We stopped by to grab coffee before heading to Dolores Park and opted for the Mardi Gras and Cold Fashioned cold brews. Loved both drinks! The Cold Fashioned has a great orange flavor which complements the cold brew really well and the Mardi Gras is definitely what I would get again. I love chicory in iced coffee and that plus oat milk was just what I needed on a hot summer day!
Spro just might be my fav cafe in SF (for the drink/food offerings, a little bit less so on the aesthetics/vibe). They have a very large menu of yummy latte concoctions, baked goods, and food. So far everything I've tried has been delicious. The umami bomb (ikura/truffle avo toast) is my go-to and I'm trying to get through all of the drink offerings. There are so many unique flavor combos, yet I still haven't come across one I haven't liked. There is seating inside & outside and they are dog friendly! The owner is often there, and all of the staff are so friendly and kind.
So I don't shout things like "GET OFF MY LAWN!" to kids riding by on bikes, but I am the last one to ask about the latest slang. For instance, I had no idea SPRO was short for espresso. I just thought SPRO was some acronym I never heard of. Except for the random senior, the customer base definitely skews younger here, so they probably say SPRO naturally when they order. Luckily, I just had to say 'Cold Brew' when I ordered my iced coffee. For $7.50, I got a large bracing one (Photo 10). However, what I was really hankering for was an egg salad sammie, so I ordered the $16 Veggie Tales, a huge, mostly vegetarian extravaganza with avocado, sharp cheddar, egg salad, tomatoes, onions, greens, a smoked guava rum dressing encased in a thick, toasted ciabatta roll (Photo 9). I sat myself at the counter and wolfed it with brio. The young staff was cordial, which this curmudgeon found refreshing. COFFEE / FOOD - 4 stars...a very full sandwich and a smooth brew AMBIANCE - 4 stars...definitely has its regulars but there was enough room for me SERVICE - 4 stars...young and friendly - not incompatible traits TOTAL - 4 stars...so when I'm in a hip bar, should I ask for a SPRO martini? This was such a good find. We stopped here on a Saturday morning on our way to the airport. I had an Orange Blossom 16oz hot latte and it was the best. My husband had their pastrami sandwich and he couldn't stop talking about it. Whenever, we're back in town we will be back.
4.5 stars! SPRO is a place I keep coming back to for great breakfast items and unique coffee flavors. I tend to come here for a quick reading/sketching session, and there's always good vibes, great service, and available seating! No one else does it like SPRO. :) I've tried: + Umami Bomb [6/5] (would recommend!) + Sausage and Eggs [4/5] + Salmon Miso [4/5] + Black Swan [5/5] + Hong Kong Milk Tea [3/5] For the food: The Umami Bomb is simply a favorite of mine. I usually get this for the perfect blend of protein, salt, and umami truffle. I've also tried the Sausage and Eggs which was really good! The sausages are huge and pretty tasty, albeit a little dry. The Salmon Miso salad is a HUGE portion size but is really mostly just mixed greens. For drinks: The Black Swan is great! It just tastes like a normal latte but even more earthy and the color is so cool. The Hong Kong Milk Tea is a sweeter and less creamy version of what a HK milk tea should taste like, so I didn't like it as much. My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey for what you get. I would definitely come here more often if the prices were more reasonable, but I usually end up paying around $20 for an entree and $10 for a coffee which feels quite heinous.
This café is very straightforward, low on the aesthetics, but high on the quality. The iced mocha was honestly nothing special, but that's what I appreciated about it. I feel that so often, you order one thing and get a spin on another... so that's why I really appreciated the simplicity of the drink. The smoothie on the other hand... was absolutely phenomenal. Given the low price point, and that smoothies are all the rage now, this superfruit smoothie from SPRO was so yummy, filling, and healthy. Expect a line out the door on the weekends, and expect it to take a while since the barista's are also the cashiers, but enjoy the proximity to the park and high-quality ingredients!
lovely place to spend an afternoon working at! free wifi, plenty of seating, great location near a bunch of bus stops and muni lines. i got the iced pumpkin spice latte with oat milk. wanted to try one of their seasonal drinks for autumn. was very tasty and i did actually taste pumpkin! espresso flavor was bold and definitely flavor forward on the coffee. also not too sweet, happy about that! highly recommend this place.

Matcha came out quickly but coffee took a few more minutes. They were packed on a Saturday afternoon. Ambience: 3/5 - a lot of chairs but decently packed. We managed to snag two counter chairs but even outdoors it was packed. Some of the outdoor tables were empty but there weren't chairs. Not a small space but not large. Probably not a place you can easily come work a long time since there counter tops didn't seem to have people there for a long time. More of a place to come and chit chat. Ordered their matcha drink for$7.24 including tax.
If you love fancy coffee drinks, this is the place for you. There are so many options for tea, espresso, and matcha. Sometimes if I just want a treat but no caffeine, I'll get a fancy decaf drink. Everyone behind the counter is also lovely and friendly. The food is also great for breakfast or lunch. Definitely worth checking out if you're by Dolores park.

And I am sooo glad I came! -Came around noon on Tuesday; plenty of seating available -Wifi + outlets available along the walls -Quiet enough to work with or without headphones in (depends on the day because I saw the place was packed on the weekend) + prime people watching opportunity out the window -Great coffee! (Got the orange blossom; rich in taste with a hint of citrus to live up to its name) -Kind staff -A nice bathroom(??? A pleasant surprise) Definitely recommend!! I'll definitely be coming back to try their other unique flavored drinks.
Espresso tastes great - a bit more on a acidic side, which I like. Not that I have trained palette. So don't hold me to that. But my partner also enjoys the cappuccinos that she gets. Very open room, lots of light (which makes sense since the entire wall is windows), and a great place to sit and read, do some work, or just people watch on Church street. Also has outdoor tables for a nicer day. Music is a nice relaxing vibe. And don't want to understate the bathroom vibe. It's great - even got a bidet. The food is pricey, but there are a lot of good looking food options, so if you're looking for a good coffee with food options, I'm a fan.
The team is also kind and ready to share or explain the menu. The coffee is delicious! Let me say this... this is probably the ONLY coffee of its kind that's open on holidays. THANK Y'ALL!
Truly you must take in this picture - this is how a small a $16 egg salad breakfast sandwich is. Hahahaha!!! So insulting. It's wrapped in a white paper. The service is just ok.
Terrific selection to satisfy any taste. Check out the two menu boards and additional drink choices on the back wall. Friendly service. They have a few indoor tables and one outside. Since we already had breakfast, we opted for a coffee chaser. read more

Neighborhood coffee spot - I have tried most options on the menu. My all time favorite is Geisha (matcha, honey, milk) - always scratches the matcha itch convincingly. Food options are plentiful. Takes a hot second for the orders to come out, but usually worth the wait. Decent seating inside, and outside. Wifi is p good, and they have power outlets throughout the space. Baristas are chill folks. 10/10 would go again (proximity is real). read more

Drinks were unique, the orange blossom was delicious but the matcha latte could be stronger. Not a ton of pastry options but the salmon bagel was delicious and filling, vegan chocolate banana bread was a little dry. Wifi, outlets, decent seating make for a great place to work for a few hours! Great and fast service too! read more

Wanted to like this place but the coffee was not the best unfortunately. I ordered the Kyoto Kiss which was mostly bitter. However, I do appreciate that they made me a new drink (Indian Summer) which was alright. It did take a while to make the drinks so keep that in mind. However, it seemed like a nice study spot and good atmosphere. They were pretty packed for a Sunday afternoon. The food also looked great! read more

This coffee shop has a very lovely vibe and plenty of indoor seating. I have gotten a few lattes here over the years and they all have been great. Definitely check it out if you are in the neighborhood. read more
I've been to this and other SPRO locations quite a few times and always enjoy the creations. I must admit, I've never had "just a coffee" at SPRO, nor would I recommend you do so. They have such fun and tasty coffee creations, I stay on that side of the menu. They don't have the same drinks at all if their locations, so at this one, be sure to grab a Pixie Dust. The Yuzu and numbing peppercorn is really a tasty combo with a latte. Service is always good and friendly. This visit, the woman taking my order was super nice as were the baristas. The environment is pretty standard coffee shop, tables inside and out with a counter by the window great for people watching. Will be back again and again. read more

I visited this location late Sunday morning with a friend. For a weekend, it was surprisingly full of people working inside, and the chatters were sitting outside. Fortunately, we were able to find a table indoors. They do have a rotating seasonal menu. I got the tea thyme (black currant, thyme, coffee, oat milk) and my friend got the island hop (ube, coconut, coffee, tres leches). The price of the drinks are a bit steep, but understandable considering the ingredient components, and this is SF after all. Both our drinks matched the description, so no surprises there. The tea thyme had a very subtle black currant flavor that provided more of a jammy aftertaste while the latte was just very sweet upfront. I typically drink black coffee, so it tasted pretty much like a dessert to me - tasty but undeniably sweet. This is a nice place to work though with the bright lighting, white minimalistic aesthetic, a water dispenser, wifi, decent amount of tables/eats, and a clean bathroom that has a bidet! read more
Love the island hop latte! I ordered online and picked it up. The latte was definitely one of my favorite ever but I was a little disappointed in the muffin. The blueberry made the muffin soggy and not as flavorful. Overall would come back for the coffee and the staff here are really sweet, so it made the experience even better! read more
SPRO used to be my favorite coffee in the city, going back to when my barista coworker brought me to their coffee truck location years ago. But alas, recent visits have changed my mind. Neither my friend nor I liked the shakshuka here. It was served cold and tasted like straight tomato paste. The matcha latte and my friend's coffee were alright. Sad that I don't enjoy their drinks like I did in the past; I'll be moving on from SPRO for now. read more

The cookie and coffee was good. A little too expensive for me but good. I don't think two item should cost 15.11. The service was ok. They had a lot of orders but was very friendly, nice and attentive. To me were was no ambiance. read more
A friend and I stopped by SPRO on our way to Mission Dolores Park; we'd just picked up pastries and were in the mood for a fancy coffee to pair with them. While there are many coffee shops in the area, SPRO's menu of unique tea and espresso beverages stood out. The unique beverage names require you to read the full ingredient list, and I'll admit that I had to use my imagination to figure out which flavor combinations I would enjoy. I eventually decided upon the Spice Islands, which I was expecting to taste like a Mexican mocha. The first sip of Spice Islands was much sweeter than I expected, and while the combination of spices was well-balanced, there was a notable lack of "heat" that I was expecting. That being said, I still enjoyed my decadent drink and am intrigued by their menu to try their other beverages and food items. read more
I was recommended this spot while looking for different coffee spots to try in the city. It was so hard to choose a drink because their menu is full of so many unique options! I ended up going with an island hop ($6.5/12 oz) with oatmilk (+$1). The combination of the ube, coconut, and espresso gave the drink a very satisfyingly nutty flavor. I was afraid that the drink would be too sweet because of all the flavoring but it was actually not too bad! It wouldn't be great for someone who does not like sweet drinks, but overall the sweetness balanced out very well with the espresso. If you are in need for extra caffeine, their 16 oz drinks come with 4 shots! read more

I got the island hop iced. I personally like how they have a wide variety of menu. I decided to try this one since it had tres leches. They also had a pastries and food. There are seats available inside and outside. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The service was great. read more
Rlly paid $8 for a cup of frothed oat milk. Negative matcha taste, just oat and milk. This geisha matcha drink was too sad to drink out of so I asked if I could get more matcha, but they said they only do so at an extra charge. Figured I'd be paying another $20 until I got the amount of matcha I usually get...pls refer to literally any other cafe that know what a matcha is :( Totally recommend to just take out the matcha altogether from the menu, or rename it something else!:)like oat milk!:) read more

Eggscellent cafe serving creative espresso and tea drinks and hot breakfast and pastries. We ordered the mashup (sous vide eggs on potato mash on toast), pixie dust, spiced islands, and sirloin doggy bowl. The eggs are the best I've had: medium done-ness and paired well with the mash. I personally prefer rye toast instead of white but still delicious. The pixie dust was subtle and sweet. My only wish is for the hot coffee to come a little hotter. But next time I will just get my drink iced. The dogs loooooved their sirloin with brown rice, peas, and carrots. Such a big portion, looks like a good meal for a dog 25-30 lbs. I needed a doggy bag for the dog. Also only 1 block away from Dolores Park. Perfect spot to bring your pup. read more
