    Fried shrimp

Happy hour all day! $6 house margs and $5 beers drew us in to this lil tourist trap at Fisherman's Wharf. Casual eatery in the middle of San Francisco's most popular destinations, so location and views are great. There is a public parking lot and public restroom adjacent. Indoor seating and patio available. Watch out for birds! The house margaritas are worth stopping in for. Service is welcoming and attentive (and should be good because they tack on a $3-4 employee surcharge, that is not the tip). Most of the menu is the typical fried seafood (shrimp, calamari, fish), clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, and crab that's on every menu at San Francisco's seafood restaurants. Prices aren't bad, but the food was just mid, so I wouldn't mind paying more somewhere else for better tasting food and ambiance. But you know what was the best? The mf tarter sauce!!!!! That sh*t was delish! And the grilled sourdough bread for the crab salad sandwich. So crisp and buttery. Crab salad itself was ok. Clam chowder was served nice and hot and was the right consistency but lacked flavor. The bread bowl was good but cold. Still blows my mind that these restaurants serve cold sourdough bread! The fried shrimp was ok but on the smaller side and the fried cod (?) was the same. It is what it is, and I'd recommend for the tourists who don't want to wait an hour for a table and just need to sit and have a cold beer with some fried seafood and be a part of San Francisco life!

I checked the menu boards at all the places right on the wharf and these prices were pretty much the exact same for a bread bowl with clam chowder. The other items seemed similar but this place had burgers too, as well as other options. The lady who took my order was so nice. I wasn't sure on the crab or clam chowder so I asked what she thought was better and she let me sample both. I went with the crab. It was a little sweet but also had a little kick to it. The clam chowder was really good too. My husband got the fish and chips and he liked them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't see any inside dining options but outside in this area is best anyways.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was an amazing experience here. The food was delicious, kids loved it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very family friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great! Very attentive and quick. Overall I seen this place a few times I went to the wharf and I can't believe I chose this over Boudin....the service is average, workers seem like they don't want to be there. The sprite was flat, thankfully they addressed it. The good, the clam chowder is not too bad. The clams are actually huge which I can respect. The downfall was the bread bowl was heated or toasted, such a bummer. Plain cold bread bowl with hot chowder. I will give the clam chowder bowl a 3/5. The crab chowder was terrible. It was super sweet. I had to put tobasco to make it flavorful. Another cold bread bowl. I give this 1.3/5 The saving grace is the the fish and chips. Fish was tender and juicy a the garlic fries were good. However the fish had so much oil it was almost biting into oil tenders. 3.7/5 Overall I won't come back and I will just stick to Boudjn.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a solid place in the fisherman's warf.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped here for a snack and some drinks between some attractions and really enjoyed it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were several beers on tap and a full bar. The only (very small) complaint I have is that the bartender was also the server for the bar area, and he seemed a little overworked. He was super attentive, but it would have been better if he had some more help. He seemed to be having an issue with one of the mixers, and it was cool to see the attention he was paying to the quality of the drinks. We had a few beers and some of the garlic fries which were great. I do want to include one anecdote, the second bartender (the main guy got some help) was shaking a mix and splashed some of what he was making in our direction. Nothing got close to us but he was super apologetic and even offered us free beer, but we couldn't do that to the guy!

My sisters and I were here recently last week on Saturday during an outing in SF. We came across here when we were trying to look for a lunch spot. Service was great, food was decent. We shared fish and chips and crab chowder. The fish and chips were pretty solid, good enough for me and my sisters to share. The crab chowder was a different story; as much as it looked good, the taste had a hint of San Francisco tapwater. At least we finished it though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was pretty solid too. Not packed like other places around us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, part of me might come back again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I really liked this spot! It is a nice outside restaurant with very quick service![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a group of 6 and all of our food was ready within 10 minutes. I got the clam chowder which was very good! The bread was soft and crisp. It did not have bacon in it, which is perfect for me because I don't eat pork and it is hard to find that a lot. Another person in my group got a smash burger that she really enjoyed. She said it was juicy and a good size. The prices are a bit high, but that is expected given the touristy location. I would come back again and try other menu items if I were in the area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]False advertising, rude service, not clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Do not go here. They say on the top of the roof happy hour specials and then they don't honor them. They argue with you and they don't really care that they're ripping you off.

So glad that The Chowder Hut is still open. Seeing a lot of restaurants closed on The Wharf nowadays. We made it simple this time around...Lobster Chowder and Lobster Sandwich Both were tasty and fed three of us. The sourdough bowl was so fresh and soft. I just started eating that with butter and I was satisfied. But that was only the beginning...Next came the lobster fest! The chowder had a nice, peppery kick to it. My only gripe is to leave out the corn. The lobster sandwich was also excellent and had a lot of lobster. My business partner and I had a few hours to burn and decided to drop by the wharf before leaving. I've walled by here many times but never stopped before. Today we had limited time so decided to make it a quick lunch. It was 11am on a Tuesday so it wasn't busy at all. The bartender is also the server and she was super helpful and friendly. We got our drinks (thankfully they have Coke products) quickly and ordered a few minutes later. The tables were pretty comfortable and surprisingly the chairs as well. It's pretty simple inside and the menu is pretty simple. I ordered the clam chowder and spicy fish sandwich. It comes with fries but I didn't want them. My partner ordered a chicken sandwich. The call chowder was pretty good. I liked that it was piping hot. Good flavor and I would order it again. The bread is real thick for the sandwich. I liked the bread and the fish was a thick cut. The breading was good but unfortunately no seasoning on the fish. A little salt and pepper even would go a long way. It wasn't bad but just would have been nice to be seasoned. I'd come back here though. It's a good deal for a quick bite to eat.

Since it was my first time in SF, my friends really wanted to take me to get a famous clam chowder bread bowl. Many locals had suggested the Chowder Hut and I'm glad they did! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a cute little spot by the Pier and is nearby Boudin.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friends and I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl which was $13.99 which wasn't too bad! Service was just ok in my opinion. The place wasn't too crowded but it was a little diffciult to get the attention of the staff at times. I had to walk up to them a few times and ask for napkins, to go boxes, etc. The clam chowder was good but my only complaint was that it was not hot at all. It was just warm which I did not like. Had it been hotter, it would have been 1000% better in my opinion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place wise, this seemed like a chill place for people to grab a drink and food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, the restrooms were disgusting. It's a public restroom located outside the restuarant and it was NOT clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went inside. It was happy hour if you eat inside. Ordered the nachos and classy. Chowdee. the guacamole was delicious n fresh but the chips was cold. The clam chowder was good but small. Not sure what to think since ive only been there one time. The service was good and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere was acceptable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Located in North…read moreBeach area with the entrance hiding in a small alley, the restaurant is bigger than we thought with both indoors & outdoors seating. The outdoor patio is definitely a blast for a summer day in SF, also converting to a free Tango class at 6:30 on Wednesday evening. We started with some special drinks as recommended by Ali, the most generous guy you've ever met. We got Japanese Artisan Gin Pomegranate Mint Martini and AB's Espresso Martini. They were so refreshing after we had to walk on some hills in 80degree weather in SF. After that, the appetizers we ordered came out with Caprese Salad & Mahmoud's Delicious Pork Ribs. The portion was huge for just appetizer. It's been a while for me to have that crispy baguette toasted with olive oil & vinegar, nothing could be better than that. The ribs were tender, the bonus point was definitely the sauce as it wasn't too sweet like the other places. You can't miss pizza in an Italian restaurant, so we ordered my favorite Crispy Prosciutto De Parma, Poached Pear. Prosciutto is my love so I'll just order it wherever I go if they have it on the menu. Super crispy, even though it's not as thin as I expected, I'd still order it again when we come back. It's served with a bowl of cheese powder and chili flakes so you can customize your pizza. The main entrees were definitely pasta and we just had our eyes bigger than our stomach. If you don't know what to order, ask Ali and he'll be more than happy to help you with all the recommendations, and even offer some alternatives for your pasta when the restaurant is not too crowded. My favorite was Pasta Dellacasa with Prawns added, mixing of all the sauces they have. It was so rich and I felt like no other pasta we had can be compared. They serve it hot and you can ask for as much cheese as you want for your pasta because they make it at the table for you. The place was really cool since the building was built over 100 years ago. Even the trees we were sitting next to are over 100 years old, which is pretty cool. You can even find the menu when the original place just opened, with pasta price ranged from $2-3.

I would have never known it was there. We are greater instantly and told to choose any seat. They have indoor and outdoor dining. We chose indoor. Looked over the menu and order a Tequila Sunrise with Don Julio Anejo. Quite tasty Went for the clam chowder appetizer... definitely 5 stars. Flavorful and creamy. I would come back just for that. Daughter ordered the Seafood Linguini with a cream sauce. The waiter kinda questioned it but made it anyway.. They added Parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper at the table. Everything came with a nice crusty bread I order the Ciopinno!! It was one of the best I ever had.. Added Parmesan and cracked pepper of course. Everything was 5star including the service we received. Left there and recommended the place to several friends.. I'll be back soon.

I've been to Tony's a few times, and the first two times, my hub and I have left raving about it and telling all our friends and fam to get to Tony's. If any menu item says Grandma in it.... you can be sure it's an incredible pizza. They're extremely accommodating and service is great. It's a l w a y s busy, even on weekdays, even in the middle of the work day. Reservations are smart! Parking is not easy but not impossible in the area. We live in the city so we always take public transportation. Within the last 6 months, I've discovered a gluten and dairy allergy that really took me down. Without getting into the gnarly details, it wasn't fun and I've been grieving pizza since this new discovery. So why would I go to Tony's with this new allergy? Because! I read that they offer a gluten free, dairy free pizza. Insane I know, but yet they offer it and I was PUMPED. When asking the waiter what I can get based on my needs, he responded to me like I was a war criminal. He was a Caucasian gentleman with brown hair. He raised his voice for all the diners to hear about my allergies, told me I couldn't get any pizza, and when I pointed out that there were options, he told me "I'll triple check if this is possible for you." When he came back and confirmed it was possible, he tells me they can do a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni. It felt like the moment he heard 'gluten' and 'dairy,' he mentally categorized me as 'vegan' and stopped looking for ways to make the experience enjoyable. Yikes! Lol I fully recognize - girl, why did you go to a pizza spot with a gluten and dairy allergy? Yes I am not okay for this hahah but also I felt pretty embarrassed and treated really poorly. This experience doesn't reflect Tony's as a whole, but it was just a terrible interaction and that waiter made it real clear that he has no patience for anything that is inconvenient during his work shift.
