The last mile house that last for over 168 years is an amazing sight, with many stories of old to tell, along with survival stories like COVID that 7 Mile House stronger and better than ever. Used to serve anything that's both American and Italian, until Vanessa had made it into a family run small business restaurant which was absolutely welcoming for both locals and tourists alike since 2004. It's the only reason I come to 7 Mile House during Asian History Month that aims for Filipino fun. My specialty drink: Ube Colada (non-alcoholic). I want to try the Lambanóg, but it's few years late and I wouldn't mind since I prefer any drink that's zero proof. This creamy purple smoothie is so refreshing, I wouldn't mind getting a brain freeze. Main course? Actually, I take something out of the lunch menu, which is Beyond Burger; pickles at the top, lettuce, tomato, and cheese; old school American style with a plant based patty! I eat the fries first since they're fresh and chewy. Wish I stick around for an appetizer or a salad; but given that there's several people dining indoors while few of us outdoors, I'll have to pass. Before I walk a couple of blocks toward 7 Mile House, I noticed the gas prices for both gas stations are just as high as near my neighborhood. I'll be wondering how long will a famous family run restaurant can go an extra mile before it runs out of steam. My best bet is that we must support each other as local communities, just like how the 7 Mile House of today had kept us together for generations. read more

MEH............. That's the best way to describe this place. I know, I know, it's an iconic establishment, been around for decades, mix of Filipino, American, Italian foods. I am sure they have their fans, I just didn't find it all that great. The food was pretty okay. I had the steak sandwich and it served its purpose. My wife order the pork Sisig, which was probably the best thing they got there. Other mentionablies were the wings with a sweet and spicy dipping sauces and veggie spring rolls, both were good. Big plus for dog owners, they are very pet friendly, with outdoor sitting. They have a doggie menu, including doggie steak, dog beer and dog cigars. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. My Uber driver was a fellow bay native, and recommended this spot for good lumpia. What I didn't realize was how amazing it was going to be with drinks, desserts, appetizer, vibe, and everything else. Little corner spot off the road with decent parking down the street. The inside has a dive bar feel, with two outside patio areas, one was striped and simple and the other area has glitter reefs, a TV, and a little more upbeat. We sat there and took a corner table on a day where the weather was perfect and it was a vibeee. This spot has alot of bay history which you can feel, and we loved that. I highly recommend outside time when weather permits. We ordered lumpia sampler, ube martini, ube colada, lychee martini, ube coffee, lumpia sampler, adobo, beef salpacio, fish tacos, ube cheesecake, and funky monkey. Wow. We went in. Alllll of it was incredible, minus the fish tacos. Those were in tostada cups with melted yellow cheese and could def be better from the tortillas To the fish marinade to the toppings...However, the rest of the menu was nothing short of incredible, we left nothing behind. Only other feedback was they were out of quite a few things, only made certain things later on in the day like the brazilian soup, and it was 12pm. Got the grilled mushrooms which were so flavorful and juicy, but a little salty after a while. Sizzling adobo was sooo tender and flavorful. Parking, the location is interesting but it had plenty of parking which is surprising for a restaurant in the Bay because typically it's hard to find parking. Nice mom and pop restaurant. It small inside with limited tables but they make up for it with outdoor seating. Outdoor was actually very warm with the heat lamps and sealed properly to prevent wind draft entering. It was also karaoke night so it was a treat to listen to brave folks sing. Food is excellent. Highly recommend the sweet chili garlic wings and fish lumpia. Fish lumpia is like a delicate better version of fish and chips. Not greasy, excellent texture, soft and crispy. Server was excellent, friendly, humorous, and hardworking. We came yesterday for a Mothers Day lunch. Promptly seated outdoors with an umbrella for shade it was all quite nice. Street parking. We had fish lumpia and all sorts of entrees I had the loco moco. So glad we went here. We came here after Cow's Palace from the Great Dickens fair, and they had a kids menu. We found parking pretty easy. They had two bathrooms, no changing area for kiddos, and a back patio as well as seating before you enter. High chairs were available upon request. And sounds like if you were local, you do get a bunch of coupons/incentives to be a return patron. One of the patrons at the tables shared their free coupon with us, and my husband got to enjoy the mango margarita. They said they often get coupons in the mail here. First time here with my three girlfriends for Sunday happy hour. I was happy they offered a weekend happy hour menu, but there weren't many options. We ordered a total of four lemon drops and three margaritas from the happy hour menu. For food, we ordered two orders of Angus beef tacos, two orders of pulled pork sliders, and two orders of fries -- one garlic and one seasoned. Both the tacos and sliders were just okay. If the slider buns had been heated, they would have been better, but instead they were cold, like they had just taken the buns straight out of the Hawaiian bread bag and added pulled pork. As for the fries, they were very oily. I know fries are usually oily, but these were extremely greasy. It felt like they hadn't been drained enough before being served, as there was a lot of oil at the bottom. Service was quick, since the tacos and sliders came out less than 5 minutes. The only thing that took over 20 minutes was our fries, which I think they may have forgotten. The place is dark and not modern, but it has a lot of historical charm. If you're looking for a modern spot, this isn't it. However, if you haven't been here before, it's still a good experience. I might not come back, but if my friends wanted to, I would. We visited Seven Mile House because I love historical places and was curious to finally see what this one is about. To be honest, we didn't really enjoy our experience. The interior inside was nice, but we asked to sit outside since the weather was good and we wanted some fresh air. Unfortunately, the outdoor area felt very old and not well-maintained. I think this place works best if you come for a casual lunch, a drink, or to watch a sports even, but definitely not for a date or a special outing. The atmosphere just doesn't give you that kind of vibe, and it's hard to fully enjoy it. As for the food, it was okay, but nothing we would come back for. The only thing I really liked was my cocktail, the mango margarita, which seems to be a popular choice. Overall, it was interesting to visit this historical spot at least once, but we left a bit disappointed, mainly because of the food. I appreciate that they keep a historic place running, and I think it can be a good option if you're looking for something casual, not too expensive, or if you want more of a bar experience. Tried it again after a year or so and not great but ok. It used be hella good food like a 4/5 but its gone down to 3/5. They made my order wrong so It had to be sent back which meant my significant other ate without me and the timing was all off. The food was great and no complaints there, but I was surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to our bill for a party of only 5 during happy hour when the restaurant wasn't even busy. When paying, the employee told me not to add a tip because it was already included -- but never mentioned it was automatically 20%. That lack of transparency feels misleading. I was questioning it a little, only because of the outdoor appearance, but I had no clue of the history and how great the food would be. I took a star down in a recent visit last night as I noticed the bill. When I ordered food came in , rarely got checked in with staff. But regardless, I didn't like the pay systems as much as gratuity is set at 20 percent, which is not common at other places but after the set gratuity the pay feature on the phone ask if you would like to pay additional tip on top of your 20% tip for another 15%, 18%, or 20% which I feel finesses guests that are used to tipping normally. So be aware if you meant to tip 20 percent but actually meant to tip just 20 and not 40. Food, still very good! Mango mojito delicous! The nachos were a beautiful sight! read more

Had to try the Ube Chicken and Waffles for my meal and it was as great as I hoped it would be: fluffy ube waffle, two pieces of crispy fried chicken, topped with a garnish of deep-fried green onions. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and the oysters are only $1.75 each if you dine in on Sundays and Mondays. The Ube Espresso Martinis were delicious and sweet. I haven't had an Ube Espresso Martini before and I love anything that is Ube flavored, so we had to try it. Pork Lumpia was solid! You can't go wrong with having it as an appetizer.
