Chicken Salad, Sprouts, Tomato & Red Onion

i ordered takeout from here and got the chicken salad bagel. they did get my order wrong and the menu says it came with sprouts but it didn't. however, i really like the concept of this bagel and it tasted pretty good. the price point was also very fair. i would definitely try something else here!

This is the spicy "chorizo " burrito.

I ordered a chorizo burrito which was rice & jalapeños only. The almost croissant was stale & the paroski was dry. Very disappointed.

People of the Lower Haight, how lucky you are to have The Grind. The place is huge, there's even seating outside, hugging the building, no parklet needed. I know The Grind has been on Haight forever, interior harkens back to the 70s, meaning a funky vibe. Cash machine safely inside. Six large menu boards high on the wall. Coffees, smoothies, bagels, salads, omelets, house favs, pancakes, French toast, avocado toast, Belgian waffles, burgers, sandwiches, chili, pastries. For those staring at their laptops, even if you're milking a coffee, you're not contributing to their operating expenses, but there's plenty of seating. I've taken many salads to go, always generous & delicious. 9:30 on Thursday: Friendliest counter woman ever. She made sure I was comfortable with the ingredients, chatted a bit, clearly loved by the many regulars. About the Avocado Toast. Generous avocado mash, could have been given another day to ripen. Giant bread slice, toasted, can cut in 2, with everything seasoning, & pinch of chili flakes. (More please) Perfectly fried egg to order. Side of 4 strips thick & chewy bacon. Mighty Leaf tea. No regrets. Support Local!

My new fave Cafe ! The food here has been amazing the past 2 times I've been here. I would say the food is a 4/5. The service is amazing I would give that a 5/5 easy. All the food is fresh and made upon order. The atmosphere is peaceful but can be busy depending on when you come. Next time I will get grilled chicken instead of crispy chicken. I also had the Lox scramble which was good especially if you like soft cooked salmon. Please try, don't know how this place only has 3.5 star rating.

Probably my favorite brunch space in all of sf! With the food tasting incredible and such a large menu, it always will be my go-to brunch space to take friends and family.

Chicken Fried Steak with hash brown and eggs

Only tried this place via delivery so far. I think most of us like a chicken fried steak once in a while. By the way, if by the chance you don't know this. Chicken Fried Steak doesn't have any chicken, it's thin cut of beef steak marinated in buttermilk, breaded and fried. It's called that because it's prepared like southern fried chicken. This is essentially a Southern dish with either a white or dark gravy on top. I thought they serve pretty good CFS dish here, so this is a good find.

    Cheese Omelette

I ordered delivery so I can't speak on the ambiance. I ordered cheese omelette because Uber eats didn't have the options I wanted to pick. The chicken sausage is really good. Home fries was good too. Omelette was basic but good. My only issue is that this was a delivery order to a hotel and they didn't give me any utensils and no condiments so my bread was dry with no butter or jelly. That should be included.

    Scott street omlet

Loved my "scott street" omlet. It was so big i couldnt finish it. Loaded with bacon, avocado, onion, and cheese. Came with a good portion of hash browns that were fire, and sourdough toast. I live their coffee too. It delicious and way less expensive than peets or starbucks.

Whats kind of sad is I walked into this place thinking i was going to the juice place next door. Wamp wamp. Thats what happens when you are hung over! I ended up having a banana/orange juice/ice blend which was basic but cold and delicious. Ha. Then I had a veggie melt and while it did the job i can't say i ever order it again. Lots of onions, crazy melted cheese. The fries that came with it were of course not good. But, there is no way that after this item you would still be hungry. The space was nice for breakfast: both indoor and outdoor space. Patio wasn't cute by any means but hey you could breath fresh air. Also the cashier was nice. I would go there hungover again but i'd prefer acai bowls and the juice shop that supposedly exists.

Haight Scram with hashbrowns and sourdough toast.
    Michelle V.

Decided to check this place out for breakfast while staying in SF for a couple of days because it was within walking distance of my hotel. I ended up coming here both mornings for breakfast because it was so convenient and the food was good. I ordered the Haight Scram both times because I'm a creature of habit, lol. Both times it was excellent. The toast was perfectly toasted and the hashbrowns (my favorite!) were excellent. Plus, everyone who works here is suuuper friendly. I'm glad I know where I can come back for breakfast (or lunch!) next time I'm in town.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I'm so glad that we took a chance on it while in the area. Delicious Haight Scram was delicious and my husband's breakfast was great too. Definitely give them a try. They deserve a higher rating than this. And no, I don't know them. We are in town from Texas.

It is tucked away and a bit inconspicuous, so be sure to keep an eye out if you decide to come over here. Since it is near the park, parking is difficult, and taking Muni would be best. The store itself is small, with two tightly packed tables for seating, and the order counter is surrounded by delicious-looking pastries, giving it a homey vibe. I went in the afternoon on a weekend, and there was no line at the time. I really needed a caffeine boost, saw this place on Yelp, and decided to try it out. I try my best to order coffees/drinks that are unique to the place so I can try their signatures and form my best judgment. I decided to order the Thai Caffe Banana Latte and saw that it was labeled as blended with bananas. When I went up to the counter, I asked about the consistency of the latte to ensure it was not a creamy blended drink (like a smoothie) but still liquid, like a typical latte. I am unsure if my question was confusing, but it seemed to bother the person serving me that I was asking questions, and they seemed to be getting impatient with me. When they rang me up, I paid, but I forgot to ask for almond milk since I felt rushed while ordering (even though no one else was in the store at the time). I asked if I could still add it in and pay the upcharge or separate fee. They ended up telling me to just tip them the extra $1 in cash or add it to the Square payment as a tip (I gave $2 in cash because I felt bad for inconveniencing them). When I got the drink, the coffee was strong, bold, and not as sweet as I thought it was going to be (which was fine!). Since the original coffee without banana says it has condensed milk, I thought it was going to have more of that sweet note with the banana, but I could be incorrect in assuming it would be sweeter. That said, the banana itself was mashed into the drink, and unfortunately, I did not taste it very much, though I did sip up some banana pieces. Based on the drinks and the service, perhaps this place just is not for me, but I would not tell you to avoid it either. I would recommend trying it yourself to formulate your own thoughts, since maybe my experience was a one-off and the drink I got was not the one that best represents this cafe!

On the May Fourth be with you today Star Wars movie has Cinderella undertones. Growing up the Piroshki was all around the corner liquor stores in San Francisco especially in the Mission District ( a whole different Cinderella story). The piroshki would be a fast microwaved treat to have during lunch and after school. Over the years I have been very selective when picking up a piroshki from a corner store because they can be very doughy. There is one bakery in San Francisco which has been making a variety of piroshkis for over 70 years. This Russian bakery has both the savory and the sweet . It's located on Balboa street and it's called Cinderella. On a Spring stroll I landed at Cinderella. Inside you can see and smell the delicious bake goods which can be sweet and some salty like some in SF. On the sweet side I enjoy their honey cake but no donuts . On the savory side it's the piroshkis. My favorite is the beef and cheddar piroshki. It wasn't too cheesy like some in SF but the beef was tender and it almost tastes like a smashed burger ( not to be confused with smash burger) all in a soft bun. The are other interesting items on the menu like Pelmeni which are Russian dumplings and Siberian Pie. You can wash it all down with a Matcha Latte ( for Don Juan de la Matcha) or the Kompot drink. There is a planned expansion to the Mission District in with a location at 2937 24th street. This will be a good Cinderella story for all of San Francisco. Go to a place which has a good piroshki "supply" these piroshki buns get baked and some they do "fry" they have other baked goods and food you can "try" like their Grilled Salmon salad and the Cherry Vareniki the Russian Dumpling which has sour cream & sour cherries or the "Siberian Pie" So go on a stroll to "Cinderella" which is the place when it comes to piroshki and baked goods because they got "hella" tasty variations like the Blinchiki with Caviar with more than a bump and you also have one made with it "Nutella" and this bakery sings to me like a Broadway " A capella"
