    Longanisa, two baby milk fish
    Pear N.

Went there early in the morning, and they were already starting to get busy. We ordered two lumpia, milkfish plates, added an extra fish, and got longanisa on the side. Everything was inexpensive, but the lumpia were very small, almost tiny, though still fun to snack on. I think the best way to order is to call ahead and make sure to bring cash with you. The service was fine and we didn't have any issues ordering, but the place could definitely use a deep clean.

Had to eat at this classic to see if it is still as good as I remember. I think the last time I ate at this place was over 10 years ago, tasted just as good. The hongkong pork chop n garlic rice is probably ur perfect lunch n only 8 bucks. It is cash only and take out style. Food comes out hot and the simplicity is what makes it so good. My bf loves the Longanisa

Came to the city because my boyfriend and I had errands to take care of in the morning. By lunchtime I was starving, and luckily we were already in the area. He told me, "I know a spot nearby," and it turned out to be right in the neighborhood. I had never been there before, but he immediately said to get the pork chop with garlic rice. I was looking at the menu and saw a few other things I wanted, but he kept saying, "Trust me--get the pork chop." So I did... and wow, he was right. I opened the container and saw a huge piece of hot, crispy pork chop. I moved it to the lid so I could get to my rice and, to my surprise, there was another big piece of pork chop underneath. My jaw dropped. The pork chops were hot, crispy, and super juicy. The garlic rice was perfect too. I do wish the egg was a little runnier, but honestly the pork chop won me over so much that I didn't mind the egg at all. We didn't even wait to drive to our second destination--we just stood outside and used the trunk of my car as a table while we ate. That's how good it was. They used to have a small dining area open, but now it's just a takeout spot. Also, they're cash-only, so make sure you have cash on hand. The price was amazing--only $8 for the pork chop platter, which is such a good deal for the amount of food you get.

Superstar is how you get a meal for a deal. Neighborhood institution, clearly liked by all, concerned service. I came at around 1pm for the porkchops but unfortunately they were out. They were out of a lot of stuff including the tocino, longganisa, etc which was honestly very sad. But if anything that just tells me that they must get real busy! I had tapa and the popcorn chicken, still very good. Cash only and quite cheap. They were very sorry for not having certain items and the people around me were just as disappointed. They were so concerned about their lack of items, I felt bad instead LOL.

BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! An easy go to spot, for a quick take out. It is cash only so make sure you have cash on hand. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options they have, I personally got the popcorn chicken just to try it out, but as simple as the meal was, every bite was so worth it! Definitely a spot I will be coming back to!! Parking is limited to street parking.

I was in the area for some shopping and it's been a minute since I went to Superstar and was in need of a quick and affordable meal. Prices for the regular plates like the Filipino tapsilog was $6.50 and I added a side of longanisa sausage for $4 for two sausages. The flavor was ok for both. I think the meat was a little dry but some spicy vinegar at home made up for it. Longanisa was ok, didn't have that distinct longanisa flavor but still tasty enough. The plate comes with garlic rice, an egg, and some tomatoes. The garlic on the rice was a little too burnt for my liking, I think plain rice would be my choice here. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap meal that won't break the bank, this is a solid spot to check out.

We lucked out and found a parking space out front. And then there were only a few people in front of us at 12:30pm on a Monday. This was my first time here. It is cash only and there is no dine in. Looks like there is only 3 people working - the cashier and 2 cooks. All meals Are cooked to order which I like. We ordered the fried chicken and chicken wing meal. It came with an overcooked fried egg and some chunked tomato. My wings were fine. They were crispy but small. The egg was overcooked. The tomato was delicious. I loved the garlic rice although the garlic stayed with me the rest of the afternoon. My husband said his chicken fryer leg was dry. Our Total was like $17. What a Deal! I still have a couple wings left and some fried rice. I read on Yelp that the Hong Kong pork chop was good and a very popular item. I'll have to try that next time.

We tried going to Gateway Kitchen first but they were closed then we went down the street to superstar. I found this place on social media. It is definitely a hole in the wall but thats how you know the food is gonna be good. It was our first time here but I would expect nothing less as far as service and quality of good. The lady taking our order has been there for years. It was easy to order and the food only took 15 minutes. For the price being what it was the food honestly was decent. I would definitely come back for cheap eats!

Supertar Restaurant is a great spot for authentic Filipino breakfast. The food tastes very home-style and comforting, just like traditional breakfast in the Philippines. Their silog meals are flavorful, the garlic rice is perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous. The meats are well seasoned and pair perfectly with eggs and rice. The service is friendly and quick, and the atmosphere feels casual and welcoming. It's a great place to start your day if you're craving classic Filipino breakfast favorites. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious, authentic Filipino breakfast!

Been craving their fried chicken, ordered two while they had it. Gotta get in early or they run out. Chuckling that people are so blind saying they tried to call and the lady is constantly on the phone taking orders, duh, maybe she's busy taking orders on the phone, maybe that's why the phone isn't being picked up, go figure. This takeout restaurant is real real busy as evidenced by the amount of people in the lobby waiting for their orders. This is a real popular place for real decent food and it's standing room only to place in person orders not to mention phone orders if you can get through. By the way, they are also charging an extra $.50 per order when eggs are in their orders, seems fair since the egg shortage and prices have went up for eggs.

    Abel A.

Good tasting eats for the cheap. You're not eating here for your health. But if you want those silog meals for a value, this is where to go.

Nothing has changed but the prices. Still one of the cheapest in the city. Still hella good and always enough for 2 meals!! To go only and best ti order ahead of you can.

Since my last review, we had a moment where we went here almost every Saturday, even when I'd get off of work early. We've tapered off a little. We didn't want to get sick of it. The food has always been consistent. The only change now is they don't give as much rice. They used to top it off where you needed double the meat. Price has gone up by .50 because of egg price increase. My go to now is HK Style porkchop, longanisa, and lumpia shanghai. Don't forget cash only!.

She surprised me with a reservation at Ox + Tiger and I was immediately impressed. The restaurant only seats 8 people, making the whole experience super intimate and personal. When Japanese and Filipino flavors come together, you get such a unique fusion cuisine inspired by chef couple Ej and Hatomi. Dinner was more than just a meal it was a 2 to 2.5 hour storytelling experience about their menu creations, how they met, and the grind behind keeping their dream alive. The menu changes monthly, so even if I told you what we had, you probably wouldn't get the same dishes unless you book now lol. It's a 3-course menu with optional add-ons, and definitely unlike any restaurant I've been to before. As a Filipino, I'll admit I can be picky with Filipino-inspired food because we grow up spoiled by our parents' cooking but this? I was genuinely impressed. Situated in a small, 8 seat counter, dinner is intimate with dishes being prepared right in front of you. The menu features three courses, an appetizer, main, and a dessert - with the option for an additional add-on. Our meal featured a focus on fish, in particular mackerel and monkfish. Each of the dishes were deconstructions of familiar concepts such as Caesar salad and a California roll, but enhanced with new flavors. The mackerel was sublime, perfectly charred exterior with a still raw interior. The monkfish was tender, coated in a ginger, wasabi sauce next to crispy sweet rice and avocado. The dessert was by far the most unique, being a miso dashi, mushroom cherry coated coconut ice cream with a tupig-like mochi on the side. The savory, sweet, sour combination completely catches you off guard but becomes increasingly addictive the more you eat. So bold and absolutely memorable. Ox&Tiger takes familiar concepts, breaks them apart, then fuses them back together with a flair of Filipino and Japanese flavors. This results in dishes that are utterly unique and innovative. Additionally, with menus and playlists designed by family, this truly feels like the epitome of a family-run business and a meal cooked with so much care in front of you. This is absolutely worth a visit and an opportunity to try new flavors you've never experienced before.
