Kare Kare- Kare (Ox Tail, brisket and Tripe)

Probably one of the best Filipino spots here in the bay... absolutely loved the kare kare.. I do wish there was just a little bit more meat for the price but overall amazing. I also love how the owner has pictures of her and her family in the Philippines. The place is cute

Inda + Mely is a really fun modern take on Filipino cuisine, and I appreciate what they're doing with the menu. It feels like a thoughtful way to introduce Filipino flavors to a broader audience while still keeping the heart of the dishes recognizable. We came around 5 PM on a Friday and were surprisingly the only ones there for the entire hour we stayed, which made for a quiet, relaxed dinner. The space itself is very cute and cozy, with a warm atmosphere that feels inviting for a casual date night or dinner with friends. Parking is something to keep in mind. They have a very small lot on the side of the building with maybe 4 spots total, so I can imagine parking could be tricky during busier hours if those fill up. I was genuinely excited by the menu because there were so many creative options that sounded amazing. We ordered the kilaw lamang dagat, garlic butter sugpo, bistek tagalog, sisig carbonara, and mango sticky rice. Kilaw lamang dagat - Think Filipino-style ceviche. This was one of my favorites of the night. The seafood tasted fresh, and the coconut milk and lemongrass really came through beautifully without overpowering the dish. Super refreshing and well balanced. Garlic butter sugpo - Came with 5 large prawns that were cooked really well, tender and not overdone at all. The garlic butter sauce was rich and flavorful, though it leaned a bit saltier than I personally prefer. Still a solid dish. Bistek tagalog - Easily our favorite of everything we ordered. The beef was cooked beautifully, tender and flavorful, and the sauce was rich and satisfying. It came with fries, which honestly deserve their own mention because they were insanely crispy. We kept talking about how good the fries were long after dinner. Sisig carbonara - I know this seems to be one of their more popular dishes, but this one just wasn't for me. The portion is huge, so definitely shareable, but personally I didn't think the creamy pasta paired that well with the sisig flavors. Not a bad dish, just not something I'd order again. Mango sticky rice - A nice way to end the meal. Classic and comforting, though they add chocolate syrup on top, which made it sweeter than I expected. If you have a strong sweet tooth, you'll probably love it. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and love seeing Filipino food presented in a fresh, modern way. Not every dish was a hit for me, but the creativity, atmosphere, and standout dishes definitely make this worth trying.

The food was good, but minus one star due to limited options for people seeking a diet low in saturated fats. The menu descriptions don't show the cooking methods. So if you are not familiar with Filipino food, you can unknowingly order foods that are deep fried or sopping with oil. Although they do have photographs, it's hard to tell the cooking method from the pictures. For example, they have an Okoy Salad listed as "shrimp + green papaya + rice powder". This is their only salad listing. We ordered it and were surprised to find that it was shrimp with deep fried items on a bed of greens. Another example was the Chili Garlic Chicken, listed as "annatto + peanuts + Chili + Aromatics". It was chicken that was breaded and appeared to be wok fried. Aside from the unhealthiness of the oil, the food was good. The Bistek Tagalog is slices of ribeye, served with French fries. Also good was the garlic fried rice, which comes in a very large bowl which easily serves four people. We visited on a Sunday around 7:30pm and were seated quickly. The servers were very friendly. The restaurant has their own parking lot.

We had a great weekend lunch with our family here. The lumpia and tortang talong were my faves. I also enjoyed the kare kare although it doesn't have a strong peanut flavor which is probably why I liked it. I thought the interior is bright and welcoming. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Inda + Mely serves a contemporary, creative take on Filipino cuisine in a small, modernly-decorated restaurant space in San Bruno. For someone less familiar with Filipino food, much of the menu is almost unrecognizable, but the friendly staff was helpful with recommendations. To start, the Okoy Salad was a bed of greens topped with a crispy "bird's nest" fritter made of shredded papaya/carrots and a whole shrimp, fried in a rice powder batter, served with a vinegar dressing on the side. One of my favorite dishes was the Cebuchon Sinigang. Sinigang is typically a sour meat and vegetable soup, but Inda + Mely's "deconstructed" version came with crispy cebuchon pork belly served with sautéed vegetables (green beans, eggplant, okra, tomatoes, potatoes) and an acidic mango tamarind sauce. The best part of this dish was the chunks of pork belly, which had a nice balance of lean meat, fat, and crispy skin. Continuing on, the Laing was taro greens stewed with coconut milk and dried fish, topped with slices of pork shoulder; and the Sisig Carbonara was spaghetti in a heavy cream sauce, topped with crispy bits of chicharron and lechon (pork skin and belly). Both of these dishes were rather heavy but extremely flavorful. Finally, another highlight dish was the Kare-Kare, a stew of super tender oxtail, brisket, and tripe in a curry-like spiced peanut sauce, served with green beans, eggplant, and Shanghai bok choy. The best part was the unctuous, mildly spiced peanut sauce, which went perfectly with a side of beautifully yellow-tinged Garlic Fried Rice. Overall, the food here was delicious, creative, and beautifully-presented in a clean, modern setting with friendly service.

We needed a hearty meal after picking up folks at SFO. This was near the airport and very convenient. There's a parking lot next to the restaurant with room for about 6 cars. Very friendly and attentive staff. The owner Raquel was there to assist us and she was friendly. We asked about the history of the restaurant, as the walls have photos of the family history. Food is very tasty, my favorite is the laing. The lechon with the pinakbet is really tasty. We were also pleasantly surprised with the Turon Baklava. If we're in the area, will definitely return.

We were hugely disappointed with our Sunday lunch experience here. The interior of the resto is warm and clean, the lady server was friendly however it's the food quality that sadly let us down. We ordered Kare-Kare ($37): bland and tasteless, helped slightly with a dash of shrimp paste (bagoong). The single piece of oxtail was tough as was the green bean topping. The sauce is FAR from the great kare-kare we've grown to love. The other big disappointment is the Pakbet con Lechon ($24). Both its pumpkin and okra were tough/hard to eat. The skin of the liempo was crispy at best but we really couldn't enjoy the meal with the sorry state of the veggies. Their longanisa spring roll ($20) has a crispy rice paper texture but the longanisa was a bit undercooked. Great tasting sauce though! The owner was focused solely on entertaining 1 table only and didn't bother checking/ touching base with the rest of the customers (4 out of 12 tables were occupied) There's a lot of better-tasting Filipino restaurants in the area that I'll return to. Some have faster service than the others. Not sure if this is a one-time off-day here but this first dining experience here will be our last.

    Bistek Tagalog
    Kay d.

Cute interior, interesting menu, but execution fell short. Bistek Tagalog was labeled ribeye but way too tough. Fries took up half the plate--crunchy with mayo, nothing special. Cebuchon with the wrong buro was better but still just okay. Smoked fish rice tasted more like plain garlic rice. All in: $96. Strong aesthetics, mid flavors, value didn't quite deliver.

Sinagang with bone marrow. Garlic rice. Sisig.
    Joanna D.

The food was fantastic! Had a flavor twist with the sisig & sinagang. The sinagang came with a bone marrow & it was great! The garlic rice was delicious as well & we end it with Turon Baklava with ice cream. Very flavorful & tasty with the banana chips, biscoff bits & pistachio. Definitely would come back here again. Service was fast but that's because we went on a Friday lunch so there wasn't much people but it was nice. The interior designs are very instagramable. I like the bamboo chairs & wall arts.

    Beef Kaldereta
    Muriel T.

First and foremost, the Cebuchon Sinigang is truly out of the norm--an original, never-before-seen dish that brilliantly blends Cebuchon with traditional Sinigang. Instead of the usual broth, it features a tangy, slightly sweet, tomato-based purée. It looked amazing and tasted even better. The flavors worked exceptionally well and were a very pleasant surprise. If recipes could be patented, this one definitely should be. The Beef Kaldereta was also excellent. It stayed close to the traditional version but was elevated by the addition of a Bleu potato purée at the bottom, which made the dish stand out. We originally ordered the Seafood Kaldereta but received the Beef instead. While that was a small service hiccup, we accepted it--and ended up really enjoying the dish--so it became an acceptable mistake. The restaurant itself had great décor and thoughtful table arrangements that elevated the overall experience. While the building looked older, it didn't feel run-down at all; everything was clean and appeared newly renovated. Parking can be a bit challenging due to the small lot, so street parking may be necessary. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be coming back.

Update: We finally made it back, this time for breakfast, and I just had to update my review because it was every bit as good as our first visit! We ordered the tocilog and adobo ribs. We also got an extra plate of the tortang talong with crab because we had to try it. My husband said their tocino is now one of his favorites, and that's saying a lot because he almost always orders tocilog whenever we go out for Filipino breakfast. I also loved the garlic rice. It was nicely seasoned and not greasy. I was so happy that their adobo wasn't sweet. It tasted like the adobo I grew up with. It would've been a perfect 10 if the meat had been just a little more tender, the kind that falls off the bone, but the flavor was delicious. Our favorite was the tortang talong with crab. It was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. The combination of the eggplant and crab was amazing! We also had the chance to chat with EJ, who gave us excellent service. During our first visit we wanted to try the turon, but it was sold out. When he told us they had it that morning, how could we resist? It's never too early for dessert, right? I'm so glad we ordered it. It was incredible. The delicate, flaky layers and the explosion of flavors made it a perfect 10. I used to bake, so I can appreciate how much work goes into making something like that. Before we left, we loved everything so much that we ordered the longanisa and bangus to go so we could try those too. We'll definitely be back, and next time we're bringing the rest of our crew. I also want to applaud the staff. Both times we've visited, the service has been warm, friendly, and outstanding.

The food is very good and creative. It is delicious and the portions are generous. The ingredients are well sourced and very fresh. The service is excellent. Its like visiting a Titas house in the Philippines. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. I'm so happy we met her . She told us the story of their restaurant and it was very interesting and entertaining. The place is nicely decorated and organized. The restroom is very clean and nice smelling. . I recommend visiting them and experiencing their hospitality. .,

WE had such a great experience at Inda & Mely. The food was honestly delicious, with a really unique Asian fusion twist that made everything feel a little different (in a good way). Every dish we tried had so much flavor and creativity behind it. The place itself is beautifully decorated--warm, inviting, and just a really nice space to relax and enjoy a meal. You can tell a lot of thought went into the ambiance. We were also pleasantly surprised with complimentary desserts and spring rolls, which were both so good and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with great food, a welcoming vibe, and thoughtful touches that made it even more special. Service was great too! Definitely worth checking out!

My most recent visit for lunch on a Saturday was very busy! The line was out the door but they move fast and the food comes out even quicker. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor tables where you sit wherever you. There is self service water with and without lemon throughout the location. Pros: Quick and friendly service Tasty lobster rolls, lobster chowder, and crab sandwiches Con: Parking is VERY limited. They have a small lot in the back and you can park against their fence but over the weekend it's almost impossible. There is street parking but also a little hard if you want to park directly nearby. I parked about 1.5 blocks away on the next street parallel to the restaurant. The naked lobster roll is one of my favorites because you can really taste the meatiness of the lobster. You can tell it is fresh in every way with the buttery brioche bread. The tray comes loaded with chips and a side of Cole slaw. If you come with friends, I recommend getting a bowl of the lobster soup to share. Dipping the chips into the soup is chef's kiss! If you are a smaller party, you can always get the 1/2 lobster roll and cup of soup. But the better deal is to get the soup to share on the side since the lobster roll is $39 vs the 1/2 lobster roll and cup of soup is $37. If choosing between the which lobster roll to get, I opt for the naked roll because of the freshness and it is not as heavy. The dressed lobster roll has a good amount of flavor and pairs well with the bread, it's a little heavier because of the mayo and butter brioche bread. They don't use a ton of mayo in it so it's not as bad as you may think. I've had the twin tails in the past and I can definitely say it was very easy to get the lobster out. Sometimes some places make it more difficult and people don't want to really dig in with their hands. Safe to say it was very easy to eat. Over the years, I've seen the price go up with inflation unfortunately. So I definitely still come but as a little treat to myself or if I were to come celebrate a special occasion.

I used the promotion on the website to get 2 free pounds of shrimp as well as the #7 combo (shrimp, mussels, crawfish). I got the combo in the super ultimate sauce. The flavor of the sauce was pretty good, and you get a lot of it in the bag. It was interesting because it had a bit of a tomato-y scent to it, almost like creamy spaghetti sauce, but it also reminded me of instant ramen flavoring (lol)?? I like that the sauce didn't taste as salty or as unhealthy as Boiling Crab's sauce, which has a ton of butter and leaves me chugging water afterwards. As for the seafood itself, the shrimp was good but a bit overcooked. My favorite part of shrimp is eating the heads, but these heads did not taste very good or fresh. Similarly, I got a few mussels that were closed which means they were dead before cooking and have to be tossed. I also wish they had a combo that was shrimp + mussels + clams because I don't really like crawfish. I do like that the combo comes with some sides, but the sausage pieces should definitely be bigger than some skinny slices. Overall taste of the bag was fine, and it was piping hot so seems like it was really freshly cooked when I picked up. Cajun Bowl hit the spot and I'm glad I have this option close to home!

The service was alright however the servers kept leaving us every few minutes and it took forever for them to take our order. We got the shrimp mac and cheese (spicy) and the 1lb of snow crab legs (mild) with the super ultimate sauce with an addition of sausage and broccoli. The shrimp mac and cheese was very delicious and the crab legs were large and meaty. While pretty good, the crab was a bit overcooked and the sauce we had gotten lacked a lot of flavour and was thick and pasty rather than seasoned well. The sausage was very good though. Overall the experience was quite nice but lacking in some departments.

Definitely come…read morehere with friends, order as much seafood as your heart desires, and prepare to get messy in the best way possible because everything absolutely slaps. The menu has so many great seafood options, especially if you're a crab lover. They offer a variety of different crab flavors, so there's a good chance you'll find one that fits your taste. The crab was flavorful, saucy, and so satisfying to dig into. They even give you bibs upon request, which honestly feels necessary if you're planning to go all in. The prawns were also a highlight. They were a decent size, cooked well, and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the garlic noodles, which were great and exactly the kind of buttery, garlicky carb moment you want with seafood. The green beans were a nice addition too and helped balance out the meal with something fresh and veggie-forward. The only thing I'd probably skip next time would be the raw oysters which didn't taste as fresh. Their fried chicken was delicious though! Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly, which made the whole experience even better. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better casual seafood feast. It was so good that my husband and I actually came back two days later just to get the fried chicken and crab again. That pretty much says it all.

This location in Millbrae is big and good for large parties. Parking around dinner time is always challenging but we always find a spot using some patience and circling. Food is not as good as it used to be but some dishes are still solid. One example is the peppercorn crab, a family favorite through many years. The tiger prawns were overcooked and the grilled pork was tough to chew. For seven of us, we got the special for six and added a couple of extra dishes. Service was also subpar because PPQ no longer offers fried banana with ice-cream. Dessert is just Mitchell's ice-cream on cones. We heard the table next to us get asked what flavors they wanted. Our dessert came with two of each of the three flavors offered, coconut, green tea and mango. The other disappointment was the server/restaurant couldn't even bring themselves to just comp us one extra cone seeing there were seven of us. For the price we paid, there are plenty of other better restaurants on the peninsula to give our business to.
