Ordered and walked out in the span of 10 min. Very italian deli with tiramisus and cannolis. Tons of italian snacks and puff pastries, and a convenient location to pickup anything from beers/wines to premade cannoli shells and gelato. One thing to note is you cannot customize the sandwich, not sure about the pizzas, which smelled delicious. They only make speciality sandwiches on their menu, but surely can't go wrong with any of the choices. They're packed with a sizeable amount of meat as well as greens. One of the best top (definitely top 3) vegetarian sandwiches in the Bay Area/California. My partner had the Goodfella Sandwich with Roast Beef, Prosciutto, Salami, Provolone Cheese with Organic Mixed Greens, Tomato, Basil, Pepperoncini, Black Pepper, Olive Oil& Balsamic Vinegar. I always get the Veggie on ciabatta with extra roasted bell peppers, add havarti & cheddar, no mixed greens with balsamic vinegrette on the side. The latter two modifications are because the sandwiches are HUGE and I can only eat half at a time so this helps to keep the Veggie from getting soggy. Somewhat of a hidden gem for the deli's in SF. When I searched up "best deli's in San Francisco" this place barely even came up. I had the tuna salad sandwich and it was phenomenal. I saw that people claimed that Limoncello were serving up the best sandwiches in SF. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, so I had to give it a try while I was up in the area. The shop is pretty cute. Has a nice Italian deli vibe to it. Cured meats and stuff hanging and all that good stuff. I have to admit, the menu was a bit overwhelming, and some of the sandwiches seemed very similar in description. So, it was a bit of a challenge narrowing down what I wanted. That said, the sandwiches I tried ended up being quite good. The best I've ever eaten? Probably not, but the best I've had in SF? Quite possibly, yes. Came here to grab a quick lunch to go and ended up really liking this spot. The space has small grocery section and a deli counter. Definitely the kind of place locals stop by regularly rather than a one time visit. I got the caprese sandwich but made it spicy. The bread was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. All the ingredients tasted fresh, and the spice added a ton without overwhelming the classic caprese flavors. Because it's part grocery store, the drink selection is way better than your typical place. The staff was also super friendly, they even gave my dog some meat! For those who get food, they have counter seating plus a few tables outdoors. Service by the staff was friendly and efficient. They're also dog-friendly inside, and the pup had fun sniffing around! I honestly don't eat deli meat often or crave an Italian sandwich, so this was a treat! I got the Siciliano Sandwich, Dutch Crunch, No Cheese and Pepperoncini. Companion had the Goodfella, Dutch Crunch, No Pepperoncini. They mixed up our sandwiches and didn't label them correctly so it took us a while to figure it out. Once we did we dug in and it was so good! The quality and freshness of the meat and veggies were superb! My companion commented that they loaded the greens up compared to other times he'd been there. The sandwiches themselves are massive and I only ate half of mine, so it's great to save for later! Limoncello has a few locations in the city, the Sutter Street one being their original. I got a Veneziano sandwich and the eggplant Parmesan which they warmed because I dined inside, but you can also order for takeout to heat at home. It's a shame I don't like tomatoes because they're looked beautiful, but the Mafiosa without mortadella hit the spot. This was my first meal of the day so I polished it off, but you could easily split one with a friend or save half for lager. Drink menu: They have a few wines and beers available for dining in. This time around I had the STS Pilsner which was good. My other go to is a sparkling wine. The service is no nonsense and the owner is friendly. They have a market of specialty goods that I always browse but haven't found a reason to buy yet. Limoncello popped up on Yelp and I'm glad my wife called it out. You walk in and there is meat hanging from the ceiling and you know you're in a legit deli. Multiple people working behind the counter. BEST BLT I have EVER had! I'm not joking. It was PACKED with bacon that was high quality and the bread was strong enough to hold it all together. I asked for no Mayo because I'm weird and I believe they put olive oil on the bread which was a pro move. They also have Russian River beer on tap and in bottles. I'm in HEAVEN! Large and cute deli filled with tons of Italian foods. We came for sandwiches. My hubs and I actually just got one and shared because the sandwiches are huge. We got the Mafioso which has prosciutto, turkey and mortadella. It's $19 but worth it for the size. A 10 for the sandwich, it was fresh and very tasty, the bread (which imo is the most important part was perfect) we also go the feta cheese and beet salad on a bed of arugula. It was fresh , the dressing was perfect. It was a bit short on the beets and cheese but a very good salad all the same. We also looked at the pastry counter and decided on a piece of tiramisu and a cannoli. I'm a bit of a tiramisu and cannoli snob. Both were pretty average. The tiramisu was lacking flavor. I couldn't taste any rum which is an important part of tiramisu and I'd say it was a 4 out of 10. The cannoli which they make in house, was a bit better but still lacking flavor. As far as service, the person making the sandwich wasn't very friendly and the younger guy at the counter was a bit surly like he didn't want to be there. Not very friendly to us but before us, he was talking and laughing with an older couple in another language , I think they were friends of the owner. I got the Porchetta, based off the recommendation of the worker, and it was pretty good. We don't live in the city and couldn't trek back to get another salad or ... we also ordered the eggplant sandwich on dutch crunch. Opened the wrapper--it was on a soft roll (which I hate). The customer strive and ordering process is sort of a phoning it in process--and it has nothing to do with a telephone. I mean the guy behind the counter operates by rote, and has a bit of a surly tude. I can happily deal with attitude--but I need the goods to back it up.The people behind the scenes, making the sandwiches, filling the orders, completing the process from front end to back end ... all of it gets lost in translation, and in this case, we didn't get what we paid for. It's a phenomenal market with all things Italian, super authentic and an exciting deli, the ravioli was complete bomb, moist and so so yummy, but the service needs to level up. They need to up their game because it's inefficient. I bemoan the paid or and never gotten caesar salad, which I was super excited to try. Assuming they get the order right, the prices are fair. Got the porchetta sandwich on dutch crunch bread for around $20 post tax -- quite pricey but it's a huge sandwich. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the balance of fillings or the bread. I expected the dutch crunch to be a bit more flavorful, but it didn't add much except texture. There was a bit too much arugula which overpowered the meat.
