Food - ordered a ton of sushi and skewers. Sushi - chef's choice came with a variety of super fresh sushi. Salmon belly was a special and it was perfectly seared. Negihama roll was fresh and tasty. all the sushi was super good and fresh Skewers - ordered a variety of skewers from lamb, chicken and beef. The meats were perfectly seasoned and tender. You can choose to have it spicy or non spicy, which was nice since my bf eats spicy and I don't. Quail eggs were delicious Service - got seated pretty quickly and food came fairly fast. Ambiance - cute spot with lots of seatings, maybe 10 tables or so. Interior had a sushi bar as well for more cozy seating and overall was very clean and nice chill vibe.

My friend was coming to visit and my husband found this new place and asked us if we wanted to try it. Sushi and skewer sticks? What a weird combo! What was I thinking? It was a GREAT combo! The restaurant itself was super cute and the waitress was super friendly and helpful! The food was even better! I was blown away! All of us kept saying "mmm" as we bit into each different piece. Our favorite sushi roll was the Romeo and Juliet. We ended up ordering another one of those along with the 49er. Each of the skewer sticks were packed with flavor and everything tasted super delicious! I can't wait to come back to try the other stuff!

If you're craving both Chinese skewers AND sushi, this is your spot. The skewers are incredible and the sushi is a perfect match. Great food paired with really friendly service. One of our favorites is the beef tongue, wagyu beef, and eggplant skewers. Everything is so flavorful, and on this day we had the perfect oysters too. We'll definitely be back!

Got off late from work and it's 9:25 pm on a Friday night. Did I mention it's Friday and it's no meat because of lent? We were welcomed without hesitation. Why do I mention this? Well the restaurant closes at 10:00 pm, and they kindly accommodated. Mad props because I was hungweeeee and worked up an appetite from a busy shift in the ED. Service and staff are superb. It's just good vibes all around. The food was top notch and delicious. I was super satisfied and did my happy dance while eating. Not gonna lie I was kinda in a bad mood from my shift but after I ate I was in such a better headspace. Was I hangry? Nah, I did have a whack shift at work and eating hella top notch food fixed my attitude. Sushi and skewers ermagerd nom nom nom. If you haven't tried this place, stop lagging and come through! Hidden gem in San Bruno with quality food and genuinely excellent service.

Great restaurant near SFO airport. The food was excellent and the service was both quick and welcoming. I especially appreciated the variety on the menu--everything from skewers to sushi to noodle dishes--so there's something for everyone. A really solid spot if you're near the airport and looking for a good meal.

Loved this spot ! It feels completely different from what used to be here before. The new decor with the lit up signs inside gives the restaurant a really cool, authentic vibe and makes the whole experience feel fun and lively. Customer service was excellent from start to finish, and the food definitely delivered. The sashimi platter and ramen was the standout! The sashimi was fresh with generous portions and the ramen was comforting. Definitely a place I'd happily come back to.

Amazing traditional chinese BBQ skewers! Meat is hand prepped daily, grilled to perfection (not fried!) and we loved their secret seasoning blend! their wagyu, pork jowl, and chicken wings are the popular favorites! Also don't skip out on the Sushi - fantastic mix of fresh fish and a fantastic $33 Omakase special!

5 Stars - Fantastic food! Loved the delicious sushi and tasty Chinese-style BBQ here! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Great service and cozy atmosphere too. Highly recommend!

Great food at a great price! They checked on us consistently during our dinner and they are so nice! Will definitely come back here again when I'm in the area.

    Good but very small rolls.

Been here like 10 yrs ago. Looks like it changed owners recently so I figure I give it a try. The restaurant looks like its been updated. It was pretty empty last. Had a bunch of sushi rolls. Although it was good, but they were a bit small. It was priced reasonably I guess. $14.50 each. Would I go back? Probably not. The sushi rolls are just way too small compared to the place I normally go to. I pay about $16 there but the rolls are twice as big!

Grilled foods are great. Not only do they ask for your preferred spice level, but they also ask how savory you want it. I went with the normal savory level, but I think I would ask for low next time. Got the dragon roll too, not a lot of eels. Everything is seasoned well and cooked properly. Also has nice space and service.

    Agedashi Tofu.

We were in the neighborhood and found this place. Very clean. Parking can be a bit hard, but we got super lucky and got a space right in front. Sushi was fresh and prices are fine. Skewers were ok. We order a couple of different meats but they all had that powder mix flavoring on them. The chicken thighs were really good but the rest were a little tough. Service was Ok. They are Chinese.

This is actually a Japanese kaiseki style restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended as they do not take Walk-ins. There's two seatings for this restaurant so arrive promptly as they serve everyone at the same time . We started with the amuse bouche which was the kobachi three way. The three ways they served this was very unique. It was prepared with one steamed, one in soup and one fried. All were delicious! Next was the sashimi and it was also served with three different fishes. They did serve it with crostinis which was really good with the olive oil. We got the simmered yellowtail collar and the Toro skewers next. The yellowtail collar did have a lot of bones so I won't recommend this for older folks. It was very tender but a little on a salty side. I did like how it came out eggplants. The Toro skewers were also very tender but that wasn't my main dish. My friend enjoyed it very much. The dungeness crab chawanmushi was by far my favorite. It has a streamed egg and crab meat. They didn't skimp out on this dish it had a lot of crab in it. My next favorite dish was the kaki-age donburi which was a scallop and shrimp tempura. It was dust with a green tea sea salt I think. I wasn't able to eat it with the soup and I definitely wasn't able to eat it with the rice. By this dish I was already full. We also had the soju flight which was originally three flights but we added a fourth one . We got the yuzu. Lemon, strawberry and grapefruit orange. They were all good but the yuzu is the main winner! Since it was my bday , they turned off all the hours of the restaurant and everyone sang happy birthday to me. It was a little embarrassing but it added a little special touch. This was one of the best experience I've ever had at a Japanese kaiseki restaurants. The servers were so attentive. The food was creative and you can tell they spent a lot of time perfecting everything. They do change the menu every season so I'm excited to try their next menu when I come back.

Unfortunately, even though there weren't that many people - the service still feels uncomfortable because it's like the staff kinda ignores you because they're busy but then they also kinda check up on you and you're just left wondering. (this happens when trying to order and also when trying to pay ) And really unfortunately, the food wasn't as good by any standard as it was in the past. I'm not sure if it was a fluke, but the bento box (katsu, chicken katsu, and especially the chicken teriyaki) didn't hit that hard :( The Agedashi dōfu was definitely not great but tried it bc it's one of my favorites. We also got the Bashamichi special roll and the double Hamachi roll - which were alright too. (The wasabi here is on the weak side, but this doesn't affect the rating.) Overall, pretty "just okay" experience and sad that it wasn't as good as it was before :(

Japanese Curry, a sweet and mild curry, is very different from Indian and Chinese/Thai curry. Usually served w/crispy Tonkatsu and a cabbage salad, it can be hard to find. Waitstaff was brisk and courteous. Was advised to not order more than what I had...he was right. Had leftovers to take home! Ordered the signature ORIGINAL KATSU CURRY w/pork. Other option is chicken. Steamed rice in a Japanese eatery is always top notch, always perfect and generous in portion here. The Tonkatsu was crispy but a tad short of tender, but tasty enough to dip in the accompanying Japanese curry sauce. I might ask for the curry sauce on the side next time. Cabbage salad, traditionally a huge portion was a small offering cushioning the Tonkatsu. Accompanied by a small scoop of house made potato salad and pickled veggies. The hot Tonkatsu, steamed rice and Japanese curry sauce was a great combo for me, a very filling and satisfying meal! CH offers a tabletop varied selection of chili peppers: Pequin, Wiri Wiri, Ichimi, Jalapẽno, Orange Habanero. I did a light sprinkling of the traditional Japanese Ichimi pepper to add a touch of heat and that was fine. Signature ORIGINAL KATSU CURRY was a great start to this menu tasting. I'll be back to try their DOUBLE MENCHI CURRY, KARAAGE CURRY, ASSORTED VEGGIE CURRY, KATSU CURRY UDON. CURRY HYUGA BURLINGAME is also one of the few places that has Omurice on its menu. We've…read moretraveled quite a bit and tried sushi in many different cities, including around the Los Angeles area where we live and have our favorite spots. So when we visit a sushi restaurant, we tend to evaluate everything as a whole -- price, quality, service, and of course the flavors. For dinner we ordered the Mango Tuna Roll (which was our first time trying a mango-style sushi roll), the 8-piece Omakase Nigiri, a Double Toro Roll, two pieces of Otoro, and a hot sake. With a 20% tip included, the total for the two of us came to $163.50, which honestly falls within the average range of what we usually spend for a sushi dinner like this. Normally we might pay around $120-$130 depending on the place, sometimes a little more if we add an extra item or two. The portion sizes were pretty standard. Not unusually large, but not small either -- similar to what we've experienced at many other sushi restaurants. Where this place really stood out was the depth of flavor. The quality and balance of the ingredients were excellent. At one point I actually caught myself closing my eyes just to focus on the taste, which is something I almost never do. The preparation felt very refined and the flavors were elevated, rich, and memorable. I would describe it as delicate portions with very elevated flavors. Because of that, I'm giving this place 5 out of 5 stars. This is the kind of restaurant that works perfectly for a nice dinner with your partner. It's not necessarily a place where you go wild ordering everything on the menu like at a taco spot. Instead, it's better to be thoughtful with what you choose and enjoy a few well-crafted dishes. You can easily have a special, enjoyable dinner here without going overboard. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and want a quality sushi experience with refined flavors. The only thing I felt was missing was a small welcome miso soup. In some sushi restaurants we've visited, they serve a tiny cup of miso with a couple pieces of tofu as a warm welcome. It's a very small gesture, but it creates a nice first impression and adds a sense of hospitality to the experience. Considering the quality and pricing of the menu here, a simple welcome miso soup would fit perfectly with the overall dining experience.
