We usually love this place because the food is good and the service is usually nice. However, we were there yesterday, 12/29/25, around 4:40 PM, and had a very disappointing experience. We ordered at the front, and it was not busy at all--there were probably only three people there. We waited for our food for a long time. During that time, a family of six walked in, followed by two more people, and they all started receiving their food before us--even though we were there first and only ordered two items. After 35 minutes, we were still waiting, and eventually it reached over an hour with no food. At that point, my friend and I went up to ask what was going on with our order. That's when the server realized our order was never processed. We saw him print the receipt and were told our food would be ready in five minutes. After waiting an hour due to their mistake, we were disappointed that there was no apology gesture such as a free appetizer or any consideration for the long wait. We feel the situation was not handled well and that our time was not respected. While my food was good, my friend's food was burned, likely because it was rushed after the long delay. I miss the old Tselogs when they were located in the Mission. The food seemed to taste much better back then. Unfortunately, my recent visit did not meet my expectations. Not only are the prices higher compared to other places, but the quality of the food has also declined. I paid $23 for a combo that included lechon kawali and longanisa, but the lechon kawali was very dry as if they were triple fried and both items lacked flavor. The garlic rice also did not have any noticeable garlic taste. The whole combo was tasteless. I also ordered the dinuguan for $19, which came in a small bowl and was not particularly impressive. Mind you, the $19 did not come with rice. Went to Tselogs to treat our friend who's celebrating her birthday and it didn't disappoint! The ambiance was good, it felt like home. You'll see native stuff and decor. The place is in the busy street of Mission st. so it is only street parking by meter. We were lucky to have several space available but make sure to bring coins because you will definitely need it for a 2hr max metered parking. The restaurant is decent and has a cool vibe to it. It is clean and seems highly maintained and organized. We were greeted warmly by the host and didn't wait long to be seated. We were provided with the menu which has plenty of food varieties to choose. We elected to order the lumpiang suanghai, towat' lechon, and Kawali Kare Kare paired with garlic rice. We also ordered calamasi and mango juices for our drinks. We didn't wait long for the food to be served. The food were all made fresh and the presentation is great. I was on a trip with my family and so I wanted to try many different locations in the San Francisco area but this was by far my favorite spot for breakfast. Service was a bit strange for me. We went on a breakfast date to Tselogs in Daly City. Honest opinions here no hate. Best bang for your buck would have to be Superstar or Gateway Kitchen, but since these two places are always a hit or miss when it comes to operating hours then Tselogs is the place to go if you want to get your Filipino Food Fixe. All three spots are fresh when it comes to food and its comforting and makes you feel good. My hubby ordered the Sisigsilog and I ordered the Bangsilog with a cup of their Soup Broth. Both dishes came with an ample portion of their garlic rice and an egg. Extra egg cost $2 and the Soup Broth was nothing too fancy. I for sure thought the Soup Broth would have came in a bowl size but it came in a cup size about 8oz I'd say. The Soup Broth was made with garlic, onions, broth and scallions. The Sisigsilog consisted of seasoned chicken with lemon, soy sauce, onions, and a hint of jalapeño(which I normally don't like spicy food too much, but I didn't quite taste the spiciness at all) all served on a hot plate. The Bangsilog is a milkfish marinated in vinegar with salt and pepper. The Bangus is quite delicious reminded me of my in-laws when they would used to get it from Seafood City and we would all share it for meals. My overall experience I would have to say is ok. A bit taken away because for we aren't used to paying and tipping before getting our food and service. Food wasn't bad just a bit over priced, would I come again...maybe if I was in the area. Been going to Tselogs since they're older location across from Walgreens and their location off Jones in SF, but recently went to this location on Mission in Daly City, just diagonally across the street from Jollibee in the Lucky's plaza. There is only street parking, there is no lot. You can park along Mission, but sometimes you'll have to park in the plaza if it gets too busy. Tselogs is basically any Filipino dish with an egg and rice. Lol. As we Asian folks love our rice, Tselogs is a big hit! My go to is usually a combination, where you add a 2nd item for $4. My go to is usually Lechon Kawaii silog or Cornsilog, which is corned beef and I usually add the second such as Tocino or Sisig or some combination so I can get as many items as I can. Lol. This place isn't for the faint of heart or looking for healthy options, but the food is really solid if you're looking for silog plates. Price is more on the expensive side as it's around $15 for a plate. Ordering is tricky as one of the times we were seated, but never told to order at the cashier. There is no table service until they bring you your food. Everything else, like water is at a station nearby. Wasn't a fan of this self serve stuff, but it's understandable as they look a little short staffed. Overall, it's a 4 out of 5. I live nearby, so anytime I'm lazy and hungry for Filipino food, it suffices in a pinch. read more

Overall a good place for Filipino breakfast all day it's the same company as since 2008, just a new location. Ambiance is very calm and casual, and a nice place to go to in the morning. FYI if your party is 5+ AND despite individually ordering at the counter, they will still add a 18% gratuity since the party is more than 5. This doesn't make sense to me nor justifies as a gratuity should be, since they are not truly a full-service restaurant (we still had to get our own ketchup and small sauce plates for the vinegar and soy sauce for example instead of them serving them to us). If we wanted to order more food after our party is done, they still added the 18% gratuity which didn't make sense to me at all. This overall negative aspect is the main reason why I choose to rate lower than I wanted to at a 3/5. The 3 stars is because of the food, but to make a 5/5 I would have to justify the pricing and service. Be sure to upgrade your silogs to the combo for an additional $4 so you can try as much as you can, in addition to the soup broths (sadly no longer complimentary- they are $2 each). As seen in the image, I got a lechon kawali silog combo with bangus. Both the bangus and lechon kawali were super crispy and I have no complaints about them. I added on a soup broth as well to tear down the fat and salt in the silogs. The housemade drinks were pretty good too (see attached image). We opted for take out and ordered 4 dishes, for 4 of us who were at the restaurant. When we got home, we discovered we were missing 1 order, but after alerting their management, they gave us the option of refund or to pick up another order. We have been going here for over a decade and man does this place give me memories. They used to have a couple of spots before (original at Top of the Hill next on Mission next to Thai Power) that would close HELLA late. That's where we would get FADED and then go here at 12am-3am to sober up on some sisig. It was the F**** best. I've had the other stuff too like you can't go wrong with lumpia but also the lechon kawali. Just everything pork. You will feel your arteries clog and its great for the soul. It's always a hit and miss when we go but usually they give soup broth to drink and its peaceful af. Ambiance is you're surrounded by a lot of cultural decor and its amazing. Omg the drinks. There's this mezcal one I think where Ate Tsel was giving us drinks to test out and I can't remember the name of it. But it was a smooth citrus fruity one where it was like caprisun.
