An amazing buzzing vibe if you wanna catch any Bay Area sports team playing, whether it's the 49ers on a Sunday the Warriors in the finals or the San Francisco Giants fantastic spot for sports beer and friends read more

Have been here loads of times now, even before I moved to Hayes Valley. This place has TV galore, fairly priced drinks, and delicious (but not healthy!) food from I think a few local restaurants on the menu! They also put their TV schedule for sporting events online, which is great! I've had the loaded curly fries and loaded tots. My boyfriend has also got the fried chicken sandwich from the bird. All were great. Apparently they also have super duper burgers -- didn't know that, but I think the bird is owned by super duper? Anywho, great place to come watch a game and grab drinks. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this spot! We tried to go to Dobbs bar but it was closed. Heading to another spot down the street, waiting at the stoplight, I turned left and saw a new bar! They had plenty of outside seating with hanging space heaters. Inside there was a whole bar room and a "garden" bar room. I believe the food comes from the old Dobbs bar. The drinks were great. Reasonably priced non HH time. $9 for an Italian white, $12 for the Yuzu 75. Curly fries at $4, nachos at $8 ($)? They had salad, burgers and cauli bites too. Lots of beer options, service is great and prompt. Couldn't be happier to find this new spot in hayes. Hassle free, if you know what I mean, coming out of the pandemic. read more

A solid sports bar in Hayes valley. If you are looking for a rowdy sports bar look elsewhere. If you are looking for low key drinks while watching Sunday football, this could be your spot. They are connected to the Bird next door for food. read more

Good food at competitive prices! The menu is limited and rather simple, but I am always impressed by the quality and quantity of food you get for the price (especially in a city like SF). Highly recommend the (spicy) fried chicken sandwich. Of note, you walk in, seat yourself, scan the QR code, order (and pay) online, and then get your food brought to you. Efficient in some ways, but can backfire. The last time I went, the system refused to take my card despite multiple attempts, so I had to stand awkwardly at the bar for a few minutes before someone helped me out. Once I finally had their attention, they were very nice and offered to take the order in-person since the website was not working. However, definitely was a frustrating start to the meal. Overall worth a visit if you are looking for a casual place for food/drinks after work. read more

It's in the name! Afterwork Bar is an awesome place to hang out, especially after work! Stopped by with some coworkers here one Friday afternoon/evening and we definitely enjoyed it. When looking for chill/cheap places to hang around in downtownish area, we came across this place based on their happy hour. They had a nice selection of snack foods ($1 wings too) and a few drinks available. We tried their nachos, loaded tater tots, curly fries, and fried cauliflower. Everything tasted good and was perfect for sharing. The margarita pitcher was good too, not too sweet and was actually pretty strong. Aside from the food, the environment was very friendly, chill, and filled with good vibes/energy. The servers were very attentive and nice. If need a place to hang out, with coworkers or anyone else, def give this place a try! read more

Really great happy hour deals on food and drinks. There's a fun atmosphere thanks to the staff and the games on the TVs (as well as games for groups to play on the tables in the back). It was a chill place to hang for an hour or two on a Wednesday afternoon; I headed out when it started to get rowdier shortly before trivia. read more

Super chill and fun place in hayes valley to come with friends to hangout, watch game or to just chill. Had their cocktails and French fries which were both delicious. They have zenga on the tables if you want to play and their outdoor patio area is really cute. read more

Best afterwork bar!!! They have a great happy hour menu, pitcher of margaritas and beers for a very decent price. This place extends to the back, very good for big groups. Had a super duper burger too! Was so good! The service was also really good. Highly recommend!! read more

Great atmosphere! Enjoyed playing loiteria, great vibe and friendly staff! Enjoyed while on vacation!

A great place to go - after work! Recently visited to celebrate a colleague's promotion. Our group commandeered two tables for about 12 people. For noshing - TASTY loaded tots (these were my fave - lightly fried and airy, nice ratio of toppings to tots), good wings and nachos, all washed down with pints of beer and cider. They have a full bar and cocktail specials but I stuck with cider for the evening. Noise levels can be high at times so be ready to use your outside voice inside. An order of wings was forgotten but we weren't charged so a minor miss. Besides, playing Jenga with buffalo wing fingers is not the business. The rest of time, service was friendly and accommodating. Overall, I had a great time and AWB will be an option for future after work gatherings. read more

5 stars for a 4-close happy hour on Mondays! From Tuesday-Friday, happy hour is 4-6. I stopped by after dinner across the street on a Monday and we ordered margarita pitchers and fries to share. Such a great happy hour deal, with each margarita basically being only $6 when you get a whole pitcher! There's jenga to play at each table too. If you're a sports fan, you can catch a game or two here. read more

Nice spot to hang out and watch a game. The TVs were a solid 10 seconds behind so that added stress to the intense games. Margarita pitchers were less than expected for the price. read more

I went to afterwork bar for trivia night on Wednesday and it was so much fun! The music category was my favorite. My friends and i got a pitcher of margaritas and it was so good the bartenders were nice and friendly. Great time definitely will be back read more

Super fun place to go to if you aren't really feeling like going to a club or a bar. After work bar feels like going to someone's house after a night out. While we enjoyed our time, walking in was so awkward. Nobody greeted us and we couldn't tell who was working versus who wasn't. The bartenders didn't even glance our way and we walked around the entire place about 2 times before we decided to just sit down at a table. Come to realize that you actually seat yourself (?) and then order using a QR code on the table. Front of the house is like a typical sports bar and the back has more larger picnic tables where you can play games at! I got the nachos and the garlic fries! Meal was cheap and we enjoyed it, no complaints except for not being greeted or even acknowledged that we came in. read more

A fun spot to come for a happy work... perhaps after work? they also have themed nights each day of the week! the vibes are great, with both indoor and outdoor seating & tv screens everywhere for those who are sports fanatic (not I) After Work Bar aslo has great deals for HH when it comes to shareable apps (tater tots, nachos, etc) and drinks (our party got the margarita pitcher!) so it's really great for groups. The best part IMO is that they sell The Bird & Super Duper! A great chicken sandwich joint & a great burger joint! Fun, modern, trendy-- fits right into Hayes Valley, right? Afterwork Bar was our first venture into the bar scene in this district. Contrary to their name, my friends and I swung by around 8 Saturday evening. Very much felt like I was at an after-work happy hour-- so, Afterwork Bar, you win. For COVID safety purposes, vaccine cards are checked, staff and patrons must wear masks, and hand sanitizer is distributed ceremoniously. Surprisingly had table service for our drinks-- and seeing the other reviews now, it seems like their food's worth a shot. We shared a pitcher of cider. Don't recall the type, but it was moderately-priced, delicious, and perfect for a light-drinking group of 4. NOTE: Music is EXTREMELY LOUD. We tried sitting in their back room with the picnic tables and plants, but the tunes are B L A S T I N. We could barely hear each other over the 2000s throwbacks. But the environment is much more of a watering hole than a dance floor (see: bright lights, sports TVs, and tables galore), so I have no idea what they're going for. We had to head out after a few because it was impossible to hear each other. Maybe good if you like to yell? read more

A great place to come after work, or to catch a break from work. Definitely come for their happy hour (M-F, 4-6pm): $20 pitchers, $5 loaded fries, and $1 wings. Their menu is a collaboration between Super Duper Burgers and The Bird, so the food is BOMB. Beer (4/5): It's just beer, but a pitcher for $20 is not too bad! We squeezed about 5 drinks out of it, so it's a bang for your buck. You can choose from a variety of IPAs, Pilsner, or Modelo. Loaded Fries (5/5): Man, these fries went PERFECTLY with a pitcher of beer. We loved them so much we order the loaded tots right after. It's crispy and crunchy even with the sour cream and melted cheddar on top. And the bacon bits...were *chefs kiss.* Service/Ambiance: Our servers were really nice, checking in on us and bringing everything in a timely manner. We sat outdoors, which had a beer garden/sports bar energy. There are long tables (great for big groups), string lights, and two TVs playing the baseball game. Would definitely come back to watch a game! You can check out their game schedule on their website. read more

Wow. From start to finish I was impressed. I'mgoing to cut right to the chase. No foreplay here. Spicy fried chicken sandwich was absolutely dynamite. Full transparency: it's from The Bird kitchen, but that just means you are getting that GOOD good. Bun was solid, great structural integrity. Chicken was thigh, thick and a well calculated breading ratio. Spice was perfect. A HINT of scalp sweat, but far from unmanageable. Slaw was fresh and had a great crunch. Pickles seemed to be made in house, fresh, not too salty. OVERALL: this sandwich gets a FIRM 9/10. My only wish was that I had two. Pretty good beer selection, great service, good ambiance, etc. Our server(s) were attentive, gave honest opinions on the food, and were an important part of the experience. WOULD recommend that they sauce their wings with a bit more enthusiasm. If they have the NHL package I'm going to camp here from fall until the end of spring. read more

Great restaurant and bar! I've come here a bunch of times after work (how profound) for great Super Duper burgers and a pitcher of beer with friends. They have trivia, lotería, and the Warriors games are always on when they're playing. Service is friendly, quick, and thorough. read more

Good and relaxed Happy Hour atmosphere Greta spot for a nice and affordable happy hour in Hayes Valley! The location is nice and they have plenty of indoor and parklet seating with plenty of TVs and have a schedule of select sports game events they have at the bar. Food & drink- 4/5 Pitcher of beer: $20, solid beer and they have a couple of options to choose from Loaded fries 4/5: Solid loaded fries (they also have a loaded tater tots option that I also tried) for $5. Good balance of saltiness/ crunch with the bacon and cheese topping. Good bar food Tip: A lot of people were trying the nachos so I'll be sure to try it out next time Ambiance / Service- 4/5 Great for the chill after work bar that it is, service was nice and they came to check in to make sure we had all of our HH orders in on time. read more

Solid alternative for parklet happy hour on a sunny afternoon when other watering holes were packed. Happy hour till 6pm on weekdays featuring $20 pitchers of beer and $30 pitchers of margaritas. Couple of food options too including $5 veggie nachos or loaded fries/tots. You can also get items from the bird/super duper if you want something more substantial. Service was friendly and attentive even in the outdoor parklet area. Nothing outstanding but a chill watering hole to consider for happy hour in Hayes. read more

Came here for the first time and now the last time. I ordered a 2 pours of a liquor, different brands, & they charged me both times for the top shelf which I only had 1 of. When I bought it to their attention, they had to "research" what their rail price was. I'm still waiting for an answer and it took 10-15 minutes to get them to fix it. The curly fries are better at Rally's/Checker's as well. They get 2 stars for the upscale sports bar vibe otherwise it'd be 1 bc at least they have a "top tier" brand of the liquor I prefer. And by that I mean the lowest tier of the brand. read more

This is a fun enough spot (absolutely great for larger groups) but the only options for food and drinks are the Bird and Super Duper, which are fine, but not so unique. I think it would be cool if they had a bigger bar area or maybe more food options, because I think I'd rather just go to the bird or super duper purely for the food. Overall a solid spot to meet up with friends/coworkers, but less so for solo/date dining. read more

A casual bar that lets you order The Bird and Super Duper Burgers? A Wednesday trivia night that awards winners of each of the 9 rounds? A prime location in the heart of Hayes Valley?
