Huevos Rancheros

I thought the food here was kind of underwhelming. For the price there are better food options in the area, but this could be a good spot if you're more interested in drinks and aesthetics. It's a very cute spot and the outdoor seating area is (relatively) large and covered. You order from a QR code and can keep your own tab separate from others at your table which I thought was interesting and probably nice for larger parties.

This is most definitely a bar! But good small bites. I liked all the food we ordered. It came out fast , it was fresh but more importantly tasted good. Some good bar food bites that had a island vibe flare. Tacos needed something like crispier torts, we asked for lime. Brussels had good flavor but not crispy. Pop corn shrimp could be a bit more coconut flavored but overall very good for bar food!

Solid spot in the marina. I love their Caribbean inspired dishes. I ordered the popcorn shrimp and the crabcake Benedict. Both were really good. Their hibiscus palmer is also very refreshing! They have outside seating which is perfect for a warm day.

The place has a cute vibe and has great happy hour deals! I didn't think the food was particularly great but not a bad place to catch up with a friend! I do love that they have indoor and outdoor seating! I recommend the outside seating so you can people watch on the busy street!

Great vibes, the music, decor, and ambiance is amazing--feels like you are back in SoCal. They play upbeat house music (not sure if anyone dances). Come here for the vibes, as the food is very average. The drinks are okay. The pina colada was sour so I don't recommend. The espresso martini was decent. Scan the QR code to order, they will bring it to your table.

Smash burger naughty style

The vibes here are great! My friend and I walked in on a Tuesday night and there was bingo going on. I think this would be a great place to drink and hang out with friends. It was very loud though, I had to shout just to keep a conversation, outside seating is quieter. I got the smash burger and made it naughty style. I personally did not really like this burger, the meat patty is not what I expected for a typical smash burger. The naughty style flavors took over the burger. The Mac and cheese was delicious though, super creamy and cheesy. The Brussels sprouts were also quite tasty but on the sweeter side versus savory.

They have great happy hour! My friends and i came here on a Thursday afternoon to get some drinks and snacks. We actually didn't realize it was happy hour until an hour in. We ordered the sesame chicken, fries, hugo spritz, aperol spritz, pina colada, skinny passion fruit margarita. I'd recommend getting the sesame chicken. Super tasty, and it was perfectly crispy and flavored. I've been here many times and everything I've ordered so far has been tasty. They also have a menu for your fur babies which i loved. The service is fine and the ambiance is tropical. Very cutesy and dog friendly.

I stopped by with my coworker to grab some happy hour before meeting with the others. She lives in the marina and I found this place on Yelp. I was mainly looking for a happy hour menu with lots of choices. When we stopped by around 5pm on a Thursday, it was very open. There were plenty of seats in the patio and indoors as well. They have QR codes on the table and you order via your phone and they bring it out to you afterwards. It's open seating so wherever you wanted to sit, you just find a table and do so. I ordered the guava mojito with casamigos blanco ($8 base, $3 for the choice of alcohol), spiced fries ($4) and sesame chicken wings ($14) to share. My friend ordered the mother clucker sandwich ($13) and Palm house slushy with mango ($10+ additional for the mango). The guava mojito was freshing and was very easy to drink. The alcohol was in there but the guava made it so refreshing that you almost couldn't tell. The spiced fries were good, I wouldn't say they were super special but just a classic. The wings, let me tell you was to die for!! The wings had the gochujang glaze with sesame and green onion. It came with a side of pickled cucumbers and a coconut ranch dipping sauce. The flavors of the glaze was on point, and it wasn't too sticky but you definitely want to make sure you don't let the glaze go to waste. The coconut ranch had some essences of dill in it from what it seemed. It provided a calming sauce to highlight the gochujang flavor. The pickled cucumbers helps cleanse the palette between bites. My coworker said she really enjoyed her drink and food. The drink was strong according to her and the chicken sandwich was deliciously crispy and flavorful! FYI, they automatically apply a 5.5% surge charge on your bill. So be mindful of that before you tip. They also automatically elect the 20% tip when you are about to pay. You can alter your tip at the end when you pay on your phone as well. Overall, the place was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye, had a convenient ordering system, yummy food and drinks and seemed like a nice place to meet up with friends or even date night. I'd definitely stop by again for happy hour if I'm in the neighborhood!

Review is strictly for the smash burger and eaten via delivery. Picture was very promising, but was an expectation vs. reality situation. Burger was dry as hell and kind of gritty, would not classify as "smash" and very much a formed/rounded burger with uniform edges...almost as if previously frozen? Potato bun was very sweet or could have been the pineapple onion jam! Fries had a nice crisp, but no spice? Also didn't come with pineapple ketchup as advertised. Like Palm House otherwise (when we've dined in-person), but would pass on the smash burger!

The mother clucker chicken sandwich
Sonia C.

My friend wanted to try this place. I had the mother clucker chicken sandwich, coconut popcorn shrimp, and the prickly pear mimosa. We shared the naughty fries appetizer. The chicken sandwich doesn't come with fries or a side. I think according to the menu only the burger does? It was one if the only sandwiches that mentioned fries. So know that if it doesn't mention fries or a side then it doesn't come with it. The mother clucker sandwich was delicious and cooked just right. It was tasty and you could tell they did the spicy breading fresh themselves. But its price with no fries or side? For that price it should come with fries. Maybe have an option to add it or make it a combo since just the sandwich alone isn't filling enough. If they didn't just solely rely on scanning and ordering from a QR code, and a waitress checked in on you or provided service, you could clarify these things versus finding out once getting your food. The naughty fries were tasty too but could've had maybe some more toppings. Like the cheese sauce or the other sauce. The fries they were cooked perfectly with a little breading on the outside. The popcorn coconut shrimp were delicious too and not overcooked. The reason for taking off 2 stars was the lack of service. They have a QR code for the menu, ordering, and for paying your bill or tab. Some places who use this method might tend to be not as attentive with service. They just bring the food and don't check in. I saw both of my drinks I ordered sit at the bar for a while. No one thought to bring them over. My food took a long time to get. I was looking for our waitress and didn't see her to ask or check the status of my order. Except for once when she was putting together punch bowks for a big party near us. Other than that she was nowhere to be found. There was a big party for a bday that came in after my friend and I had ordered food, maybe that party was prioritize due to their potential tip or orders of punch bowls, rounds of shots, and food. Or maybe they were short staffed idk. We sat ourselves since there was no one in the front to seat us and no sign was there stating we should seat ourselves. Either way my order was forgotten and not brought to our table for a long time. Much after the tine that the text said it'd be ready by. I sat there staring at my soda and mimosa just sitting at the bar. Once our waitress cane with my food after having not seen her at all for a while I had to remind her the soda and mimosa were mine sitting at the bar. Then she brought them and apologized. I saw other reviews mentioning the lack of service and they're not exaggerating. To me if the food is good and if what I ordered is brought out to me in an reasonable amount of time, I'm not big on service or how attentive they are. I could care less. But I was sitting there with nothing just waiting for a long time. My friend luckily put in her order shortly before me and got her food, her cocktail, and our naughty fries appetizer to share pretty quickly. Idk what happened when I placed my order right after she got all hers. That big party came in well after I had put in my order too. If they were being prioritized due to spending more I know the tip for a party of 6 or more will be automatic anyway. Other than that there weren't very many customers overall in the restaurant. My friend and I tipped lower but honestly that didn't deserve a tip at all. When no service is being provided and they're not bringing you what you ordered once ready at the minimum. That's a shame because the food was delicious.

Palm House nails it when it comes to vibes--this place has such a fun, tropical energy that's honestly hard to find anywhere else in SF. The ambiance is unbeatable, making it an ideal spot for group outings or hosting larger parties. It just feels like a good time as soon as you walk in. The food is delicious and full of flavor. The orange juice tasted a bit off--and some of the portions felt a little small for the price. Still, the overall experience makes up for it and it was still yummy. If you're looking for a vibrant, sunny escape right in the city, this place delivers. I'd definitely come back. Our waiters were also amazing and so kind and helpful! And I love the split tab feature they have added.

Wow the food here is so good! The popcorn shrimp are amazing and the sauces complimented them perfectly. The Brussels sprouts were also amazing. The chicken sandwich was great, and I also loved the sauces on it. The restaurant is cute and bright. Service is a bit slow, but you can order and pay from your phone which is amazing. Will definitely be back!

After a park day at the Presidio, we wanted to move the party and we decided on Bar Darling. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was jam packed. Luckily we were able to get some space in the alley way for us to order drinks from our server. We've been on a Friday around 5pm on another day, it wasn't as busy, so definitely a great place to start and maybe end the night. In a time where craft cocktails have gotten really expensive, Bar Darling offers craft cocktails (their signature cocktails) all for $14 each. I'll note that the promotional photos online give a somewhat misleading impression of the ambiance. The actual interior is considerably more modest and utilitarian than advertised. We ended up seated outdoors beneath one of those industrial heat lamps, which was blasting uncomfortably hot air until our server kindly switched it off at our request. That said, the service was efficient and attentive. Our drinks arrived promptly despite the crowd, and the staff managed the busy room well. Nothing particularly memorable about the experience, but perfectly adequate for a casual evening out. A solid four out of five stars.
