The dishes they served the food in were also good quality, and the takeout containers were the same quality. It was convenient that we could use the same containers to take our leftovers home. However, I was not satisfied with the amount of meat in my meal. My plate had much more rice than meat. Considering the price I paid, I expected a more generous portion of meat. My friend ordered the same type of meal, but with chicken, and her portion had a lot more chicken. I'm not sure if the difference was because I ordered rice instead of salad, or because I ordered it with meat and they simply added more rice instead of meat. I'm really not sure what the reason was. Fannoos is tucked near Union Square, No tables, no frills, just a narrow, buzzing spot that clearly has a loyal following. I knew what I wanted too: chicken shawarma sandwich and a side of falafel. Normally I don't post bad reviews when I do it's because it is. I got the Chone plate even with extra sauce the chicken and the rice were so dry. The pickled veggies weren't pickled at all. I walk everyday on my way to work and i finally gave it try. But I was highly disappointed and believe me i love chicken shawarma. But it sucks to say I've had better in chico California and for specially being a big city. Maybe they were just off but I'll try them again. Solid middle eastern style fast casual place in the union square area for a quick salad bowl or wrap. Prices were fair and portions were good and the place was small and clean. I got a chicken shawarma style salad and my only complaint was that they pre shaved the chicken and it was sitting in a warmer but it was pretty overcooked and dried out. Not the best lavash wrap I have ever had but I was starving and this was one of the few things open close to my hostel. What I did enjoy about it was the size, I felt like it was a very generous portion of chicken as well and it was quite flavorful. Food - food was good! lasted for two meals but i am a smaller girl so maybe for others it would last 1 1/2 meals! i enjoyed the shawarma bowl, the chicken was great and all sides we're good. my only tip would be allowing people to sub which sauce they get with the order as i wasn't able to substitute the spicy sauce for something like hummus.
