North Beach is filled with old bars, dive bars, restaurant bars and strip club bars. The Devil's Acre is one of the few newer bars around that feels brand new, but beautiful and elegant. The decor and motif is somewhere between late 1800s Victorian and early 1900s with touch of Steampunk. Love it! The lone bartender gentleman made a tasty lavender cocktail...not much in terms of personality though on a quiet Sunday. Most importantly...the Devil's Acre has the best restroom/water closet in all of North Beach! Super classy vibes while still being super welcoming to the clubbing/barhopping crowd. Very subtly gothic and fits the name "Devil's Acre" to a T. I only stopped in for a cocktail and it was great, especially since it wasn't something I'd usually lean towards. Most of their drinks follow a 'new-age old-fashion' recipe with cucumber, citrus, and herbs. 4* because the bathroom cleanliness left a lot to be desired. This is a huge space! Lots of seating and enough to have intimate conversations. There is the bar (be careful cause there are steps to walk up to it - and it's a dimly lit place) where you can order different types of cocktails. Also there are big windows so you can look outside and watch the people go by at the different bar locations. read more

The inside is way bigger than it looks before you walk in, plenty of places to sit. They had a DJ there, you grab your drinks from the bar, then go grab a seat and hang. I really love this bar, I've been multiple times. The service is always very fast And the bar tenders are friendly. The drinks are delicious. And it's very dark and moody in there. We were actually trying to visit a bar across the street but they were closed for a private event. Locals directed across the street to Devil's Acre. We arrived to a mostly empty bar and were able to secure seats at the bar. We always prefer the bar as we can converse with the mixologists. From their home page: "Step inside to sample a time when the difference between a saloon keeper and pharmacist wasn't much, and both were prone to prescribing a variety of alcohol based mixtures that were supposed to "cure what ails you." I can testify that yes indeed a few of their craft cocktails will either cure what ails you, place you in a great mood, or both. These are true craft cocktails so be patient and some will arrive with picture ready garnishes. I stuck with a few bourbon based cocktails and Plus1 opted for their version of a margarita. There was plenty of space and the staff were super friendly. I can't remember one of the bartender's name, but he had long curly hair and was awesome to talk to. He even recommended their sister bar Long Weekend, which I definitely want to check out next time I'm in the Bay Area. I visited Devil's Acre for post dinner cocktails recently. It's a pretty large space with different lounge style seating. I didn't see any table service but we opted for the bar to people watch. After scanning the drink menu, the blackberry mule caught my eye & I chose that. It's flavorful, strong & refreshing. My friend ordered a Devil's Manhattan & he said that it was balanced well. He mentioned that there's a speakeasy downstairs but it was closed (although it was a Saturday night). Bartenders are nice & helpful. My friends and I stopped by here after dinner and we are so glad we did because this bar wasn't too crowded and had really cute Christmas decorations! They had a live DJ and some people were dancing by their tables, it was such a nice vibe. I ordered an espresso martini and it was really strong but I like that. This place is perfect for drinks. Due to covid restrictions, they constructed this professionally built outdoor dining area into the streets. I ordered a cocktail, chicken tenders, and fries. My cocktail was not only pretty, it was yummy, and strong. I was feeling the alcohol right away. The chicken was tender and delicious. I absolutely love the batter. The fries were really good, too. It comes with a side of garlic butter. Who doesn't want butter on their potatoes. The service was great. The staff are friendly and on top of it. The Devil's Acre has set up very nice outdoor tables for you to enjoy your drinks in safely separated seating arrangements. Meaning, you will feel safe sitting back with your family or friends and tilting back one, two, three, or even more. Of course, they also have a great indoor environment which, hopefully, we will all be able to enjoy again in the very near future. This establishment also has a pretty good short menu of what may be considered elaborate bar food. They have a nice selection of chicken, rice, fish sticks, and fries to enjoy with your drinks. I was surprised the last two times at the great suggestions from the staff here, and went with one of their creations. This was my first time here and I must say that this is a very cute spot to hang out for drinks. I came here for a Santa Teresa and Teeling whisky promotion. Staff was very help and nice. They also educated me on all the different types of drinks that they make. These bartenders do take their time to make you a good drink. You can always tell because they got to oranges, lemon, mint, rosemary garnish going. When you see those at the bar you know your going to get good drink. They drink pricing looking at their menu is pretty reasonable. There were some from drink specials starting from $13 to $15 dollars which is very reasonable these days. I also loved their DJ. They played some good old school music that bought back so many memories. They also played some new stuff as well. Overall, this is a good spot to sit down and have a drink with a date. They have outside seating as well. I will say if you are going to drive make sure you give yourself some time to park. It is very close to ChinaTown, so there is limited parking. Also, some of the parking spots now are all occupied with the outdoor seating so there there is less. However, there is parking lots if you can't find any.
