Thai Milk Tea & Matcha Oat Mango
Christina T.

We stopped by about 30 minutes before closing and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our drinks were made. We ordered the Matcha Oat Mango and the Thai Milk Tea and both were delicious. The Thai Milk Tea was not overly sweet but the Matcha Oat Mango was on the sweeter side, which I think is from the mango jam. Some matcha places make their matcha really bitter and here it wasn't. We're not from the area, so parking was a little tricky to find, the store is on the smaller side, but it's super cute inside with a cozy vibe. Overall, a nice little stop.

Tiny tiny coffee shop with limited seating inside and out front. Their drink menu is pretty large with unique flavored coffee, tea, and matcha options. I tried the hot banana Thai kafe latte which is their thai style coffee with real mashed up banana, LOVED it. Each cup comes with a cute dried flower on it too! I really enjoyed this drink, now I want to add mashed bananas to everything

This is the tiniest little coffee shop and it's super cute. There's a limited menu of drinks and a few bites. They have little succulent plants as well. There are only a few seats in the cafe and there is a table outside. I got the strawberry matcha and it was really good. The cups are cute with a little flower!

Very cute place with good coffee. Own by a Thai woman and it was fun to chat with her in a little Thai since I have learned a bit of the language in Thailand. She's super friendly and often feed dogs treats to dogs visiting with their owners.

I stopped here randomly to get a matcha latte (hot). With just a touch of sweetness, and an unexpected dusting of matcha powder, it hits the spot. She's resting on the marble cafe table, while I write this review. Yes, "she" because you'll have to look at her portrait to understand how beautiful she looks in her decorated cup in this eclectic, romancy cafe. You can get a variety of dainty snacks here, including brownie bites, mixed nut crackers, and almond cookies. If you need something more, there are egg bites, potato puffs, scones, and Thai curry with rice. Doggie treats and a water bowl too! Next time I'll try the specialty, Thai milk tea. My new favorite little cafe.

Really a lovely cafe. The piccolo is a well balanced espresso drink with just the right amount of milk. I also enjoyed the sesame and almond cookies. Terrific service. The coffee cups have this sweet flower and message on them, "plant dreams, grow miracles." It is a very small space with just a few seats. Would definitely come back!

Cute flowers taped on the cup!

I wanted some coffee and like to support small shops. I was drawn to this cafe because a reviewer mentioned a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This was definitely not the case. The employee looked like she didn't want to be there and is in need of customer service training. I ordered an iced drink that tastes of chemicals. 1 star for the cute flowers taped on the cup and 1 star for cleanliness.

I visited Earth Tone Cafe and the service is what really brought my rating down. On the menu, the rose tea is only listed as a cold drink, so when my order was given to me as a hot tea instead, my boyfriend politely pointed it out. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or asking for clarification, the server bluntly said that we never specified hot or cold, even though the menu itself shows it as a cold drink by default. She did remake the drink, but the way she handled the situation just felt unfriendly. On top of that, she took back the hot drink instead of letting us keep it, which just came across as a bit stingy. Otherwise, it's such a warm, cozy, and cute spot. The decor is aesthetic and inviting, making it a great place to sit and relax. The drinks and food also look amazing, and I was excited to try them. I ordered a blueberry scone, which was flavorful and had a nice tang, though I wish it had been warmed up. The rose tea was tasty as well. It's a shame because the café itself is really lovely, and I would have rated it five stars if the service had been more professional and welcoming. I really hope they work on that, because otherwise, this place has a lot of potential.

Cutest coffee cup ever!

My friend and I popped in to try a few drinks. I had a perfect Americano, and one of the three teas he ordered instantly became his new favorite. I'm still obsessed with the cups, too. I'm not big on writing reviews, but I had to for this place because the owner completely melted my heart. He clearly loves the neighborhood and knows every dog that comes in by name. I didn't bring my dog this trip, but I wish I had after finding such a warm, welcoming spot. Come for the drinks, stay for the people, and bring your pup to meet their new best friend. Truly a special place.

A sweet little (the space is tiny) cafe. There was room for a couple of tables and people were working on their laptops. You order at the counter and the drinks came out quickly. I tried a cookie and it was delicious.

Earth Tone Cafe has been in my bookmarks for a while now, and I finally found some time to visit them during a weekday afternoon. The shop was mostly empty, which is what I hoped for as I wanted to enjoy my book in a comfy spot. It is a smaller sized cafe, which makes it feel very cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating offered. The shop was bright and clean, and the staff was also very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I really wanted to try their ube latte, which I saw photos of on their Yelp, but it wasn't on the menu. I asked the barista if they still offered it, and she said she could make it for me! It came out a very vibrant purple color and I could taste and feel actual chunks of ube in it, which I was surprised by as other cafe use some sort of artificial syrup or powder. Definitely check this place out for a slow and relaxing experience with great coffee options!

Cute cafe that has a little seating and a good Americano. Hot and cold drinks even Thai tea. Nice decor and there's WiFi and a few plugs. It's not a huge spot but welcome addition to the neighborhood! I recommend.

A cute mini coffee shop open until late afternoon! Dropped by around 3:15pm for afternoon coffee. Got myself a banana latte and it was great! Definition of "not too sweet" for a flavored latte. There were chunks of banana in the drink, which added to the banana flavor of the latte--it reminded me of a dirty (shot of espresso) banana milk from Boba Guys, but less sweet. This place is great for one-stop coffee, a small snack (I saw some egg bites on display and other trinkets), and/or catching up with a friend. Mini tables are provided inside and outside, as well as a dog water bowl for passing by dogs. All in all a cute coffee shop on Irving with interesting flavors on the menu. Will definitely return to try them!

It might be a little controversial, but to me, the ambiance of a cafe is most important! And at Sohn, the atmosphere is immaculate. It's very obviously a Korean-style cafe. The interior is washed in a palette of soft neutrals and pale wood. Lots of open spaces, airy lantern light fixtures, fabric tapestries, etc., etc., etc. So beautiful, and so perfect for photos! (My friend and I took lots, believe me.) The only "complaint" I have is that it isn't open seating; an employee will seat you when you arrive, so you can't really choose where you want to settle. Kinda bummed because I wanted to see upstairs. Even though I prioritize cafe aesthetics over food, I'm pleased to report that the food and drinks at Sohn are just as delicious as they look. Style AND substance! There's a QR code at each table, which you scan to order. The workers bring the items to your table directly, which is pretty nice. Here is a rundown of everything we ordered: - Banana oat milk hojicha latte: Wait, why was this so good? It actually might be one of the best drinks I've ever tried. You can tell they use real bananas; there are literally chunks of banana at the bottom. No artificial syrups here. The banana is sweet and creamy, not bitter at all. Plus, it's oat milk! Yay for my fellow lactose-intolerant friends. The hojicha was okay, though. I think that, if it were nuttier, the roasted flavor would've complemented the banana so well, bringing this drink to a whole new level. - Coffee hojicha: Pretty bitter if you don't add syrup, but once it's properly sweetened, it's pretty good. Since their hojicha isn't very flavorful, it's easily overpowered by the coffee, so I wouldn't recommend this one. (Though it's not bad.) - Popcorn chicken: This was so delicious and beautifully presented in a round stone bowl. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the fried rice cakes were a unique inclusion! They are rolled in a seaweed seasoning, which reminds me of furikake. Glad they have savory items, too. - Gochujang cookie: Meh, honestly, you can skip this. It's not a bad cookie per se, but it tastes like a regular ol' sugar cookie. I don't taste the gochujang at all. It's not even a pretty cookie, haha, so I wouldn't even order it for aesthetics either. But overall, I had a great experience at Sohn! I saw a lot of people working on their computers here, but it's also a solid spot for photos or hanging out with friends. Parking wasn't too bad when I went (a weekday afternoon), but I heard the line can get long. I would totally recommend this place, and I hope I can return soon to try more items.

The salted cheese cream on top added this perfect savory balance to the sweetness of the drink. It's one of those combinations that sounds a little unexpected but just works. My one note for next time is to go half sugar so the matcha flavor can really shine through, but that's a personal preference more than a criticism. The Black Sesame Latte was good, but we both wished the sesame flavor was a little more pronounced. If you're going in expecting bold, nutty black sesame notes, it's a touch on the subtle side. Still enjoyable, just leaves you wanting a little more of what drew you to order it in the first place. Overall a really fun spot with creative drinks and a great vibe. On the May Fourth be with you today Star Wars movie has Cinderella undertones. Growing up the Piroshki was all around the corner liquor stores in San Francisco especially in the Mission District ( a whole different Cinderella story). The piroshki would be a fast microwaved treat to have during lunch and after school. Over the years I have been very selective when picking up a piroshki from a corner store because they can be very doughy. There is one bakery in San Francisco which has been making a variety of piroshkis for over 70 years. This Russian bakery has both the savory and the sweet . It's located on Balboa street and it's called Cinderella. On a Spring stroll I landed at Cinderella. Inside you can see and smell the delicious bake goods which can be sweet and some salty like some in SF. On the sweet side I enjoy their honey cake but no donuts . On the savory side it's the piroshkis. My favorite is the beef and cheddar piroshki. It wasn't too cheesy like some in SF but the beef was tender and it almost tastes like a smashed burger ( not to be confused with smash burger) all in a soft bun. The are other interesting items on the menu like Pelmeni which are Russian dumplings and Siberian Pie. You can wash it all down with a Matcha Latte ( for Don Juan de la Matcha) or the Kompot drink. There is a planned expansion to the Mission District in with a location at 2937 24th street. This will be a good Cinderella story for all of San Francisco. Go to a place which has a good piroshki "supply" these piroshki buns get baked and some they do "fry" they have other baked goods and food you can "try" like their Grilled Salmon salad and the Cherry Vareniki the Russian Dumpling which has sour cream & sour cherries or the "Siberian Pie" So go on a stroll to "Cinderella" which is the place when it comes to piroshki and baked goods because they got "hella" tasty variations like the Blinchiki with Caviar with more than a bump and you also have one made with it "Nutella" and this bakery sings to me like a Broadway " A capella"
