Was in North Beach walking around and found this little cafe on the corner and decided to get a cup of joe!!! When I walked in was greeted by a gentleman behind the counter, not sure he's the owner of not, he was pleasant. They were a little busy and the cafe was 75% full. I got a vanilla latte, which tasted great, not too sweet. Perfectly made. They have a few options on breakfast pastries and bagels sandwiches. Almost everyone in there had a bagel sandwich, must be good. I will have to try when I'm in the area next time. There are some historic photos on the wall, I thought that's pretty cool.

I was looking for a coffee place close to the restaurant I was to have dinner at. I found the business on Yelp and decided to grab a caramel macchiato (hot) and a cold brew while we waited for our dinner reservation. The drink was exactly what I needed, a quick pick me up, the balance between coffee and milk was perfect. The cold brew was just as you'd expect as well, very smooth and no harsh bitter aftertaste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The exterior has a red banner so it's easy to spot several blocks away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's right across the street from the laundromat. The patrons were either students, or people waiting for their laundry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe inside is quite small but ample seating inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall great spot for coffee!

I ordered the turkey avo BLT but with no bacon (don't judge), and an Americano that tasted great. Staff was so kind, and while the food and coffee took a while, it was definitely worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything from the friendly people to the yummy food makes this place a "this is our spot" kind of cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried the lattes, cappuccinos, fresh egg sandwiches, macaron, and cannoli. 10/10 no notes on all. Small cozy cafe tucked away in North Beach, not on a busy street. Came here to work a bit and the ambiance was good for working -- not too loud, not crowded on a Friday afternoon, lots of seating both inside and outside, and they have a clean restroom. Not sure if there is free wifi (I didn't ask). Got a chocolate babka to snack on and it was very good! A little pricey (just under $7) but filling and delicious. Lots of drinks on the menu and pastries too. Their sandwich options looked really good as well! Owners were friendly.

The bagel was good, the rest of it was bland. We took it to go to eat by the water and regretted that immediately when I realized there was no seasoning on the eggs. The eggs were also dry and it needed a sauce. Very dissapointed and the prices were very high for what you get.

Wanted to grab some breakfast in the North Beach area. As soon as we entered we were greeted immediately by the owner (I think), and the he was super friendly. Got two bagels: bacon, egg, and cheese and Lox both with the everything bagel. For the drink, got a dirty chai latte. The only thing I could say was that my dirty chai latte was not hot and was more on the room temp to warm side. Other than that, I would def come back. read more

This ain't just a cafe, this is THE cafe.. The owner takes pride in his cafe, he knows his menu and his customers. We were welcomed in and quickly served. We even witnessed the owner find a purse in a nearby booth which he quickly and carefully hid behind the counter until the owner returned to claim it. Owner was honest, welcoming and respectful during our visit. read more

I was a paying customer here and the owner got FURIOUS when I tried to eat a piece of food from somewhere else. That's fine if you don't allow outside food but I was very disrespected by the someone working here not sure it if was the owner I'm pretty sure it was. Has that guy ever heard of the concept of asking nicely? I was happy to comply with his no food policy but the guy got so mad at me it was ridiculous. 0 customer service here. 0 hospitality. Absolutely trash. Stay away from places who disrespect their customers and don't know how to ask nicely. Never been more disrespected before at a restaurant. Ridiculous. Learn to at least be nice to your customers. I was happy to comply to his rules, but it was just so shocking to have the guy yell at me instead of asking nicely first. read more

Sean is the sweetest man! You can tell he really makes a connection in the beautiful neighborhood. I had a pretty standard breakfast of a bagel and cream cheese and an iced vanilla latte. My bagel was delicious and the addition of butter with the cream cheese made it perfect. The coffee they use is delicious because I had a different latte later from somewhere else and all I could think about was Caffe Capriccio! Thank you Sean for being so sweet read more

I arrived 5 minutes after they opened. And got attitude for the fact that they were not ready, like it was my fault. Maybe put your opening hours as 730 instead of 7. If you can't manage to get there on time. ... Now he has responded with a nasty attitude so I dropped it another star. If there was a zero I would give it to him. ... Now he has responded yet again to say he hopes that next time I will choose another coffee shop. I can guarantee I will never darken his door again. And I hope you won't either. read more

We recommend the turkey and avocado blt sandwich, it tastes amazing and filling. The owner is very friendly and kind. A sweet little gem of a cafe was exactly what we needed after walking through a sea of chains for breakfast. Located on a corner in a quiet neighborhood, it gave "locals love this place" vibes that made me want to stay awhile. Alas I had 2 loud teens with me that would have disrupted the quiet morning crowd so we got our breakfast to go(this had been the plan anyways). Our group ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese bagels(needed cream cheese but that's the consumers fault for not reading the menu carefully, otherwise each element was yummy, especially the bagel) and 2 avocado toasts( delicious, even had a drizzle of olive oil, tasted like mine at home, and that's hard to beat). We waited for our food on the bistro tables outside and people watched, it was a lovely early morning experience for all. read more

Mixed feelings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On one hand, it seems like the coffee and ambience are pretty standard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner man's the whole cafe and cleans it himself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For a small cafe, it's decent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, I have to be honest when I say that the menu is a bit bland. It doesn't have any dishes that left a distinct impression on me. Probably just because I'm not a sourdough person, but I'm sure there could be alternatives to that. read more

I travel to SF fairly often for work and this is my favorite cafe to come to. It is right next to where I work when I'm in town and it has never disappointed! The sandwiches are great, my favorite is the Sicilian which is simple and perfect. The coffee is delicious, I generally order a dirty chai latte with oat milk. The owner is one of the friendliest people around. He always has a smile and you can tell he loves what he does. There is indoor and outdoor seating, it is nice and cozy inside. I always feel relaxed when I am here. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

The summer vegetable hash comes with beans, squash, tomatoes, corn, carrots, peppers and eggs. I typically associate hash with potatoes, but surprisingly this dish does not come with potatoes. The dish was fairly mild, with most of the flavor coming from the individual vegetables. It's definitely a lighter, healthier take on hash and would be a good option if you're looking for something with more vegetables. I went to Cafe Cappricio last night and must say I was extremely impressed with the atmosphere, the menu selection and the waitstaff. I had heard of this restaurant through several friends but this was the first time I had gone. We were a table of 4, each having an appetizer, entree and dessert. The appetizers were sufficiently sized for one, although we each had a taste of each others plates. Our entrees ranged from a homemade pasta dish, a vegetarian selection, a seafood choice and a beef option. All were delicous. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the grilled tuna. Our server Jennifer was engaging and attentive. When asked for a wine recommendation, she asked us several questions regarding our palettes and the bottle selected was perfect for all. Best of the best I follow coffeeratings.com so when I read their review of Cafe Capriccio I naturally wanted to see why they named it 8th out of more then 600 San Francisco coffee establishments. I was nervous about the change of ownership. But also kind of exited since I wasn't a big fan of their food before. So after this cafe just reopened I was pleasantly surprised about the changes. First I was bummed that they changed the coffee brand. But I do have to admit that the new one is even better. Nice and strong, exactly how I like it. The ambiance is SO much better and the sandwich I tried today was great (prosciutto). The granola I tried in the morning was made with a mix of fresh berries and very tasty as well. It really has potential now to be a nice wine/evening hang out as well. They just could have turned the music a bit louder since all you could hear was a weird bass sound. The couple that runs it is super sweet, so I hope for the best. read more

I discovered this place during my first week after moving here from NYC. It made me really, really homesick. I travel quite a bit and have seen what goes for Panini in many places. Most of them miss the , excuse me... soul of a true Panini. New York seems to be the exception. Seems like you can throw a rock in any direction of any borough and hit a place that serves a great authentic one. Cafe Capriccio gets it right and combining that fact with the free wi-fi, the cozy, non-frenzied atmosphere and great shots make it a favorite place of mine to just hang and decompress.Some of the other reviews comment on the prices but hey...this is San Francisco after all. In that context, Capriccio seems pretty reasonable to me. read more

starting with a latte it's creamy good flavor but I still fail why? It's cold latte.... I say to start Lunch combo..... Half sandwich and soup I ordered half sandwich and soup but I don't have a lucky, because They forget to warm it up the soup .no mention they don't make fresh soup .... Okay... I just buy the sandwich coming with a side salad.. fuck me was hot outside cold inside the water off tomato make soggy inside. . I say zero start.. nasty side salad and old no flavor read more

The owner is rude and disrespectful to his customers and shows no patience and respect to first time visitors. There is reason why there are negative reviews about this and I can confirm it's true. His reply on these reviews speaks for themselves - he will learn hard lessons on this in long run and I would not expect any changes from him but just leave a comment here for others reference. read more

Skip this place. The food is so so and the service slow. I saw a customer told to take the sandwich that was presented to her even though she didn't order it and doesn't eat ham!! When she said so they made her wait another 20 minutes for a sandwich. This is customer service - like it or lump it? Plus the guy behind the counter gets rather nasty and rude. This was the first place I ate when I got to San Francisco. Minus three stars because my bread was a little too 'chewy' (still can't quite describe it), but plus one star because the folks behind the counter were so nice. In fact, they still waved at me and said hi whenever I walked by for about a week after my first visit. read more

Cute little cafe in the deep of North Beach. The coffee is blah but the food is a little more than blah. They serve their sandwiches with really yummy balsamic dressed salad. It was okay. Seemed really chill just like the workers. One of the workers liked my cat hat so that added some extra charm :) read more

Great find! Early morning delicious breakfast, wih excellent coffee and cappuccino, in North Beach neighborhood. All staff members were friendly and attentive. Had a great talk at an outside table in the morning sunshine with Gerardo, the new owner. He couldnt have been more gracious. read more

To my understanding this place has changed ownership since my first review. It meets the needs one has for a nice neighborhood coffee shop. Stop in for some espresso before hiking the hills to Coit Tower. I absolutely loved having Capriccio as my neighborhood spot. read more
