    06. Tuna Salad Sandwich (Small 6")

You can't beat the price, quality and quantity at Freddie's! Cheap sandwiches made with care and gigantic. I'm stuffed after eating half of a 6 inches. They stuff the sandwiches to the brim. Ordered the tuna salad and the roast beef. Quick online ordering and delivery. Would order again!

turkey and pastrami on hard roll is my go to here. Add garlic spread or jalapeño spread to your sandwich for an extra kick. Good hardworking people, friendly Service.

It was a beautiful sunny day, so we decided to walk around the city and eventually made our way toward the wharf, where we stumbled upon my old stomping ground. This sandwich shop was my son's go to spot during the three years he attended the middle school right across the street. They offer a special discounted sandwich price for kids. I am not sure if it applies to all kids or only students from the nearby school, but they get their sandwiches at half price, which is such a thoughtful touch. We stopped by on a Saturday and ordered the Italian combo on a soft sourdough roll. At $14 for an 8 inch sandwich, it is really not bad at all these days. The tang of their sourdough is truly unique, unlike any other sourdough we have had, and in the best way. We sat outside, enjoyed every bite of our sandwiches, and happily continued on our way. A simple, nostalgic stop with great food and great memories. Easily a 5 star experience.

This is a classic sandwich spot that doesn't dissapoint! Service is friendly and efficient and the ingredients are super fresh. I usually go for a build your own but would highly recommend getting their pepper spread! Chefs The size, price, and quality keeps me coming back when i'm in the area and need lunch in a pinch.

Yes, the sandwich was good but I'm realizing I'm just not the biggest fan of deli meat. So taking that into account, this sandwich was a good one. The ratio of meat, cheese, veggie was perfect! Just look at the bread - it's truly meant to be admired before enjoying! Took it to go so I can't speak for the ambiance but even though I ate this 30 minutes after it was prepared, I was super happy with the sandwich.

This is exactly what I want in a deli sandwich spot. It's a basic spot that just hits the spot. I feel like SF has lost the plot of sandwiches where everything feels too much and you can never find a BASIC GOOD SANDWICH. I first got it through DoorDash and enjoyed it so went in person and have continued to order online and in person. All times have been great. I love how you can pick out the texture of sourdough bread you want, the size sandwhich, and add things like avocado etc if you please. They also have great chip options and drink options. I will continue to order from them. I just wish they were open on Sunday and open a bit longer but honestly there isn't much (if any) to complain here.

Amazing!!!! The smell. The service. The food. Everything was top notch! We were waiting across the street for a croissant and I decided to take a look. Once I walked in and smelled the food I needed to try a sandwich. They cashier was super friendly and answered my questions with a smile. I ordered the Italian on Dutch bread added peperoncini and provolone cheese toasted! Get it toasted they do it right! We split the 6 inch which was still a lot of sandwich. My plan was to only take a bite and save the rest but once I took that bite it was over lol Perfect amount of crunch to the bread, the shredded lettuce and mayo ratio was perfect. Would come back here for sure!

Perfect neighborhood sandwich spot. Loved the area to sit out sit and enjoy your sandwich and the vast options of chips and drinks to compliment the meal! They definitely have an Italian sandwich down!

Who has discovered San Francisco ? Millions of people have been able to discover San Francisco .There is a street in San Francisco I enjoy discovering in the city with the same namesake and its Francisco street. Lots of great spots on Francisco street and one of my favorite cult classic sandwiches in San Francisco is Freddie's on Francisco street has been around since 1926 which turns 100 years next year. Going to Everett Middle School in the Mission Dolores neighborhood in San Francisco I had a friend across the city who went Francisco Middle School( located across the street) who always talked about this spot growing up and how it was Marilyn Monroe's and Joe DiMaggio's favorite ( as a kid I thought it was a tall tale). Upon my friend's recommendation it became one of my favorite places to grab a good sandwich over the years. My favorites sandwiches are the albacore tuna, Italian combo, and smoked turkey breast. Although it has limited seating I recommend to continue on Francisco street and go to Francisco Park ( 3rd year anniversary is this Sunday) to enjoy your food. Francisco street only goes from Grant street to Moscone ( The Park in the Marina not the Convention Center). Who discovered modern day San Francisco? The Founders of San Francisco was led by Juan Bautista de Anza and Father Francisco Palou. They established Mission Dolores and the Presidio in San Francisco. Modern day San Francisco was founded by the Spanish and it has developed over the centuries and some consider it now to be outlandish Although Joe DiMaggio and Marlyn Monroe's lifestyle was lavish but they enjoyed the simple things in life like the San Francisco Freddie's Sandwich

Decades of Deliciousness! I've been a customer at Freddie's Sandwiches for over twenty-five years and live just two blocks away. When I wanted to update my review, I realized that the comments from my 2016 review still hold true! So, I won't repeat that they still make the best sandwiches for the price, but I will share that I've added their Club Sandwich to my list of favorites. Freddie's Club Sandwich comes with ham, turkey, and bacon, and you can add any combination of mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. The bread makes a huge difference, and if I may, I'd like to give you a hint: Go with hard sourdough bread, ask for it to be gutted out and toasted, and go light with the mayo. You will enjoy it. Their coffee is also pretty good. It's drip coffee only, but the owner is a coffee enthusiast like myself and always has fresh, hot coffee available upfront. If coffee isn't your thing, they have plenty of non-alcoholic options to choose from. Their deli salads are made daily and can be a great companion to your sandwich. The store is small, and there is no room to sit inside, but they have three or four small tables and chairs available outside if you and a companion or two want to have your sandwiches there. The owner seems very serious at first, but after chatting and exchanging pleasantries, you'll find that he's actually a very nice and helpful person, as are the rest of his staff. They sometimes fill in behind the counter if he's not around.

Very good and not gonna lie pretty huge for a small and they give you two. I will definitely come back to this place with my friends for sure! The service was wonderful the man at the front was nice and had no issue with. They also have seats and tables so It's a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the breeze while eating your sandwich. 5/5 definitely recommend since I live near the place.

Some sandwiches come with lots of meats and some are saucy and some get cheesy like some in SF. There are some famous and historical places to grab sandwiches in North Beach like Molinari and Freddie's. There is also a place on Columbus Avenue by Joe DiMaggio playground park on which has a French name and serves up some of San Francisco finest sandwiches and it's called" Le Sandwich ". On a Winter season stroll in the beginning of 2026 , I landed at Le Sandwich. This place has lots of sandwiches available made by Chef Elias. I decided to try their Primo ( means Prime in Italian) sandwich. I have to say this is one of the tastiest sandwiches I had in San Francisco. It had meats which were tender such as Genoa Salami, coppa, and ham. It's has melting provolone which made it cheesy like some in SF. They also have FikaLove which is baked goods available like chocolate croissants and cinnamon buns for Fika( Swedish for Coffee break). San Francisco is the place where you can get international foods without the" jet lag" by a park close by were as a kid I use play "tag"and the sandwiches are so big they stick out the " paper bag "and inside has of lots decor from international countries including the "USA flag". I have tried this place before and it's local to San Francisco and I wanted to give it a whirl in person. On a Spring stroll down Lombard and Van Ness where the hotel and motel signs are over mile deep I wanted to try an American favorite which are pizza pies. Pizza pies have become more American than apple pies these days . I went inside Chico's and tried their pepperoni and sausage before Good Friday approaches. The pizza slice was kind of cheesy like some in SF and it had pepperoni and sausage but not too saucy . The dough was pretty doughy but flakey like some in SF. It reminded me of some old school style of San Francisco pizza which is good paired with a case of beer.
