My spouse and I came here for brunch before running errands and shared the Bangsilog plate with extra pork skewers....and wow, the portions were plentiful! The meal came with garlic rice, fried milkfish marinated in vinegar, pepper, and salt, plus we ordered vegetable atchara (pickled veggies), and every bite was comforting and flavorful. The milkfish was crispy and savory, balanced nicely with the tangy pickled vegetables. My spouse especially loved the pork skewers as they were marinated perfectly, juicy, and had that delicious smoky grilled flavor that keeps you wanting more. The restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and happy to give recommendations. What I loved most was how homey the entire place felt. On Sundays from 12-3pm they even have live music in the backyard, and it honestly reminded me so much of the family gatherings I used to go to as a kid! FINALLY! Much like with so many of the other eateries that have previously sat on my perpetually long list of bookmarks, it took me far too long to finally check out Tselogs. Ever since one of my old coworkers mentioned how this place was her go-to spot whenever she had cravings for some of her childhood favorites, I had been wanting to come here. I mean, with an endorsement like that, how could I not be intrigued? Of course, it also makes it that much more inexplicable that it's taken me all of these years, especially since I pass by this place all of the time! While their original location isn't all that far away, where Tselogs calls home now is so much more convenient. By comparison, their current space is not only a lot larger, but parking is easier and you don't have to deal with the traffic that can back up on San Pedro. As for the menu, it doesn't seem to have changed much since they moved a few years back, other than perhaps one or two things falling off/getting added on - it's still filled with the same terrific selection of silogs, in a dozen different varieties, along with a slate of appetizers, specialty dishes, daily specials, and desserts. What's more, they even have a full bar with a mix of Filipino inspired cocktails, too! -- COMBINATION SILOG with Lechon Kawali and Bangus This was awesome! I was most excited for the Bangus and it was so good - crispy, flavorful, and nowhere near overcooked. The Lechon Kawali wasn't too bad either, but, as a whole, it was a little fattier than others others I've had in the past. -- COMBINATION SILOG with Sisig and Lumpia Shanghai Not quite as good as I was hoping for, but no less satisfying! While I liked the sisig and how flavorful it was, I would've preferred pork over chicken. As for the Lumpia Shanghai, each piece was fried up perfectly and was fairly plump, but I wish the filling had been more flavorful. Beyond the food, service isn't too shabby either, as the workers are friendly and the kitchen gets orders out relatively fast. However, one thing that I've noticed is that each time we've been here, we've never received the complimentary shrimp chips that so many others seem to get. Not sure if it's only given upon request, the luck of the draw with regards to which worker takes your order, or what, but it's definitely something we couldn't help but notice. Those shrimp chips aside, between how convenient they are and how good the food has been, it's easy to see why my old coworker comes here any time she has a craving for her childhood comfort foods. Plus, even though they don't stay open as late as they used to (I think they used to close at 2am on Fridays and Saturdays?), Tselogs still keeps some relatively friendly late night hours (open until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays). One of my favorite Filipino breakfast spots in Daly City! It's conveniently located right across the shopping plaza with Jollibee, which makes it super easy to find. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. You pay up front, then they bring the food out to your table, which makes everything quick and smooth. Had wanted to try this place for a while as I've been looking for more Filipino restaurants. Got to Tselog's pretty shortly after opening, and they were busy! My party ordered the Sisig-silog and the Embutido-silog. Here are my thoughts: The Sisig-silog was satisfactory, but definitely prefer a pork sisig to the chicken as the dish felt like it was lacking some of the fat to add flavor. Otherwise, it's a typical Filipino breakfast with rice and egg! I personally ordered the Embutido-silog because one of my titas makes exceptional embutido! I'd say Tselog's embutido is good, and it hits all of the flavor profiles, but I wish it was warmer when it came out. For those who haven't had embutido before, I'd say it's like a Filipino meatloaf with raisin, eggs, and a red hot dog inside. Service-wise, the staff are super friendly and accommodating! We were seated almost immediately and they checked in often. Definitely can feel the Filipino hospitality shine through! The restaurant itself is pretty small, so beware if you're coming in a large party. The decor is homey and loved the little details. In terms of parking, we got lucky with a spot right outside the restaurant, but would recommend allotting time to find street parking. It's worthy to note that this is not a sit down then pay establishment and you'll actually need to order first at the front. There are few places that truly blow my mind with flavors. I saw a YouTube review of this restaurant and had to try it. Another shout out to ChonkyABG for this recommendation. I came here on a rainy Saturday morning ready to try many dishes with a friend. We went all out and ordered several dishes. First of all, the server was super friendly and very helpful. She helped us pick some really wonderful food! The Lechon Kare Kare was my favorite dish that we ordered. The peanut curry sauce with the crispy pork belly is a match made in heaven. It also came with a fermented shrimp paste that added some wonderful umami to the dish. There was also eggplant, bok choy and green beans on the dish which made it all a full meal. The beef paresilog was definitely a close second. Succulent, tender beef in a perfect sauce. This went especially well with the garlic rice and egg. We also ordered a porridge with the paresilog on it and it was also delicious. The tocino was also the best I've ever had. It reminded me of char siu pork and was so fatty and tender. My friend ordered the corned beef and the chicken sisig. Both of those dishes are great. I love how the sisig is served on a hot plate. I recommend trying some of the different sauces they put out for you. Be adventurous! There was a dark sauce that looked like it could be soy sauce, but it was some kind of msg, umami sauce that was very strong. It was really good with the sisig. Also, their Sukat, which is seasoned vinegar, was really good with the crispy pork belly. Finally, we had to try their beautiful, Ube Macapuno pie. I love ube, and the macapuno (jellied coconut) was really good. The pie came out warm and was the perfect end to this meal. I can't recommend this place enough. I ordered the garlic rice in its own container so that I can eat eat it over rice. They really need to serve over rice plates other than silogs. Oh my God this is the best Filipino food I've had. I have worked in Filipino restaurants and I have eaten Filipino food my entire life. Let's start out with the basics. The vegetables were not overcooked or mushy. Perfect. The eggplant was nice and soft as it should be. The bok choy was still crisp and not mushy. The green beans were cooked perfectly and that they were not overly crispy or not Mushy. The lechon!!! don't get me started! It Was so damn good! Usually lechon is not cooked long enough and the fat is not rendered and you get a hard piece of pork with a hard piece of skin. Not here! It was cooked perfectly in that the fat was rendered and when you bite into it it melts in your mouth followed up with the crispy crunch of the crunchy skin! And that was for every bite! The sauce was so damn good over rice. I need to order some more rice next time. Order two servings of rice! This was the only thing I tried since it was just myself. This second location just doesn't quite live up to the original. The ambiance is definitely nicer and feels more modern, but the food quality isn't the same, and the prices are noticeably higher. Our bill for two meals came out to around $80, which felt steep for what we got. At the first location, they used to serve complimentary soup at the start of the meal, but here you have to pay for it. They do offer shrimp chips, but the ones we received were unfortunately stale. The sizzling sisig was decent, but the corned beef and tocilog were on the tough side, and the egg that came with it wasn't runny, which took away from the dish. This is one of my personal favorite Filipino eateries and it's located in the heart of Daly City. The interior design from the inside looks like an old Spanish mission-like space with great lighting. The bar is stocked with high quality tequilas and other liquors, there's a table full of merch in the center of the dining room, and a station stocked with condiments and cutlery. I highly recommend ordering their lechon kawali tselog. It's high quality pieces of pork belly with a side of their house made lechon sauce which is authentic tasting and real. You can actually taste the cooked innards of the pig in the actual sauce. This is great! I thought their longanisa was good but not my fav; I've had better. Their corned beef was good but had this chaulky texture. It wasn't bad but it's not a brand or type that I'm used to. Either way, each of these dishes are delicious and worth trying. I ordered an extra side of sisig fries which were pricey at around $18. The sisig is chicken type and not pork which is different and a bit of a bummer because pork would just be so much better on the fries. Overall, this place is clean and their service is friendly. The plates come out fresh and hot! There's even onion-vinegar and soy sauce on the tables. Food is big in portion and will stuff you. All your classics but heightened with little and yet noticeable additions. The quality, done very well also. It was the service that was lacking, which was more the lack thereof. The commercialization of random products, and the hashing vibe of a bar didn't seem to equate well with the quality of the food. Overall, Filipino food has become a staple all around the Bay Area. Got into San Bruno pretty late and was starving. I found Tselogs on Yelp and saw they were open until midnight--exactly what I needed. I got there around 10:30 PM, and the staff seated us right away. They let us know that only silogs and appetizers were still available since they were closing in less than two hours. Fair enough, and honestly, it worked out great. We decided to go with a combo of sisig, bangus, pares, and tapa to sample a little bit of everything. The chicken sisig was a nice surprise--crispy, clean-tasting, and lighter than the usual greasy versions I've had before. It doesn't hit the same way as Max's fried chicken sisig, but it definitely holds its own. The bangus was cooked perfectly--crispy skin, soft belly, and paired beautifully with their soy sauce and vinegar dip. Their tapa was on the more charred side, which reminded me of something my sister-in-law would absolutely love. Thinly sliced, sweet and savory--simple but flavorful. The standout though? The pares. That dish alone made my night. Tender beef, rich sauce--comforting and delicious. I could've just had that by itself and gone home happy. We usually love this place because the food is good and the service is usually nice. However, we were there yesterday, 12/29/25, around 4:40 PM, and had a very disappointing experience. We ordered at the front, and it was not busy at all--there were probably only three people there. We waited for our food for a long time. During that time, a family of six walked in, followed by two more people, and they all started receiving their food before us--even though we were there first and only ordered two items. After 35 minutes, we were still waiting, and eventually it reached over an hour with no food. At that point, my friend and I went up to ask what was going on with our order. That's when the server realized our order was never processed. We saw him print the receipt and were told our food would be ready in five minutes. After waiting an hour due to their mistake, we were disappointed that there was no apology gesture such as a free appetizer or any consideration for the long wait. We feel the situation was not handled well and that our time was not respected. While my food was good, my friend's food was burned, likely because it was rushed after the long delay. I give these folks the coveted 5 stars because while I probably should rate it at 4, the five is due to their effort to upscale Filipino food, both in quality, presentation and restaurant decor & environment. A lot of Filipino restaurants don't pay much attention to the physical aesthetics and I give these folks props. Don't get me wrong, the dish I had was excellent, perhaps the best Palabok I've had in recent years. It's the only dish I've tried yet, so I'm going out on a limb in assuming the rest of their fares are good, and by looking around, other patrons seem to love what they ordered. The prices are a bit on the spendy side, but then again, it's a nice restaurant, the kind of place where you can take group of friends, especially those who aren't familiar with Filipino cuisine and take your time experimenting and linger on a bit. I say that with pleasing approval. I guess I'm used to other Filipino restaurants where the decor takes a back seat and most patrons eat hurriedly, like a Pacman game rushing along. So this place is a good change of pace, where it feels above the average and the food presentation is more polished. read more
