Our server was incredibly attentive and helpful, but the front desk ladies were so rude to my friends. I see that this is not an uncommon experience, so maybe this location would be wise to rethink their employment status. We booked for two parties (one party of four and one party of three) since they do not accommodate large groups and simply requested to be seated next to each other. We arrived later than our reservation, but there was not a full house by any means. There were plenty of empty tables, and two tables seated next to one another IN THE CORNER OF THE RESTAURANT that were empty and did not have parties surrounding it, but the front desk women insisted that seating us next to one another would "disturb other patrons" and that we were already late, so the implication was that we had no ground to stand on to make any demands. Two people in the party ended up no showing, so we ended up only having five people total. You're telling me you can't seat five people next to each other? A party of three and two? They ended up filling the table next to our friends with another couple 30 minutes into our meal. Inconveniencing others because you've been inconvenienced is unprofessional. Being late and having no shows is no excuse to intentionally revel in some weird form of power play schadenfreude with your restaurant's own patrons. The most ironic part is that Dalida's menu claims that the owners mission is to "share food across the table", which is not what we ended up doing. Are they sure they don't mean to share food across the entire restaurant? I want to emphasize again that our server was excellent, the food was also very quality and made with care. I loved the arayes kebab, my friend enjoyed her octopus, we both shared the creme brulee toast and thought the blood orange syrup and cream was divine. My friends and I dined at Dalida on a Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. and we were able to get seated without a reservation with only a short ten minute wait. We started our meal with a round of cocktails. I tried out their Bodrum Negroni -- cacao infused mezcal, miso red vermouth, satsuma cheong, ferment, saline, and it was a refreshing spin on a classic. It was boozy, but well-balanced. We started our meal with a few items off the "for the table" section of the menu, ordering the the "breaking bread" and breakfast spread". Both items come with a piece of their chubby pita, a super fluffy, thick, freshly made pita. Between these two items, there are a total of ten different dips and bites to try out. The favorites of the table included the muhammara -- a roasted red peppers dip with walnuts, the tahini and molasses spread, and the kaymak -- similar to clotted cream, with jam. If you're coming with a group, I'd definitely recommend ordering these two spreads and an extra chubby pita for $5. Along with the dips, we also got the octopus and sujuk. The knife-work and presentation on the octopus is unlike anything I've ever seen; the dish is beautifully presented and almost too pretty to eat. The octopus is cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the saltiness and brininess of the olive-caper garnish on top. By this point in the meal, we were actually becoming quite full. For our mains, we shared the Arayes kebab and the hot smoked trout. From the Arayes kebab platter, these shoe-string fries were hands down some of the best fries I've ever had. Reminiscent of McDonald's fries, the ones here are incredibly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously dusted with seasoning. Continuing with the pattern of beautiful presentation, the dish is also very aesthetic. The kebab meat is stuffed inside a chubby pita and is grilled to perfection. There's a nice crust on the meat, and kebab is made with with a cornucopia of herbs and spices. I was too a bit too full to try more than a bite of the trout dip, so unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to properly enjoy or evaluate the dishes. Overall, my group had a delicious meal at Dalida. The service here is fantastic, and food and beverage is solid all around. Definitely worth venturing out to the Presidio to try at least once. read more

We celebrated our anniversary here and left a note on the reservation, and to our surprise we were offered a glass of champagne on the house! We ordered the Octopus and Sujuk, Baking Bread, Crab Pasta, and Lamb Chops. The must orders are the octopus and baking bread, as that is their signatures and ones with the most unique flavor profile/presentation. The pastas are pretty basic, and the lamb chop was super tender and flavorful. The lamb is a little gamey, but the potatoes paired with it drowns out the flavor a little. Service was fast for the appetizers, but took a minute for the entrees. Our server was very friendly and patient with us as we asked questions regarding the menu. We felt pretty full afterwards despite the portion sizes looking a little small in the pictures. However, I do not feel like this restaurant has a "replayability" factor - the dishes were all good individually, but nothing out of the uniqueness that you can't find at other middle eastern/mediterranean or similar restaurants. Love this place! It's a hot commodity too because of its proximity to the Tunnel Tops and the lawn. So make reservations especially during the weekend. Sayat, the head chef, is a friend of a friend and he's always so welcoming. The food is always on point and the service never fails. Not to mention that the restaurant itself is beautiful and inside of a beautiful building and park. For dishes I recommend pretty much everything. My girlfriend and I met for lunch at Dalida and it was both our first time to try it. We ordered their "Breaking Bread" to start. It was delicious and came with several accompaniments. My favorite was the hummus which I enjoyed with the bread. For our entrée, we had the "Black Cod" and "Short Ribs." The cod was flavorful and fresh! The short ribs were okay. We did share a "Chocolate Torte" served with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Trout appetizer: this was quite delicious, the sauce nicely complemented the fresh trout. However, the dish is quite expensive for how small it is at $22, so I probably wouldn't get it again. 4/5 Breaking bread: the pita bread was super fluffy and delicious! The three dips given each had a unique flavor profile - I personally enjoyed the muhammara dip the most, it was perfectly smoky and tangy and had a subtle hint of spicy. 5/5 Saffron tahdig: this was above average, I thought the spices used for the rice were fantastic but I personally didn't enjoy how hard and crunchy the rice at the top was. The barberries were a cool addition to the overall flavor that somewhat helped mitigate the hardness of the rice. 4/5 Lamb shoulder: this was amazing, definitely the highlight of the meal. We were surprised by just how tender the lamb is when we cut it and ate it. When it's hot, it simply melts in your mouth. The sauce was also nicely spiced, it felt like it had a touch of cinnamon among some other sweeter spices that was nice. We also ended up dipping some of the lamb pieces in the muhammara dip from the breaking bread dish. Chickpeas and potatoes were also delectable and cooked perfectly. I've wanted to check out Dalida ever since I saw Chef Laura on Top Chef, and the food did not disappoint! We didn't make a reservation so we waited for an hour at the bowling alley and then we were seated at the bar. We loved sitting at the bar because we were able to ask the bartender for food recommendations! To start, we got the sunchoke kebab. Neither of us have tried sunchoke, and we were lucky to try it in kebab and chip form! The kebab was quite tasty and I liked the firm texture of the kebab. Sunchoke seems like a bland ingredient, kind of like a potato, so it paired well with the slightly sweet glaze and super garlicky sauce! We loved the garlic sauce and were eating as much as possible with every bite of sunchoke! Duck dolmas - we were so impressed by the plating and the cute little citrus fruit garnish! The dolmas were not too vinegary, the way a traditional dolma can sometimes taste. The duck and citrus paired really well together because the citrus helped brighten the heavier duck flavor. Our favorite dishes were the tahdig and lamb chops. The tahdig was perfectly crispy on the outside, had a beautiful saffron flavor and color, and the inside rice was nice and soft! The lamb chops were so unique! It was almost like there was a lamb kebab wrapped around a tender chunk of lamb meat in the center. The presentation was incredible! We also loved the sauce that came with the lamb. It made the hummus more flavorful and we loved dipping our lamb in the hummus and jus! Service: We came in as walk-ins during brunch on a day when bad weather pushed everyone indoors, and the walk-in list was already full. At first, there was some confusion around seating and I was turned away. I asked to speak with the manager to better understand what was going on, and Evelyn stepped in. She was professional, calm, and took the time to clearly explain the situation. More importantly, she found a way to accommodate my partner and me. Having worked in the service industry myself, I truly empathize with how tough it can be especially when guests are frustrated. Evelyn handled everything with grace and respect, and her staff followed her lead. Huge credit to her and the team for turning a stressful moment into a positive experience. I had the best experience dining at Dalida. Located in the beautiful and historic Presidio, Dalida serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine in a cozy, earthly setting. Dalida serves creative, fresh, and delicious Mediterranean in a gorgeous setting with lovely service! I'm glad I finally got to try it after seeing it on all the lists for years now. My friend and I were luckily able to walk in early on a Saturday, but it was a close call. When I thought all hope was lost, the hostess called us back to wait in the patio area for 15 minutes before being seated at the bar. Here's what we got: NA Beverages (Manjun $16 & Pomona $14): while we waited on the patio, we tried some gorgeous drinks! The prices are a little cray for NA, but it's clear a lot of care and artistry went into them. I thought the Manjun was super tasty, and who doesn't love some foam? The Pomona was great as well, lighter and brighter than the Manjun. Melon and Halloumi Salad (not currently on menu): this was good! This dish didn't change my mind on melon and cheese not being my favorite, but everything was super fresh and the individual components were great! Skewers and Lavash (not currently on menu): I thought this was fantastic. The portion was great, the meat was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, the lavash was plush and lightly sweet, and the spicy sauce was an amazing complement. I know it's not on the menu right now, but based on this, I'd say try anything skewered here. Or with lavash. Kibbe ($18): looking back now, $18 is very steep for 2 kibbe. I don't think there's any way I can authentically justify it. That being said, I've been looking for kibbe that comes close to what Aleppo Sweets in Providence, RI served when I went. Dalida has come the closest. My friend and I were both impressed. I would say, if you're here for an occasion and you like kibbe, I'd recommend. Manti ($29): this was wonderful. I think they killed it. I wish we yapped a bit less and had it warm. Even cold, everything was great. All the textures and flavors of the manti as well as the sauce. And I think the value is comparable if not better than other, more standard pastas you can find at similar restaurants in the city. Saffron Tahdig ($14): I love crispy rice, what can I say?!?! This was fun, a great side carb. The rice is great, the crisp is great, and you can really taste the saffron. Broiled Cauliflower ($10): gotta get the veggies! This was solid, especially if you, like me, enjoy dates with cauliflower. Chocolate Fig Roll Cake ($14): this was good, but I wanted a bit more. I wish the flavors were a bit more distinct and the texture a bit more hearty. That said, it's a good light, not-too-sweet dessert. We also tried this interesting dessert that was a combo of melon shaved ice, labneh jelly, and feta. Super cold and super interesting. Not a comforting dessert, but definitely a cool one. Overall, I enjoyed Dalida!! Everything had good points, and in the dessert camp, they have some options to that sound great especially for the winter season. Been high on my list to try and it's a beautiful restaurant. The food is also really artfully plated. We came for brunch and started with breaking bread which had perfectly complemented assortment of flavors paired with the fluffiest of pita bread (AKA chubby pita). Nicely picked veg, olives, a hummus, labneh and the most fantastic beet dip with walnuts. Absolute must...including ordering a second pita to make sure you finish all the dips. Tried the scallop crudo which had nice tomatoes and a light vinaigrette of sorts. Nice and light, very fresh scallop and I couldn't help myself from spooning up the sauce to finish. The kebab pita with fries was very pretty and an interesting way to serve, basically quartered and then dipped in parsley. The kebab was well cooked, slightly pink, but it flet like it needed something else. Maybe some sauce or some veg or pickle. That might have made it even better. The fries were also ok, we actually thought they tasted a little stale, not as fresh/crispy as we would have expected. Service was very god and overall we enjoyed our meal and would love to come back to try more of the menu. The sujuk reminded me of something like chorizo. A little too salty for me though. The breaking bread was amazing, so warm and fluffy. A highlight of the night. Lamb tandoor was tender, but a little too salty for me. There was a good meat to fat ratio which I appreciated. Saffron tahdig came with a cripsy exterior and was super fragrant. The portion was big. Cop sis skewers weren't too gamy and had a nice char. Loved the sauce for the duroc pork cheek souvlaki. Anatolian Erishte was new to me, and I didn't expect the dish to be the amount of creaminess that it was. I'm normally not a fan of baklava just because all of the ones I've tried are always too sweet for me due to the amount of honey. However, the layered baklava was very balanced. The pastry was still flaky and the raspberry provided enough acidity to balance the sweet. Loved the melon and dill bici bici as well. The mix of savory and sweet in a dessert is always appreciated. A Refreshing Mediterranean Gem in the Presidio Tucked inside a beautifully renovated Presidio building, Dalida is an absolute delight that brings a fresh and modern take on Mediterranean cuisine. The setting blends comfort with a refined touch-perfect for a relaxed lunch or special outing. The Octopus and Sujuk dish truly impressed me-unlike anything I have seen before! A delicate, paper thin layer of octopus topped almost like a mosaic with crushed olive-caper and pork sujuk sauce. The flavor combination was bold, balanced, and uniquely creative. Their signature chubby pita bread with two styles of hummus and yogurt, alongside pickled carrot, pepper was divine. Soft, chewy and perfectly complimented by the vibrant dips. I also loved the seasonal salad with thin slices of persimmon and nuts-light,crisp, and refreshing, an excellent palate cleanser. For dessert, the Chocolate Fig Rollet was a show stopper-a date walnut roll cake with walnut crumble, fig aigre-doux and saffron ice cream. The textures and flavors danced together beautifully-rich, nutty, and fragrant with a hint of spice. Another refreshing dessert option is the Pink Lady Apple sherbet. A perfect finish after an artful meal. The menu covers ocean, garden, land, pasta and Chef's recommendations. The chef there appeared in Top Chef in the Food Network, and other accolades received. Their cocktail and mock tail menu would keep family members all very happy. Overall, Dalida offers an exceptional dining experience. Innovative dishes, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and a relaxed yet quality atmosphere. A wonderful addition to San Francisco's dining scene. Dalida just keeps getting better! We went for a last-minute late lunch today, and it totally exceeded my expectations. The spot is so pretty--you can take a nice walk on the promenade afterward. We started with the winter salad, which had the perfect mix of flavors--bitter radicchio, sweet sugared walnuts, preserved lemon, feta, pepitas, and even little edible flowers. So good! For mains, he got the Arayes Kebab (pita stuffed with beef kebab, shatta emulsion, chives, and guindilla peppers), and I had the sunchoke vegetarian kebab with a light spread of lemony hummus. I thought it was a meat skewer at first, but it was actually a smoky, flavorful sunchoke--so creative! Service was great, and everything felt relaxed but special. We ordered from the regular dinner menu instead of the lunch course menu, but I might try that next time. Highly recommend--make a reservation and enjoy! read more

It's decorated well inside with some seating outside as well, and they have an extensive drink menu (though I did not have a drink). It's pricey, so this is definitely for more special occasions. Out of everything we ordered, the breaking bread was the standout. Personally, I probably won't order the pasta again. Overall, great for an elevated date night or a special occasion. read more

Came here to celebrate my brother's birthday dinner. Made a reservation in advance. Surprisingly full on a weeknight. My favorite dishes were the kayseri manti, octopus, fries, duck dolmas, and the "breaking bread" dips. I don't recommend the lamb chops it was so dry and not that flavorful and I would also pass on the oysters as well since it wasn't that amazing. The baklava here isn't your typical baklava - hard pass on that as well. The ambiance here is very basic they should put a little tlc into their decor as well and make the restaurant more aesthetic. The dining seats here aren't that comfortable either. Other than that our server was super nice, but overall it was a ok experience. read more

Lovely restaurant in the Presidio! Dinner reservations were easy to make online. There's a good amount of paid street parking and parking lots nearby so parking shouldn't be an issue. For dinner, we ordered the Raw Diver Scallops, Little Gems Salad, side of Pita, Grapeleaf Duck Dolmas, and Carob pasta. I liked all the dishes we had! The highlights for me were the scallops (fresh and "juicy"), the grapeleaf dolmas (paired so well with the persimmon slices and pomegranate), and the carob pasta (unique shape). The only thing I genuinely did not enjoy was the non alcoholic Seasonal Gazoz drink. It was way too sweet and syrupy. Please take this off the menu. Otherwise, would be decent at 10% sweetness. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Great atmosphere and decor inside and out. Modern Mediterranean vibes. Would recommend for a special occasion! read more

My friend and I came here for brunch. We had both perused the menu, and we really wanted to try a myriad of things. We ended up settling on: *Breaking bread - while I loved the muhammara, I found the overall plate semi lacking and honestly, would have skipped it. But mostly, that's because it was just filler things. *Crispy poached eggs - these were delicious and absolute perfection! Bonus points for the chubby pita. *Octopus and sujuk - this was special! I've never seen octopus cut up this way, and it was absolutely delicious! *Stuffed Atayef - we finished with this and it was really good. We also got the pistachio coffee was delicious (and I wish it was 2-3 times the size!), and I also got the Layla (delicious, I'm a sucker for anything black currant!) and my friend got the Golden Fleece (this was very interesting and savory). visited for weekday lunch. service was almost nonexistent, had to flag down someone everytime we needed something. ordered the lamb chops and arayes kebab. lamb chops were wrapped in an extra layer of lamb kebab, kebab though spiced was still kind of bland imo. surprisingly puffy appearance and lamb chop itself is very tender due to the outer layer. arayes kebab was juicy but kind of small and also a little bland despite the amount of spices. pickled onions and pepper on the side made it a lot better though. ordered the kunefe and it wasn't crisped enough, plenty of bites of kataifi were stale. location in the presidio barracks is really nice but i expected more. read more

Cute spot! Nice ambiance, servers were a little lax but once we mentioned we had somewhere to be they were very fast and helpful. Expensive! Was not ready for that! That being said, the three cheapo meals we got were still delish. I would've loved one more kibbe, and my aunt would've appreciated the dressing on the side, but besides that it was a good experience.
