this is my go to spot for a casual and somewhat reasonably priced brunch spot in the mission. their inside space is small but charming and their patio is super cute and offers plenty of seating. i love to sit outside surrounded by the greenery. their breakfast burrito hits the spot for me every time. i visited on a saturday and there was a line out the door. the wait to order took longer than expected but they brought the food out pretty fast. overall, the food and vibes are solid and the pretty outdoor space makes this a unique and cool spot. read more

Sitting in their garden for brunch on a sunny-ish day (SF rarely gets hot-hot) is so good, & thankfully, so is the food. My $20 order of Chilaquiles is the most expensive item on the menu; proof that a moderately-priced, filling meal can still be found in this economy. Enjoyed my plate of two eggs, properly-crisp bacon, & small pile of sauced-up tortilla chips. I 86'ed refried beans, as I'm not a fan, but for those who partake, I imagine it bulks up the meal considerably. Stumbled upon Stable Cafe on Instagram and could tell it was a vibe. We visited a week or so later and was immediately taken in back the rich, rustic ambiance. The lush, green plants, lovely outdoor patio, and wall art felt like a cozy afternoon in the City. Betty and Ren took excellent care of us and both were very personable. The banana bread was delicious but that kale cesar salad? OMG! Every single element sent the taste and sensory buds into overdrive. Taste, texture, temperature..all the things 10's across the board. I've been wanting to check out Stable Cafe for a while now but unfortunately chose a cold, windy Saturday to stop by with a couple of friends. We ordered coffee and breakfast food to try and I got a cappuccino along with the coconut chia pudding. Loved the strong cappuccino and the chia pudding was a great choice for a lighter breakfast. The housemade jam is great and gives the creamy coconut chia a nice tartness. There is a cute greenhouse patio seating area with a fireplace but unfortunately even with the fire and a more covered area, it was a bit cold to sit outside and we had to duck to another coffee shop after an hour. The patio is really such a nice place to enjoy good weather though and I'll have to be back to really take it in. read more

Such a cute spot! Came here at 11am on a Sunday, and there wasn't a short line that went by quick. The line definitely gets longer after that. Parking is a lil hard to find, so defs come early or do a rideshare. I was so happy the weather is nice when I went with my friend, so we were able to sit outside. Outside is very spacious with several seating, perfect for an event space as well! I ordered the Korean Chicken Sandwich, which was pretty good! The iced oat latte was decent as well. Huge outdoor seating area, great when it's warm! In addition, there is also greenhouse patio seating area with fireplace that is occasionally open. Saturday morning is pretty busy. Order at counter, seat yourself, and food will come when ready. The latte ($6) was very very hot, somewhat hard to carry to table since it was in a glass cup. The coffee had strong flavor. Smooth texture with enough foam. The breakfast sandwich ($14) was a great option: fluffy eggs, ham, and cheese on a toasted sesame. It was super cheesy, if you check out my photo. Came here few weeks ago with two friends. Parking was a little bit hard in the area on a weekday but luckily I was able to manage to find one. Love the vibe of this place. You have the outdoor patio for you to enjoy your yummy food & coffee. I had the matcha latte & Turkey Avocado sandwich. Matcha latte was delicious. The turkey sandwich also was pretty good. I was waiting for an appointment nearby and decided to grab the nearest coffee - saw this place. Inside is beautiful! Large big door. Plants. Upstairs lounge area, and a wonderful outside area. Lots of room for a coffee shop. I was tempted to get something off the food menu, looked amazing, but just got a cappuccino to go. Lots of options beverage and food wise (seriously need to try their food next time I go, some of their stuff looks very creative). . Cappuccino was delicious and gorgeous. Great interior and exterior. Plenty of seating. Good service. Great place to lounge about and have a morning sip or a cafe breakfast I'd say. I met some friends for coffee and a little bite for lunch. Located in the mission, stable café offers a variety of coffee, breakfast items, and sandwiches. I was blown away by how much outdoor space they have, we even got a spot near a fireplace outside. There is inside seating, a couple tables in a "terrace", and a bench on the main level. Everyone was very friendly and the food came out pretty promptly. I got a latte, I like the quality of coffee they used. It was very hot and delicious. I wish I got a pastry, but I guess that's for next time! I got the Korean chicken sandwich, which comes with spicy chicken, pickled raddish, cabbage slaw, and mayo. I appreciate the little side pickle slices as well. The chicken was perfectly seasoned perfectly cooked, I really enjoyed the sandwich. I wish I got two since I just went to the gym before lunch. Stable a little pricey, but that's just San Francisco. I really enjoyed my time here, because of the space a lot of people are able to join in and stay a little while. While visiting from out of town, I took a spontaneous drive down Folsom Street and spotted a café that immediately stood out--clean exterior, welcoming vibe, and something about it just felt right. I've been slowly curating my list of go-to cafés in San Francisco, and this one instantly earned a place on it. Parking was, honestly, a bit of a challenge. Parallel spots were limited, and I had to circle the block a few times. But once I made it inside, I was greeted by a short line and a calm, well-organized interior. While waiting, I noticed a side door open and stepped outside--only to find a charming patio filled with greenery. There were plants everywhere: hanging, potted, tucked into corners--giving the whole space a fresh, peaceful energy. It felt like a hidden urban garden. I ordered an iced matcha latte and a breakfast burrito. The matcha was whisked just right--smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. It's clear they know what they're doing. The burrito was well-sized, lightly seasoned, and came with a flavorful dipping sauce on the side. What impressed me most was how intentional everything felt: the clean restroom (yes, I always check), strong Wi-Fi, friendly staff, and pricing that's reasonable for the quality. The thoughtful design of the café, including its transformation from a historic horse stable, gives it a unique character. And that patio--with its mix of shade, sun, and all those plants--is the kind of space you want to linger in. Bonus: the outdoor seating is tucked away from the sidewalk, so it feels more private and peaceful. Efficient, consistent, and clearly run with care--this café checks all the boxes. I came here on a Sunday afternoon because Tartine was too crowded. We ended up ordering a fried egg sandwich with bacon and avocado and a rice bowl. We also ordered the bacon and cheddar biscuit to snack on before the food came because we were starving. For drinks, we got the iced latte with oat milk and iced coffee. Everything tasted really good! Even better than what I was expecting. Flavors were on point. I enjoyed sitting at the outdoor patio because it felt relaxing with the plants and fresh air. This review is for Stable as a wedding venue, their in-house catering, and their event coordinator Karen Ortiz. We held our wedding at Stable Cafe in August 2025 and so highly recommend this space. After seeing the location online and eating in the cafe, we knew this was where we wanted to hold our wedding. It felt so cozy, lush and green, like an oasis in the middle of the city. Karen was very responsive to our inquiries and answered all the questions we had throughout the process. Wedding planning can be overwhelming and my husband and I are not seasoned event planners, and Karen made the process easy and as low-key as possible. We had 45 guests and had a ceremony, dinner, and dancing, which was a perfect size for the space. We used their bar service and in-house catering for appetizers and dinner and OH. MY. GOSH. This was not just good wedding food. It was incredible food, period! Everything was fresh and made with so much care. They even made a plate specifically for a vegetarian guest, and made one up for me that accommodated all my dietary restrictions. I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to be able to eat the same thing as all the guests and enjoy such a beautiful dinner. The entire time we were eating, my husband and I kept looking at each other in disbelief and saying, Can you believe the food is THIS good?? The ambiance, food, and staff are all wonderful at Stable, and I feel so grateful we could celebrate such a joyful occasion there. read more

For ambiance alone, this is one of my favorite cafes in the mission. I went on a particularly rainy day, and the sheer amount of plants made me feel like I was in a rainforest and not in the heart of a city. I ordered a chai tea latte and it was the perfect compliment to the gloomy Sunday weather. Absolutely serene cafe with a good variety menu for brunch! We ordered the chicken banh mi and the egg burrito for a brunch date. We did find the food to be pricey at first but the portion sizing was pretty good and quite filing for two people. The chicken banh mi was the highlight - though don't expect an authentic banh mi but it was still delicious and very filing. As for drinks, the hot matcha latte was decent but the iced matcha was quite diluted and watery. The best part of this cafe is the ambiance and outdoor space with beautiful plants everywhere. I will definitely come back to get myself brunch and work remotely in their patio during the week! read more

Stable Cafe is an oasis in the The Mission District. It been several years since I visited this beautiful Cafe with a "secret garden" perfect for breakfast or lunch gatherings with friends or family. Located on Folsom Street in a former Stable I believe is where is derived its name. I was having my oil changed a few blocks away and strolled down 17th Street to "rediscover" this neighborhood gem. I just ordered a Earl Grey tea and a plan croissant and was greeted with a warm smile and prompt service. I made my way to the incredible garden oasis nestled adjacent as with 20 tables with amble shaded seating. It reminded me of the garden District in New Orleans, Paris or Georgetown. Quite. Peaceful. Calming. A place locals meet to start their crazy day in San Francisco with a tranquility. I will start making it a more frequent place to meet with out of town guest or fellow San Francisocian visitors. Highly recommend! read more

Alas, the portion sizes for food seem to run small for the price - ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon ($11 + 3 or so but with tax and tip ended up $20; the burrito itself was pretty standard/the most memorable thing was probably how neatly wrapped it was and the smoky salsa it came with) and had come in not hungry but left still not full! On the other hand my friend's London fog was so large that I thought it was two glasses stacked on top of each other - I'll probably keep this in the coffee catchup rotation but look elsewhere for a meal. read more

Lately I've been having the smoked salmon toast and it's so fresh and just YUM. Their OJ is top in the city and they know how to pull quality espresso drinks.. I describe this place as my favorite me-time spot. Amazing customer service. A beautiful cafe in a lush garden. Like many restaurants in SF, they have a menu that reflects produce at peak season/flavor. I appreciate a space that has a diverse staff and this place just always makes SF feel like home.
