Really love the mussels and clams steamers. Chefs kiss with a bit of bread for the white wine. The added fries was a good addition for texture and crunch. The braised short rib was delicious as well. Tender and fatty. Love the balance of carbs, meat and vegetables. Being outdoor in the north beach on a sunny weekend is a total vibe.
This is a beautiful european restaurant full of color and character, and fairly busy on a Friday evening. Glad we made a reservation, as I heard the host tell another couple it would be a one hour wait. We were offered our choice of seating and opted for the heated patio which was covered and enclosed and in close proximity to the live music happening outside the venue. The band was talented and entertaining, performing funk and soul, including songs like Ain't No Sunshine (when she's gone) and Lovely Day. Awesome sounds on the trombone, keyboard, bass, guitar, and vocals, courtesy of Daryl Savage Music. The restaurant offers a nice variety of delicious tapas on their menu. We got the arugula salad, crispy paella balls, risotto funghi porchini, albondigas (beef & pork meatballs) which came with toasted baguette slices, and two glasses of sangria (red and white). The beverages were delightful and topped off with plenty of fresh fruit. Each of the dishes were amazing and made with quality ingredients we could really taste. I especially enjoyed the paella balls and risotto. Wow, such distinct flavors that had me addicted. Plating was lovely as well. Also, staff was attentive and professional, and we were pleased with the service we received here. The place is ideal for date night for sure, the setting offering a nice balance of casual and upscale.
Stopped here for some dessert and a cocktail. Service was great. We shared the tiramisu which was delicious and you get a pretty BIG slice. I also got their espresso martini which was ok. It was made with rum instead of vodka so it had an interesting taste. I will come back to try their tapas menu
Really feels like a hit or miss on the food. I have been to Red Window before, at the recommendation of friends, and was surprised to be disappointed by the all the food which came to my table when I dined here before. However, this time I went again with a friend who assured me the food is fantastic and I was a little bit skeptical but it turned out a bit better this time. We ordered a medley of food: the patatas bravas, the flatbread, the albodigas, the crispy paella balls and the crispy cauliflower. I was especially excited for the patatas bravas as I had tasted them before. They were the highlight of my previous time I had dined here. This time was no exception. Exceptionally crispy flaky and fantastic texture with the multiple layers. The crispy paella balls were also excellent, Very flavorful and what a nice slight crunch to their exterior. Unfortunately I was half disappointed by the rest of the food we ordered The flatbread was just alright, and I regretted we didn't do at least one of the add-ons for it as that likely would have improved it a lot. The albondigas were a lot to get through and I'm glad we were sharing the dish. They went well when paired with the other dishes as it was very one-note with getting through each of the meatballs. The crispy cauliflower had good flavor, but surprisingly were far more mushy than crispy. Red Window has a really nice spot on Columbus, great vibe and friendly staff each time I've visited. They have both interior and heated parklet /outdoor seating. However, the food really feels like there's a only a few standouts on the menu and the rest aren't really bringing more to the table. Peek at other reviews before you go to get an idea of the hits on the menu.
I've randomly stopped by this place on at least two occasions now. Cocktails were fantastic, and the food is unexpectedly refined and really good. The patatas bravas are perfection, and I really enjoyed their smoked salmon crostinis as well. For sf, the prices are also reasonable. Would love the opportunity to try other dishes in the future!
Came here for brunch and honestly had a great experience. The restaurant has a really vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with colorful walls, unique chairs and both indoor and outdoor seating that makes the whole place feel lively and relaxed. For drinks, they offer a wide variety of cocktails, beers and even mocktails. I decided to go with a mimosa and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. You can tell they use fresh orange juice because the flavor was perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too acidic. Food wise, I ordered the Spanish Burger and it did not disappoint. The burger was fresh, flavorful and clearly made with quality ingredients. It paired perfectly with the crispy fries. The staff were attentive, friendly and service was quick, which made the whole brunch experience even better. Overall, this is a great spot for brunch whether you're a local or visiting the city. I'll definitely be coming back.
This place is such a vibe Highly recommend this place they have live music. It seems to be like on Fridays and Saturdays. It's very cute, beautifully decorated, and cozy feeling I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy any of the food since I stopped in for drinks, but the drinks were beyond delicious and very on them for the holidays The staff was incredibly kind and made every drink feel special Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area
Beautiful Space, amazing service, lovley drinks! We Sat Ont he heated patio and it was such a nice way to enjoy the bussling city while still being toasty. Great cocktail menu and they tasted great, and mocktails too. Our server was so kind, attentive, and always checked in on us! The food for me was just okay. The serving and price were reasonable and quite big would definitely return for drinks again but probably not for food. There are a few vegetarian options!
I'm not sure the bands name but the lead singer was lit. King David, a Nigerian king indeed. Vocals and band had many dancing in these streets. It was fabulous people watching. The live music schedule is on their website but I wish the band names were listed to return for more. I grabbed a table at Red Window for an hour. We sipped on festive cocktails ($17) in very fun mugs. If you really must know, the mugs are from Target. But the moment, priceless. The holiday decor at Red Window will get you in a festive mood, guaranteed.
randomly found this spot. was craving a burger and saw the chicken sandwich on the menu. started with n/a passionfruit drink (cool kids menu). SO so good. loved it. truly felt like a cool kid. the coconut mojito mocktail was also pretty good. for starter, got the crispy paella balls. they were pretty good. id get them again. for main, got the spanish fried chicken sandwich. I wasn't a fan of how the chicken itself was cooked. not like a regular chicken breast. not sure if it was dark or light meat. but flavors themselves were good. ambiance was really nice. they had indoor and outdoor seating. the service was also quick.
Fun spot for a group dinner! They were very accommodating for a large group of 20 people. We sat outside in the heated covered patio (dog friendly also). It was very easy to make a reservation through OpenTable. The service was a little chaotic and they forgot some things/messed up who got what but that is expected with a group of 20 people. I appreciated the staff's patience and efficiency as they took our order. My favorite things I tried were the holiday eggnog drink, short rib, patatas bravas, and the mac and cheese. A little pricey for what it is, but I enjoyed the vibes of the place. The Christmas decorations were up which made the whole area feel super festive and cozy!
THE BIG: Italian restaurant located in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. Super lively and energetic area of SF with the restaurant boasting indoor/outdoor seating options. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here for dinner after exploring SF and worked up an appetite. We didn't have a reservation but it was early enough that we were able to snag a walk-in table outside. There was also live music that kept us entertained on the corner of the street. We ordered the braised short rib, risotto funghi porcini, crispy paella balls, brussels, and patatas bravas. My favorite bite was definitely the patatas bravas. They are cubed and layered in a nice mouth feel way. The risotto funghi was a lil too salty for me but still enjoyable. Second favorite bite was the brussel sprouts. Service was a bit slow and I had to wave them down even though there was almost no one in the restaurant. That's the only ding I have to give. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The total bill for this great meal was around $100. Food was great, ambiance was great, area was great. All around a great time :)

patatas bravas are a must get, flakey layers that are buttery but not heavy. mix the sauces for a perfect combo of textures and flavor. the mac and cheese was delicious too, the cheese was nice and creamy and also not too heavy. the waitress was very sweet and nice and the interior was cutely decorated! we filled up on multiple orders of the potato squares so i'll definitely have to come back to try more of the menu! read more

I visited for a work dinner and the vegan options aren't super strong. There were a few appetizers that I veganized like brussel sprouts and olives. For the entree, I got the falafel burger veganized so the sauce was removed, which made it quite dry. I ended up dousing it in ketchup so not very healthy. It came with a side of fries. For beverages, I got the mango lassi remix mocktail and enjoyed it. I'm glad that something was able to be veganized but I would not come back for a meal of my own accord. As a vegan, it might be a better spot for apps/drinks. The interior of the restaurant is on the smaller side and it has some outdoor seating as well. Service was good. read more
Went here for happy hour and got the clams with noodles and it was a huge amount of clams! Noodles were just an add on so don't expect like a linguine and clams kind of deal. The potatoes were meh - wouldn't get it again. But would come back for the clams! They also have a large drink menu but I didn't get anything this time. read more
Friday night live music on the corner, excellent and attentive service, we got the corner booth facing the band, the vibes were amazing all around. Our group ordered every tapa on the menu and some additional entrees, plus a drink each and this still ended up the most affordable dinner we had while visiting SF. The quality of everything was amazing, though the tapas could have been bigger for a group of 7, maybe order two each for a party over 4-5. I recommend the chicken sandwich for entree, though everyone loved the salads. read more

Came with my friends for a drink and got the Spicy Cucumber.....absolutely LOVED it. Amazing atmosphere and service. We had Em and she was amazing with recommendations. We cannot wait to come back for food! read more
Funky, but cool restaurant! Indoor and outdoor seating and most of the outdoor seating is enclosed with heat lamps. This place gets busy so I recommend a reservation. Staff were friendly and attentive, never had to wait long. Order the patatas bravas! They are more than the description leads on and absolutely delicious! read more

This was a delicious meal with an old friend. We had the patatas, lamb rags and spaghetti with meatballs. The service was a bit lackluster as I think the host was playing server double duty as well. We ordered drinks early and they didn't come until right before our food. Which also took awhile. The food definitely made up for it. read more
Have placed by this place a bunch and needed food late without a wait. Had the meatballs and shrimp along with the espresso martini. Meatballs and shrimp were excellent! Would def come back to try their pasta. The espresso martini was different than what I'm used to. Not quite that strong, which for me was probably a good thing! read more
They charge here for ranch. A dollar extra for ranch. This really killed my vibe. I understand increasing costs but we ordered multiple items that would've paired amazingly with ranch. A whole dollar for ranch killed me. The chicken wings were so crispy, juicy, and perfectly cooked. They were good but definitely needed the ranch since they had no sauce on them. The fries were a bit stale so they definitely needed ranch to make them more enjoyable but too bad it costed a dollar for ranch. The best drink was the white sangria! It was perfectly refreshing and had such a delicious tropical flavor to it. It was the best of the three types of sangrias they have!!! Service was a bit rough because it took a long time to get our orders in. I felt like we were never organically checked on and were ignored for most of our time there. I had to get up from my table to ask for the bill, then get up again to remind them after I waited 15 more minutes for the bill again. It wasn't until there was a shift change did we have great service. I'd come back again for the most delicious white sangria but will bring my own ranch. read more

Great food and cute interiors. I liked the potatoe bravas but it wasn't mind blowing like others have described it. The eggs were a great brunch option and I enjoyed it. Portions are slightly small though :( Will visit though for dinner! read more

So many of my friends raved about this place, so I finally went randomly for dinner and it really did live up to the hype! First of all, the place is beautiful. I love the painted glass windows, and we even asked if we could get seated at the corner booth (even though it's just two of us) and they said yes! For drinks, we got the spiked hot chocolate (this didn't even taste alcoholic and they used housemade whipped cream on top) and a festive holiday spritz which also tasted pretty good. Then for appetizers, we got the crusted paella balls, which I've never had as a ball form, but it was so easy to eat and came with a delicious sauce. For the mains, we ordered the short ribs and lamb pasta. The short ribs are an absolute MUST ORDER. So tender and came with crispy potatoes (no need to order the patatas braves if you get this) and some broccolini. The lamb pasta was okay; nothing too stand-out, but the pasta noodles did pair very well with the short ribs. Overall, on a weekday, service was so fast and the vibe was super chill. Very date night worthy! Highly recommend. read more

Outstanding vibe, ambiance, service, cocktails and spanish tapas. This colorful spot on a corner in North Beach hit all the right notes for us after casually stopping in on a random Monday night. We happened to be in the area and stopped in for drinks and tapas after walking around the city and area. We got a cozy corner spot by the window with lovely street/sidewalk views. We really loved our cocktails here. The drinks were super creative, unique and very well prepared. Their version of an old fashioned is unlike anything I have tried before but it was delicious and memorable The tapas were great! We enjoyed it all and can't wait to come back and try more items and hopefully sit outside next time. I know they also do live music outside on the weekend. Super cool spot! Highly recommend it. read more

Was here on a Monday night for a birthday dinner. It was decorated for the holidays and looked cozy and festive. I didn't order drinks but they had an extended holiday drink menu with lots of options! For apps, we ordered 4 plates of patatas bravas which was recommended by multiple folks + tiktok. It was delicious -- perfectly crispy, layered and served with the yummiest garlic aioli. 100% recommend and will be coming back for this alone. For mains, I ordered the spanish fried chicken sandwich. This was really yummy -- the chicken was juicy and had spices on it. The sandwich had some sauces which added to flavor too. The bread was a little soggy, maybe because it was sitting for a bit. It was served with fries and I asked for a side of garlic aioli - this was an extra $2 which I didn't know till the bill came out so keep that in mind. Overall, great service & patatas bravas are chefs kiss! read more

The fried chicken sandwich is soooo good! Ira not basic, really flavorful yet simple, the garlic aioli is to DIE for. The chicken is crispy, juicy and simple delicious. And ofc, everyone knows the patatas bravas are a must. The layers, flavors, and sauce paired on the plate is just perfection. They are currently decked out for the holidays with a cute holiday drinks menu too! I truly would come back for the food here it's so yummy. Only thing, we didn't know the garlic aioli was extra so everyone at the table was asking for a side and we weren't told it was extra either. $2 but still would have been a nice to know! Otherwise, food satisfied all cravings & service was quick :) read more

Red window is one of my favorite spots on the East side of SF! They not only have the cutest interior, but lots of outdoor seating as well & there is constantly live music. Our table was by the window near the band & the music was great while also not being too loud to hear eachother and the servers. We tried a variety of cocktails ( Baycation, Copa De Vermouth, I Dropped the Coconut, Trinidad Sour, Espresso Martini, & Cool as a Cucumber). Everything tasted great & also had really nice presentation. For food we tried the Patatas Bravas, Flatbread with Prosciutto, Lamb Pasta, and Churros. While everything tasted really good my favorite was the pasta. Overall we had a phenomenal time - everything tasted great & the servers were so nice & quick. We will absolutely be visiting again & in my opinion this is a must visit spot in the city. read more
This place has great vibes! Theyre right at a corner and there is almost always a band playing on that corner. There is so much outdoor seating, which is so great for the outgoing north beach neighborhood. The papas bravas were delicious and had a decent sauce. Their drinks were also pretty good. I would like to return to try other food options. The service was also really great and we were checked on often. Great European / Spanish tapa vibe! read more
Considering we came in the beginning of Fleet Week, we were the first people to be seated. I loved the little window nook that the host put us in. The bartender took our order as well as giving suggestions. Heres what I got: Patatas Bravas (5/5): saw this over the Yelp page and had to get it and it was absolutely delicious, was super crispy and the sauce was great Brussels (5/5): I would go back just to get this appetizer, it was the right amount of sauce and chariness to the vegetable that made it taste so good Tagliatelle (3/5): I didn't like olives but overall the taste was great Jungle Bird Drink (5/5): they had popping boba which made the drink delicious read more

It's Fleet Week in the city so it is especially crowded on Saturday night. We had reservations although they couldn't seem to find them but we got seated anyway, outdoors. I like that we can order small dishes to share and mix some entrees. We had the Caesar salad with anchovies (not too salty), crispy paella balls, lamb pasta and beef short ribs. This was enough for the 3 of us as we don't have big appetites. The lamb pasta was very good. One thing about this restaurant is they have very loud live music, so it is very hard to hear each other talk. We were with someone who had hearing aids so they had to take them off because the music was too loud. If you're sensitive of hearing, you probably don't want to dine here. The food was ok and service was good. Not sure if I would come back again, the food was average. Wouldn't order the crispy paella balls again. Too dry. Stick with the pastas. read more
