i'm going to miss salty's when i leave the city! the workers are so so kind- especially the gentleman working the front. i had come in near closing as my ride had been late, and instead of closing up, they encouraged me to try something and i'm glad i did. this was the best pastrami sandwich i have had. much better than katz in nyc. i ended up going two times and ordering a turkey sandwich (which arguably was also the best i've had). even after taking it up to yosemite, it was amazing. the pastrami was tender and perfectly seasoned while the dutch bread remained crisp and delicious. they use fresh ingredients and i would die on that hill. i'm personally not a fan of raw tomato, but i order it to try and make myself like it-- this was the first time ever that i enjoyed a tomato on my sandwich! it was sweet and ripe with the crunch of the lettuce-- just what it needed. i'm also not a fan of mayo (but will still eat it!), but the garlic aioli was so creamy and not too overpowering. the second time around unfortunately they didn't have the dutch bread so we opted for rye. now usually my mom and i aren't fans, but wow does salty's make it work. personally i think the rye was a better decision than the dutch bread! even after the long hike, the bread wasn't soggy and held everything together perfectly. i tried sandwich toppings i thought i might not like and ended up wanting it forever. this is now my must-go whenever i'm back in the city. thank you salty's for giving me fomo when i leave !! I went halfsies on two sandwiches from Salty's and color me impressed. They were decent sized, yet light, fresh and tasty. We went with the #1 and #2 - and both were so tasty, but I'd give my vote to the chicken pesto sandwich however, the turkey on dutch crunch was also so tasty. The only note: I'd ask for light mayo. There is so much going on in the sandwiches, less mayo would have let those other ingredients shine even more. Sandwiches are about $16/$17 a pop which is sadly the going rate for tasty sandwiches these days. 100% I'd return for a filling sandwich lunch. read more

The Glorious Bastard is so good! I loved how many ingredients is in it and how it's almost like a simple, yet flavorful turkey sandwich too because of all the veggies in it. Solid spot for tasty not too Salty samiches! I ordered the chicken salad Sammy w errrting... they had me at bacon ! Samich was assembled quickly and grabbed some Voodoo chips too. I've had Salty's bookmarked on Google Maps but haven't made the time to go or wasn't in the mood for a sandwich when I was in the neighborhood until recently. Owner is very friendly. Pretty busy around 2pm on a Friday afternoon. I was admiring their fun and extensive sandwich menu, particularly the Glorious Bastard. However, my eyes (and wallet) were especially drawn to the Breakfast Sandwich. At $6.50, it's a steal and a darn good sandwich. The bread was delicious and it was a great complement to the egg, sauce, and cheese. Will be back just for this. They have books inside, some cute artwork, and a few tables. Easily one of, if not the best sandwich I've had. I travel a lot for work and my favorite food is sandwiches, needless to say I've had A LOT haha. Salty's popped up on my yelp and I had to try it. Staff is great and friendly. The sandwiches are big, fresh and absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and grab one, you won't be disappointed. Bonus note, the place is very clean and welcoming. I get a sandwich here *every* time I visit my ophthalmologist across the street at the Eye Institute - it's a treat to look forward to. Sandwiches are inventive, delicious, big. So, where to start? We chose this place because it was close to a medical appointment and O.M.G. did we luck out. The place is small, clean, well-stocked. We were greeted warmly when we walked in by the owners, Shadi & his dad (sorry, forgot to ask his name!). I ordered a breakfast sammy & my friend got the avocado toast with a fried egg. I mean it when I say they were both 11/10 in taste - perfect ratio of ingredients, perfect crunchiness & overall appearance. I got a mocha that was one of the best I've ever had & I've had a LOT of mochas. I want to add something else that was very important to me. My friend & I are Jewish & lately, in SF & elsewhere have felt less safe in public places. This little sandwich shop is run by a Jordanian man & his father & we felt salt & comfortable in their place. I approached Shadi & told him this & it made him very happy. I usually go for the Glorious Bastard, which has turkey, bacon, and avocado with a garlic mayo on Dutch crunch. I usually am full after eating half because they're quite large. I also like the Instacran, which has turkey, cranberry sauce, and a za'atar cream cheese. The half I saved got soggy later in the day, but it was still yummy. They now have breakfast sandwiches, toasts, and salads. I'm glad that they're expanding their menu, and I'll need to come back to try more items. They have a few tables for indoor door dining. I usually get mine to go. I always found it easy to place my order by phone, and it's ready by the time I walk over there. The people who work there are really friendly.
