I love crepes so I wanted to try this place on our visit to San Francisco. They have a very good selection of food on their menu. We got the California crepe and the San Francisco crepe. Both were good. With the San Francisco crepe, I got the fresh salmon which was cooked well. Good portion size served with a small salad and a choice of potatoes or fries. We got the potatoes which were a bit on the bland side but we did enjoy the crepes. Service was fast. But we got there around 10am on a Saturday morning right before the crowds. A lot of people started coming about 15 minutes after we got there and a line started forming out the door by 11. They do have a good amount of seats. A prime location so close to Golden Gate Park region, Crepevine is a great place to eat dinner followed by a nice walk through the accompanying stores or among the park's botanical gardens. We stopped by for dinner on a weekend evening and it wasn't too busy, there was a good amount of inside seating and heaters outside for outdoor seating. After looking over the menu, customers go to the front to order their food, delivered to your table once it's ready. Service was super easy and efficient, all of the staff we extremely helpful and friendly. We ordered for the table to share the Granada (a salad with candied walnuts, pear, and onions on a bed of mixed greens and arugula. The vinaigrette was fruity but tangy and tasted great with the cheese, pear, and walnuts. We also ordered the lasagna, which came with garlic bread and a side Caesar salad. For visit on December 30, 2025 Our group of 8 had attended Lightscape 2025 at the San Francisco Botanical Garden at 6:45 PM. Some of the group had not had dinner and wanted to go to the Crepevine, which we go to for its savory and sweet crepes, afterwards. We were greeted upon entry and tables were reserved for us while we went to the cashier to order our items. My sister ordered the Santa Fe crepe. I only needed dessert and ordered the Sunset crepe with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella which my family had to have some of. I also wanted a hot chocolate which my husband ordered with soy milk for me. They let me have whipped cream. It had been cold out and we warmed ourselves up with our drinks. The rest of the party had hot apple cider. My daughter had the San Francisco crepe with smoked salmon. Other daughter had the Roma pasta. Husband had some breakfast crepe. They gave both indoor and outdoor seating, it is a fairly large restaurant. The servers were all kind and helped us with our orders before seating. I got the San Francisco crepe. This is the type of restaurant you order, paid first and then they bring out the food to you. Casual & friendly vibes. We got the buttermilk pancakes; the Americano Scramble with an added side of bacon; Chili bowl; Santorini Crepe; and earl grey tea. Originally I wanted to try their clam chowder because I heard it was good, but they don't make that everyday and on the day we visited, they offered chili instead, so got that. We came here for its proximity to the park, because it was dog-friendly and because my partner enjoyed the East Bay location. The plusses: You order inside, staff was friendly, and there's a good amount of outdoor seating that is dog friendly. The portions are large and the savory crepes come with both salad and homestyle potatoes or fries. They offer gluten free pasta and gluten free crepes. The not-so-good: our food was unusually bland. Both of our dishes had pesto in it, and while my Tuscany crepe had a hint of basil the creamy Abruzzo pasta (grilled chicken added) didn't even taste like anything. My partner had to heavily salt and pepper their pasta. If I came back I would try one of their egg dishes or the sweet crepes. Came at the right time to the Crepevine for Sunday brunch on this sunny day with dad. We placed two orders for yummy piping hot Pacific salmon sandwiches. We have choices: roasted potatoes or fries. We always order the salad with it instead because the sandwich is so satisfyingly scrumptious. Dinner is always light later. I have never been disappointed with the choices on the menu. Today, we came here for lunch. Both my mother and I had the salmon sandwiches with salad/potatoes and my husband had the New Orleans crab benedict. One of his poached eggs on the benedict was hard and over-cooked so that was a disappointment. My salmon smelled slightly fishy but it helped to add some lemon juice to it. Service was very good. The Granada salad has candied walnuts, blue cheese, peppers, pears, and pomegranate dressing. It came with 2 pieces of bread that felt really out of place. After having a kid I also find this place family friendly as it can get crowded during busy hours/holidays so kids are just a drop in the bucket with everyone else chatting away. It's been years...no...decades that I've been eating at Crepevine on Irving. Let's talk about the "Great California Huge Crepes with Potatoes & Salad Joints" explosion of the mid nineties: Ever since my pal Scott first took me on an eye popping brunch visit to Squat in the lower Haight (don't look for it, it's gone now) I've loved those wide plates spilling over with greens, taters and overstuffed crepes that have cheese melted into a brown burned yumminess from their griddle that I never could duplicate, even on the drip pan at the bottom of my toaster oven at home. There were by the early ought's about sixty thousand California Huge Crepe restaurants in San Francisco. No kidding! Maybe even more. Things have thinned out a lot since then. The modern desire for 'Less Food, More Bubble Tea' has taken its toll on the Crepe trade. However this also means the lines to order are shorter and there are seldom fist fights between customers trying to dibs tables. This is a good thing. Note: these California Huge Crepes I'm talking about are nothing like a Crêpe bretonne you'd find at Grande or Chaumiere. It's kind of like the difference between a Mexican burrito and a Tex-Mex one. A positive evolution of Crepevine is their willingness to cater to gluten free eaters not just with crepes but also by offering waffles and pancakes. A recent menu redesign looks like it has even more options. This plays well with my personal evolution requiring me to eat gluten free food. Speaking for the usual getting-glutened dialogue in reviews, try to use your common sense. If you are very sensitive I recommend going there when it's not super busy. If the kitchen's in the weeds, then it's quite possible you won't get something that's celiac-pure, if you catch my drift. My preference is to get breakfast for dinner on a weekday afternoon. About my breakfast: Hot damn that Tuscany crepe is good! I can't seem to get anything else anymore because I'm addicted to that one. Back in the 'olden days' they had rosemary bushes out front and the potatoes had lots of rosemary cooked into them. I kinda miss that. Nowadays I often just sub more salad for the not very interesting potatoes. The pancakes are extra fluffy, dark browned, and kind of remind me of the Pamela's mix I've made at home. I wish the double mocha was bigger for the price, like, served in a pint glass the way some other places do it, but the bottomless coffee certainly does the job on a sleepy day. read more

I've been visiting this spot for years, but recently I've been making more visits and I really enjoy it. I'm usually here for brunch and get the El Paso - a nice corned beef hash dish with rosemary potatoes, peppers and onions, all topped with eggs and melted cheddar. I typically get this with a bagel and this ends up being a truly hearty dish. I've also had the Lasagna, which is a nice, generous portion with beefiness and lots of cheese - it arrives with a side salad and garlic bread, so it can be a meal for two (or have some for leftovers) since it's so much food! The experience here is very casual and easygoing. The service is usually warm and friendly. Especially for San Francisco, the price point is very reasonable. From getting ROTD in 2013 fast-forward ten years later, what happened to a restaurant we loved since my 16 year-old son was a preschooler? This is the first time we've been to Crepevine in a few years and I'm sad to say: They lost their mojo. My son had the Horchata pancakes but unlike tempting photos, no thick chunks of a whole banana, just a few thin slices and a lot of coconut. No syrup was offered. After looking at other photos of the Horchata pancakes I see that they usually serve it with a very generous pool of caramel sauce on top (which would explain the lack of syrup) but not so with my son's plate: It had a tiny ribbon of caramel around the plate. Inconsistency is a killer in a restaurant like this with multiple locations. Customers expect a dish the same way at the same level time and again. I had the New Orleans Benedict, a stupid choice on my part: Eggs Benedict has never been their strong suit but I really craved Eggs Benedict. Soggy, cold muffin, slightly congealed hollandaise (I asked for one egg with regular, one with spicy 'New Orleans' style). The Benedict appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp, forgotten, with the yolks hardening. It arrived 6-8 minutes after my son's pancakes so we sat at the table, waiting, as I repeatedly tried to meet the servers' gaze. Iced tea arrived warm with no ice and no requested lemon. Iced water was the same though once I finally flagged a server down they brought ice and lemon speedily. The exterior and interior portrayed a cozy and welcoming ambiance. We ended up getting the pumpkin spice pancakes and the cinnamon maple matcha, which I believe is seasonal but was very delicious.
