Really love the mussels and clams steamers. Chefs kiss with a bit of bread for the white wine. The added fries was a good addition for texture and crunch. The braised short rib was delicious as well. Tender and fatty. Love the balance of carbs, meat and vegetables. Being outdoor in the north beach on a sunny weekend is a total vibe.
randomly found this spot. was craving a burger and saw the chicken sandwich on the menu. started with n/a passionfruit drink (cool kids menu). SO so good. loved it. truly felt like a cool kid. the coconut mojito mocktail was also pretty good. for starter, got the crispy paella balls. they were pretty good. id get them again. for main, got the spanish fried chicken sandwich. I wasn't a fan of how the chicken itself was cooked. not like a regular chicken breast. not sure if it was dark or light meat. but flavors themselves were good. ambiance was really nice. they had indoor and outdoor seating. the service was also quick.
This is a beautiful european restaurant full of color and character, and fairly busy on a Friday evening. Glad we made a reservation, as I heard the host tell another couple it would be a one hour wait. We were offered our choice of seating and opted for the heated patio which was covered and enclosed and in close proximity to the live music happening outside the venue. The band was talented and entertaining, performing funk and soul, including songs like Ain't No Sunshine (when she's gone) and Lovely Day. Awesome sounds on the trombone, keyboard, bass, guitar, and vocals, courtesy of Daryl Savage Music. The restaurant offers a nice variety of delicious tapas on their menu. We got the arugula salad, crispy paella balls, risotto funghi porchini, albondigas (beef & pork meatballs) which came with toasted baguette slices, and two glasses of sangria (red and white). The beverages were delightful and topped off with plenty of fresh fruit. Each of the dishes were amazing and made with quality ingredients we could really taste. I especially enjoyed the paella balls and risotto. Wow, such distinct flavors that had me addicted. Plating was lovely as well. Also, staff was attentive and professional, and we were pleased with the service we received here. The place is ideal for date night for sure, the setting offering a nice balance of casual and upscale.
Stopped here for some dessert and a cocktail. Service was great. We shared the tiramisu which was delicious and you get a pretty BIG slice. I also got their espresso martini which was ok. It was made with rum instead of vodka so it had an interesting taste. I will come back to try their tapas menu
I've randomly stopped by this place on at least two occasions now. Cocktails were fantastic, and the food is unexpectedly refined and really good. The patatas bravas are perfection, and I really enjoyed their smoked salmon crostinis as well. For sf, the prices are also reasonable. Would love the opportunity to try other dishes in the future!
Really feels like a hit or miss on the food. I have been to Red Window before, at the recommendation of friends, and was surprised to be disappointed by the all the food which came to my table when I dined here before. However, this time I went again with a friend who assured me the food is fantastic and I was a little bit skeptical but it turned out a bit better this time. We ordered a medley of food: the patatas bravas, the flatbread, the albodigas, the crispy paella balls and the crispy cauliflower. I was especially excited for the patatas bravas as I had tasted them before. They were the highlight of my previous time I had dined here. This time was no exception. Exceptionally crispy flaky and fantastic texture with the multiple layers. The crispy paella balls were also excellent, Very flavorful and what a nice slight crunch to their exterior. Unfortunately I was half disappointed by the rest of the food we ordered The flatbread was just alright, and I regretted we didn't do at least one of the add-ons for it as that likely would have improved it a lot. The albondigas were a lot to get through and I'm glad we were sharing the dish. They went well when paired with the other dishes as it was very one-note with getting through each of the meatballs. The crispy cauliflower had good flavor, but surprisingly were far more mushy than crispy. Red Window has a really nice spot on Columbus, great vibe and friendly staff each time I've visited. They have both interior and heated parklet /outdoor seating. However, the food really feels like there's a only a few standouts on the menu and the rest aren't really bringing more to the table. Peek at other reviews before you go to get an idea of the hits on the menu.
Came here for brunch and honestly had a great experience. The restaurant has a really vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with colorful walls, unique chairs and both indoor and outdoor seating that makes the whole place feel lively and relaxed. For drinks, they offer a wide variety of cocktails, beers and even mocktails. I decided to go with a mimosa and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. You can tell they use fresh orange juice because the flavor was perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too acidic. Food wise, I ordered the Spanish Burger and it did not disappoint. The burger was fresh, flavorful and clearly made with quality ingredients. It paired perfectly with the crispy fries. The staff were attentive, friendly and service was quick, which made the whole brunch experience even better. Overall, this is a great spot for brunch whether you're a local or visiting the city. I'll definitely be coming back.
This place is such a vibe Highly recommend this place they have live music. It seems to be like on Fridays and Saturdays. It's very cute, beautifully decorated, and cozy feeling I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy any of the food since I stopped in for drinks, but the drinks were beyond delicious and very on them for the holidays The staff was incredibly kind and made every drink feel special Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area
Beautiful Space, amazing service, lovley drinks! We Sat Ont he heated patio and it was such a nice way to enjoy the bussling city while still being toasty. Great cocktail menu and they tasted great, and mocktails too. Our server was so kind, attentive, and always checked in on us! The food for me was just okay. The serving and price were reasonable and quite big would definitely return for drinks again but probably not for food. There are a few vegetarian options!
I'm not sure the bands name but the lead singer was lit. King David, a Nigerian king indeed. Vocals and band had many dancing in these streets. It was fabulous people watching. The live music schedule is on their website but I wish the band names were listed to return for more. I grabbed a table at Red Window for an hour. We sipped on festive cocktails ($17) in very fun mugs. If you really must know, the mugs are from Target. But the moment, priceless. The holiday decor at Red Window will get you in a festive mood, guaranteed.
Fun spot for a group dinner! They were very accommodating for a large group of 20 people. We sat outside in the heated covered patio (dog friendly also). It was very easy to make a reservation through OpenTable. The service was a little chaotic and they forgot some things/messed up who got what but that is expected with a group of 20 people. I appreciated the staff's patience and efficiency as they took our order. My favorite things I tried were the holiday eggnog drink, short rib, patatas bravas, and the mac and cheese. A little pricey for what it is, but I enjoyed the vibes of the place. The Christmas decorations were up which made the whole area feel super festive and cozy!
THE BIG: Italian restaurant located in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. Super lively and energetic area of SF with the restaurant boasting indoor/outdoor seating options. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here for dinner after exploring SF and worked up an appetite. We didn't have a reservation but it was early enough that we were able to snag a walk-in table outside. There was also live music that kept us entertained on the corner of the street. We ordered the braised short rib, risotto funghi porcini, crispy paella balls, brussels, and patatas bravas. My favorite bite was definitely the patatas bravas. They are cubed and layered in a nice mouth feel way. The risotto funghi was a lil too salty for me but still enjoyable. Second favorite bite was the brussel sprouts. Service was a bit slow and I had to wave them down even though there was almost no one in the restaurant. That's the only ding I have to give. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The total bill for this great meal was around $100. Food was great, ambiance was great, area was great. All around a great time :)

Great service and super cute spot! They have indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating that's covered and has heat lamps! The patatas bravas were so good, we had 2 orders of them! My friends favorite dishes were the lamb pasta and patatas! I loved their seafood combo. It was fresh and tasty! I think the octopus dish could use some more octopus though. Their drinks were also super fun and tasted amazing! I'd def get more drinks as well. read more

Had a fantastic dinner at Red Window with my husband. We came around 5pm on a Friday night and was seated immediately outside. The menu has a variety of small bite tapas and large entrees like pasta and meats. My husband and I ordered a bunch to share! Highly recommend the patatas bravas, brussel sprouts and arancini balls. Service was very accommodating and food came out quick. The risotto and pork belly was a bit salty in my options. Great spot for a dinner out! read more
The parklet is so hot during the day when it's sunny. It feels like a green house in there. We sat at a sidewalk table and got some drinks. The drinks took forever to get to us even though it wasn't super busy. We had two different cucumber cocktails. One was like a pisco sour and the other was a tequila drink. Both were yummy. Our friends had the espresso martini and French 45. Their cocktail menu selection is great and the drinks look awesome. We didn't order food but all the dishes that went by were beautifully plated. Our server was nice and he was friendly even though we were only getting drinks. We will come back for the cocktails and will try the food next time which we heard was good. read more
The ambiance and service were great. 4/5: The Crispy paella balls $12 are good, but not as good as arancini. I think I prefer regular paella. 2/5: The espresso martini $16 is not inspiring. It doesn't have a strong enough flavor, or a depth of flavor. read more
5/5 service, 3.5/5 on brunch food, 5/5 ambiance. We came at 1pm for Sunday brunch and there was no wait. The waitress quickly seated us and there was live music outside. Two of us got the chicken waffle sandwich, one of us got the burger with a generous portion of fries. The chicken in the chicken waffle sandwich was more Japanese chicken katsu style, while I was expecting a southern fried chicken. The waffles were fluffy, not crispy, but they hit the spot. Nothing was particularly "Spanish" about the main dishes. We shared the patatas bravas, and my one friend got an espresso martini which he said was quite good. If I needed a brunch spot without a wait, I would come back but more for the ambiance than for the food. read more

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Red Window on a Friday night, and I'm so glad we did! They had live music playing, which made the whole atmosphere feel relaxing, fun, and a little romantic. The ambience is amazing -- warm lighting, great energy, and a cozy corner location that feels like a hidden gem in Little Italy. I started with an espresso martini that was perfectly balanced -- strong but smooth -- and then had another cocktail that was refreshing and delicious. The drinks were so good that next time, I definitely want to come back and try the food too. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and even though we came a bit early in the evening, the vibe was already great. There are also lots of other great restaurants and spots nearby, so it's a perfect place to start your night. Parking-wise, there's metered parking around the area, but it's best to get there early since it gets pretty busy during dinner hours. Overall, this was such a lovely little find -- great music, great drinks, and just a really nice atmosphere. Not sure if they always have live music on Fridays, but we're so happy we stumbled upon it before dinner! read more

kind of a let down. i live nearby and i walk by the all the time and so i was excited to try the brunch for the first time since it always looks pretty full inside. i made a reservation for my party at 11:15 on a sunday, plenty of outdoor seating and decent openings inside. overall, i think i was pretty unhappy with my dish selection and some of the other dishes were a let down. would recommend: butter seared banana bread - warm but crunchy outside and butter melts on it creme anglaise french toast - if you like hella sweet for brunch then this is your dish. the caramel sauce on top was sickeningly sweet. patatas bravas - honestly hella good, potato crunchy outside but there are a ton of layers. very well done. would not recommend: pork hash - potatoes bland, pork way too much fat, very oily, no like bread/rice to eat with so it's very heavy. i was really disappointed by this and it honestly was really under seasoned, and since it wasn't flavorful at all i didn't enjoy eating this. BLT croissant sandwich - croissant was looking very sad, the croissant was kinda deflated and when you look inside the sandwich the aioli isn't uniformly spread. kind of a let down. read more

my friend and I loved our dinner here! first, the location is perfect- very central in north beach and lively, with a jazz band playing out in front. we sat outside on the patio which was super cute. to drink, we ordered the lychee spritz and blanco sangria- both were so delicious and refreshing. they also just look beautiful and come with fresh herbs and fruit in them. for food, we had to get the patatas bravas which were SO delicious- they were crispy on the outside while layered and fluffy on the inside. the gambas al ajillo were also great- crispy bread to top with the garlicky saucy shrimp. lastly, we also got the crispy paella balls which were so flavorful and filling. would definitely order all of those dishes again! overall, we absolutely loved it at red window- the tapas style made it easy to try multiple things and they were all hits. service was excellent and quick. I'll definitely be back :) read more

I loved their potato dish patatas bravado and the sauce paired with it - 10/10 I would go back just to get that. Their braised short ribs was okay (6/10) but was missing some acidity and a bit lacking in flavor/interest. It's also a bit on the pricey side but their decor and the space itself is very nice. Highly recommend going on a Friday or weekend afternoon/evening when they usually have a great live band playing. read more
We visited Red Window on a Wednesday after work for their (20% off everything!) happy hour. It was a nice day so we sat outside, in the little covered area near the street. They had a good mocktail selection, and I started with the Coconut Mojito. It came in a cute tiki glass and was super tasty - both sweet and refreshing. For food, we shared the Patatas Bravas, Gambas, and Flatbread. The Patatas Bravas came in these dainty little cubes, and were very satisfying to look at. They also tasted good, but weren't the best Patatas Bravas of my life. I really liked the Flatbread with ricotta, parmesan, arugula, dried fig, and rosemary honey - such a good flavor combination. The Gambas were also tasty, especially the creamy garlic sauce they came in. I ended up getting the Mango Lassi Remix as my second drink. I had asked if it was sweet and our server said "not really", but that they could make it even less sweet. Unfortunately, it was so sweet and fruity, I ended up not drinking it. Very aesthetically pleasing though! Service was friendly and very attentive. Would return to try more items! read more

Came here on a Friday night at it was busy! We made a last-minute reservation and snagged a table outside in the street-side shelter. Our table was awkwardly in the sliding door, so one of us had to turn 180 degrees to talk to the waitress. It was also fairly loud so it was hard to hear what they were asking us. Our food came out in a timely manner, though. We got the Tagliatelle, Patatas Bravas, and the Albondigas (meatballs). I also got a White Sangria. Tagliatelle: 3/5, it was decent but I wish there was more sauce. Sort of flavorless, and we thought the pasta was too soft. Patatas Bravas: 5/5, I loved the way these potatoes were cut, and they were so crispy! Loved the aioli that came with it as well. Albondigas: 5/5, very flavorful yet soft. Loved making perfect bites with the tender meatballs with the tomato sauce atop crispy bread. White Sangria: 4/5, not too sweet but plenty of fruit! Very beautiful and refreshing. Overall, a cute place to try! Happy to come back. read more
