Menu July 2025

I got the reunion and added jalepenos. It was SO SO good. It was also pretty huge. I had my boyfriend to get it for me so I can't speak on the ambiance or service but the sandwich itself didn't disappoint. Updated menu! July 2025.

Bring your appetite because the sandwiches are HUGE! Absolutely delicious & fresh ingredients & the bread with crunchy yet soft. Great food! Busy spot, but definitely worth the search for parking.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, they are massive and full of fresh ingredients. The Dutch crunch was awesome. Parking is tough and paid on the street unless you go over a block to the neighborhood.

Hands down best sandwich in the marina, perhaps even in sf. A couple of caveats: it's pretty pricey for a standard sized meal, definitely save this trip for a special occasion! One sandwich will cost you around $18 of not more. Secondly, they are busy so order ahead if you don't want to wait as long. Prep time is still around 15-20 minutes. Third, check your order before you leave, I ordered a Coke 0 and received a Diet Coke, and us Coke 0 girls know how big of a difference that is I will be back for sure next time I'm craving a delicious sandwich for a special occasion.

Two thin slices of meat for a $20 sandwich

So disappointed with this place. If you want a $20 sandwich that's super messy because it's soaking in sauce and only has 1-2 slices of meat and full of vegetables, then go here. They charge $3 extra for "extra meat" and add maybe 1 slice. The meat portion is so tiny. Even Subway does better. Order from Bite Sandwiches instead where they make real sandwiches, not a pile of soggy vegetables between bread.

Nudged them to a fourth star for heart and great service. I really like these guys and want to see them succeed. That said, they need to look at their menu ingredients and rebalance. I ordered the Red Balls (meatballs, provolone, onions, jalapeño, marinara) and Spicy Bella (Buffalo chicken pepper Jack cheese, jalapeño, ranch). Both sandwiches were good, had quality ingredients but the amount of sauce in the Spicy Bella was overwhelming: Buffalo sauce and ranch dressing poured out of my sandwich. Didn't have a single complaint from The Incinerator who nearly downed his meatball sub before I took a bite; it was tasty. The Spicy Bella had a delectable amount of juicy chicken. What it needed was balance and texture. I added crunchy romaine and it came to life. It was a counterpoint to the spiciness (advise less sauce & jalapeños too). I gave the owner the secret Buffalo sauce recipe. I wouldn't be surprised to see Buffalo wings make the menu - or used on the Spicy Bella. (And no, you may not have it!) Prices are a touch high ($17/$19 subs) but they don't skimp on quality ingredients. Recommend.

Walking towards the Presidio and the Marina, I came across Marina Subs and saw it's been there for over 50 years. Of course I had to look it up and turns out the original owner had left but it was reopened with new owners. Looking at the photos of the sandwiches before and after, it's a night and day difference. Although the size of the sandwiches have remained the same. Looking at the menu, there's plenty of cool options and crazy combos so I decided to take a chance on the Atomic Sandwich. It had a few different meats, jalapeños, oil and vinegar and veggies. It was light on the meats and heavy on the bread. It didn't come with jalapeños, instead it was banana peppers (two completely different flavor profiles) The size of the sandwich reminded me of little luccas in SSF but I thought the overall flavor of this sandwich was lacking. I got it on sourdough roll, but unfortunately the bread didn't taste fresh. There was so much bread, it would help if they cut out some of the inside of the bread so the meats have a nice canoe to sit in. The sandwich with a tip came out to $22. I think for the flavor and quality, it wasn't something I'd order again. It wasn't the tastiest sandwich, but I think with a few minor tweaks they can get this right. The people inside were really nice and they were pumping out sandwiches really quick. If I return, I think i'll definitely go for something with dutch crunch and something that includes mayo or some kinda spread because the sandwich I got was too dry for my taste.

Finally got to try this place for lunch and it didn't disappoint! I asked the worker their most popular sandwiches, and The Reunion was one of them. I ordered and got the sandwich within 10 minutes! First of all, it's huge for the price you pay (a little over $16). I'll be having the other half for dinner. The Dutch crunch was toasted so it was warm and crispy. The best part was the pesto and turkey plus the pepperoncini. By far one of the tastiest sandwiches that I've had in awhile. I do think they should have a better vent to help with the smokiness when they're cooking. I did end up eating there and felt like I was eating inside a kitchen. Other than that, I would come back to try their other sandwiches.

Affogato

Best place with the best taste in San Francisco love there espresso with ice cream my fav made by the owner himself!! Always my go to for subs and a snack

for a $20 "sub" there should be more than two thin slices of deli meat on this. I shouldn't have to pay an extra three dollars for one or two slices of turkey. I've always loved the spot, but this makes me not wanna go back again. The sandwich was all mayo and bread. Very disappointing and I feel like I just wasted $20. When your customers are paying $20 for a sandwich, you should put more meat on it.

If you all had a half sandwich + soup combo I'd be there 2-3x a week. Any thoughts?

I got the tri tip special with garlic butter and swapped the Swiss for pepperjack. The meat was sliced thin and really tender, and the garlic butter a perfect addition. I'm not usually big on sauces, but they have a good variety of house options if that's your thing. We'll definitely be back. I was also happy to see they have another location in San Bruno.

Indeed the Twisted Street Cafe is one of my favorite all-time breakfast places in San Francisco. I moved back up two years ago. It was important to me to identify the best breakfast houses since breakfast is one of my most important meals of the day for me. I spent a couple weeks, trying out various places. In frankly was quite leery of anything on Lombard Street due to traffic, congestion, dirt and noise. And there were a few that I tried that were not worthy. When I came across the Twisted Street Cafe, I Immediately, I knew it was different. Small, boutique, but fresh fresh fresh food. This is the type of restaurant who remembers your name and I remember your favorite orders As an example, I was working from home and on a series of conference calls so I ordered Twisted Street Cafe from DoorDash. I clearly didn't pay attention to my order and it made a couple of errors on what my usual would be. They knew it was for me, somehow, and called me to verify if I wanted it done my regular way or the way it was came across their order. Of course I want it done the way I would normally have it, and I thanked them profusely for recognizing the mistake and helping to correct it for me. Their food is fresh. Their smoothies are incredibly tasty and fulfilling. They are located on the ground floor next to a very nice boutique hotel. I usually get takeout but on weekends, I'll choose to sit outside in the sun. Clearly, they have fantastic employees who are passionate about their job and really get to know their customers. Highly recommend Twisted Street Cafe for great food and consistency. 5-stars!!

Egg salad sando / 7-Eleven: Best egg salad sando I've had…read morethus far in the city. Better than the more popular Japanese eateries/cafes. The bread is nicely soft, moist, and not too thick. Crust is light. The third slice helps break up the richness of the filling, and by being so thin (but not too thin), it keeps the overall bread:filling ratio in a good spot. It also helps give some friction, lessening the amount of filling that oozes out the back and sides when you take a bite. The filling is creamy, rich, and well seasoned. A pinch of something something to zhuz it up might be a nice option (maybe relish? Japanese curry powder? Furikake?), but as is it's a very solid basic egg sando. Besides the culinary side, at the current $10, it's reasonably priced. Chicken Caesar wrap: The salad tastes notably fresher than most other CCWs I've had and it's not too stem-y. It's close to what you'd get at a nice sit down restaurant, as opposed to some overdressed slop at a buffet table. Mine was a smidge light on the chicken, could've used a few more of the nicely seasoned croutons, and could've been rolled a bit tighter, but I would (and will) order it again. Service was friendly, feeling like a nice little neighborhood spot.

Their menu consistent of 8 sandwiches which they rotate and typically offer 3 different styles daily. THE CAESAR WRAP! It is fresh, it is high quality, it is humongous. All of their offerings have great ingredients and top notch flavor. My biggest takeaway is that these sandwiches hold up well and don't get soggy!!!! We picked up around noon and ate them a few hours later and they were still perfect. Prices vary around $18 - $20, which is pretty typical for this portion. I can stretch it into two meals or my bf and I share one. (Has inflation gotten so bad? I feel like this is a bang for your buck!)
