Really love the mussels and clams steamers. Chefs kiss with a bit of bread for the white wine. The added fries was a good addition for texture and crunch. The braised short rib was delicious as well. Tender and fatty. Love the balance of carbs, meat and vegetables. Being outdoor in the north beach on a sunny weekend is a total vibe.
This is a beautiful european restaurant full of color and character, and fairly busy on a Friday evening. Glad we made a reservation, as I heard the host tell another couple it would be a one hour wait. We were offered our choice of seating and opted for the heated patio which was covered and enclosed and in close proximity to the live music happening outside the venue. The band was talented and entertaining, performing funk and soul, including songs like Ain't No Sunshine (when she's gone) and Lovely Day. Awesome sounds on the trombone, keyboard, bass, guitar, and vocals, courtesy of Daryl Savage Music. The restaurant offers a nice variety of delicious tapas on their menu. We got the arugula salad, crispy paella balls, risotto funghi porchini, albondigas (beef & pork meatballs) which came with toasted baguette slices, and two glasses of sangria (red and white). The beverages were delightful and topped off with plenty of fresh fruit. Each of the dishes were amazing and made with quality ingredients we could really taste. I especially enjoyed the paella balls and risotto. Wow, such distinct flavors that had me addicted. Plating was lovely as well. Also, staff was attentive and professional, and we were pleased with the service we received here. The place is ideal for date night for sure, the setting offering a nice balance of casual and upscale.
Stopped here for some dessert and a cocktail. Service was great. We shared the tiramisu which was delicious and you get a pretty BIG slice. I also got their espresso martini which was ok. It was made with rum instead of vodka so it had an interesting taste. I will come back to try their tapas menu
Really feels like a hit or miss on the food. I have been to Red Window before, at the recommendation of friends, and was surprised to be disappointed by the all the food which came to my table when I dined here before. However, this time I went again with a friend who assured me the food is fantastic and I was a little bit skeptical but it turned out a bit better this time. We ordered a medley of food: the patatas bravas, the flatbread, the albodigas, the crispy paella balls and the crispy cauliflower. I was especially excited for the patatas bravas as I had tasted them before. They were the highlight of my previous time I had dined here. This time was no exception. Exceptionally crispy flaky and fantastic texture with the multiple layers. The crispy paella balls were also excellent, Very flavorful and what a nice slight crunch to their exterior. Unfortunately I was half disappointed by the rest of the food we ordered The flatbread was just alright, and I regretted we didn't do at least one of the add-ons for it as that likely would have improved it a lot. The albondigas were a lot to get through and I'm glad we were sharing the dish. They went well when paired with the other dishes as it was very one-note with getting through each of the meatballs. The crispy cauliflower had good flavor, but surprisingly were far more mushy than crispy. Red Window has a really nice spot on Columbus, great vibe and friendly staff each time I've visited. They have both interior and heated parklet /outdoor seating. However, the food really feels like there's a only a few standouts on the menu and the rest aren't really bringing more to the table. Peek at other reviews before you go to get an idea of the hits on the menu.
I've randomly stopped by this place on at least two occasions now. Cocktails were fantastic, and the food is unexpectedly refined and really good. The patatas bravas are perfection, and I really enjoyed their smoked salmon crostinis as well. For sf, the prices are also reasonable. Would love the opportunity to try other dishes in the future!
Came here for brunch and honestly had a great experience. The restaurant has a really vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with colorful walls, unique chairs and both indoor and outdoor seating that makes the whole place feel lively and relaxed. For drinks, they offer a wide variety of cocktails, beers and even mocktails. I decided to go with a mimosa and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. You can tell they use fresh orange juice because the flavor was perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too acidic. Food wise, I ordered the Spanish Burger and it did not disappoint. The burger was fresh, flavorful and clearly made with quality ingredients. It paired perfectly with the crispy fries. The staff were attentive, friendly and service was quick, which made the whole brunch experience even better. Overall, this is a great spot for brunch whether you're a local or visiting the city. I'll definitely be coming back.
This place is such a vibe Highly recommend this place they have live music. It seems to be like on Fridays and Saturdays. It's very cute, beautifully decorated, and cozy feeling I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy any of the food since I stopped in for drinks, but the drinks were beyond delicious and very on them for the holidays The staff was incredibly kind and made every drink feel special Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area
Beautiful Space, amazing service, lovley drinks! We Sat Ont he heated patio and it was such a nice way to enjoy the bussling city while still being toasty. Great cocktail menu and they tasted great, and mocktails too. Our server was so kind, attentive, and always checked in on us! The food for me was just okay. The serving and price were reasonable and quite big would definitely return for drinks again but probably not for food. There are a few vegetarian options!
I'm not sure the bands name but the lead singer was lit. King David, a Nigerian king indeed. Vocals and band had many dancing in these streets. It was fabulous people watching. The live music schedule is on their website but I wish the band names were listed to return for more. I grabbed a table at Red Window for an hour. We sipped on festive cocktails ($17) in very fun mugs. If you really must know, the mugs are from Target. But the moment, priceless. The holiday decor at Red Window will get you in a festive mood, guaranteed.
randomly found this spot. was craving a burger and saw the chicken sandwich on the menu. started with n/a passionfruit drink (cool kids menu). SO so good. loved it. truly felt like a cool kid. the coconut mojito mocktail was also pretty good. for starter, got the crispy paella balls. they were pretty good. id get them again. for main, got the spanish fried chicken sandwich. I wasn't a fan of how the chicken itself was cooked. not like a regular chicken breast. not sure if it was dark or light meat. but flavors themselves were good. ambiance was really nice. they had indoor and outdoor seating. the service was also quick.
Fun spot for a group dinner! They were very accommodating for a large group of 20 people. We sat outside in the heated covered patio (dog friendly also). It was very easy to make a reservation through OpenTable. The service was a little chaotic and they forgot some things/messed up who got what but that is expected with a group of 20 people. I appreciated the staff's patience and efficiency as they took our order. My favorite things I tried were the holiday eggnog drink, short rib, patatas bravas, and the mac and cheese. A little pricey for what it is, but I enjoyed the vibes of the place. The Christmas decorations were up which made the whole area feel super festive and cozy!
THE BIG: Italian restaurant located in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. Super lively and energetic area of SF with the restaurant boasting indoor/outdoor seating options. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here for dinner after exploring SF and worked up an appetite. We didn't have a reservation but it was early enough that we were able to snag a walk-in table outside. There was also live music that kept us entertained on the corner of the street. We ordered the braised short rib, risotto funghi porcini, crispy paella balls, brussels, and patatas bravas. My favorite bite was definitely the patatas bravas. They are cubed and layered in a nice mouth feel way. The risotto funghi was a lil too salty for me but still enjoyable. Second favorite bite was the brussel sprouts. Service was a bit slow and I had to wave them down even though there was almost no one in the restaurant. That's the only ding I have to give. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The total bill for this great meal was around $100. Food was great, ambiance was great, area was great. All around a great time :)

Went here for brunch on a sunny Saturday and sat outside. The restaurant had a fun, funky vibe and all the staff were very kind. The food was great but definitely tapas style so make sure to order enough for the table! The meatballs and the blt were the standouts! Would love to come back for dinner! read more

TLDR: Super casual tapas spot in North Beach with great craft sangria flights that can serve a big group of people. Food was good, though nothing blew me away. I'd probably come here for drinks but would try another spot for food in the future! ------ FOOD: 1. Patatas Bravas (5/5) - Crispy potatoes and the item everyone raves about. I don't think it blew me away but it was definitely good and did its job! 2. Braised Short Ribs (4.5/5) - I liked them. Pretty tender and what you'd expect from a more casual tapas place. I thought the portion was pretty reasonable. 3. Mac N' Cheese (4/5) - Pasta was cooked perfectly and the dish was definitely cheesy, but it could have been slightly more flavorful with a different cheese blend or some more salt 4. Crispy cauliflower (4/5) - Pretty good overall but not that crispy ------ SERVICE: They were able to squeeze in our larger group last minute which we were thankful for. This is a no frills place but I thought the service was quick and the staff was friendly ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Located in North Beach quite close to Washington Square Park * It's a busy street so Ubering is probably your best bet * This is a no frills place so think more hole-in-the-wall vibes, small dining room with a handful of tables inside and some more outside, and lots of people coming in and out read more

This is a wonderful spot for happy hour which is tues-thurs, 4pm-6pm! I totally recommend the patatas bravas and albondigas which were bursting with flavor. The presentation of the drinks were so creative and unique. Overall, the service was great as well. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is that the portions are a bit small for the price. read more

Ok food but none of the dishes really hit, especially considering the price. The patatas bravas was $13 for 8 very small pieces of potatoes, though it was cooked well. I was disappointed by the tagliatelle ($24) which was overcooked, and the sauce was pretty bland. On the other hand the churros were undercooked and fell apart when we picked them up. The ambiance is amazing especially on a warm day dining in the patio. The service is also good so no complaints there. Just food wise it felt quite average overall. read more

We came for dinner with our dear friends! It was a saturday night and it was hopping!!!! We got olives, nice variety and warmed! Meatballs were huge, great flavor and sauce was yummy! Paella balls were not too heavy, great flavor! Flat bread was thin and crisp and delicious flavors! Veggie pasta had a nice kick and pasta was cooked very very well. churros were a bit too doughy on the inside and the chocolate tarte had an overpowering berry flavor. drinks were awesome!!! Service was quick and friendly and stealthy as well! The only downer is it was unbelievably loud!!!!!! had to shout!! But a great vibe and festive!!!! read more
Loved this place! The live music, tapas and sangria were all great. I went for a birthday dinner in a small group and a pitcher of sangria ($60) split 4 ways left everyone with around 2.5 glasses. The cups were also nicely decorated! They didn't do anything special for the birthday, so if you're looking for that I'd go somewhere else. Every dish we tried was delicious and the service was fast and attentive. Will definitely come back! read more

Delicious tapas! Lots of options with potatoes. We ordered the patatas bravas which were good, but didn't stand out as much as the other reviews made it seem. The potion size was also much smaller than I had expected. The best tapas for me was the churros. Tasty and great texture! The live music outside was also on point, but at some point during the morning, the music stopped. Be prepared to spend quite a bit here. I definitely did not leave full, but it is tapas... read more
===TL;DR=== - Patatas bravas - Gambas - Crispy paella balls - Rojas sangria ===TMI=== Came here for a snack after a show. It wasn't too bad sitting outside, you get to people watch and stay cozy with their heater. While sitting outside, people passing by hinted the potatoes was a must get (as they were leaving the restaurant). We looked high and low and can't find the "potato" dish folks recommended. Thank you google, PATATAS was THAT dish. It was very interesting since I didn't expect potatoes to be rectangular. It was thinly sliced and fried - how fun. My favorite was the gambas cause it has shrimp -drools-. The balls were ok. Maybe it got cold but I wasn't impressed by it. Ooooh, they don't play with it comes to their sangria, it was strong. Usually it's light sweet and fruity but I can taste the wine here. They're good for gatherings since you can try more appetizers. Personally, I enjoyed other tapas places more flavor wise. read more

A great spot for cocktails, I liked the space and the service. It's a fun place to grab a drink with friends. The sangria was a little sweet and had fun garnishes. I like the dole whip drink too! Always a fun time and they occasionally have live music outside too! read more

Drinks and overall ambiance were very good! My main complaint boils down to the tapas menu. Ordered the patatas bravas and expected what most Spanish style restaurants would serve. Instead we were given 8 (yes 8) pieces of potato assembled on a plate with dollops of ketchup and splash of what I believe was mayo? Lacking the normal sauce patatas are served with, red window either needs to rename this appetizer on their menu or clarify to patrons when ordering that this is NOT traditional patatas bravas. read more

10/10 -- hands down the BEST Christmas bar in San Francisco. From the moment we walked in, the festive vibes were immaculate. Em was our server and truly MADE our day--so warm, fun, and attentive that everything felt effortless. The holiday drinks were delicious and perfectly festive, and we left feeling joyful, excited, and fully in the Christmas spirit. We had the best time and loved every second. Love, love, LOVE this place. Do yourself a favor and come to this bar now! read more

Really cute date night spot that take reservations and has fast service. Got a bunch of apps and of course sangria. The standout was the patatas brava in which each layer of potato was thinly sliced and fried to perfection, rather than one giant chunk of fried potato. I really liked the octopus salad as it was refreshing. Blooming mushroom was a bit too dry/ over fried (?) but I liked how it was greasy like you'd expect to be. Overall would come back to try their pastas and for casual gatherings too! read more
