Dalida was such a lovely dining experience. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and that's probably how we ended up getting a pistachio coffee, which was such a nice surprise! OMG, the food was delicious. The portions were just right, and I really loved the elegant, well-balanced flavors. I tend to prefer food that's lighter and more subtle rather than overly rich or overpowering, and this was exactly my kind of food. The presentation was beautiful too. Everything looked so good when it came to the table that it honestly made me happy just looking at it. I'll definitely be coming back with more friends. The only thing I noticed was that the receptionist could have been a little friendlier. I didn't feel particularly welcomed when we arrived, but everything else about the experience was wonderful and more than made up for it. Overall, a really great experience. Dalida was a nice fine dining experience for mediterranean food. Beautiful and large interior located in the Presidio. Attentive and friendly service, met expectations for fine dining experience. I wasn't impressed with the drinks; I had both the Shahmaram and the Shepherds Pipes (their version of an old fashioned and a manhattan), both were fine but nothing spectacular. The food also ranged from okay to great. The baking bread was by far the best dish - a must order. The kebab was also good, nice portion size and wonderful flavor. The oysters and the melon salad were "meh"; rather small portions and nothing out of the ordinary. I wasn't a fan of the Seabass - not much flavor and contained tons of bones, would not recommend. There are several other mediterranean restaurants I'd recommend over Dalida; Kitchen Istanbul for a similar fine dining experience (much better food and slightly less expensive) and Orens Hummus for mediterranean food at affordable prices without the fine dining experience, however Dalida is worth checking out if you've never been and went to try something new (be prepared for the high prices). read more

I revisited Dalida as a party of 3 and was incredibly happy with both the food and service that was offered to us. The pistachio coffee, albeit small, is delicious and the perfect brunch drink choice for my boyfriend and I. We had the Greek osetra caviar on the house, breaking bread, challah French toast, Turkish flatbread, arayes kebab, and oysters. The Greek osetra caviar bites were amazing- it's recommended to eat it in one bite. All the flavors explode in your mouth! Super yummy start to the menu- everything here is beautifully plated and designed to make your mouth water. The oysters and their housemade mignonette was delightful. Super fresh and beautiful presentation, I'm always partial to raw oysters whenever they're on the menu. The challah French toast was yummy and came with strawberry syrup on top. The cream filling was light and airy- very melt in your mouth! I would highly recommend this family style for anyone that is craving a sweet treat along with their savory dishes. The arayes kebab came with seasoned fries and spicy mayo that was perfect to cut through the sweetness. Same quality as the last time I came. The Turkish flatbread was airy and soft, and the creamy egg paired well with the cheesy topping. The muhammara and hummus dip for breaking bread paired well with the chubby pita. Our server was nothing but kind. I'm glad that I gave Dalida a second chance and that they did not disappoint. This is a fairly upscale restaurant serving Mediterranean inspired cuisine in the heart of Presidio. We made reservations just in case which is a good call, even though for 5pm opening, as otherwise you'll be seated at the bar. We got the breaking bread, octopus and sujuk, lamb chops, and warm irmik helvase cobbler. For drinks we had Saturnalia and shepherd's pipes. The breaking bread is a must get item as it is a giant pita bread with a variety of spreads which all make it so wonderful. The octopus and sujuk is fairly unique, kind of like a carpaccio. The lamb chops were okay - a bit small for the price. The cobbler is fairly hearty and sweet The cocktails are pretty delicious, especially the Saturnalia which is fairly aesthetic and had a milky aftertaste. Came for my birthday and it was a very special and delicious meal. Started with cocktails and oysters. Cocktails were good. Oysters were some of the best I've had, small, plump, briny, and sweet. Did the tasting menu and boy oh boy it's a lot of food. I can't even remember everything we had, several small bites, a whole mezze platter, multiple types of breads, salads, a huge main course of pork with a giant pastry stuffed with rice, and two desserts. By the time we got to the main course we were so full we could barely eat it and took it home. Fantastic meal all around. Service was very attentive and great. We shut the restaurant down and they didn't rush us out at all and let us linger which was nice. Sat at the bar and watched the chefs cook. Best pita bread and dips! Yes I paid $5 for an extra one and ended up so full I barely touched my main course. We got the prefix lunch menu, one with the short rib pasta dish, shockingly a miss, it was a total salt bomb! I told my friend to return it but she didn't want to bother. I spoke up and they were so kind and gave us baklava. My pork was super flavorful, I wish there was something to soak up the sauce, it was kind of stewed in lots of sauce with I think a small slather of mashed potatoes? On the bottom. My friends and I dined at Dalida on a Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. and we were able to get seated without a reservation with only a short ten minute wait. We started our meal with a round of cocktails. I tried out their Bodrum Negroni -- cacao infused mezcal, miso red vermouth, satsuma cheong, ferment, saline, and it was a refreshing spin on a classic. It was boozy, but well-balanced. We started our meal with a few items off the "for the table" section of the menu, ordering the the "breaking bread" and breakfast spread". Both items come with a piece of their chubby pita, a super fluffy, thick, freshly made pita. Between these two items, there are a total of ten different dips and bites to try out. The favorites of the table included the muhammara -- a roasted red peppers dip with walnuts, the tahini and molasses spread, and the kaymak -- similar to clotted cream, with jam. If you're coming with a group, I'd definitely recommend ordering these two spreads and an extra chubby pita for $5. Along with the dips, we also got the octopus and sujuk. The knife-work and presentation on the octopus is unlike anything I've ever seen; the dish is beautifully presented and almost too pretty to eat. The octopus is cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the saltiness and brininess of the olive-caper garnish on top. By this point in the meal, we were actually becoming quite full. For our mains, we shared the Arayes kebab and the hot smoked trout. From the Arayes kebab platter, these shoe-string fries were hands down some of the best fries I've ever had. Reminiscent of McDonald's fries, the ones here are incredibly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously dusted with seasoning. Continuing with the pattern of beautiful presentation, the dish is also very aesthetic. The kebab meat is stuffed inside a chubby pita and is grilled to perfection. There's a nice crust on the meat, and kebab is made with with a cornucopia of herbs and spices. I was too a bit too full to try more than a bite of the trout dip, so unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to properly enjoy or evaluate the dishes. Overall, my group had a delicious meal at Dalida. The service here is fantastic, and food and beverage is solid all around. Definitely worth venturing out to the Presidio to try at least once. read more

So lucky we got reservations for a group of 6. We ordered drinks and a little bit of everything. From the breakin bread, to octopus, to beet salad, to the lamb shoulder, fish, chicken and a couple of desserts. My top favorite has to be the breaking bread, octopus and the black ink pasta. Everything was tasty and perfectly portioned for family style. The desserts were amazing, baklava, chocolate cake and the chocolate tart. Second time here, came back to celebrate a friend's birthday! We had a great time and enjoyed the food. The favorites were the octopus & sujuk, and the breaking bread. Must orders in my opinion! We also liked the beet salad. We also tried the pork souvlaki and the steak which were both solid and cooked well but didn't blow us away. The lamb dishes are better in my opinion. We went here a year ago, and it was outstanding. I would have given it 6 stars. The food was excellent. We went again a couple of days ago and had an outstanding bottle of wine, Two Wolves Cab. Franc and a great discussion with their Sommelier about the wine. The chicken entrée was very good. But the rest of our dishes were disappointing compared to our prior experience. The swordfish did not have much taste. The octopus appetizer, which was so good last time, was not up to snuff. And the same with the bread. read more

A great Mediterannean restaurant in the beautifully redone Presidio. We started with puffy pita bread and various sauces. The bread is very different than normal pita you have in other places and was a good chewy experience. One of us ordered the prix fixe lunch -- it was great, though we didn't realize all the items can just be ordered for about the same price. A delicious fresh salad, a turkish flatbread and a wonderful risotto cake dessert. We also ordered lamd kebabs, which were excellent. Wine by the glass is not inexpensive -- we ordered a total of four glasses for $90 total, but the waiter was very helpful in picking it out and offering a sample. Very good service. An active but not too noisy atmosphere with great colors. Reservations needed. For lunch, including tip the cost was $240. read more

Had a great company offsite lunch here! Their team was so accommodating and made the whole experience seamless. We did the three-course prix fixe menu, and it was perfect for our group. The food was really well done and they did a great job making sure everyone received their courses at the same time. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Service was fast and friendly, and we were seated instantly for our reserved time. We celebrated our anniversary here and left a note on the reservation, and to our surprise we were offered a glass of champagne on the house! We ordered the Octopus and Sujuk, Baking Bread, Crab Pasta, and Lamb Chops. The must orders are the octopus and baking bread, as that is their signatures and ones with the most unique flavor profile/presentation. The pastas are pretty basic, and the lamb chop was super tender and flavorful. The lamb is a little gamey, but the potatoes paired with it drowns out the flavor a little. Service was fast for the appetizers, but took a minute for the entrees. Our server was very friendly and patient with us as we asked questions regarding the menu. We felt pretty full afterwards despite the portion sizes looking a little small in the pictures. However, I do not feel like this restaurant has a "replayability" factor - the dishes were all good individually, but nothing out of the uniqueness that you can't find at other middle eastern/mediterranean or similar restaurants. Love this place! It's a hot commodity too because of its proximity to the Tunnel Tops and the lawn. So make reservations especially during the weekend. Sayat, the head chef, is a friend of a friend and he's always so welcoming. The food is always on point and the service never fails. Not to mention that the restaurant itself is beautiful and inside of a beautiful building and park. For dishes I recommend pretty much everything. My girlfriend and I met for lunch at Dalida and it was both our first time to try it. We ordered their "Breaking Bread" to start. It was delicious and came with several accompaniments. My favorite was the hummus which I enjoyed with the bread. For our entrée, we had the "Black Cod" and "Short Ribs." The cod was flavorful and fresh! The short ribs were okay. We did share a "Chocolate Torte" served with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Well, the ice cream was good but not the chocolate torte as the bottom crust was too hard and almost inedible. The must-have item to start was Breaking Bread, which came with a "chubby pita" paired with an array of mezze including hummus, muhammara, smoked yogurt, pickled vegetables, and olives. The best part was the pita, which was warm, fluffy, and doughy without being too dense. Next, the Winter Salad was a seasonal mixture of winter greens, chicories, feta, candied walnuts/pumpkin seeds, and bitter preserved lemon; and the Kibbeh Nayeh was raw beef tartare topped with grated cheese and pomegranate arils, served with a lavash flatbread on the side. Truly an amazing experience, from start to finish. One of the best restaurants I've been to in sf in a while. Can't wait to come back! Stopped by last night with my husband and we opted for the tasting menu, only $85 - a ton of food for a reasonable price. Literally every single dish was fabulous. Only one we didn't love love was the beet salad. Our favorites were the bread service (the absolute most AMAZING yogurt sauce (smoked!) I've ever had), along with the best hummus I've ever tasted, the rolled eggplant snack and the lamb shank (literally fall off the bone tender. Really cool space with a modern, open vibe that's perfect for groups. The big windows make it feel bright and airy, and even though it's a large restaurant, the noise level stays surprisingly low. The cocktails are definitely worth checking out. They have creative drinks with flavors like pistachio, rose, and clarified milk, plus a massive 16-page spirits list. The food is a modern take on Middle Eastern, but I'd recommend ordering strategically. If you're with a group, skip the from the land menu because it's individual skewers and get a couple of larger entrées like the lamb shoulder instead. We ordered the entire land menu plus a pasta and still ended up grabbing burgers afterward, so the portions felt pretty underwhelming for the price. The duck dolmas were more of a standout--they come with an unexpected peach sauce. The pork cheek was also delicious- tender and really flavorful. The areyas kebab had good flavor but was a little dry and really needed a sauce. Dessert- I'd skip the baklava. It's napoleon style it's just ight. Was Tony Bourdain right? Brunch is the worst meal to have at a restaurant? We came to Dalida with very high expectations, based on reputation. Weekend brunch, seated at the counter at the back at the open kitchen. The setting is beautiful in the presidio, in an old converted brick building. The dining room is nicely appointed and comfortable. Menu looks good. Some brunch-y things, some heavier dishes, some seafood and raw bar stuff. Service: our server was clearly inexperienced, and unable to explain substantial items on the menu without returning to the kitchen twice to ask. He recommended a cocktail as "very balanced, not too sweet" and it arrived tasting quite sweet. I don't think he ever tried it. They were kind enough to take it off the bill when we pointed that out. Our meal: - Pita with spreads was quite good. The pita is fresh baked and the spreads are all nice. It's nothing you haven't tasted before though. - poached egg, simit (bagel-type of bread), trout salad. This was a little odd. The trout salad was fine but quite ordinary and under seasoned. The simit was fresh and tasty. Poached egg lacked seasoning. The dish wasn't quite coherent. - arayes (meat filled crispy pitas): flavorful and hearty. This dish was a winner. Definitely share this - it's too heavy to eat more than a little. Dessert: a deconstructed layered "baklava". This was just a fail. It was very crispy thin crackers (not flavored at all) layered with a pistachio cream and pistachio paste, and then a raspberry sauce on top. The pistachio components had no flavor at all, just tasted like plain whipped cream. I saw pistachios but tasted nothing. The raspberry sauce was fine but that was the entire flavor of the dish. Nothing here was remotely reminiscent of baklava - they should have called it "really boring Napoleon with crispy layers". I would have ordered something else if I knew. A few other annoyances - we were right at the bar facing the open kitchen, and of the many many kitchen staff, some were acting like they weren't on display. They were visibly anxious when things got backed up, there was some chaos, and clearly some newbies that needed straightening out. Some of them looked unkempt. We watched food sitting under heat lamps a long time, food coming back from being sent to the wrong table, etc. The meal overall was fine, but really nothing stood out as better than you could get at a much cheaper spot. There were no interesting preparations or ingredients. So is brunch the weak link or has this place been resting on its laurels? Unfortunately I won't be back to find out. read more

Trout appetizer: this was quite delicious, the sauce nicely complemented the fresh trout. However, the dish is quite expensive for how small it is at $22, so I probably wouldn't get it again. 4/5 Breaking bread: the pita bread was super fluffy and delicious! The three dips given each had a unique flavor profile - I personally enjoyed the muhammara dip the most, it was perfectly smoky and tangy and had a subtle hint of spicy. 5/5 Saffron tahdig: this was above average, I thought the spices used for the rice were fantastic but I personally didn't enjoy how hard and crunchy the rice at the top was. The barberries were a cool addition to the overall flavor that somewhat helped mitigate the hardness of the rice. 4/5 Lamb shoulder: this was amazing, definitely the highlight of the meal. We were surprised by just how tender the lamb is when we cut it and ate it. When it's hot, it simply melts in your mouth. The sauce was also nicely spiced, it felt like it had a touch of cinnamon among some other sweeter spices that was nice. We also ended up dipping some of the lamb pieces in the muhammara dip from the breaking bread dish. Chickpeas and potatoes were also delectable and cooked perfectly. I've wanted to check out Dalida ever since I saw Chef Laura on Top Chef, and the food did not disappoint! We didn't make a reservation so we waited for an hour at the bowling alley and then we were seated at the bar. We loved sitting at the bar because we were able to ask the bartender for food recommendations! To start, we got the sunchoke kebab. Neither of us have tried sunchoke, and we were lucky to try it in kebab and chip form! The kebab was quite tasty and I liked the firm texture of the kebab. Sunchoke seems like a bland ingredient, kind of like a potato, so it paired well with the slightly sweet glaze and super garlicky sauce! We loved the garlic sauce and were eating as much as possible with every bite of sunchoke! Duck dolmas - we were so impressed by the plating and the cute little citrus fruit garnish! The dolmas were not too vinegary, the way a traditional dolma can sometimes taste. The duck and citrus paired really well together because the citrus helped brighten the heavier duck flavor. Our favorite dishes were the tahdig and lamb chops. The tahdig was perfectly crispy on the outside, had a beautiful saffron flavor and color, and the inside rice was nice and soft! The lamb chops were so unique! It was almost like there was a lamb kebab wrapped around a tender chunk of lamb meat in the center. The presentation was incredible! We also loved the sauce that came with the lamb. It made the hummus more flavorful and we loved dipping our lamb in the hummus and jus! Let me start by saying: the most important thing in a restaurant isn't just the food--it's the experience. Service: We came in as walk-ins during brunch on a day when bad weather pushed everyone indoors, and the walk-in list was already full. At first, there was some confusion around seating and I was turned away. I asked to speak with the manager to better understand what was going on, and Evelyn stepped in. She was professional, calm, and took the time to clearly explain the situation. More importantly, she found a way to accommodate my partner and me. Having worked in the service industry myself, I truly empathize with how tough it can be especially when guests are frustrated. Evelyn handled everything with grace and respect, and her staff followed her lead. Huge credit to her and the team for turning a stressful moment into a positive experience. Food: Everything we had was good, but the standout was the octopus which was beautifully presented and delicious. You have to get the broken bread, and the oysters were great too. The rest of the menu looked amazing, and I've heard great things about the chef's curated menu, so I'll definitely be back to try that. I returned for another dinner and had a better experience than my first visit. Service was good - personable, friendly, and present. There were some new items on the menu that we were excited to try (though sad to see the lamb chops gone). Absolutely loved the scallops, but wasn't excited about the lamb tandoor. The California tahdig changed! Really liked it at our first visit and was looking forward to it again. But I think it's now smaller and more compressed in a way, so the flavors weren't distinct at all. And because the area of rice was smaller, it was very mushy and lacked the crust from the first one. I'm not sure why they changed this as I thought it was very popular. The best thing about Dalida are the flavors and ingredients that I think are fairly unique, at least in San Francisco. The interior is reminiscent of the outdoors - filled with plants, bird mural, even sounds of birds in the restroom. We enjoyed every single item we ordered. Dishes were unique, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Standouts were the octopus and sujuk (thinly sliced octopus with olive caper dressing), breaking bread (a spread of dips and pita), sunchoke kebab, Anatolian erishte (thick noodles with mushrooms, squash, hazelnuts), black cod, and saffron tahdig (crispy Persian rice). 3.5 stars, rounded down. Good food but overpriced. I dined at Dalida this past Saturday evening, excited to see if they could live up to the hype. We received sparkling wine as a welcome to help celebrate a special occasion - nice touch. While Dalida has a lot going for it (good food and a stunning location) the prices are out of step with the quantity of the food received as well as the service. Service - professional and effective, but aloof and downscale in places. The quality of the service does not match the upscale environment and pricing. Very little warmth or polish. The food is good. Breaking Bread - $18 - 5/5. A highlight and star of the night. The single chubby pita served with this dish is not enough to finish all of the dips though, so you may well need to order another. Grapeleaf Duck Dolmas - $28 - 4/5. Delicious but woefully overpriced for the few dolmas that you get in this small dish. Tomato Fattoush Salad - $18 - 3.5/5. Vibrant and fresh, but not a cohesive dish. Tomato heavy. Overpriced for a small salad. Dungeoness Crab Hilopides - $40 - 4/5. Mild crab flavor blends well with the slightly overcooked pasta. Tasty but has nothing to elevate it to justify the price. Kayseri Monti - $29 - 4.5/5. Delicious lamb dumplings. Again though, in a recurring theme, there aren't nearly enough of them to justify the price. Chocolate Hazelnut Tart - $14 - 3.5/5. Fine but nothing special. Wild Pistachio Coffee - $9 - 3/5. Firstly, this isn't coffee. Second, it's a tiny portion. Again, wildly overpriced. Tasty if you like pistachio. The cocktails were not good. Either the bartender lacks skill at executing recipes or the recipes need iteration to better balance the drinks. Pasha - $18 - 2/5. What read as if it would be delicious ended up being not much more than sugar water. No discernible smoke or alcohol. Bodrum Negroni - $20 - 2/5. Wildly overpriced. Had a wonderful mezcal nose which disappeared in the drinking. Overwhelmingly sweet and salty. Extremely unbalanced drink. Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 2.5/5 Food: 4/5 Value: 1.5/5 Total for two, all-in, with three drinks: $300. This did not feel like other $300 meals I've had in the past and left us with a feeling of disappointment and lack of value. read more

Went for dinner and it was nice! The interior is very calming, from the artwork to lighting to furniture. The food was delicious; the bread was a standout. I would maybe skip the octopus, it was sliced very thinly like carpaccio instead of chunks which kinda threw me off. Only thing that was a little funny was our waiter definitely had a script which he used verbatim for both our table and the tables next to us. read more

Probably my favorite place in SF thus far! Their food and drinks are unmatched. You can reserve ahead, there's a lot of paid lot parking. We went in on a weekend, and had brunch offerings. We split the lobster omelette and french toast and a couple of their drinks. Everything tasted superb! Then we strolled the park, watched the gate and called it a day. Went here for a group lunch and the service was excellent! I've heard great things about this spot. It's nestled in Presidio which is a very unique spot for a restaurant. The breaking bread was delicious -- super fluffy pita and the spreads were great. My favorite was the hummus. I got the 3 course prix fix lunch option ($49) and it was so much food! I was definitely stuffed by the end. I liked the butternut squash soup, but felt the short rib entree was a tad too salty and heavy for me. The cheesecake dessert was super interesting and had a very cheesy texture/flavor. I also tried the baklava dessert which was delicious as well and very light. Overall it was fun to try new foods presented in a beautiful way! The ambiance was super nice as well. read more

Dalida is an experience besides excellent food. I wasnt able reserve a table while they were fully booked so we walked in and they suggested to walk in around 5pm when they open and if there is a table available in their lounge or bar we can get it. It was around 2:40pm and we decided to stay and try our luck...First and most thing to remember there is no free parking around. Keep an eye on all signs we were super close to get a ticket so just a reminder.Dalida is mixed of many cuisines like Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Armenian, Jewish and Greek so basically its full of flavors. The waiter told us that chef Sayat is turkish armenian so imagine how much the cuisine could be rich in spices...We ordered octopus and Sojuk (must try), Breaking bead (tray of mezzah), cold yellowtail Tahdig (full of saffron), Duroc Pork Souvlaki, Fatoush salad and IPA. Our waiter was very sweet and knowledgeable...The restaurant was fully booked so if you want dining or patio you should have reservation or cross fingers you get a table in the bar. We were lucky enough till last minute i was checking Open Table and it seems someone canceled it cuz we got the opportunity to book table right the way. When its meant to be it's meant to be!!!! Solid food. Nice ambiance in the presidio. We came here for Tuesday lunch and I was able to find parking outside of the restaurant. I like the breaking bread (chubby pita and dips) and beets salad, and was a bit unimpressed with the octopus appetizer, though it's pretty. We also had the lamb shoulder, ny steak and black cod to share. The entrees came in a big portion and perfect for sharing. Service was friendly and water was always filled. Overall I liked the food here but a bit pricey for what it's for. The location was incredible. read more
