Solid food. Nice ambiance in the presidio. We came here for Tuesday lunch and I was able to find parking outside of the restaurant. I like the breaking bread (chubby pita and dips) and beets salad, and was a bit unimpressed with the octopus appetizer, though it's pretty. We also had the lamb shoulder, ny steak and black cod to share. The entrees came in a big portion and perfect for sharing. Service was friendly and water was always filled. Overall I liked the food here but a bit pricey for what it's for. The location was incredible.

Dalida is amazing all around. Food, service and vibe are amazing. Restaurant is beautiful! Gil was our server. Very nice, very professional. We did not have a reservation but they sat us next to the bar in the lounge area (one table). But honestly I think it was the best spot in the whole place. Food is excellent. Will definitely be returning, with a reservation.

My friends and I dined at Dalida on a Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. and we were able to get seated without a reservation with only a short ten minute wait. We started our meal with a round of cocktails. I tried out their Bodrum Negroni -- cacao infused mezcal, miso red vermouth, satsuma cheong, ferment, saline, and it was a refreshing spin on a classic. It was boozy, but well-balanced. We started our meal with a few items off the "for the table" section of the menu, ordering the the "breaking bread" and breakfast spread". Both items come with a piece of their chubby pita, a super fluffy, thick, freshly made pita. Between these two items, there are a total of ten different dips and bites to try out. The favorites of the table included the muhammara -- a roasted red peppers dip with walnuts, the tahini and molasses spread, and the kaymak -- similar to clotted cream, with jam. If you're coming with a group, I'd definitely recommend ordering these two spreads and an extra chubby pita for $5. Along with the dips, we also got the octopus and sujuk. The knife-work and presentation on the octopus is unlike anything I've ever seen; the dish is beautifully presented and almost too pretty to eat. The octopus is cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the saltiness and brininess of the olive-caper garnish on top. By this point in the meal, we were actually becoming quite full. For our mains, we shared the Arayes kebab and the hot smoked trout. From the Arayes kebab platter, these shoe-string fries were hands down some of the best fries I've ever had. Reminiscent of McDonald's fries, the ones here are incredibly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously dusted with seasoning. Continuing with the pattern of beautiful presentation, the dish is also very aesthetic. The kebab meat is stuffed inside a chubby pita and is grilled to perfection. There's a nice crust on the meat, and kebab is made with with a cornucopia of herbs and spices. I was too a bit too full to try more than a bite of the trout dip, so unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to properly enjoy or evaluate the dishes. Overall, my group had a delicious meal at Dalida. The service here is fantastic, and food and beverage is solid all around. Definitely worth venturing out to the Presidio to try at least once.

Reading reviews and considering coming here? Make sure to check Opentable to reserve a spot before locking in on this one - most popular times are booked within days of them being available. Parking is free on the Presidio after 6PM, but you do have to pay if you're coming in before then. Inside can get a little loud, and most people actually put somewhat of an effort to dress up! Service was fast and friendly, and we were seated instantly for our reserved time. We celebrated our anniversary here and left a note on the reservation, and to our surprise we were offered a glass of champagne on the house! We ordered the Octopus and Sujuk, Baking Bread, Crab Pasta, and Lamb Chops. The must orders are the octopus and baking bread, as that is their signatures and ones with the most unique flavor profile/presentation. The pastas are pretty basic, and the lamb chop was super tender and flavorful. The lamb is a little gamey, but the potatoes paired with it drowns out the flavor a little. Service was fast for the appetizers, but took a minute for the entrees. Our server was very friendly and patient with us as we asked questions regarding the menu. We felt pretty full afterwards despite the portion sizes looking a little small in the pictures. However, I do not feel like this restaurant has a "replayability" factor - the dishes were all good individually, but nothing out of the uniqueness that you can't find at other middle eastern/mediterranean or similar restaurants. The main difference is the atmosphere.

Love this place! It's a hot commodity too because of its proximity to the Tunnel Tops and the lawn. So make reservations especially during the weekend. Sayat, the head chef, is a friend of a friend and he's always so welcoming. The food is always on point and the service never fails. Not to mention that the restaurant itself is beautiful and inside of a beautiful building and park. For dishes I recommend pretty much everything. But my personal favorite is their Arayes Kebab (which I still call the Arayes Burger from the early days). Seating outside is only for brunch/lunch so just be prepared.

    "Breaking Bread with its accompaniments."

My girlfriend and I met for lunch at Dalida and it was both our first time to try it. We ordered their "Breaking Bread" to start. It was delicious and came with several accompaniments. My favorite was the hummus which I enjoyed with the bread. For our entrée, we had the "Black Cod" and "Short Ribs." The cod was flavorful and fresh! The short ribs were okay. We did share a "Chocolate Torte" served with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Well, the ice cream was good but not the chocolate torte as the bottom crust was too hard and almost inedible. It was a nice lunch after all since my girlfriend and I absolutely enjoyed catching up and the service was excellent! Sonia was exceptional and Sly was attentive!

I came here because I loved that the restaurant had a similar name to mine, but it impressed in ways way beyond the name! The breaking bread was so good that I ended up ordering it twice, and I am still dreaming of its chubby pita muhammara. Also, the PS I Love You cocktail comes with boba - so fun! My only issue was we were sitting by windows and the breeze kept coming in. Food: 10/10 Drinks: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Vegan-friendly: 8/10

Came with a big party and got a bunch of items to share. Everything turned out delicious and parking was easy to find outside. Was surprised the lamb came out like a ground ball they put back together on the bone, but it was still yummy. The octopus appetizer was pretty good too.

Came with a large party and was able to try a ton of dishes on the menu. Highlights included: Smoked yogurt in Breaking Bread Octopus & sujuk Pork cheek souvlaki Solid, beautifully cooked: Tahdig Lamb shoulder tandoor Aleppo chicken Dry aged NY strip Also solid but maybe lil less interesting given all the bold flavors here Fattoush salad Broiled cauliflower Skip: Anatolian erishte Date cake (saffron ice cream was great!) Kayseri manti, Dungeness crab hilopides and galieh black cod sound really good - high on list to try next. The "let us cook for you" prix fixe sounds like a great deal. Cocktails were amazing - super fun flavors and combinations. Pasha was a crowd fave - feel like tomato water is everywhere now and this was a good one. Jane meets the devil was nice, and Saturnalia was good though on sweeter side for me. Family style private dining was an experience. You will not leave hungry. Was pretty full after apps. They asked if we wanted more food after all the mains were served and we were a little shocked. The food is really heavy though. They packed up tons of leftovers, which fed us for days. Service was lovely. Restaurant is beautiful. The private room ran really hot even with windows open, and folks were pretty uncomfortable.. especially those on other side of windows. Super easy parking right outside.

Came here because we love the breaking bread! It's a delicious chubby pita with various hummus/yogurt dips to accompany it. This was the first time we came here for dinner and we really enjoyed the arayes kebab and black cod. The pork cheek was also good but I'd rank it last out of the four items we had. Service is always great here and ambiance inside is nice, just a little noisy at times.

    Lamb shoulder
    Evan Z.

Trout appetizer: this was quite delicious, the sauce nicely complemented the fresh trout. However, the dish is quite expensive for how small it is at $22, so I probably wouldn't get it again. 4/5 Breaking bread: the pita bread was super fluffy and delicious! The three dips given each had a unique flavor profile - I personally enjoyed the muhammara dip the most, it was perfectly smoky and tangy and had a subtle hint of spicy. 5/5 Saffron tahdig: this was above average, I thought the spices used for the rice were fantastic but I personally didn't enjoy how hard and crunchy the rice at the top was. The barberries were a cool addition to the overall flavor that somewhat helped mitigate the hardness of the rice. 4/5 Lamb shoulder: this was amazing, definitely the highlight of the meal. We were surprised by just how tender the lamb is when we cut it and ate it. When it's hot, it simply melts in your mouth. The sauce was also nicely spiced, it felt like it had a touch of cinnamon among some other sweeter spices that was nice. We also ended up dipping some of the lamb pieces in the muhammara dip from the breaking bread dish. Chickpeas and potatoes were also delectable and cooked perfectly. One last addendum is I appreciate that we received quite a large portion for the lamb, it was definitely big enough to split among two people. 5/5 Cute restaurant in one of the prettiest areas I've ever been to (Presidio). The servers were super nice and attentive. Highly recommend! 4.7/5

I've wanted to check out Dalida ever since I saw Chef Laura on Top Chef, and the food did not disappoint! We didn't make a reservation so we waited for an hour at the bowling alley and then we were seated at the bar. We loved sitting at the bar because we were able to ask the bartender for food recommendations! To start, we got the sunchoke kebab. Neither of us have tried sunchoke, and we were lucky to try it in kebab and chip form! The kebab was quite tasty and I liked the firm texture of the kebab. Sunchoke seems like a bland ingredient, kind of like a potato, so it paired well with the slightly sweet glaze and super garlicky sauce! We loved the garlic sauce and were eating as much as possible with every bite of sunchoke! Duck dolmas - we were so impressed by the plating and the cute little citrus fruit garnish! The dolmas were not too vinegary, the way a traditional dolma can sometimes taste. The duck and citrus paired really well together because the citrus helped brighten the heavier duck flavor. Our favorite dishes were the tahdig and lamb chops. The tahdig was perfectly crispy on the outside, had a beautiful saffron flavor and color, and the inside rice was nice and soft! The lamb chops were so unique! It was almost like there was a lamb kebab wrapped around a tender chunk of lamb meat in the center. The presentation was incredible! We also loved the sauce that came with the lamb. It made the hummus more flavorful and we loved dipping our lamb in the hummus and jus! The quality and price are soooo worth it, unlike some other restaurants in sf. I can't wait to come back and try more food!

Let me start by saying: the most important thing in a restaurant isn't just the food--it's the experience. Service: We came in as walk-ins during brunch on a day when bad weather pushed everyone indoors, and the walk-in list was already full. At first, there was some confusion around seating and I was turned away. I asked to speak with the manager to better understand what was going on, and Evelyn stepped in. She was professional, calm, and took the time to clearly explain the situation. More importantly, she found a way to accommodate my partner and me. Having worked in the service industry myself, I truly empathize with how tough it can be especially when guests are frustrated. Evelyn handled everything with grace and respect, and her staff followed her lead. Huge credit to her and the team for turning a stressful moment into a positive experience. Food: Everything we had was good, but the standout was the octopus which was beautifully presented and delicious. You have to get the broken bread, and the oysters were great too. The rest of the menu looked amazing, and I've heard great things about the chef's curated menu, so I'll definitely be back to try that. Overall: This review is really about the exceptional service we received--especially from Evelyn. She did an awesome job, and because of her, what could've been a bad experience turned into a memorable one. Looking forward to coming back for both the food and the hospitality.

Arrived on time for our 8:30pm reservation and was greeted to the beautiful ambiance inside. Is this the romantic, cozy, enchanting restaurant of my dreams? I think so! Those amber lightbulbs did their duty here to make this place feel warm and inviting. We were seated and was greeted by the wonderful Gilberto! He was literally the star and highlight of our evening. Cracked a few jokes, talked about his fave dishes, we really had a ton of fun with him. A complete gem! As I walked through my restaurant, I sat down and said " I smelled melted cheese, whatever that is, I want it" It was the Saghanaki and I needed it in my life. Melty cheesy and delicious. I met her, tasted her, and now I need more. Now, I only recently had Octopus once of twice before, but this one here was fabulous! Tender, delicious, beautiful. I absolutely adored this. The smelts were so fun to eat! I called them protein fries. Little teeny tiny fishies, so crispy and flavorful. For our entree, we snagged the porkchop special. SO. FREAKING. GOOD! Kokkari Estiatorio hit the mark across the board on ambiance, service and food. Ambiance: This was great for a fun girls date but would also be a wonderful date night or group gathering. Although the restaurant is indoors, there are large windows that open to the street that make it feel more open and fresh. Food & drink: My friend and I ordered wine and a series of apps to share. First, there was a great selection of wines! I ordered a Chalbis, one of my favorites, and it didn't disappoint. The menu has a wide variety and it was hard to pick! We shared the saganaki (with house bread), chili garlic prawns, octopus, fried zucchini cakes, and two off-menu specials (a duck dish and an apricot arugula salad). Every dish had a unique flavor profile but they were all so good in their own respect. Some specific callouts: the bread was thick and crispy on the outside but incredibly soft on the inside, the octopus was perfectly charred but still tender, and the yogurt sauce with the fried zucchini cakes was "zesty" and refreshing. We also enjoyed the baklava and frozen yogurt for dessert. I think these were fair portion sizes for the price point. I would love to come back here!
