I picked up some treats to enjoy at home. The spam kimchi musibi was tasty, and I wish there was just a little bit more kimchi. The bites were sweet, salty and savory. The salmon musibi's egg popped yolky goodness. Every bite was delicious. My 'complaint' was that some of my nori was stuck onto the paper wrap. Nice counter staff, and clean interior. It's a great place to pick up snacks for a beach picnic.

Super cute local spot with beautifully presented food! The menu is super interesting (asian fusion vibes) and I didn't expect the dishes to be presented so aesthetically! I loved the colors in the dishes and it was also very affordable. The curry bowl was very flavorful and the veggies were a great addition. It was a little hard to eat since the soak musubi didn't cut easily, but that's my only complaint. It was so comforting on a cold day. The breakfast banh mi was a super interesting and creative combo, but I felt the pickled veggies were a little too strong. Otherwise, it would've been perfect! They ran out of spam so it was half spam half tofu. The tofu was actually very good. The service was super friendly and warm. I loved the vibes inside and outside -- it's so beachy and relaxed. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu!

First review of 2026 - YEE! Avenues is an Outer Sunset gem blending a laid-back café with an SF beach vibe. Surfboards and art surround a cozy counter and pet-friendly outdoor seating that's perfect to sip your strawberry matcha on a sunny (or frequently foggy) day. Service is friendly and efficient, ideal for grab-and-go or a casual brunch. Verve Coffee is solid and the made-in-house food shines. We especially love the musubi, avocado toast, and creative breakfast items, with good vegan & gluten free options. They're typically open 8am-3pm daily. Street parking is hit or miss within a block or two, tougher on weekends. Order ahead online at avsf.co to skip the line. Ocean Beach is only 2 walkable blocks away. Makes for a great stop before or after the beach. IYKYK: they participate in TGTG and I was finally lucky enough to score a couple bags today! 2 surprise bags for $4.99 each with a value of $15 per bag. My haul was actually worth $42 and everything was exceptional, including most of my favorites! Korean glass potato noodles, Lemon Chia cake slice, Lavarat Cookie, 3 PCs Musubi of my choice from the case. Highly Recommend: Lavarat Cookie $4.25 Ecuadorian chocolate, sea salt, oats, almonds, walnuts, pretzels, coffee Lemon Chia Slice $4.00 Lemon chia bread made from fresh lemon zest baked every morning and topped with a sweet sugar glaze. Korean Glass Noodles $12 * Vegan, Gluten Free Korean glass potato noodles in a sesame tamari dressing mixed with shiitakes, roasted bell peppers, spinach, roasted carrots, sweet potato with a side of house gochujang sauce. Salmon Toast $11.50 Kippered smoked salmon, cucumber, cherry tomato, avocado topped with fresh lemon juice, maldon salt, pickled onions, cilantro, togarashi on toasted sourdough. Chili garlic recommended. Salmon Musubi $9.25 Kippered smoked salmon, tamari glaze, avocado, egg, pickled cabbage and rice wrapped in nori. Ginger Shoyu Chicken Musubi $6.25 * Gluten Free Roasted chicken tossed with ginger garlic shoyu, charred baby broccoli, seasoned rice wrapped in nori. Add on Pro-trip: Japanese Curry Bowl add curry, roasted carrots/sweet potato, fukujinzuke to your musubi for $4.00 + $0.75 to add house chili garlic

I stopped by for a quick coffee while waiting for my name to be called at a restaurant next door. Location is great, right by the beach and other restaurants! More for a grab and go, there's a small seating area inside, and some tables outside. I was surprised by the menu - several options, food, coffee, tea. I went for the Horchata Cold Brew, and it was okay! It tasted like a watered down horchata in my opinion, but it wasn't bad! My dad ordered an Americano with creamer and he said it was absolutely terrible! I felt bad and gave him the rest of my drink, haha. Unfortunately to him, it tasted watered down as if it was the last bit of coffee left that they just needed to get rid of. Wasn't strong at all and didn't taste fresh. Maybe I'll come to try the other items on the menu!

Ever since the L-Taraval MUNI train came back to service last year, I have been taking advantage of the route to take my walk at Sunset Dunes. When I've gotten off at 46th Avenue, I've come here on occasion to fuel up before facing the windswept oceanfront. They offer quite a beverage selection in a chill setting with an expansive parklet in front. Gratefully it's not a place that attracts semi-permanent laptoppers because they have just bench seating inside. It's really a spot more ideal for grab and go. During warm weather, I've had their refreshing $6 Matcha Lemonade (Photo 10). When it got colder, I went for the piping hot $4.75 Au Lait (Photo 3). Satisfying libations no matter the climate. I have yet to try their food menu which appears to grow every time I visit. They now offer eight musubi, four grab-&-go choices, and a number of made-to-order toasts and sandwiches. I need to sit a spell and give 'em a try. BEVERAGES - 4 stars...satisfying drinks in all kinds of weather AMBIANCE - 4 stars...chill with a surfer mindset SERVICE - 4 stars...very casual TOTAL - 4 stars...always worth a stop RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? I've had this place saved for awhile and finally got to try it out. To my surprise, my coffee order was okay. This was very much a "you get what you pay for" situation in my opinion, but would love to come back as I find this place to have a lot of potential - especially their food! *What I ordered: -Iced Vanilla Latte - 6/10 rating -Chia Seed Pudding from the grab and go section - 8/10 rating FOOD/COFFEE: 6.5/10 rating I think I paid $6.50 for my Iced Vanilla Latte, which is not bad. I requested oat-milk and saw they use Califia Barista Oatmilk which is my favorite and good quality. The size of my coffee was great for what I paid for. I was bummed how watered down my drink tasted, even with drinking it right away. I appreciated that the latte was not too sweet, tasted creamy, but barely tasted any coffee. The chia seed pudding was yummy. The fruits they used were so sweet and fresh. I loved the granola they added. It was very crunchy, toasty, and not too sweet. SERVICE: 9/10 Straight forward, quick service! Sometimes, that's all you need. AMBIANCE: 9/10 A very clean, modern, comfy small-ish spot. There's minimal indoor seating with ample outdoor seating up front. Their menu option had a perfect option of food and drinks to where there was not too little or too much to pick from. I loved their little Musubi station. They had cool artwork around the store. I believe there were some items to shop for and buy? Although I was not thrilled about my latte, I'm willing to come back one more time to try another drink with a musubi this time!

Avenues San Francisco is such a cute little café tucked right by the beach. We popped in right before closing to grab matcha lattes, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We ordered a spam musubi, and the owner surprised us by giving us two for the price of one, which was such a sweet gesture and honestly made it even better. The café has a cozy indoor vibe and also offers outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying the ocean breeze. They even have the most adorable Australian Shepherd just hanging out and greeting everyone, which adds so much charm to the place. After grabbing our drinks and musubi, we took everything down to the beach and it was the perfect way to end the day: warm drinks, good food, and ocean views.

Ordered the horchata cold brew and it was okay. I was not able to taste the horchata and the drink itself tasted on the lighter side. Tried a cookie too and it was not bad, on the larger side for the price. They also have masubi too!

KS Musubi- Kimchi, Over Easy Egg and Spam($6.50)

Dropped by on a Saturday morning around 9am and there was a short line out the door already. It did end up going by quickly. It is a small cafe area without any indoor seating except the bench area for waiting for your order. There is public seating outside where you can sit down to eat and enjoy the weather(on a good day that is). Next to the counter was a warmed countertop with the premade musubis. Grabbed a few things to give them a try: 1) KS Musubi - Kimchi, Over Easy Egg and Spam(6.5/10) - A decent musubi with a good ratio of filling to rice. Nothing wowed me about it; but the over easy egg was cooked well and it comes with the baek-kimchi(white kimchi), which isn't spicy....more of a mild tasting kimchi. 2) Breakfast Club - (6.7/10) - A very good sandwich. Toasted really well and super crunchy. The filling to bread ratio was good. It had the thicker cut of bacon along with a fried egg, arugula, pickled onions and avocado. The flavors of the fillings, aioli, lemon juice and olive oil all work together and complement each other. A light and satisfying sandwich altogether. A critique would be that the egg was kind of small and only appeared half way into eating my sandwich; kind of wish it was more evenly distributed through the sandwich. 3) Matcha Lemonade(5.2/10) - This was just okay...kind of mid. The matcha was very light/watered down along with the lemonade. A light lemonade flavor, not that apparent. Would skip this and maybe give their coffees a try next time. Overall, a super chill and local cafe. Would drop by if in the area or after a hangout by the beach. The area is super nice on a sunny day.

We made plans in the area and decided to check out this shop for breakfast. They have a nice neighborhood shop vibe, I think they're a solid spot to walk to if you live nearby. The musubis looked good on yelp, so I was set on ordering one. The musubis are pre-made and can be chosen at the counter by the register. I decided to get the over easy egg & spam musubi and another one with kimchi in it. The musubis were solid and made for a grab and go. I didn't get to try their coffee since Andytown was right along the neighborhood and that's one of my favorite coffee shops in town. Overall, they're a nice local shop for the neighborhood, but I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way to come here.

My friend and I saw a crowd in front of this cafe, so figured we give it a try - seems like a popular place. I loved the minimalist aesthetics when we walked inside. We weren't hungry, otherwise, we would have ordered a few musubi. We had the horchata cold brew and strawberry matcha. Slightly disappointed w/ the horchata cold brew (doesn't taste like a horchata, maybe they needed to add more cinnamon, condense milk or sugar?). But the strawberry matcha was refreshing - highly recommend. And it did come w/ fresh strawberries, so 10/10 for us. Service was quick. I wish they had more indoor seating though. Thankfully the sun was out, so we can sit outside. But on rainy and windy days, oof - it'll have to be a quick grab & go.

Wow one of the best breakfasts' I've had in a long time. It isn't as oily or make me feel as bad after I eat like a typically breakfast burrito. Includes fresh ingredients that you find in a standard banh mi but with a creative twist with spam and eggs (for that classic breakfast feel)

Avenues is my favorite stop after a nice walk along the beach. Definitely try their food items like musubi and breakfast sandwiches, and don't forget to grab some delicious gochujang sauce! Their matcha on the other hand, is a skip. It is extremely watered down and light on the matcha. I've never tried their coffee, so maybe that can be a better drink option.
