while we waited since we were unsure of what else to do. By then, at least two employees knew why we were there, yet no one checked back with us or gave us any updates. By 7:15, fifteen minutes after the show had already started, we had still heard nothing. Our server checked on the table right next to us without even acknowledging ours - seemingly annoyed that we only ordered a drink & appetizer. We ended up asking a THIRD employee just to get our check so we could leave. I've never felt so ignored, dismissed, or embarrassed for simply asking questions at a restaurant. It felt incredibly cliquey and unwelcoming. If reservations take priority, that's perfectly fine - but communicate that clearly, explain the process, and treat walk-in guests with basic courtesy. We didn't expect special treatment. We just expected decent service and communication. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I've had. read more

I love how pet friendly this place is! Parking here is difficult but it's worth it for the Wilder Espresso martini! ~ FOOD ~ The drinks here are great and they're known for their coffee martini but their food is lacking flavor. Their salad tasted like it had no vinaigrette. The vegetable curry was tasteless which is surprising for curry. The bao buns were the only tasty thing here. I'd come back for those! ~ SERVICE~ The service is attentive and properly timed. I love that this place is pet friendly but a plain patty for our pooch was a shocking $8 so I will pass on that next time... ~AMBIANCE~ It's very loud here so expect to enunciate your order and conversations. Definitely great place to mingle and catch up with friends. read more

Great menu and hands-down the best vibe on Fillmore Street. The craft cocktails are top-notch, and the espresso martinis are still the best in the city. Food is always amazing. This is the best place for outdoor drinks because it's not nearly as crowded as Balboa, but has better service and vibes. Their happy hour deals are phenomenal! Highly recommend checking the times and menus and coming with a group of friends. Brunch food was okay, definitely not amazing but the prices are fantastic and the servings are hefty. Not a ton of flavor but can all be elevated with some hot sauce that you can ask for on the side! $5 mimosas (multiple flavors to choose from!) and frose on the weekends from 10a-12p are the best way to kick off a beautiful day - especially the frosé which comes with gummy bears on top. read more

Such a diverse menu, and unique combination of ingredients for each dish. We went with the rib-eye steak which was cooked perfectly and served with nicely seasoned veggies and fresh salad on request. We also got the short rib's mac & cheese, the shredded braised beef so flavorful and the macaroni smothered in thick and creamy cheese and bechamel sauce. The watermelon margarita was strong and delicious, a perfect complement to my meal. The restaurant was noisy inside like a typical busy restaurant, the staff did offer to seat us somewhere quieter, but it was fine. There was also a nice outdoor patio available. Staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful during our entire visit. And we just loved the ambience of the place, especially with quirky animal art all over. read more

TL;DR Cute spot; great for happy hour My friend found this place on TikTok and recommended that we go. I got there a little early so I went to the bar and got the cocktail of the month. It was happy hour (I think it goes until 6:30 PM on weekends) so the drink was only $9! Talk about throwback pricing The drink was good and the bartender was super nice. During September, it's this gin/passionfruit/piña colada/ginger beer esque drink that's not too sweet but also not too tart. Once my friend got there, we ordered espresso martinis. It was a good martini to me, included the 3 beans, and wasn't too sweet or overly espresso tasting. I wasn't that hungry so I got the happy hour croquet. I didn't know what to except but it was tasty and exceeded my expectations. Id definitely get this again during happy hour! My friend enjoyed her burger Service was great. Playlist was interesting in a good way. I think I overheard that they were using a Spotify playlist but some of the songs were skipped which kind of threw the vibe off at times (but in a very minor way). I walked here but my friend was able to find street parking not too far away. There are great views from this restaurant if you want to see the sunset. read more

I had my solo brunch date here at Wilder, a sister venue of Westwood about a block away. I don't normally brunch on the weekends, so I thought it would be nice to check this place out. Thank you to the owner for accommodating me! The hostess was very welcoming and sat me immediately. The server was also friendly! The restaurant did get much busier throughout the hour since it was peak busy hours. I noticed this restaurant is great for big to small groups, or soloing, maybe not for families though with little kids. Although for next time when I dine in alone, I'd choose to eat at the bar! :) I don't mind bar seating at all. The brunch menu has a nice selection to choose from, such as savory to sweet dishes. The alcoholic beverage & cocktail menu is huge! They have happy hour available, so mimosas are $5! I needed something a little sweet and bubbly, so I ordered a strawberry mimosa. Although I ordered the Shakshuka, I would love to try the Whiskey French Toast. My order: Strawberry mimosa 4/5 - sweet & bubbly- have to give the glass a swirl after a while, so the alcohol doesn't sit at the bottom. Shakshuka 4/5 - it would be better if they provided more pesto bread slices with the dish! It was good to eat for the cold weather :) Traditional Affogato 4/5 - maybe with just the espresso shot would be better, instead of both kahlua & espresso. I liked the crunchy cone! It didn't get soggy at all. I would love to come back again to try other brunch menu items or try their dinner menu! I saw that the espresso martini is a can't miss! read more

I loved being able to sit outside with WINDSHIELDS and enjoy brunch and espresso martinis with the girls. Most of these reviews are about the drinks so I'll give one about the food. I tried several things. I'm not usually a fan of Brussel sprouts, but I wanted the calamari, so I got the sprouts and Calamari and it was so good! The Calamari is cooked perfectly and the sprouts were very flavorful. For the main dish we had the pork chop and apple sauce and the Bolognese. That pomegranate reduction was heavenly. The highlight however, is the Bolognese. I've never been to a restaurant and believed that the noodles were actually handmade. I've tried Bolognese very often and always been disappointed. I wanted to eat this stuff by the bucket. I've been here twice now, once for dinner and another for Happy Hour. I was lucky to find parking super close each time. We arrived 5 minutes before Happy Hour ended and were surprised to have the HH menu offered to us and super grateful. Both times the portions were massive. Happy Hour menu is the same portion of food and drinks, just heavily discounted. My favorite drinks were the Refresher (no longer on the menu) and the Road Runner, dangerously delicious. My friend and I were satisfied with just three items on the HH menu, probably could've squeezed in a dessert. The oysters were our favorite, then it was a tie between the steamed mussels and wild tuna poke. We wished the poke came with more of the wonton chips. Service was great! The lights dim down around 7p for a more intimate, date night vibe. I need to come back and try their brunch offerings soon. read more

Came here for dinner time. We got seated outside where there was a heater above our table, which was very necessary with the cold weather. I got the poke bowl and shared the cauliflower appetizer with the table. Poke was so flavorful & came with a few wonton and crips chips (always a great add on to a poke bowl for texture yes!!!). Our waitress was timely and friendly. The only thing that wasn't so great was the watermelon margarita I got, which was too sweet. Overall, I would come back here. read more

Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation for SF Restaurant Week and it was a pleasant experience! Good: - Loved loved the bolognese pasta here - super great flavor and texture of the noodles - The burrata and crostini appetizer was mouthwatering - I loved the little corn and tomato pieces that it came with - The highball cocktails were so tasty! Bad: - Service took a while, it was also pretty loud so sitting outside was nice - Apple turnover and chocolate cake felt like a steep decline in quality from the food - a little dry and had sprinkles on it which felt amateur Overall the food was solid, but dessert not so much - honestly not a super memorable of an experience, but I did enjoy the food. read more

My Wilder experience was middle of the road. The service was fine but the cocktails and food were a bit disappointing. It was also relatively dead when we went in on Thursday evening just after 5pm. The salad, fries and cocktail "deal" for $25 missed the mark on all three items. With so many options in the area, it is hard to justify returning for an almost $100 bill for a salad, fries, burger, and two cocktails. read more
