They got my order completely wrong and I had to bring it up once it was all made which was very awkward. How lovely, light, and airy this place looks in what used to be the dark tones of a Starbucks location for many, many years. I've been wanting to try Saint Frank Coffee for the longest time, but hadn't around to it at the other locations. Inner Sunset is close to home. A few weeks back, I walked by it on a late Saturday morning, and the line was out the door and it looked very crowded. I was not surprised, however, given the high praises of Saint Frank Coffee and this being their newest location. This past Monday, I came in on a whim at the end of the day sometime after 5pm (they close at 6pm daily). I was getting my steps in by strolling through Golden Gate Park and took the route that leads you to 9th Ave. There were plenty of people in there, but not crowded and not busy. I had no idea what I was ordering and I didn't know what to expect. The barista was super friendly, patient, and helpful. Here's what I ended up ordering: - honey lavender latte with oat milk (holy goodness!) - iced matcha latte for my daughter (the taste was more milky and creamy than matcha-y) - mushroom danish (I never wanted it to end, it was so yummy. I passed by this place while riding the N Muni, and I immediately bookmarked it! I'm so glad I did. Saint Frank is a gorgeous, aesthetically-pleasing coffee shop located in the Inner Sunset. My friends and I grabbed pastries nearby and coffee at Saint Frank before heading to the De Young museum for the Monet exhibit. It was a perfect day! The coffee at Saint Frank is delicious. You can tell this is a coffee shop made for coffee lovers. There were lots of people hanging out at the indoor and outdoor tables, including several people working from the coffee shop. The coffee is really good; the interior design is modern; the lighting is brighter; staff is friendly. Really good spot to hang out. The lines can get long but move fairly quickly. Prices are consistent with other coffee shops. We tried both the Latte and the Mocha. Both drinks have excellent coffee. The mocha is not very sweet and they use mocha syrup instead of that power stuff. They also offer a few pour over options which I haven't yet tried. read more

Thank GOD there's a Saint Frank on the park side of town now! Saint Frank is one of the first coffee shops I ever tried in San Francisco and it certainly helped set the bar extremely high. So coffee - no question on the quality here. And Juniper pastries? YAY The space is absolutely gorgeous - on a sunny day it's especially airy and bright. I haven't come on a weekend yet, but on weekdays the vibe definitely feels more like a coworking space (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on what you're looking for), due to the presence of the long communal table in the front. It seems San Francisco also has business which have more than two locations that are homegrown. One place in the Inner Sunset serves their own roast of coffee and also offers the 2024 best awarded croissant in San Francisco via Juniper. It's located across the street of another similar homegrown chain of restaurants known as Super Duper Burgers. This place is also a namesake of San Francisco but in English and it's called Saint Frank. On a 2026 stroll on the Sunset Strip of San Francisco on Irving street you where the former Starbucks stood you can smell a different coffee roasting. Inside Saint Franks it's very spacious with lots of seating. I ordered their mocha and it was not too sweet. I also had ordered the traditional croissant. The croissants have been awarded the best in San Francisco and to me it was flakey like most in SF. The croissant was buttery and tasty. This is a good new spot in the Sunset Strip of San Francisco. Don't skip the pastries! Saint Frank Coffee is a great option to get Juniper croisssant if you're unable to go to Juniper's. I can't comment about the coffee though as I'm a casual coffee drinker. Give me any cuppa as long as it's gotta lotta milk, I'm good. Just to set expectations, the wait time when I went on a busy Sunday morning was 25 minutes. What's nice is when you reach the front, you place your order and they prepare it right after. So that means no wait after placing an order, okay maybe just 3 minutes, 5 mins tops. I can't get over the ambiance and experience at Saint Frank on Irving. It's so light and airy and the decor very natural. Feels out of somewhere in Scandinavia. I love the vibe and aesthetic of this new cafe space! My friend and I came on a Saturday afternoon and waited in line for 15 minutes before being able to order our drinks. My friend was able to get an extra drink because he purchased one of their coffee bean bags. Latte: A more bitter taste than I expected, the latte still had a clean favor with a nice foam decoration on top. It was simple but good! Chai Latte: It was warm, spicy, and sweet! The spices were flavorful without being too overwhelming, and it was a creamy and smooth comforting drink on a cold day! My friend sat by at one of their wooden tables for a couple of hours as we enjoyed our drinks. Mocha: Contrary to the maple pine latte, the chocolate taste in this drink was minimal and overall tasted more like a regular latte. I would've loved to get a stronger chocolate taste for this one. I've walked past this place a few times, and no matter what time of day it is, there's always a line. I finally convinced myself to wait the line out on a Saturday at 3pm. Service was excellent and friendy, though I was disappointed that the competition style cappuccino, which my friends strongly recommended, was only available as a "for-here" option. Instead, I opted for my traditional iced vanilla oat milk latte, which came with a healthy amount of oat milk, a splash of vanilla syrup, and a decently strong espresso. I was quite happy overall with the coffee, which didn't have any notes of burnt/bitterness like saint Frank's former counterpart in this space. Would I come back? Not entirely sure yet--other coffee shops in the area can do the same without the added hype or cost. But if I were entertaining a friend in the area, saint franks would easily be my choice of cafe. read more

Really enjoy this new coffee joint on the block, it's strong! I've never felt so caffeinated by a cup of coffee before. So far I've tried their regular coffee, pumpkin spice and regular latte. All were great, their quality of beans is high. The cashier pours your drink in front if you before you pay. Their drinks are on the less sweet side but you can add your own syrup on the side. Their pastries are good too. My fav has to be their black sesame kouign amann which pairs well with their coffee. It is definitely on the pricey side, with their specialty latte being 6.75 and regular latte 6, but I enjoy the quality and it is a nice treat. Since I don't really drink coffee, I went for the matcha latte; however, the coffee menu looked pretty interesting and intriguing which I may want to try next time if I am in area. First of all, the coffee is very good. no doubt about it. We were wanting to checkout a pastry, but there were gnats flying around in the food display case, which immediately turned us off to wanting to try any. It's not really their fault - this area is lousy with flys and gnats - folks just need to be hyperaware of them. I was originally going to write this review with a much lower rating, but the staff, without realizing it, redeemed themselves immediately. I'm all for personalized customer experience, but not at the cost of every other customer. Especially when the personalized experience looks more like flirty with the two young ladies in the line. I was able to go to the toilet and back to the line to join my partner who had not moved forward. Anyway, as we continued to wait for our turn to put in our simple order (I just wanted a small cup of coffee), the lack of attention to anyone other than the two girls in front of us was getting a bit annoying. So I was done. I put in our order when it was finally our turn and simply went to pay. I'm not sure if the staff are trained to be super observant (and noticed my annoyance) or they are naturally very nice - but the amount on the register was missing the small coffee. There's a new massively overrated café in the Sunset. If you're looking for a disappointment, you can go stand in line for 20 minutes outside of Saint Frank at ninth and Judah. Expect nothing more than a cappuccino that tastes like a cappuccino from McDonald's. Their line management is dismal at best. Maybe the owners prefer maximizing their Q4 profit margin by purposefully reducing the right amount of staff for all the espresso machines even though the average order size is probably about $20-$30 for a simple coffee and a bland room temperature pastry. Or maybe they think Sunday mornings will be slow. That makes sense. Yea. Maybe everyone will be too busy at church praying for President Jesus to lower tariffs on coffee. Each of the two espresso machine has three ports for espresso pulls, but the staff only uses one. This is an interesting strategy. Let's have five unused backup pulls, but keep only one barista for the biggest day of the week rush. The second espresso machine lay ignored at the end of the bar, vacant for an employee so anyone paying attention can wonder why it's not being used to speed up the 50 people standing in line waiting for their totally average espresso drink or overpriced ($7.50) single origin coffee. Everything is so mediocre you don't even find a "micro"-influencer taking food portraits with their new orange iPhone Pro. It's almost as if every customer was a background actor in a B movie. Not even your SF standard 20 somethings asking for capital for their poorly thoughout AI company designed to put everyone out of a job, including themselves when the VC money runs out on their shitty ChatGPT stack. "We listen to your staffs conversations to make sure the cashier always compliments an article of clothing your patron is wearing." (Also instead of demanding this unauthentic interaction, just show the cashier how to use an espresso machine, it's not rocket science). Saint Frank is the house coffee provider at Coffee! Movement...the house blend coffee.... If you want real specialty coffee, a fast moving line and a much better atmosphere just go there...even though your cash will still find its way to owners of Saint Frank who invested in CM...it's still a better vibe. read more
