Cute inside

Ordered an iced matcha with strawberry syrup it was tasty! Quiet ambiance with a few tables. The bathroom def needed some attention but I'd assume it probably gets some outsider traffic cute spot and I'd go back to sit and work if I am in the area.

Very chill vibes. Most of the tables were taken by people working hard on their laptops. Nice selection of pastries and hot food items. Warning: there is very little parking! We had to park a couple blocks away in the residential area. The workers were all very nice and friendly. They asked all the customers ahead of us if they were students (for 10% off), and did not ask us. What gives! My bf ordered the drip coffee - He liked it and said how he expected it to. I ordered the Latte with Pandan syrup - Pretty gross. My bf said it had a nasty Frito aftertaste. There was no pandan flavor at all.

Pandan Latte (16 oz)

Cute coffee shop that's perfect for hanging out, working, or studying. There's a decent amount of tables and chairs in the shop. I came yesterday around 1:30pm. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon and the shop wasn't busy when I came. I ordered and got my drink within a few minutes of being there. Staff was nice and service was quick. I ordered a 16 oz Pandan Latte with almond milk. I asked for a little less sweet but I should've gone with half sweet instead. The drink was still a little too sweet for me. Regardless, the drink was very good! I could really taste the pandan and it wasn't too overpowering where I could't taste the coffee. It was a good balance.

Lavender Vanilla Matcha

The lavender vanilla matcha has a great flavor! However, I didn't think the matcha quality was too great compared to other cafes in the area. The ratio for sweetness to matcha was good, and the staff were really friendly. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying one of the coffee options.

I was really excited to try this spot but it fell a little flat and in all honesty I think it did so because of the almond milk. I ordered a seasonal iced earl grey matcha and a pandan latte both with almond milk (my usual choice). The earl grey matcha was a really good base! But, the quality and flavor of the almond milk took over. Similarly, the coffee was almost mostly almond milk flavor. I should have asked but I'd be really curious what almond milk brand is used. I could only recommend this place to someone if they were not ordering almond milk. I had a brief interaction with the staff and she was very helpful and friendly. The spot itself was pretty tiny and there were a couple people working.

pandan latte, chicken empanada

got a pandan latte and surprisingly really good! it was my first time going here and there was some open spaces around for street parking i LOVED their chicken empanada! the meat was sooo juicy inside and a good amount of veggies too decent amount of seating with tables inside and went around 11 am on a saturday would come again to try other drinks such as matcha latte etc! not much stood out from customer service since it was our first time coming in but i do think it would've been better if the barista was a little more smiley/greeting us with more friendly energy when we walked in and walked up to the counter to order.

Blue House Cafe is a small cafe on the boarder of San Francisco and Daly City. I came in today and even on a rainy day there was a decent amount of people there doing work and enjoying the space. This seams like a great place to do work or study, it is very quiet and provides a great atmosphere. They sell very unique drinks and pastries. When I arrived, they provided samples of their original and ube mochi. They also sold pasties and homemade musubis! I got the lavender ube matcha. As a matcha lover, I expected this to be a hit or miss. Glad to say this was a great drink and I would come back to have it again. My friends also enjoyed the drinks they ordered.

I love pandan lattes and blue house cafe really hit the spot! The pandan coffee was a great balance of flavors and I could really taste the pandan. Would come back again if I'm in the area!

My friend and I visited Blue House Café and were instantly enveloped with warm and welcoming energy! The barista who helped us was extremely sweet and friendly, and she made our drinks quickly. It was so comforting to sip a hot drink on a foggy, overcast day (the best combination). We spent a good hour just sitting by the window and doing some paperwork, and this café is a really sweet and cozy spot!

Cute coffee shop in south SF. Stopped here for a latte- the inside has a nice vibe, the coffee was tasty with homemade syrup and sample of mochi cake, therefore overall a win in my book. Prices are kinda expensive but overall a nice place to grab a vanilla latte.

3.5/5 Cute neighborhood spot! They almost always have open seating. It's pretty quiet inside and have good wifi; they're a good WFH place! I got a Ube Latte but couldn't taste too much of the ube.

Matcha tastes very grassy compared to other shops. I got the iced madagascar vanilla matcha and it wasn't sweet enough for my personal liking. My friends liked the grassy taste though, so it depends on personal prefrence.

Matcha ube iced coffee

Small coffee shop with unique flavors and great taste. Every time I come here, I try and new drink and each one is delicious. Good weekend pick-me-up, and they also have good pastries if you want more than just a drink. I ordered the matcha ube latte with oat milk. You can really taste both the matcha and the ube! Great spot with nice workers and good seating.

Like everywhere else in SF, you have to pay for street parking but it's free after 6pm! The vibes inside are of a typical coffee shop and there is a good amount of tables and seats! The barista makes each drink one at a time, so it could take a while to order and get your drinks, but it just shows that they are very intentional with their drinks! I was super excited to find out that Ballast Coffee is actually a Filipino coffee shop that serves Barako Coffee, which I believe they source from the Philippines. They also sell barako bean roast blends for $20 in case you wanted to make it at home! Since they use Filipino barako beans, I had to order their Ube iced latte and Ube hot chocolate! The coffee had a slightly fruity yet chocolatey undertone that made it really delicious with the Ube! I do think that the coffee had a lighter taste to it, so it let the ube taste stand out more. My favorite was the Ube hot chocolate because it was super decadent and warming! I'll definitely be back at Ballast Coffee to study more and to also try their Ube Mocha as well as other drinks!

The empanada wasn't heated long enough and the inside was still a bit cold. There were cubes of beef inside but I didn't think it had enough seasoning. Wouldn't order the beef empanada again. The ube lattes were OK but I think their regular coffee drinks taste better. It's a nice place to meet with a friend or two and have coffee and a conversation if you ca. get table seating not occupied by people with their PCs for hours.

Today I dropped our recently senior rescued dog for his first grooming for us. I came upon an "Old Friend" Java on Ocean Coffee. The café is at the corner or Ocean Avenue and Faxon across the street from the former Walgreens which means amble parking! Java On Ocean Coffee is a classic San Francisco coffee place which has much more than coffee to order. There is a selection of savory breakfast items, sandwiches and smoothie! Given it was after 3 pm I ordered a Mexican Mocha and an oatmeal cookie. The café was fairly packed with nearby Riodan High School students studying about American history "New Deal" with great enthusiasm and laughter! There are 15 tables and plenty of seating including several outside but given the May gray day I cozyed under a poster of famous Mexican artist Frieda to drink my Mexican Mocha today. I look forward to future exploring Ocean Avenue including getting a smoothie or sandwich at the café!
