TV's on both ends, lots of window seats and a fireplace in the corner. Though we had a sunny day with mild temperatures this would be the perfect San Francisco spot on a cloudy, rainy football Sunday. There were several people working on their laptops and it's clearly a fave neighborhood spot as several customers while we were there were greeted by name. The staff is warm and friendly. A new person was being trained and she did a great job. They have a large menu on the cutest menu boards and it was tough to decide what to order. My son had a burger with super delicious fries. He liked the burger but the bun kind of fell apart and for a teenage boy that killed the rating a bit. He didn't love the fries but my husband and I (and we don't usually agree on fries) LOVED them. My husband had a burrito bowl that he said he'd give an 8.5 out of 10. The flavor was delicious (it looked delicious!) but he said that the steak was a little chewy. I am not a meat eater do next time I'm here I want to try it because it looked so yummy. I saved my review for last because I would give my "Golden State" salad an 11/10 if I could. It is officially my favorite salad in San Francisco. I did cut the lettuce into smaller pieces when I got it because I love a chopped salad and honestly, that is the only thing that could have made it more perfect. The taste was absolutely DELICIOUS. I substituted the orange vinaigrette dressing for regular and it was seriously so delish. We didn't try any of the smoothies or crepes but we'll be back to give those a try. They sounded yummy. So only 3 stars because they gave me a glutenous crepe instead of a gluten free crepe and the only reason I knew it was wrong was because I've been here before and knew what the buckwheat (GF) crepes look like and this looked very different. I have a gluten allergy and I specifically requested and double checked that I'm ordering the gluten free crepe. We got our food to go and didn't realize until after we'd left the place...so once I opened it I had to go back and show them and they replaced it but very unsafe for an allergy and also just a lot of inconvenience... Aside from that, my boyfriend loves this place! The food is pretty good, it's chill vibes, people working in their computers and not too busy the few times we've visited. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was PACKED! This place is pretty popular so be prepared to wait on the weekend during peak hours. However, the workers are pretty fast here so don't let the line deter you. They serve breakfast all day and have both savory and sweet crepes. They even serve burgers, sandwiches, and tacos here. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a little loud inside with the blenders going for the drinks so I suggest sitting outside if you have sound sensitivities. I got the lox special bagel sandwich and the fruity ruby smoothie (banana, strawberry, blueberry, and orange juice) to go. Both the bagel sandwich and smoothie were delicious! It wasn't sweetened in any way - usually places will ask if you want it sweetened or tell you that it's not sweetened. This just came out as a surprise. And the rim of the glass was dirty. Woke up late on Saturday morning and got caught up in social media doom scrolling until afternoon at which time I found I was too lazy and hungry to try to figure out making breakfast out of whatever was in the house apart from the daily oatmeal I can cook on autopilot (if you can even call that cooking). La Mancha hit the spot with its layer of egg enveloping the flavorful mix of grilled chicken, green onion slices, mushrooms, and stretchy mozzarella cheese. The caramelized crunch of the home fries gave a great contrast to the soft center and went well with the omelette along with the ketchup and hot sauce. The toast with butter and jelly added some sweetness to the large savory meal which probably could have fed two smaller people but since this is going to count for breakfast and lunch, I gave myself a pass. The afternoon was not as packed as the mornings I've been there on the weekends which is understandable for a cafe. I came in yesterday for lunch. My friend recommended it and told me I had to get the home fries. I ordered the lamb al pastor burrito with a side of home fries. It came to just over $25 without tip. The burrito was smaller than I expected for the price and the lamb tasted more like carne asada. I'm not sure if they messed up my order. But it was good regardless, as were the home fries. Homely, basic, friendly and classic. You will find better, small batch, bespoke, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches elsewhere, but you won't get the personality. You won't get the sense of a neighborhood institution. The folks here are friendly, there is free Wi-Fi and a pretty extensive menu. Everything is fine. The day that my gf and I went to the Bean Bag Cafe we weren't planning to go. My partner's car had to get towed and we were waiting for the tow truck to come by. We also shared a stack of buttermilk pancakes with strawberries. Everything was delicious. My gf said her potatoes were a little burnt...but mine were fine. They were crispyyy. I think the reason why I gave this place 5 stars was because we were having such a rough day but when we came back and spoke with (what we assumed was) the owner of the restaurant, he made us feel 100% better.
