My bestie suggested we get dinner here after our yoga sesh at nearby Hot 8 Yoga. I was happy she suggested it since I often passed by. We ordered a bunch of plates to share. She suggested the spanakopita (the best item of the meal !), and I added the chicken souvlaki. We also ordered some Greek fries, but after seeing how much pita bread came with the meal, I wish we'd held off on the fries and opted for vegetables instead. That was my bad, as I chose the fries, but my friend offered either as an option. Oh well, good to know for next time. At the end of our meal, we decided to finish with the ice cream trio, and I especially liked the pistachio flavor. I have been here twice and I can't recommend it highly enough! The food is incredible and the service is impeccable! The second time I was there with a friend, and we had a short wait for a table. The Chef / owner (Ali Yladiz) kindly offered us glasses of delicious Greek wine as we waited. His wife runs the front, and while he is the Chef and runs the kitchen, his presence in the dining room greeting guests and checking on them is ever present and very welcome! You can tell he is passionate about his food, and his guests! Uniquely enough, having only been there once previously, the server I had on my first visit recognized me and as we were being seated (not in her section this time), she said, "Hi there! Good to see you back!". I mean, one previous visit and 1.5 months apart...to be recognized by my server is an extremely rare and welcome change in a day where service is often lacking! This place is absolutely phenomenal and I can't recommend it enough! We went here on a Saturday dinner and made a reservation just in case, which was the right move since it was very busy with St Patrick's Day festivities around. Highly recommend walking, transiting, or rideshare as parking is extremely difficult and pricy - $11 per hour for street parking and my friend spent 45 minutes to find parking. We started with some appetizers - octopus is a must get, and the mezze dips platter is really delicious and you get a nice variety of dips to try without committing to one large one. The anchovies were okay. Chicken soup was fairly hearty and flavorful, with generous amounts of chicken We got 5 mains amongst 4 people as we were hungry - as the mains were mostly large but some were a bit smaller in portion. - Lamb chops - 3 pieces for $48 is a bit steep, but they were very delicious lamb chops. Served with potatoes and tzatziki. I would get this every day if I had unlimited money haha - Rib eye steak - really well executed - requested medium rare and got it just the way we requested - Sea bass - butterflied with a nice presentation, can get a bit boring over time - Chicken souvlaki - chicken was really tender! Not my first choice to order but I'm glad we did - Lamb shank - so tender it falls off the bone! Just had an amazing meal at Milo's! We live pretty close by but finally made the trip over and are so glad we did. The service is great and they make you feel right at home. Our server had some great recommendations for both food and wine. We got a bottle of one of the Semeli wines that was perfect for a chilly day. Second (and last) time at Milos Meze. What a disaster. The $20 octopus appetizer was just one lonely tentacle. The fish was fine, nothing to remember. The $50 steak was listed with asparagus but came with potatoes. When I asked, they said the menu wasn't updated. At that price, that feels careless at best. The steak itself was worse. I asked for medium well. Half was medium, the other half was purple raw. I had to take it home and finish cooking it myself. This felt more like a scam than fine dining. San Francisco has far better Greek spots. For these prices, go to Kokkari and avoid the regret. read more

We were given free pita with a yummy red spread and ordered Spicy Hitipiti, Spanskopita and Arnisio Souvlaki. Their menu was compact; the food menu was a page and the drink menu was another page. My friend and I shared their Spanakopita, Arnisio Souvlaki, and Horiatiki salad. Our main entree Arnisio Souvlaki was brought out a lot later after our mezethe and salate dish, which was a bit odd but kept me hungry for more. The Spanakopita was dense and flavorful, with a classical combination of spinach, feta, and leeks. The Horiatiki salad was good but nothing special. As for our main entree, although I very much enjoyed the quality of the lamb skewers, there were only two skewers with minimal meat compared to what I was expecting for the price. Probably my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in SF. Fantastic food with great pricing (yes I like them more than Kokkari Estiatorio which I think is overpriced). One of the few repeat restaurants on my list. They do seafood sooo well. The octopus is super tender and fresh, and so is the fish. I don't eat lamb but my BF always gets their lamb chops and they're full of flavor, tender, and super juicy. The baklava paired with ice cream and strawberries is just chefs kiss. The baklava is super flakey, topped with cloves and cinnamon and the ice cream is i think Kaimaki? I might be wrong here but it's a traditional greek/Mediterranean ice cream, very mild in sweetness but it pairs very nicely with the pastry and so so so creamy and rich.
