Went for lunch last Saturday around 11:15 AM and we were seated on the patio. Everything on the menu looked interesting and, after getting a few recommendations from our server, we decided to share the Jerusalem Breakfast and the chicken wrap. The breakfast comes with several small dishes and dips served with pita bread, while the wraps are large and generously filled. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, especially the hummus and the flavorful chicken inside the wrap. The restaurant is close to the Mission District and, from the outside, it might not immediately catch your attention, but it is definitely worth trying. Super fast service! We came in without reservations and got seated immediately on a Saturday at 2ish. I got the lamb and beef wrap with a side of fries and we were able to request a side of hot sauce (made fresh)! The wrap was very juicy and came with a small scoop of freekeh rice. Well I have wondered about this place so the mystery is over. The food is delicious I ordered a lamb mansaf a traditional Jordanian dish . Which was grilled flatbread with lamb and saffron rice with yogurt sauce and a Turkish coffee. The food was filling the service was fine . I sat outside it was warm and quiet. We came here on a weeknight and did not have a reservation but were able to walk-in when it opened. Not sure you can always do that given how busy this place got the later in the evening it got during the course of our meal. We ordered the baba ganoush and pita, falafel rolls, salmon and freekah, and lentil soup. We also received a side of complimentary pita chips and dip and we ordered two desserts which were quite tasty. Our friend and my partner also paired a glass of wine that was purchased from Palestine, and they said that it was very good. The complimentary chips and dip were very good and fresh. The baba ganouch was good, and the pita was standard a bit warm. The falafel rolls were fine, but nothing special. My partner really liked the freekah and salmon, and he said the salmon was grilled to perfection. Service was sufficient with no delays less than an hour before closing time, despite most tables being full both inside and in the patio out front. Our food was ready in about 10-12 minutes. We ordered kufta skewers with garlic sauce instead of tahini (beef and lamb kabob with onions, parsley, and mediterranean spices), shish tawook skewers (grilled chicken breast), zahara bil tahini (cauliflower mixed with tahini and spices), jibneh nabulsi (salty grilled cheese, atop a very thin cracker). This was my first time at a Palestinian restaurant. The flavors were similar to Mediterranean cuisine (Greek, Turkish) but there were some interesting dishes I hadn't tried before. So glad to have tried it. A few things to call out: House sampler - nice way to try a lot of the appetizers. Normally I'm not a fan of tabbouleh, but this one was delicious. Not overly parsley forward. The pita was great as well, though we had to ask for another basket to finish all the dips. Chicken Shawarma - our favorite! The chicken was tender and flavorful and we loved the garlic sauce. Mansaf - many others called this one out so we had to try it. Maybe it was just a bad day but the lamb was quite gamey, so gamey that the spices couldn't cut through. Disappointing. I came with my friend after making a dinner reservation for Sunday evening. The host and wait staff were generally pretty helpful and efficient. We ordered the Mansaf, Zahara Bil Tahini, and Freekeh. In general, I would say that the food was good but not particularly memorable. The cauliflower felt a little soggy and oily, but the flavor was good. I liked the lamb in the wrap was yummy, but the wrap itself was cold and fell apart super easily. The freekeh was just standard grains. They also gave a free side of pita, which I appreciated but was also just okay. We ordered based on what our server recommended and what we saw was popular, but maybe we just didn't order the right things? That being, I really liked the ambiance. I love when places have a sampler platter and this was a good one. Each of the options was great and varied. The falafel was crispy and well spiced, the hummas was creamy and had a sauce on it that cut it with acidity nicely. The eggplant dip was rich and the walnut dip was complex. All of it went well with the bread to the point that I wished we had gotten more for dipping. The atmosphere was perfect. It had good lighting, great design without being too much. It seemed like it gets cold inside sometimes but they gave heaters above the seats for that. The service was friendly and quick as well. Wow the food here really is incredible and I loved everything about my dinner experience here. The restaurant is beautiful, and the servers were all attentive and great with providing suggestions to our group. The offered some complimentary chips and dips which was great, and we started off with the house sampler - everything in the sampler was delicious, and it's hard to pick any stand outs because they really all were great. We then had the Zahara Bil Tahini (cauliflower) which was also great - the size of the florets was great, and the seasoning was perfect. For our mains, we had the Kufta which was by far my favorite dish of the meal. The meat was SO flavorful and the sauce and rice that came with it were wonderful accompaniments. When I come back I will definitely order this again. We also had the Chicken Shawarma rolls, which were also delicious. I loved that the rolls were perfectly bite sized and packed with flavors. What an absolute gem! Came here for date night and we were blown away by the ambience, service and food. It is beautifully decorated and felt very cozy and homey. The service is amazing! It was 4-5 pieces of chicken, served with a skewer of baby onions, tomatoes, a small scoop of freekeh and a garlic dip. The chicken was stellar, very juicy and flavorful and the garlic dip was delicious and creamy. We also ordered chicken shawarma - the meat was delicious and the sauce was incredible too. Since it was cut up into smaller rolls, it made it easy to share. At the very end of our meal, we were served complimentary decaf arabic coffee which was the perfect touch. Overall, the food was more than enough for two people and all the flavors were incredible. There are a good amount of Mediterranean places to try in the city, and Freekeh is definitely one of them! It's named after the wheat they use in Palestinian cuisine, and had a bunch of options to try based on whether you are craving more food or less food. More like tapas style. The decor was really beautiful and would make for a great date night! We got the house sampler and the falafel pita wrap bites. The sampler was pretty good, had hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, muhammara, and tabbouleh. The baba ghanouj and muhammara were the most flavorful I have had, with the hummus being good. The falafel also were crispy and fresh. The pita that they served with it was not good at all as they were dry and hard, might have been the batch that we got. The falafel shareable wraps were bite sized and tasty, highlighting the falafel well. We also got the Cinderella drink, which was a little diluted to my liking. We were glad we got to try a Palestinian styled restaurant with tapas style as well to be able to try different items. I am excited to try more of the dishes next time! read more

Was so excited to try this place when I saw it on Yelp and brought a group of 6 friends (a few who are vegetarian) over for lunch on a weekend. It was pretty dead inside but decor is really nice and the servers were also friendly and patient with us as we decided what to eat. Overall, the food we got was all pretty flavorful but we still left hungry after getting 8 dishes :( The dips in the sampler were all very good, and their meet for schwarma was all seasoned well. The falafel was also really standout (nice and crispy on outside, moist and delicious filling). The pita / wraps (the skins) were generally not very good imo (pretty flaky and hard). I think this was a more upscale experience than our group was looking for, so maybe part of the reason why it was just so-so - but the portion size is small. Hmmmm, this is a tough review. I like the concept and the service but I found the food to be rather bland. The waiter was great. He took the time to explain everything. The complimentary chips and three dips were nice as was the complimentary coffee at the end of the meal. We ordered the arabic salad, the side of falafel and the chicken schwarma rolled bites. The salad was definitely the highlight. We shared one but i could have easily eaten a whole one by myself. I didn't love the tahini though i did enjoy the falafels. The chicken in the rolls was bland. I tried adding the garlic butter but it tasted a tad pungent to my palate. If you want authentic Palestinian food this may be your best bet. read more

As someone who's spent time in the West Bank, I loved seeing all the Palestinian representation at this restaurant. At the start our friendly server brought out a platter with complimentary pita chips and 3 kinds of dips (which she said were local to the Gaza Strip) - everything tasted great! All the of the small plates we ordered (jibneh halloumi, labneh, falafel, baba ganoush) were excellent - the falafel in particular stood out - I'm pretty sure this is the best falafel in the Bay Area! For the mains, the wraps we ordered were hit or miss so we'll probably get the skewers next time. The cauliflower with tahini was simple, but delicious and the warm pita was nice and fluffy. The mansaf lamb + rice wraps didn't really work unfortunately. It's a dish that you want to like, but it had several issues. Assembly wise, the filling was squished out and fell out when you took a bit. Texturally, the shredded lamb and rice on the soft side didn't really provide much contrast. Flavorwise, it didn't really pop. Even with the sauce there was just not much to it. I had never heard of Freekeh until I saw someone post about it on social media, but they definitely deserve more publicity. The food was delicious, and I loved the homey, cozy vibes. My friend and I arrived around 645pm on a Friday and were able to get seated on the patio without a reservation - they have strong heat lamps too, so no need to worry about the chilly SF air. We asked our server for recommendations and ordered from nearly every section of the menu lol which turned out to be kind of a lot of food for the two of us. One thing to note is that there are nuts sprinkled throughout the menu, so those with allergies will need to be careful. - Chips and sauces: instead of the usual chips and salsa in the mission, we got to try some new sauces! I don't remember what was in each one, but I liked the red salsa best bc it was actually spicy. - Hummus: this was good but not my favorite - it has more of a grainy texture whereas I prefer a smooth hummus. I don't know what the green oil in the middle was (didn't taste like olive oil to me) but it was sooo good! The pita basket came out fresh and warm too. - Zahari bil tahini (fried cauliflower): I normally hate cauliflower but fry any vegetable and I'm likely to eat it lol. This was a very light fry so it didn't feel too heavy, and the tahini was so flavorful that I actually really liked this dish. - Shish tawook (chicken breast skewer): this comes already removed from the skewer so it's a bit easier to eat. The spices were so fragrant and the char added even more dimension to the flavors. I do wish it was a bit more tender, but such is the challenge with chicken breast. There was a small scoop of freekeh as well, which we had both never had before - it kind of reminded me of brown rice. - Mansaf shrak roller (spiced lamb rolled in flatbread): I've never had lamb that tasted like this before! You could tell it's lamb but it wasn't gamey. There are so many textures and flavors between the meat, rice, flatbread, and yogurt sauce, but they all blend well together. Service was warm and friendly, and the overall ambiance was very nice. We were one of two tables seated in the front patio, so noise wasn't an issue at all, but inside seemed quiet enough for conversation too (from what I heard when the door would open). This would be a good spot for dinner with friends or a date; if you have a larger group, I would recommend making a reservation.
