Lombard street is famous for its crooked street but it isn't the crookedest street in the city of San Francisco ( Go to Vermont street bring your own big wheel race this Easter Sunday and find out). Lombard street is a tourist trap because the tourist are trapped in their hotel rooms at night .Lombard street starting on Van Ness to the Presidio has over 30 hotels and motels. Pizza on the weekend at midnight after watching sporting event after a few adult drinks at a bar, club ,and show count me in. I am always open to having local based pizzerias to enjoy a good pizza pie. Hearing about this place having three restaurants across San Francisco made it sound like a chainstore pizza joint like Pizza Butt( I mean Pizza Hut). I have tried this place before and it's local to San Francisco and I wanted to give it a whirl in person. On a Spring stroll down Lombard and Van Ness where the hotel and motel signs are over mile deep I wanted to try an American favorite which are pizza pies. Pizza pies have become more American than apple pies these days . I went inside Chico's and tried their pepperoni and sausage before Good Friday approaches. The pizza slice was kind of cheesy like some in SF and it had pepperoni and sausage but not too saucy . The dough was pretty doughy but flakey like some in SF. It reminded me of some old school style of San Francisco pizza which is good paired with a case of beer. Finding pizza after midnight in San Francisco is pretty "hard "the pizza at Chicos is pretty doughy and the cheese was a bit "charred "located at "Lombard" which is a street but starting on Van Ness resembles a "boulevard " Come to Lombard street in the Marina where people "dwell "among the over 30 different" hotel"and "motel" but Chicos is the place where you'll find in SF the cheesy pizza "smell" read more

Came on a Saturday afternoon. They were not busy at all. The inside was small with a couple tables. They have slices you can order from, and whole pizza they make fresh. Nice and quaint pizzeria. I was simply looking for a place that sold pizza by the slice and this was perfect! The guy behind the counter was friendly, and mentioned that he appreciated my business, which I thought was nice to hear. Pizza, very good pizza. The person serving us was so very nice, and it took less than two minutes for the pizza to be ready. It was perfectly hot and absolutely delicious. They have it right, by having you go up and place your own order (save on hiring a waiter/waittress). They have a great business going here. Super tiny place. About two tables that hold 4-6 people and maybe two or three more tables that hold 2 people. The wait was about 20 minutes for two medium pizzas and mozzarella sticks but they were good. For that dinner and four sodas it was about $60 before the tip I think which wasn't that bad. They also have pizza by the slice if that's more your price point or need but it's fresher to order whole new pizza. We got a sausage and pepperoni pizza and a Philly cheese steak pizza. I really like them both but the Philly was my favorite. The mozzarella sticks were delicious also but they came out the same time as the food which was a little annoying but the also seemed to only have a couple people on staff. The marinara it came with was good. It seemed to have a kick which I think is garlic which I really liked. The crust is also delicious which you can't say for every pizza place. There is not a lot of parking. There is not a lot of space and the wait can be a little long. However the pizza is tasty. So it depends on what works for you. read more

Went to a baseball game and decided to stop to get some pizza with my wife after the game . As we were paying ! My wife accidentally left her purse on the counter. We paid for our pizza and took off without noticing we had left her purse behind . After 1 hour drive back home we notice the purse was on in our possession . I quickly called Chico pizza ! The gentlemen who I believe was the owner explained he rushed quickly to attempt and give us the purse but we had took off too quickly . Just bought a pesto pizza which says it doesn't come with onions, they added onion I told them this is what I didn't order, and the Asian guy started yelling. We are a family of four. My husband & I have 2 amazing sons on the Autism spectrum. It is very difficult for us to go out as a family to enjoy a meal together. Places are either too loud with music, people chatting or folks stare at our eldest son, 20 who giggles, laughs, and speaks loudly when excited, happy or overwhelmed. Today we walked into Chico's. We took a chance and gave it a try. We'll never know if it will work for us unless we try, right? A nice older gentleman named Victor(hope I remembered correctly) and I told him we would order as soon as my husband walks in. Then a super kind young man named Mustafa took our order. We switched tables to not be right in front of the ordering counter. Mustafa immediately came around to clean the table as the guest had just left. The ambiance was perfect. Quite, there was a tv hung above us playing music videos very low. Our son was happy as he loves seeing all the pretty girls in videos. Mustafa brought our food over quickly. The pizza was so delicious! The dough used was super soft and delightfully pleasing. We took our time eating as our son was enjoying himself and wasn't in his usual rush to leave. We finished up, and my husband & 1st son went to go get our vehicle. Our 2nd son & I stayed back to clean up the table and put leftovers in a box for home. It was then that I spoke to Mustafa explaining about our family and how pleased we were with the food and the laid back feeling of the place. Mustafa was very engaging and truly listened to everything I shared. I even shared with him how our 1st son loves pretty blondes, baseball and cool cars! Autism is NOT stopping our son! The genuine smiles and laughter from Mustafa truly touched my Mother's heart . I told him we'd be back again for sure! We found a new place to enjoy lunch or dinner as a family as it should be! I asked him if I could give him a hug and he rushed over I invited him and any friends he would like to include to a University of San Francisco Dons baseball game in the spring. I'm their Team Mom and love sharing a fun filled, exciting game of baseball with folks I call "Community Angels" Folks we come across who have shown kindness & patience to our sons. I ended up ordering the medium Chico's Special and the Garlic Parmesan Wings. The pizza was good and had a small cheese pull to it. The wings were good too and I liked how it had bits of chopped garlic on it since that is usually not something I see on garlic parmesan wings. I also liked how the wings were not too soggy. Chicos Pizza is on my top 10 places to eat in San Francisco. This is because of the value and the portions you get with the pastas. The first time I came, I was with a friend who recommended Chicos. The nice thing is they close at midnight, so you can come in late and eat. Parking can be difficult, but late at night, you can find parking in the street. Otherwise, it might be a small walk. Chicos itself is a small spot. Inside, they have their pizzas on display. Fresh and smells amazing inside. The menu is on the wall, so you can sit down and take your time to choose what you want. Restrooms available too. My first time I decided to get Spaghetti and meatballs. At $13, you get a big portion with bread included. I must've been very hungry, because it was sooo good. The next visits I branched my options and tried the pizza, wings and sandwiches. The pizza is okay, but at $6, not my favorite. Wings are seasoned well and sandwiches are just as good as the pasta. Wow, I was really amazed with this place. My friend and I were specifically looking for a good pizza place in the area that sold by the slice, and we found Chicos. We were pleased to find that they have indoor seating available, the inside of the restaurant isn't huge, but it's quite nice. The fake wooden tables actually fit in well with the colors and tones of the restaurant, with vibrant paintings/photos of SF adorning the walls. Even the restroom had a lot of charm, with earth toned marble countertops, and mosaic tiles lining all four sides, along with more of those colorful paintings. The pizza doesn't look like much at first glance, but cooked fresh or reheated, those pepperoni and sausage slices hit the spot. Each single slice was cut into two pieces, because it's somewhat large. So we both ended up eating one and a half slices. And if you're not quite stuck on getting pizza, they have a very extensive menu of food items, their sandwiches particularly sound appetizing. But either way, I would definitely return for the pizza slices. The quality isn't exactly 5 stars, but the cheese and toppings are fresh and delicious, and at just around five bucks per slice, this place has great value for pizza in SF. The worker was friendly, efficient, and helpful too, and there was pretty much zero wait time.
