Used to serve anything that's both American and Italian, until Vanessa had made it into a family run small business restaurant which was absolutely welcoming for both locals and tourists alike since 2004. It's the only reason I come to 7 Mile House during Asian History Month that aims for Filipino fun. My specialty drink: Ube Colada (non-alcoholic). I want to try the Lambanóg, but it's few years late and I wouldn't mind since I prefer any drink that's zero proof. This creamy purple smoothie is so refreshing, I wouldn't mind getting a brain freeze. Main course? Actually, I take something out of the lunch menu, which is Beyond Burger; pickles at the top, lettuce, tomato, and cheese; old school American style with a plant based patty! I eat the fries first since they're fresh and chewy. Wish I stick around for an appetizer or a salad; but given that there's several people dining indoors while few of us outdoors, I'll have to pass. Before I walk a couple of blocks toward 7 Mile House, I noticed the gas prices for both gas stations are just as high as near my neighborhood. I'll be wondering how long will a famous family run restaurant can go an extra mile before it runs out of steam. My best bet is that we must support each other as local communities, just like how the 7 Mile House of today had kept us together for generations.

For drinks, we tried the Ube-B-Boba and the Mango Margarita. The fish lumpia came out fresh from the fryer and was crispy, although pretty oily. The flavor was decent, but it really needed the soy sauce vinegar dipping sauce that came on the side to add some acidity and balance. The sweet chili garlic wings were good, but the sauce reminded me a lot of Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce. Both entrees were flavorful, but overall they leaned too salty for my taste. The pork adobo was tender, but I wished it had more vinegar and black pepper flavors. That's just how I enjoy my adobo though. I also found myself wanting more acidity in the sisig to cut through the richness. The drinks were fine. The Mango Margarita can be ordered blended or on the rocks. I chose it blended, but it was a little too sweet for my preference. The Ube-B-Boba was enjoyable but didn't particularly stand out. Overall, the food was fine, but nothing really wowed us. It's a decent spot, but I don't feel a strong need to rush back.

A lady greeted us at the restaurant, very friendly and seated us right away. Cute small restaurant. Love the old photos of SF in the olden days . We ordered the San Bruno florentine Benedict and Western omelette. Before you order, know that the portions are huge! All the Benedict's comes with 3 poached eggs on an English muffin with hash brown or tater tots with your choice of stuffings. It was very rich, heavy breakfast and delicious! The mushroom and spinach with the sausage was savory. I love how the egg yolks just falls apart everywhere when you cut it in the middle. The hollandaise sauce was just the right amount. It was very filling. The omelette was like a calzone. They stuffed that omelette with so much filling that my hubby was loving it!!! He said it was full of flavors and all the stuffings were soo delicious he could not stop eating. Halfway to his omelette you can tell he was full but he was a trooper and almost finished everything. lol. Anyway, we left the restaurant overly stuffed but happy!!! We should have stopped eating when our tummy told us to stop, but it was delicious and fresh so we kept digging in. That was a mistake, lol. This place by far is one of the best breakfast place I've been to. Come hungry. Will be back!

There is also another spot, Gateway that has similar food, I think they are related from reading the social media post. Yep. seen all the IG reels on Superstar Restaurant with the Hong Kong style porkchops, garlic rice & longanisa lunch plate for super cheap, of course I had to bookmark to give Superstar a try. We stopped by first time during January 2026 but they were closed for vacation-? then so happy got to try Superstar during this recent March 2026 visit. Superstar Restaurant is located in Excelsior district, street parking only but we had no luck so parked at Safeway, which I also had to make a stop there after visiting SS. Superstar is a hidden gem for sure, serving up affordable Filipino comfort foods with a touch of Chinese influence. This local-owned eatery has been in business since 1990. Don't judge the place by its looks, doesn't look so nice from the shop, they still have the original menu/prices from the business previously up. Just place your order with the friendly staff and your belly will thank you. I really wanted to grab more than 2 plates but didn't want the food to go to waste if we can't finish, ended up with the famous pork chop, bangus, and side of popcorn chicken. For the plate you get a choice of pineapple or tomatoes, fried egg and garlic rice. & the verdict: Wow. that pork chop was super good, juicy, crispy, tender, and super flavorful, the best ever had with garlic rice and how they cook the egg ( Filipino style like how you see on the Instagram reels) The bangus was boneless and has a nice smoke flavor. The popcorn chicken so fun to eat, love the batter on the chicken. So authentic. I wanted to get the breakfast plates ( tocino, longanisa) but def. will make a stop next time we visit. We wanted to stop by the next day before we leave SF but location/time didn't work out, sad face! All in all, such a great value for the money, everyone who makes a stop here will know what I mean, OMG wow., where can you get a full size plate lunch & like Superstar yummy for under $10.00?!, Thank you Superstar for keeping it low in this economy, if I lived here ya know Id be stopping by for my pork chop, longanisa, bangus, garlic rice and everything else fix! & Cash Only, don't forget to byo garlic chili oil sauce/spices!

More recently, I also hit a small bad beat jackpot for roughly $450 table share, which kept the experience exciting. I was introduced to "the dark side" aka baccarat here and ultimately lost around $50,000 over time. There were many times when I was up though, which really feeds into the dopamine and adrenaline receptors. Generally, when I win - I tip the staff generously because I think of myself as a philanthropist. Anywho, very engaging and exciting environment, but also a clear reminder that gambling should be treated strictly as occasional entertainment. I think of the loss as paying for someone's salary - so technically I'm the boss xD The dealers, floormen, service staff, and security are consistently professional, and the games are well-run and active. The night shift management can feel cold or unwelcoming toward players who are not actively gambling. I understand the perspective, though, as other patrons may not appreciate lingering presence if someone is not playing. Overall, the room runs well, but the customer experience at night can feel uneven depending on management and expectations.
