This restaurant was delicious! The food was flavorful, authentic, and fresh and had a variety of sauce options to choose from. It also came with a free side salad on the side with hummus. Great fast service as well!

Went on a saturday, downtowns pretty empty so not a lot of people there, but there was only one staff The food was pretty good, i'm a health nut so I like how light and the amount of veggies it had in the lamb and beef shawarma i ordered, ordered a side salad for 2 dollars, portions are generous. More like a togo place, or eat and leave. I wouldnt pick that place to hangout.

Delicious small Mediterranean place. Went on a Saturday 2pm and was only customer there! Ambience - 9/10 -- Quaint interior and small overflow upstairs area with restrooms. Very clean and well-lit. Service - 9/10 -- Fast and friendly, well-packed meal-to-go and explained each of the sauces. Quality - 7/10 -- Solid food. Very warm, although I found the meats just a bit dry, would have preferred more tender or thinner. They also could absorb the sauces better. Value - 9/10 -- Good for SF! $20 for a delicious meal! Overall - 8.5/10

It's nice to have this restraunt closed to my work and it had become my favorite place. Today they have the lamp shank special and it tastes so soft and flavorful. The rice is good too. I usually order their lamb and beef gyro. I highly recommend this restaurant.

They were pretty nicely busy on a Sunday night but we didn't have to wait too long for our food which was nice. While we were waiting though, we saw an order of the fries that looked super yummy and had to order one. The food was all super delicious. : German Style Beef Lamb Gyro Gemuse: The German Style Gemuse I was nicely flavored with goat cheese, fresh and sundried tomatoes. The first bite I took was pretty heavenly. The plate was also pretty yummy but I prefer the burger form. Fries: We also appreciated the fries which tasted freshly fried. They had a nice density to them and the outside had a nice thicker layer which I didn't expect but was still delicious. Baklava: Their baklava also looked beautiful so we had to try one. We got their cold baklava which was sort of milky at the bottom and flaky on top with pistachio filling in the center. It was really delicious and not too sweet and would highly recommend. I will definitely come back to try their other menu items!

The dolma were overly acidic, and I'm not talking about squeezing the lemon they included, this was baked into the filling itself. Four pieces for $9.95 also felt steep for what you get. The kebab wrap arrived on lavash when I ordered pita, which is a small but noticeable detail. The first few bites were underwhelming but I will say it redeemed itself toward the end. Got really juicy and the flavor came through in the last few bites. I'm left wondering if ordering close to closing affected the quality, or if this is just what to expect. Either way it didn't match the ratings for me. Maybe I'll give it another shot in person someday, but for now I'd explore other options first.

I'm sure there are other Persian cafés and restaurants as good as Lavash. I hardly stop to think about what made Lavash interesting. The floral aroma throughout the entire atmosphere, the gentleness of the waiters and hostesses who're well focused on serving others, and their signature paper thin Lavash bread. A clear teapot filled with saffron tea with rock candy on a stick; seen how they dip it in after pouring the tea. Interesting orange color indeed! A plate of zucchini, grape tomatoes, Moroccan mint leaves, and a pair of Bulgarian cheese; complimentary for my first visit here. Persian noodle soup, filled with beans, chickpeas, and lentils; loved the floral notes in every spoonful. Main course, veggie kabob on a bed of basmati rice drenched in saffron and spices, along with some onions and mushrooms, and of course, a large Lavash bread at the bottom to fill the whole plate. The best part is to completely sandwich wrap after I marginalized the contents on the plate. Ahhh! Satisfying to the last bite of herbs and spices. Not filling though, but I had no need for any dessert. Another highly recommended place to eat for locals and tourists alike. I let some of my friends know how much they'll love the best Persian dishes locals raved about. Thumbs up for the people of Lavash!

When we arrived at around 7:30 pm, there were tables available. It's a comfortable cafe-like restaurant with mural paintings on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

The lamb korma had so much flavor, a little spice kick (loved it), and the chana dal was surprisingly good too. I hate any kind of beans but this was so good.
