The owners and servers are really kind and attendant. I ordered the medium combo pho and my friend got the #53 rice plate which was massive. Both were delicious and better than Pho 2000 in SF. Definitely a hole in the wall spot and is a local favorite. Would come back if ever in the area.

The pho noodle broth is very very good. The beef noodle broth has a strong umami taste without it tasting oily or fat. Generous portions of meat and tendon. The meat slices feel thicker than most other pho restaurants. Fast and accommodating service. Lower your expectations for the ambiance as it feels very much like 1970's Vietnamese decor. The bathroom also is a bit, well, you can guess. Vegetarian noodles is very garlicky in a good way. Also very generous portions Spring rolls is good but if you don't like strong basil flavor you may want to pass. Would come again!

Decent Vietnamese food for this area, more considering how far other Viet spots are. The pho, bun rieu, bun bo hue hit the spot when have the cravings. Go here when comparatively similar distances. A plus is they have limited a la carte entrees like at regular restaurants. That is, could dine here family-style. The catfish claypot, for example, is one such item, though a bit on the sweet side. Same with their canh chua (Viet style sour soup). Just glad they carry these items often to have the option. The place is never packed as half of orders are from delivery apps. The tables turnover is also high as people eat and leave pretty quickly. Service is friendly and helpful if have questions or need suggestions. Note parking in the area is tough even with multiple metered spaces on both sides of the street. This is due to the multiple eateries and cafes and bars for blocks.

I'm done hidin', now I'm shinin' like I'm born to be..: gonna be gonna be golden". Just like Rumi from kpop demons hunters I'm done hiding my favorite Vietnamese restraint in sf. Pho Golden isn't in the greatest area where you're going to have to look for street parking because of the Saja Boys with their soda pop.. Every time I visit Pho Golden it's never busy so we've never had to wait to be seated. its so dead that when I close my eyes and imagine the restraunt I always see tumble weeds rolling around inside which is unfortunate because this place is absolutely great. I really enjoy the food here because it's authentic, it's budget friendly, and really fresh. The food comes out fast and the portions are huge. The pho is pretty good as the broth is very fragrant with a lot of flavor. they even sell Banh Xeo thats extra crispy on the outside and a little too over filled with bean sprouts in the middle. They tend to not put a lot of lettuce, and one time we tried asking for more they said no. However, my most recent visit we asked for an extra side of lettuce. they ended up saying yes and giving us more. Overall I've always had good experiences here and this is what it sounds like.

The pho is so good I forgot to take a picture! I ordered number 32: a solid beef combo. The beef meatballs and brisket were really good. I loved how flavorful the broth was too. Service was super quick for a Sunday night. I ordered a large bowl and it was quite a portion. I'd definitely make my way back here!

I've been searching for a good Vietnamese spot for delivery on those lazy days, and I think I finally found the place! My husband and I ordered the banh khot, Pho Tai Chin (steak and brisket pho), and the combination #1 rice plate (pork, fried egg, egg rolls, fried chicken, and rice). The food arrived hot and well-packed, and everything was full of flavor. The banh khot wasn't as crispy as I'd like, but that's to be expected with having it delivery - a quick pop in the air fryer and it came out perfectly golden and crunchy. The pho was really good too - savory , tender brisket and steak slices, and plenty of fresh herbs and toppings on the side. The combination rice plate might've been my fav - so much variety on one plate, and each item tasted great on its own. The pork was juicy, the fried chicken had a nice crunch, the egg rolls were flavorful, and the fried egg tied everything together. They also did not skimp on the meat, which I really appreciate. Overall I loved being able to get this delivered but I can only imagine how much better it will be when I come in to eat it fresh. Definitely a spot I'll be ordering from again!

Pho Golden hits the spot! The street parking requires a bit of a hunt but not impossible. I was greeted immediately as soon as I entered. The inside is what I'd expect from a family run pho restaurant (you know it's gonna be good!!). I got the large pho dac biet. Portions were generous and it was delicious! (Note: $15 order or above for credit cards). Super glad I found this spot. Will be back again for more pho if I'm ever in the area again.

Hands down the best pho I've had in a long time since moving to CA. Little home in the wall spot out of the big city (the area isn't the greatest lol) but the service was friendly, the broth was to die for and the portions were amazing! If you need a good bowl of pho go here!!

If you're craving authentic Vietnamese food, this place is a must-try! The Bún Bò Huế was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, the broth had great depth without being too heavy. The Bánh Khọt was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and served fresh, absolutely delicious! The prices are very affordable for the quality and portion sizes you get. On top of that, the service was friendly, welcoming, and impressively quick. The staff made me feel comfortable and checked in just the right amount. Great food quality, great value, and great service, we'll definitely be coming back!

Oh, they switched out Vietnamese cafes here. It used to be called An Chi, and I remember ordering greasy dumplings called Banh Khot Thit Nuong, which I remember were described as veggie mini-pancakes with BBQ pork. I wasn't a fan, but now it's more clearly a pho house. Smart move if you ask me because who doesn't like noodles and beef? Besides, I like supporting local businesses in the Excelsior because they don't get the love the Mission does. Having walked from the Mission, I was feeling quite peckish, so I ordered the $16.50 Large Pho Tai Chin, a big bowl of beef noodle soup with sliced steak and brisket. The meat slices were hearty, I took full advantage of the requisite trinity of basil leaves, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapeño to give the soup depth in flavor (Photo 10). The combination worked quite well together, and I was slurping until the cows came home. Pretty tasty and no dumplings in sight. FOOD - 4 stars...beef pho that satisfies, decent broth AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...spacious though on the sparse side SERVICE - 3.5 stars...quiet and unobtrusive TOTAL - 4 stars...good that they focus on the pho RELATED - Exploring the Outer Mission? Solid lunch spot. I live nearby so it's a good option. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, it's pretty standard Vietnamese. No wait on a Tuesday at lunchtime. They serve a pandan tea that is really tasty and lightly sweet. * Seafood crepe - 3 stars. Nice crisp, but shrimp didn't seem the most fresh. * Beef pho - 4 stars.

First of, I've been coming all week have been ordering the same dish. #35 pho with brisket and beef balls medium. The food has always been good. It's pouring outside today and I decided to get a large#35. The bowl came out to be the same size and when I was paying the cashier told me that the size they gave me was a large, so I proceeded to ask to see what a regular size bowl looked like for a comparison, he just persisted that mine was a large bowl and proceeded to to charge me for the large bowl and kept apologizing unable to show me what a regular size bowl looks like. I take photos of all the food I eat and the bowl size are definitely the same. Sound dumb for arguing over $1.50 but just give me what I paid for.... They were just arguing the entire time I was there out loud and a bowl of pho took 15 mins to arrive. I don't mind paying for what I ordered, but I refuse to be lied to. This will definitely be my last time here.

I actually discovered Que Viet through DoorDash and had everything delivered. I ordered the Deep-Fried Imperial Rolls (Cha Gio), Grilled Chicken & Chicken Imperial Roll Garlic Noodles (Mi Top Ga Nuong Cha Gio Ga), Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls (Nem Cuon), Vietnamese Shrimp Mini Crepes (Banh Xeo Tom), and the Grilled Pork Sausage & Sliced Pork Woven Vermicelli (Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong). Yes... I spent almost **$100 for two people**. Looking back at the receipt, I had to ask myself, *"Is this place expensive, or am I just fat?"* Honestly... probably a little of both. Either way, it was one of the best $100 I've ever spent. If it's your first time ordering from Que Viet, do yourself a favor and get the **garlic noodles**. I know garlic noodles are everywhere these days, but these completely changed my expectations. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible bounce, packed with rich garlicky flavor, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers (if you have the self-control). I also tried the **Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong** for the first time, and it did not disappoint. One heads-up, though: it's generously topped with crushed peanuts. My friend has a peanut allergy, so thankfully we caught it before digging in. If you have any nut allergies, be sure to mention it when ordering. Every single dish arrived fresh, flavorful, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen despite being delivered. That's not something you can say about many places. If you ever find yourself in the city, you **need** to make a stop at Que Viet. This place has been living rent-free in my head ever since, and I already know I'll be back the next chance I get.

Some dishes were better prepared than others, but overall, the food was solid across the board. If you enjoy making your own spring rolls, you'll love the grilled pork skewers. The pork is super tender and has such a incredible flavor profile of lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and more. Rolled up with the woven vermicelli noodles and fried wonton crisps in a rice paper, you get a wonderful combination of texture in a single bite. The other crowd favorite of the night was the bánh xèo -- the stuffed rice crepe. The bánh xèo here is by far the best one that I've ever had, even surpassing ones I had in Vietnam. The outside was insanely crispy and and was surprisingly not particularly oily, while the inside was loaded with fillings. Two other dishes that were well received by the group was the betel leaf wrapped grilled beef and the sugar cane shrimp. The beef had a very similar flavor profile as the pork, but the texture was a lot more lean. The shrimp had a bouncy, yet firm texture to it, and was very well-seasoned. My only qualm with the shrimp dish is that the sugarcane did not actually have any sweetness to it. There's fish sauce on the table along with a shrimp paste sauce, but to be honest, every dish we had was so flavorful on its own, the sauces aren't even needed. The only dish that we ordered that fell short was the grilled river shrimp. The presentation of the shrimp is impressive and very photogenic, but the flavor was lacking and the cook was inconsistent. Some people had shrimp that was undercooked -- borderline raw, and on the other end of the spectrum, others had shrimp that was so overcooked, that it was very difficult to remove the shrimp from the shell without completely tearing the meat. That said, everything else we ordered was well-prepared, and very tasty. Service was good throughout the meal, and I would definitely come back again for a meal with a large group. 4.5 experience rounding up to a 5.
