Best thing about this place is the interior, but I was disappointed in the food. Service was decent. We came for happy hour from 5-6, discounts aren't too steep 3 dollars off regular price cocktails. I accidentally ordered an old fashioned margarita instead of a regular one, they were kind enough to remake. Hibiscus margarita was good but nothing to write home about. We had tacos and churros. The tortilla on the taco had good flavor but the filling was dry and uninspired. It was grilled chicken tacos and they were quite literally only grilled chicken. The churros were a tad overdone but not bad. I wouldn't come back here unless I needed quick drinks in the area.

Quick service and number of items on menu. We started off with chips and salsa and moved how thin and crispy the chips were. I got the ceviche and it was good, but probs should have gotten something hot since it was so cold. My partner got a steak quesadilla and loved it! Margaritas were good too! The spicy one is spiiiicy and the seasonal one had a good sweetness - I think it was Jamaica! Lots of people coming here for the happy hour burger, will have to try next time!
The service was good but the food lacked taste. It was really bland and could have used some seasoning like salt or garlic! The food came out quickly so we didn't have to wait which was nice. Their Cadillac margaritas were tasty though. The music was too loud for people to have a conversation. The couple next to us had to speak loudly to hear each other.
Mezcalito is such a fun and chill Mexican restaurant with great food and fun drinks! Every time I've been here I've gotten the quesadilla and I have never been disappointed. While they don't have hot sauce, their spicy salsa is so good and addicting. If you get Kenji as your waiter you won't be disappointed! He was so attentive and fun! Will be back to try and make it to their happy hour and maybe get a flight!
Never disappoints! I was there for happy hour and got their burger. Only $10 and definitely one of the best burgers and fries in the area! Also they have a new "girl dinner" that they added to their specials which I am excited to try when I am back next.
Stopped by for taco Tuesday even though we didn't end up getting tacos . You can get 2 tacos for $12 all day long. They also have a great happy hour deal on week days. The pull pork quesadilla was amazing and I highly recommend their spicy marg or one of their mezcal cocktails. Great place for dates or a girls night out!

I decided to get the kale salad. We shared the corn salsa-y with chips appetizer. Great service to take our order and give recommendations. Then our server left. Once we saw her again it was after we already asked someone else for a to go box. My salad definitely needed a knife to cut up the lettuce kale pieces. It was more work than I wanted because the bites were too big unless I chopped my own salad. Prices were good for Russian Hill. I could see going back and sitting at the bar.
I love coming here for the happy hour specials and the awesome vibes! They've got a solid lineup of food deals, but the happy hour burger is the real winner--just $12 for a seriously tasty bite!
though this is technically a restaurant, I usually come here for the cocktails. Honestly, it's probably the best cocktail bar in the area tied with Bar Iris. They have an excellent mezcal and tequila cocktail list, plus a lot of more culinary-style drinks that feel thoughtful and well balanced. I almost always order the mezcal Negroni, but there are so many good options that it's hard to go wrong.
Hubby wanted a burger. We took a short walk. Mezcalito Bartender and Server - Julio and Ricardo was great with making my drink so yummy and fast service. I came to Mezcalito for the happy hour and the World Cup game. We've been wanting to check this place out in the neighborhood and it was great! Food 5/5: the happy hour menu foods were delicious! The burger and fries was as good as it looked- fluffy bun, nicely grilled burger, with perfectly melted Gouda cheese. I really appreciate that the lettuce on the burger was shredded so it made for a very pleasant and satisfying bite. The fries were also really tasty, well seasoned and crispy. Al pastor tacos were delicious as well, goes nicely with the salsa. We also got beers and guava Fresca which was refreshing with the meal. Service 5/5: service was great, the wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Multiple people checks in on us throughout the meal. Ambiance 5/5: the interior of this place is beautiful and has a great vibe, it seems like they really put thought into the finishing and decoration. I loved seeing the bartender going up the ladder for the bottles. Seats were comfortable as well. We were there to watch the World Cup game so they had it on during that time. read more
Came here for an early dinner was really impressed with the food and overall experience! The dishes were all very tasty and filled with flavors. Our waiter Beau was very friendly and provided excellent service! He made sure we got our order in on time to make the final happy hour call, and also suggested some great options for a second round. The outside seating is also an excellent option on a nice afternoon. Can't wait to come back again! read more

Excellent happy hour. I had the $10 burger with fries and a glass of wine for $8. The burger was so good. The caramelized onions and house sauce really made it top notch. The bartender was fantastic. read more

Came to check out the happy hour -Tacos - 3.5/5 - Pretty solid, the meat ratio was good and they were pretty juicy. The pineapple gives a nice boost of flavor and pickled veggies with the salsa kick it up a notch. I will say that the meat didn't taste savory enough, and was over powered by everything else in the taco. - The drinks here were pretty good, but pretty expensive for a happy hour menu. - The service here was nice, and the spot had a chill vibe to end the evening. The area does have better deals for happy hour but this spot does have some decent tacos. read more
I liked the ambiance. I've been a few times now because I live in the area. The interior is great except I wish the high tables in the middle were regular height tables + the high ceiling and seating's proximity to the front door makes the restaurant a bit drafty / cold this time of year. We got mescal flights and they were good. read more

Gem! The happy hour menu is worth checking out ... but let me tell you; the regular menu is pretty amazing too. High quality ingredients and beautiful execution here, the Latin inspired selections are ample and drinks are flowing. Not too many beers on tap (other than Mexican pours) so definitely try the margs and tequila drink as they are well made and not too sweet. (2$ off on HH menu) Bonus: V dog friendly/great vibes all around. Single ladies often come here alone to enjoy their first drink of the afternoon before scoping out the talent. Cheers read more
We started with the chips and trio of salsas. I liked the range in spice level so everyone in our group found one that they liked. The chips were light and crispy yet sturdy enough to scoop up the salsa/. After perusing the menu, I settled on the Mezcalito Burger. I normally wouldn't order a burger at a Mexican restaurant, but the reviews were positive and it sounded delicious. Unfortunately, the burger as a whole was hindered by the very undercooked angus beef patty. In hindsight, I should have sent it back. The smoked Gouda cheese and the caramelized onions did a decent job of offsetting the undercooked beef. I didn't pick up on the mustard aioli, but there were a lot of flavors at play. The fluffy potato bun held all of the sandwich's contents together well. The side of fries were crispy and golden brown -- a great accompaniment to the burger. Although the food fell short of expectations, the drinks were great -- I had a Spicy Paloma and the Hard Watermelon Fresca, both were very tasty. The service was decent but nothing above average, although I did like the upscale, modern interior. I'm not sure I'll rush back here, but I would be willing to explore more of the menu. read more
Might I say this place has the best tacos and mezcal in SF? The only other place I enjoyed fancy tacos like this was Tulum (I'm a street taco gal). We got THREE pitchers of the mezcal and really had ourselves a night (lol). Wasn't overly Smokey and I loved that they bring out the glasses with the rims dressed for you! It's the details, baby! We had a fun server as well so our time there was 10/10 and definitely a dining experience to remember! Good music, good vibes, good food! What more is there? read more

The food here was actually really good, but the service completely ruined the experience. My friend forgot her ID and went home to get it. When she came back and showed it, the waitress started treating us like we were trying to scam her, insinuating we were sharing IDs. She even made me show mine just to "check" we weren't using the same one. It was awkward and unnecessary. Then my friend ordered a drink that tasted off, barely took a sip, and asked for a new one. They still tried to charge her for the original drink she didn't even drink. Overall, the attitude from our server Kate was judgmental and made us feel unwelcome. The experience was just such a shame because the food was actually great. read more
Came to Mezcalito for happy hour on a Tuesday and sat outside. Our waiter Beau was very friendly and gave nice suggestions. We just wanted to stop in for a snack and shared the guac and chips ($13) and tacos al pastor ($12 during happy hour). The tacos were filled with meat and super flavorful and our waiter informed us that everything was made from scratch down to the tortillas! Awesome! I do wish that the guac wasn't so expensive and was offered on the happy hour menu but regardless it was good. The guava agua Fresca tasted just like a Hawaiian POG juice and transported me back to Hawaii. read more
Food is tasty and fresh. I'm not a fan of delivering more than one course at a time but our guacamole was excellent, the kale salad pretty good and my husband's chicken enchiladas were tasty. The grapefruit soda was beautiful. It is a very loud restaurant both inside and out. read more

I originally liked this place for the happy hour menu - but I recently decided to branch out and order their enchiladas, and maybe it was just an off day for them but it was a VERY sad excuse for an enchilada. I almost thought it was a joke. I eventually called the waiter over and asked for an explanation. Thinking that maybe a new person was back there cooking, or something had gone awry in the kitchen. Anything! It almost looks like they laid a Kraft cheese single over the enchilada. They assured me it wasn't Kraft cheese, it was "very fresh Swiss cheese" and I'm not sure that answer was any more comforting?? Is Swiss cheese in alignment with Mexican food?? And regardless, the enchiladas simply lacked flavor. The green tomatillo sauce tasted watered down. BUT I like coming for the happy hour priced margaritas. It truly is a good marg, esp for $12. So I may just be sticking to drinks and maybe happy hour tacos at this establishment Everything else on the menu outside of happy hour - is abhorrently overpriced read more

Came here for a private birthday party. The room was very nice but can get a little hot since it's on the smaller side. Drinks were yum, got the daily Margarita skinny style so that it was not too sweet! I recommend the guava flavor if they have. The portions for food are big here so I'm glad we didnt order too much! For my entree I got the fish tacos they were very yummy with the salsas and the fish size was huge! I would come again for a happy hour . read more

Cute place on polk with good indoor and outdoor space. It is dog friendly outside and well equipped with outdoor heaters. Food was delicious, service was alright and ambiance was cute. We started with guacamole and chips, along with cocktails. It was all delicious (i had cocktails here before and all was on par and delicious). Had pescado tacos for dinner. Slaw was a nice touch with the fried cod . We ended the night with churros. Total came to $55/person. Pretty sf standard i guess. Will be back. read more

Kids?? Is it friendly enough for kids where mom and dad want to get out?
This really isn't a place to bring children. It's really an adult place maybe with teenagers but not children or babies. If mom and dad wanna go out, they should get a babysitter.
