Stopped for a quick coffee before making our way to the golden gate and we were very pleased! We ordered two iced coffees, a bagel sandwich, and a croissant sandwich and all were delicious! I thought this place was just a quick sandwich spot in my friends neighborhood. I wasn't expecting anything amazing. Was I wrong. I ordered a ham and cheese on a french baguette with onion, lettuce, mustard. It was absolutely amazing, it came out warm which I wasn't expecting. The bread was so soft and the flavor was perfect. This place may not look like much, but it is easily one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. They have a variety of bagel sandwiches for breakfast and other styles of sandwiches for lunch. My favorite breakfast item is Avocado Everything Bagel Sandwich and the best lunch item is the Korean BBQ Sandwich. (Make sure you get them with jalapeno. Now beyond the items being great, it is SO CHEAP. I mean, way cheaper than other options in the Marina and so much better. I will always be a loyal customer to this place. read more

We were looking for a quick breakfast and coffee before heading to Alcatraz and ended up at first cup. The coffee was pretty weak. The bagel sandwich I got was ok, but it wasn't anything special. It's a pretty standard deli kind of place. If you're looking for something inexpensive and fast, this is a good choice. read more

I was staying at a nearby hotel and saw the great reviews for this place. If I wanted hot coffee, they had a convenient side station for it. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I got the Iced coffee, and the blended taro drink which I highly recommend. My fiancé got a breakfast bagel and an iced mocha and loved it. The woman working behind the counter was very nice too! Definitely going to stop by again on my next trip. read more

THE BEST deal for a breakfast sandwich in the area. If you are staying near the Fisherman's Wharf area this is worth the trek. Just a simple "mom n pop" in an area let alone a City where this is scarce. You can go to your reliable comfort zone of a chain where they unwrap your breakfast from it's plastic wrap or come here and support some people making your stuff fresh. I had a simple bacon, egg, cheese and avocado wrap. What made their breakfast sando different was she toasted it and it came out like a quesadilla suiza. SO GOOD. read more

You can't find hours for this place bc it looks like it's own and ran by an Asian couple who will open and close whenever they feel like it Korean BBQ sandwich on Dutch crunch for $7.50 - a way more reasonable price for what you get for sandwiches on Polk st! First Cup tag line should be, "good food, nothing fancy." I got an Everything Bagel to go, with lox and cream cheese and it was good. Great service and decent prices. Would recommend! According to Yelp, there aren't any "bagel" place in the Marina/Cow Hollow area of SF. But, First Cup was the first non-chain that served bagels. One of the best sandwich places around the Marina. For $6.50 for a roast beef sandwich, this place is awesome! Loved the sandwich selections and the ingredients felt fresh. Line was short and they toast the bread to perfection. Other places toast the bread as hard as a rock.. Glad this place don't because I was hungry. Haha! One of the best Korean BBQ sandwiches I've ever had! In one day I went there twice! I also ordered the rice and teriyaki but it wasnt as tasty. For dinner I ordered a Korean BBQ and roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was good but after having the Korean sandwich, it made that beef a chump! If ever youre in San Francisco, you need to try this place out! The cute Asian couple were nice and had good customer service. I'm a meat monger. Me, love a vegetarian sandwich? Only here! First Cup is a gem in the rough, a tiny little place that almost doesn't exist except for a bustling bus stop that helps people discover it. If you blink while driving down Van Ness and Chestnut you'll totally miss it. It's also closed on Sundays (aggro!) but that's a different story. Come for the avocado sandwich and feel what it is to live! On my first visit I whoofed down a loaded - and I mean loaded - french roll with mayo, jalapeno, lettuce, and all the veggie fixins. It was so good that my associate (who also inhaled his) threw down for another one which I'm lucky to have split. I washed it down with delicious french roast priced at a bargain buck fifty plus five for the sandwich. We felt like we robbed them. Nice folks run it, modest interiors, packed with school kids during lunchtime and walk-ins from the bus stop. Limited seating within, smallish menu, and lychee juice. They also sell cantina-style meats and rice on the left side of the store which I must try next time I return. Oh, and credit cards are accepted by there's a .50 surcharge and the minimum is $10. Note the various quirky signs about outside food and extra $1 charges if you dare enter this establishment with external nutrition. I'm almost tempted to try it to see how many days I can do it with a smile until they kick me out. I think I'm the only person that will find humor in this. read more

I would usually come here for a Korean BBQ or Spicy Chicken over rice. I would have to say the rice here is a bit hard and the meat in the rice is not that good either with too much sauce. I would come here only because the food is better than Galileo's school lunch. read more

The Brie was well balanced with the figs. The website said it came with a "fig mostarda" and my partner never had that before! (2) Peach Melba ($10) - also very unique and flavorful. I was surprised by the raspberry inside. (3) Gochujang Pimento Cheese Twist ($8) - this was OK. It was actually my second time getting it (wanted something vegetarian and savory). It was better this time and a pretty pastry but not super flavorful. We were able to get this pastry warmed up (they shared that they don't warm the ones with cream). (4) Chocolate Chip and Toffee Cookie ($8) - chewy, thicker cookie. Probably one of my favorites now. Total: $40.19 There was indoor seating within parachute bakery, but you can very well grab your pastries and go sit by the water. We parked further away as we always do and rode the street car (F) in, so we didn't have to deal with the bustling streets of the pier. Love the fact that they bring in seasonal ingredients.
