It's not the fact that we got turned away, it's the fact that nowhere on any of their pages does it mention that if you show up 50 minutes before closing you'll be turned away, it seems a little misleading to put your closing time at 11pm and turn people away 10 minutes past 10. I love the packaging, and the fact that fish is on ice rather than surrounded by those frozen plastic packets (which end up in the landfill). The fish is packaged in environmental "friendly" bags rather than in plastic. They also deliver at the beginning of the pickup period (i.e. The pickup range is 3:30-8pm, and it's at my pickup point at 3:30). That is different than other CSF who deliver sometime within their published pickup period. Now about their seafood. It has been nice to get clean cut fish, not something that looks like it was hacked from a larger fish. Everything is fresh. They send you an email letting you know what you'll receive. They also have recipes. The last item I received was 4.5 dozen mussels! I look forward to doing business with them for the foreseeable future. Just an aside. My daughter took a sea foraging tour with Kirk in 2012. She raved about how knowledgeable he was and recommended him to me. I, unfortunately, did not follow through. I found Kirk just by chance when the person whose home is used for deliveries asked, on NextDoor, who might be interested in a fresh fruit CSA. I'm glad I did.

There are also lots of Islands by the salty water around San Francisco which is the habitat for some of the seafood. You can get a good view of Angel Island , Alcatraz Island, and Treasure Island from the Embarcadero. You especially have a better view boarding a boat on the water from the Ferry Building. The Embarcadero is the spot to also watch the Blue Angels show for Fleet week and a good spot for fish. The is a fish spot in the Ferry Building and it's called NOPA Fish. On a Fleet week and SF Tech Week stroll nothing is better than try the local seafood . There is another Island located at the Ferry Building a few feet away from the Ferry boats which is Oyster Hog Island. There is another place with less lines in the Ferry Building which also sells fresh fish and it's called NOPA Fish . Although it's called NOPA Fish it's no way located North Of the Panhandle but it's located in then Embarcadero. Inside it's a fish market and a restaurant at the same time. I got the Pristine Fish Over Sushi Rice. The sushi rice was fresh along with pieces of fish and it was tasty. I then had the fish and chips. The fish batter was not too flakey and the fries were not too salty like some in SF. It was delicious. I washed it down with an Arnold Palmer which wasn't too sweet and not sour. Remember NOPA Fish is located in the Ferry Building miles away from NOPA.
