North Beach is filled with old bars, dive bars, restaurant bars and strip club bars. The Devil's Acre is one of the few newer bars around that feels brand new, but beautiful and elegant. The decor and motif is somewhere between late 1800s Victorian and early 1900s with touch of Steampunk. Love it! The lone bartender gentleman made a tasty lavender cocktail...not much in terms of personality though on a quiet Sunday. Most importantly...the Devil's Acre has the best restroom/water closet in all of North Beach! It was a big, clean, modern space...I honestly felt comfortable doing a full number two/deux/dos/yee/zwei/due/duas/ bio movement. read more

Excellent drinks, great location, inviting atmosphere; what else are you looking for in a cocktail lounge worth a visit? The Devil's Acre is a standout in the area and for good reason in my opinion. My only note is sometimes they are out of the ingredients for a few of their signature drinks, which is obviously a bummer, but they do have other crafted options to imbibe. read more

Best part of the night was here. Stopped in with my friend because it was not crazy crowded and realized we loved the vibe and the music. Had a lovely chat over drinks. Loved my blackberry mule recommended by the bartender. read more

Drinks were strong (in a good way) when we went in it was around 8pm on a Sunday and there was only 1 bartender on staff so service was a little slow but she was very communicative letting people know who would be next up. Nice atmosphere and good vibe read more

This is a huge space! Lots of seating and enough to have intimate conversations. There is the bar (be careful cause there are steps to walk up to it - and it's a dimly lit place) where you can order different types of cocktails. Also there are big windows so you can look outside and watch the people go by at the different bar locations. read more

Super classy vibes while still being super welcoming to the clubbing/barhopping crowd. Very subtly gothic and fits the name "Devil's Acre" to a T. I only stopped in for a cocktail and it was great, especially since it wasn't something I'd usually lean towards. Most of their drinks follow a 'new-age old-fashion' recipe with cucumber, citrus, and herbs. 4* because the bathroom cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The sun was still up, not late enough for the mess that was in there. read more

Review #925 Posted on 9.10.25 We came here for drinks after dinner on Saturday the 30th while in The City. It's pretty close to Little Italy area in in my opinion a nice part of the city. The inside is way bigger than it looks before you walk in, plenty of places to sit. They had a DJ there, you grab your drinks from the bar, then go grab a seat and hang. The prices were fair, bartenders nice people. I'd comeback again for sure to hang out for a few drinks after dinner. read more

I really love this bar, I've been multiple times. The service is always very fast And the bar tenders are friendly. The drinks are delicious. And it's very dark and moody in there. Great for a date or just with a couple of friends that it's never really crowded. Parking can be a little tricky in that area, but it's definitely worth it read more

We were actually trying to visit a bar across the street but they were closed for a private event. Locals directed across the street to Devil's Acre. We arrived to a mostly empty bar and were able to secure seats at the bar. We always prefer the bar as we can converse with the mixologists. From their home page: "Step inside to sample a time when the difference between a saloon keeper and pharmacist wasn't much, and both were prone to prescribing a variety of alcohol based mixtures that were supposed to "cure what ails you." I can testify that yes indeed a few of their craft cocktails will either cure what ails you, place you in a great mood, or both. These are true craft cocktails so be patient and some will arrive with picture ready garnishes. I stuck with a few bourbon based cocktails and Plus1 opted for their version of a margarita. I did not realize that there is a speakeasy type bar downstairs, next time for sure. Definately haver a cocktail or two at Devli's Acre to cure all that ails you! read more

Stopped in for some cocktails and shots before a show in SF and honestly loved this spot. The vibe and atmosphere were perfect for a Saturday night. There was plenty of space and the staff were super friendly. I can't remember one of the bartender's name, but he had long curly hair and was awesome to talk to. He even recommended their sister bar Long Weekend, which I definitely want to check out next time I'm in the Bay Area. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good drinks, good energy, and great service. I even made a short video for my tik tok lol :) read more

Trendy and hip bar with Willa devilish theme decor from the furnishing, drink menus and services. The clients are mostly locals with age from mid 20s to 30s when I was there on Friday. They have a live DJ later on the night and was playing popular music from yesteryear and modern. They also have a downstairs with an additional bar but limited selection. All the high end drinks are upstairs. The basement is cozier and darker but equally dark. read more

This is a fun bar right on Columbus Ave. Their specialty cocktails were deliciously made in a way you might not even taste the alcohol. If you're just feeling for something classic, they got you on that too. Bartenders were friendly and the vibes were great on a Friday evening. This should definitely be on a bar hopping list if you're in North Beach! read more

I visited Devil's Acre for post dinner cocktails recently. It's a pretty large space with different lounge style seating. I didn't see any table service but we opted for the bar to people watch. After scanning the drink menu, the blackberry mule caught my eye & I chose that. It's flavorful, strong & refreshing. My friend ordered a Devil's Manhattan & he said that it was balanced well. He mentioned that there's a speakeasy downstairs but it was closed (although it was a Saturday night). Bartenders are nice & helpful. A live DJ started mixing beats around 9PM & he was pretty good too. read more

My friends and I stopped by here after dinner and we are so glad we did because this bar wasn't too crowded and had really cute Christmas decorations! They had a live DJ and some people were dancing by their tables, it was such a nice vibe. I ordered an espresso martini and it was really strong but I like that. It was a little lacking on the espresso taste though. I also ordered a lavender cocktail and it was both sweet and slight sour, it was a very refreshing drink, it didn't taste too much like alcohol. I also bought some birthday shots for my friend, the tequila never disappoints. The drinks are super pretty too! read more

Went here on a Saturday night, and went downstairs to the other bar - it was like a mini speakeasy down there! I would definitely come back here! read more

Stopped in here for drinks and were really blown away. The DJ was blasting some early 2000's hits, the bartender was super helpful and had some great recommendations and the drinks themselves were delicious. Really enjoy coming here for cocktails before or after dinner whenever we're in North Beach. There's always open tables. The place is kinda dark and has a great vibe to it. Came in a group of 9 on a Friday at 9pm. There was lots of open seating on the floor. You order at the bar, they have a variety of cocktails to choose from. There were 2 bartenders and were very efficient in servicing my group. I am a person that likes fruity, light, and refreshing drinks. I ordered the blackberry mule and it was exactly what I wanted! The only con was the music. The music was WAY too loud when the room was only half occupied - could barely hold a conversation. The choice of music selection was also pretty random and choppy, constantly switching up songs midway. Overall 4/5, drinks and vibes were good. Music was way too loud for no reason. There's also a speakeasy downstairs that was closed on Friday... :( read more

I love this bar when we come to North beach. One of our favorites in this area. Always has plenty of room with an old world feel. Drinks were true craft cocktails with fancy garnishes. This place is perfect for drinks. Due to covid restrictions, they constructed this professionally built outdoor dining area into the streets. I ordered a cocktail, chicken tenders, and fries. My cocktail was not only pretty, it was yummy, and strong. I was feeling the alcohol right away. The chicken was tender and delicious. I absolutely love the batter. The fries were really good, too. It comes with a side of garlic butter. Who doesn't want butter on their potatoes. The service was great. The staff are friendly and on top of it. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in San Francisco to try another fun cocktail. read more

The Devil's Acre is one of primer locations for libations in not only the North Beach area but, in fact, in all of San Francisco. In other words, this is a great bar and/or drinking establishment. I'm writing this review during the time of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Devil's Acre has set up very nice outdoor tables for you to enjoy your drinks in safely separated seating arrangements. Meaning, you will feel safe sitting back with your family or friends and tilting back one, two, three, or even more. Of course, they also have a great indoor environment which, hopefully, we will all be able to enjoy again in the very near future. This establishment also has a pretty good short menu of what may be considered elaborate bar food. They have a nice selection of chicken, rice, fish sticks, and fries to enjoy with your drinks. The staff here is always very nice. So, you'll be sure to great, friendly service while getting whatever it is you desire. read more

Came back to this bar, ordered a cocktail with Mezcal but I don't remember the name. It was terrible, I had such a long lasting aftertaste after having a few sips, I didn't even finish my drink. Amazing cocktail, amazing service, and an awesome ambiance. I would suggest this to any one looking for a nice drink!

Came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed inside. The Devil's Acre has a nice ambiance inside, dimly lit but still has a lively crowd with music playing. Bartenders were nice and service was standard. I didn't enjoy my drink but that was definitely on me. I will for sure come back to order something else and give it another shot. I will say this bar is located in a great area. You could walk over to Chinatown to bar hop or over to North Beach. read more

Great bar on the North Beach/Chinatown border. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, even though this bar can get very busy! I was surprised the last two times at the great suggestions from the staff here, and went with one of their creations. I noticed a few larger groups, so they have room for 10-12 if you need it, but the room is setup for more intimate groups of 2-4. With their great liquor selection and friendly staff, The Devil's Acre has regularly been our night cap spot for the last few years. read more

This was my first time here and I must say that this is a very cute spot to hang out for drinks. I came here for a Santa Teresa and Teeling whisky promotion. Staff was very help and nice. They also educated me on all the different types of drinks that they make. These bartenders do take their time to make you a good drink. You can always tell because they got to oranges, lemon, mint, rosemary garnish going. When you see those at the bar you know your going to get good drink. They drink pricing looking at their menu is pretty reasonable. There were some from drink specials starting from $13 to $15 dollars which is very reasonable these days. I also loved their DJ. They played some good old school music that bought back so many memories. They also played some new stuff as well. Overall, this is a good spot to sit down and have a drink with a date. They have outside seating as well. I will say if you are going to drive make sure you give yourself some time to park. It is very close to ChinaTown, so there is limited parking. Also, some of the parking spots now are all occupied with the outdoor seating so there there is less. However, there is parking lots if you can't find any. Overall, a really cute spot to hang out. read more
