    Pepperoni and sausage pizza
    Dustin C.

Nice and quaint pizzeria. I was simply looking for a place that sold pizza by the slice and this was perfect! The guy behind the counter was friendly, and mentioned that he appreciated my business, which I thought was nice to hear. I simply ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and he popped it into a pizza over to heat up, and it came out nice and tasty! The slice was an above average size and full of flavor. Honestly it hit the spot on a late night carving for a slice of pizza!

Pizza, very good pizza. The person serving us was so very nice, and it took less than two minutes for the pizza to be ready. It was perfectly hot and absolutely delicious. I got a Hawaiian slice and my boyfriend got a pepperoni. Both very good, and neither of us managed to even finish our slices. Quite generous portions, and we definitely will enjoy the leftovers. We ate inside and it calm, quiet, and chill. Overall great experience, exactly the kind of laidback stress free place I was looking for.

I am a Pizza Hut original pan pizza fan. So when we came across this little gem, I was pleasantly surprised. Fast service, friendly help, and oh my gosh..great tasting pizza. My mouth was watering before we got it back to the hotel room. Fresh ingredients, tasty meat, and the crust to perfection. Got to try it. Thank you for a great experience.

Pretty good pizza at a decent price. I'll definitely be ordering from here again. I ordered online for delivery so I can't speak to the ambiance or customer service but the pepperoni pizza with jalapeños and cheese garlic bread was yummy.

Is this my #1 pizza in SF? It's good but not quite there. So why 5 stars? Chico's is consistent. Consistently tasty. They show up every day to make a solid pie. I've gone here dozens of times and I will continue to come back because I know the pizza will taste good and always fill me up. Pizza crust is soft but not too doughy. Cheap pizza by the slice. Jalapeño poppers were nice and crunchy.

Super tiny place. About two tables that hold 4-6 people and maybe two or three more tables that hold 2 people. The wait was about 20 minutes for two medium pizzas and mozzarella sticks but they were good. For that dinner and four sodas it was about $60 before the tip I think which wasn't that bad. They also have pizza by the slice if that's more your price point or need but it's fresher to order whole new pizza. We got a sausage and pepperoni pizza and a Philly cheese steak pizza. I really like them both but the Philly was my favorite. The mozzarella sticks were delicious also but they came out the same time as the food which was a little annoying but the also seemed to only have a couple people on staff. The marinara it came with was good. It seemed to have a kick which I think is garlic which I really liked. The crust is also delicious which you can't say for every pizza place. There is not a lot of parking. There is not a lot of space and the wait can be a little long. However the pizza is tasty. So it depends on what works for you.

Without a doubt the best pizza around Lombard St. Down to earth location, very good prices, clean and most importantly the food is great! Pizza came out blazing hot after about 7/8min and was brought with paper plates (condiments already on the table) Large pizza will do well for 4 adults, but in all honesty it appeared to be a bit greasy (I like it that way, it's the pep :) ) We recommend!

The best pizza in San Francisco Everything is perfect The service is great. The toppings are fresh. The crust is out of this world a must while visiting San Francisco.

Cheese pizza! The owner a real one for helping us get extra oregano.

This place was literally right next to my hotel room. Smelled good when I walked in, great choices and variety of food entrees. The food was 10/10, the waters and drinks were crispy 10/10, but the service was even better! The employee did 10/10 service, was too kind! Please order the mozzarella sticks, they go long!

Hair that I pulled out of the middle of the pizza
    Angela M.

Found a long hair in my single veggie slice. I wanted to enjoy it and support the small biz on Lombard St. but even without the hair it was pretty bad. I'm giving it three stars for having a good crust that i only ended up eating after I got the hair stuck in my throat.

5 star experience without any doubt…read more It started with Eros Ramazzotti music as I walked in. I thought - the music is definitely authentic Italian. I saw a "pasta lab" sign and thought - that may or may not be authentic, never heard of that before. When my fettuccini pasta arrived I thought - it definitely looks authentic - heathy yellow pasta color. The first bite was an official confirmation that their pasta is freshly made, the sauce was amazing and the Parmesan was top-notch. This restaurant does not try to cut corners on lower quality inexpensive ingredients. This was one of the best fettuccini plates I had in SF. The only regret? I ate too quickly because I was on a rush. I wish I had more time to savor the flavors. Highly recommended and I will be running (not walking) back.

$25 lasagna. Having never been there before, I went with the signature house dish. Thinking I was…read moregoing all-in is also part of why I'll probably shy away from returning. When the dish landed, I was initially impressed. But after the first bite, it felt a bit like the Wizard of Oz: impressive presentation hiding something less substantial underneath. Their lasagna is a sort of deconstructionist take on the classic dish. The noodles are cooked and layered almost naked between barely any pockets of filling. There were a few tidbits of meat, maybe sauce and no cheese within the layers themselves. The noodles are then baked, cut, plated, and topped with what I'd guess was about a 6 oz ladle of their bolognese, finished with finely pre-grated parmesan. The first bite was overwhelmingly pasta-forward. It took me a moment to understand how the dish had been assembled against my expectations. Once I cut into it and spread everything out, it became clear this wasn't the kind of lasagna I think of when ordering lasagna. It didn't check the familiar boxes - a rich ragù, maybe a creamy béchamel, or the sharp, salty depth of cheeses layered throughout. The dish lacked the complexity and savory comfort I was craving and expecting. Another miss was the homemade flatbread (which I went back and paid cash for, so it wasn't included in the total). Traditional Italian flatbread is a yeast-free bread made with flour, olive oil or lard, salt, and water or milk, then rolled thin and cooked until crisp yet chewy. This version tasted like flour, lard, and water. It wasn't crisp or chewy. As soon as I started chewing, it turned into an unappetizing doughy mass in my mouth. After the first quarter-piece, I didn't eat anymore. As for everything else, I arrived around 7:15 on a Saturday night, and the inside was packed with a small line to the door. The outdoor tables weren't full, but it was summer in San Francisco, more people were jockeying for seats inside than out. But I wasn't too concerned and I got there around 7, so all that is on me. There were a few specials written on a chalkboard, and the cashier was awesome while explaining those. They were incredibly patient. I apologized for holding up the line, and in a very Italian way, they assured me it was my right to make sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. That interaction honestly stood out as one of the better parts of the experience. I grabbed a table just as one opened up, helped myself to water a few times from the station, and my food arrived in about 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. There's been a bit of internal conflict with this review. I usually don't like judging a restaurant based on a single dish, especially a restaurant with so many positive reviews. But I also don't spend as much time in that part of the city anymore, and there are simply too many other places I still want to try. Unfortunately, while there was some good-looking food on other tables, if a restaurant's claim of lasagna as its signature dish doesn't hold up, the first visit just didn't do enough to pull me back for a second chance.

They offer a great variety of fresh pasta, and you can customize your dish with different sauces. They also have specialties like meat and veggie lasagna, along with fresh salads topped with generous amounts of cheese. We ordered the burrata salad, the meat lasagna, and the tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce, and everything was delicious. My partner loved the perfectly al dente noodles, and I really enjoyed the unique, creamy sauce on the lasagna. The burrata salad paired nicely with everything, though I do wish it had a little more balsamic dressing. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for fresh, homemade Italian dishes.
