This was a place in downtown SFO, we loved the location, and its cozy vibe. The server was patient while I picked my order and was very patient answering all questions. I ordered the iced Cuban latte with an extra espresso shot, and it was delicious!! The condensed milk added a great texture to the drink, which was a very distinct taste. Definitely a place I'd try once again!

The food was good, the service a little slow, but the ambiance was surprisingly nice. This is a very busy little cafe, a couple of of blocks away from the hotel I was staying at. I was looking for a late breakfast, and this place seemed perfect. I got a slice of ham and burrata quiche, that came with a tasty side salad. I also got a pour over coffee and a bottle of water. The quiche, salad, and coffee was delicious. A perfect spot for what I needed.

The vanilla latte was aesthetically pleasing and was deliciously rich in flavor. The fruit bowl with yogurt was picture perfect and bursting with fresh flavors. It felt clean and every bite was harmoniously balanced for someone that likes a semi sweet taste. My daughter had the breakfast croissant and the dirty chai latte. Her plate was wiped clean (that's a good thing). I was very pleased with the location, the vibe, and the food overall. Highly recommend it.

I've been going to Café Central in San Francisco on and off for about 2-3 years, and it's become one of my favorite little stops whenever I'm craving something sweet. My usual order is simple but always hits: a hot Americano and a slice of their apple strudel. The Americano is fresh and smooth every time, never watery or bitter, and the apple strudel is just perfect--flaky, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It's one of my favorite pastries (right up there with bear claws), and they do it really well. The café itself is warm and lively. I've seen it get pretty busy, especially during lunchtime--both inside and outside seating fill up fast. It's clearly a popular spot with locals and people passing through. But when I go after I'm done running errands, it's a nice, relaxing place to enjoy a coffee and treat. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They always greet you with a smile and know their menu well, which adds to the comfortable vibe. If you're in San Francisco and want a great coffee and dessert stop, I highly recommend Café Central. Whether you're craving something sweet or just want a solid cup of coffee, this place delivers. Two thumbs up from me.
Oh my, I've been quite delayed in sharing my experience here because I've been struggling with coming up with something constructive to say. Well, here goes...I got what I ordered. I came here thinking I could have a quick breakfast between appointments. It was crowded mostly with packs of tourists who appeared settled at all the tables. Having ordered the $11.50 Spinach & Mushroom Quiche, I managed a seat at the counter and waited for my order. Accompanied by mixed greens drenched in an oily dressing, the quiche arrived relatively quickly, but it tasted like it was blitzed in the microwave (Photo 4). I'm not certain if that was the case, but it was tongue-burning hot. I waited for it to cool down, but the result was bland. I just think the staff was on automatic pilot. At least my $3.95 Pour Over was warm (Photo 3). So I go back to my original comment..I got what I ordered. I just didn't get what I deserved. FOOD - 2 stars...scorchingly hot and bland wedge of quiche AMBIANCE - 2.5 stars...crowded with tourists SERVICE - 2 stars...I think the staff is missing a quality control step in serving the food TOTAL - 2 stars...I'll take a pass RELATED - Exploring the Financial District? Only four stars because the location isn't the best and there was some crazy altercation involving a pantless homeless guy while we were there. The amazing coffee and delicious crepes are worth it though! Check it out!
We were trying to find a brunch place and we ended up at Caffe Central. Each of their menu offerings has a display, which is really good to know what goes inside of each item! The wait was significant (15 minutes to go) and there were no tables on a Sunday around noon. I got the lox bagel to go and it did NOT look like a lox bagel at all. It looked like a hoagie but had the texture of a bagel (???). Aside from its really strange appearance, the bagel sandwich was fantastic, with fresh lox and avocado without giving me the fish ick. The tomato also wasn't overpowering, which sometimes happens in lox bagels. The coffee was effectively milky bean juice, but at $4.25 I guess I am not allowed to complain.
Originally parked on O'Farell to get down French breakfast at one65. As ever tables were a hot mess so we went next door to caffé cereal where everything is kept clean tidy and as it should be. We were pleasantly surprised by the vast choice. Staff were super patient and efficient. I went for the quiche and breakfast bowl both so flavorful. My daughter's breakfast bagel was super yummy and my youngest Nutella crepe was very close to the real McCoy. Super impressed. We'll be back.
Service was pretty quick. I had a hot vanilla latte and it was wonderful! All their sandwiches looked really good!
Beautifully presented When you walk in, you're first presented with a beautiful array of all of the sandwiches they make. They are spectacularly decorated! It looked so good, I wished I could eat 20 sandwiches! I had the ham and cheese breakfast crêpe. While the presentation was quite beautiful, the flavors were lacking. First off, the crêpe batter was way too sweet! Then the egg was cooked in a way that I did that I did not recognize, although one thing is for sure, it was not over easy! I would totally eat here again! I would just lean towards lunch instead of breakfast. read more
We came here on a weekend for a quick bite. It was moderately crowded but not busy enough to have a line. I was craving a bagel sandwich, so I ordered one and specifically asked them to leave out the egg due to my dietary restrictions. We also ordered a yogurt bowl. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back here. First, they brought out the bagel sandwich with egg. When I pointed it out, it was pretty obvious that they had simply removed the egg from the sandwich and brought the same sandwich back, which I really didn't appreciate. I didn't feel comfortable eating it after that, so I couldn't have it. The yogurt bowl was also disappointing. It was a huge bowl but had very little fruit in it, so it felt like mostly yogurt with very few toppings. The service was probably the most frustrating part. We asked our server for some water and a spoon, and he told us to go get them ourselves. The confusing part was that there was no water station or utensil area anywhere that we could see. We also saw other servers bringing water and utensils to other tables, so we were pretty confused about where exactly we were supposed to get them ourselves. I wasn't impressed with either the food or the service, and unfortunately, I don't see myself returning. read more

My sister and I came into this cafe really hungry. We ordered the chicken club with pesto. The sandwiches all had a display and looked pretty big--so we shared. The sandwich was reallyyyy good. The chicken was nicely seasoned, the bread was crispy--overall amazing. I asked for the bathroom code and they gave me a key attached to a spoon which I thought was strange and also funny. Overall, great experience--would definitely visit again! read more

Needed a cup of coffee while wondering around Union Square. Asked a SFPD Officer standing outside of Macys if they could recommend a good cup of coffee She pointed us across the street to Caffe Central. She wasn't wrong. We were served quickly. The banana bread was yummy and the coffee was pretty darn good. read more

Little rush when order because they just too busy to go on a next client, is great to try their food and worth the try! It is very crowded but good thing inside and outside open for sitting there to eat! Our hotel is just across the street and it is convenience for walking distance! If you are at SF and go try it! read more

First off the Cuban latte was excellent everything else was very medicore. Maybe I ordered the wrong stuff but it seemed lacking in flavor. Prices were OK and lots of seating and quick turnover on tables meant we were able to sit outside! Staff were friendly just food wasn't anything too exciting. Oh well read more

As always, we walked in to this cozy fun place with delicious food and friendly service! It was very busy and very long line but they were so fast and when you walk in to caffe central and you decide to dine in you know that you are going to wait too long to get seated and longer to get your food so be ready! Quality and delicious food worth the time to wait so no complaints! My smoked salmon was mouth melting and the ham and egg was beyond this world i tried it to so it was a great experience and ofcourse it wasn't our first time! It's a short walk from union square and our hotel! read more

I've always wanted to try this place for brunch! So glad I'm here. The place was buzzing at 10 am on a Sunday, but an ordered and found a free table easily. First came my Dirty Chai, a warming, foamy as sweet, and a shot of expresso to kickstart my day. Then came my Breakfast Bowl: two sunny side up eggs with avocado, sliced sautéed mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes, dusted with black sesame over a bed of quinoa. Mmm! Clean, bright and airy with efficient service, I love coming here to take out a quick slice of quiche with salad. Today I thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely brunch amongst the chatter of many languages excited to explore this beautiful city. read more

portion sizes prepared to fill papa bears belly! The chicken pesto crepe was delicious with a subtle pesto and juicy chicken. Same can be said for the chicken sandwhich. The waffles were also soft and fluffy with a tactically crispy exterior. Dense whipped cream reminiscent of the stuff straight from your mother's jar. Everything came with legit fruit not that melon jargon. The bagels left something to be desired as the avocado was picked a couple days too early and the cream cheese was paper thin. The matcha was uninspiring and was closer to goblin green than a true match color. The ambiance felt like an east coast diner in New Mexico, halfway between a Wes Anderson self discovery film and a stop in your family roadtrip. I would recommend stopping by, but remember to use a knife and fork! read more

This is definitely one of the premium cafes in San Francisco. The prices were high, however, the sandwiches and bagels looked quite large, and the place itself was cozy, even though it also looked slightly cramped (but that is also quite normal for all buildings in downtown San Francisco), and it was clean & organized. The staff were kind and helpful in recommending menu items. The restroom had a line, however, it was relatively quick and the restroom was clean. Overall, I had a great experience here. read more
Reasonable option in the area for breakfast / brunch on the weekends. While they have multiple locations in the bay area, this location is a little on the smaller side, both in terms of seating and variety of options. The menu is still pretty extensive and there is probably something for everyone here. This last trip I got a Denver omelette and a detox smoothie. Overall the place is a good mid tier place, above fast food, but not too pricy. Service is pretty quick, but also no frills. They have a large selection of desserts as well, or if you still cant decide there is a nice patisserie next door as well. Overall, this place is solid, and on my regular list for a easy breakfast on the weekends. Also, most of the tables are on the smaller side, but I can see them putting some tables together.. so call ahead if you are bringing the entire crew. read more

I decided to come here to eat since I'm hungry. I'm quite surprised that they have a good location despite the one at Westfield Valley Fair Mall since that was just a food vendor at a food court. I like how colorful the menu is. I honestly thought that this is just a regular cafe, but it's more than that. It's the way that they prepared the food as if it's a five-star restaurant. Food is really good and also like how they display the food from the display bars. It's definitely one of the go to places if you want to stop by and eat if you're hungry. There's a variety of breakfast items and snacks. They also have different types of sandwiches. When we came in we just wanted coffee and snacks. So we picked up a couple different cookies. I got the Sweet Sydney's chocolate chip and Ginger Snap and cafe centrals own chocolate chip cookie. They were soft and chewy like how I like it. The coffee was nice and strong. Service was fast and friendly. You could sit in and enjoy your treats or you can just order to go. Ambiance, it's a cafe: I like their light fixtures. So, there's a counter where you order and a few tables. Nothing fancy. If you're in the city and need a quick grab and go come here. read more

Here in SF for the weekend and stopped by Caffe Central which is a 2 min walk from our hotel. We tried the breakfast croissant and L'amour crepe. The croissant is absolutely DIVINE!!! Perfectly smoked ham, melted cheese and fluffy eggs all on a buttery croissant. The crepe is also perfectly sweet and pairs well with the coffee. We had the iced caffe latte and cuban latte and both were great options! I'd rate the croissant 10/10 and the crepe 9/10. Would overall give this place a 10/10 and would come back again for sure! read more
