Great Vietnamese dishes! I would recommend the garlic noodles, banh hoi, and imperial rolls. The soups were okay (a little too salty). Service was quick and efficient. Chill place to catch up with friends!

I like this place. The ambiance is homey and cozy, friendly and food were delicious. It's a Viet Chinese owned restaurant and the menu is pretty large. I've had the "Banh Hoi" Woven Vermicelli. With pork sausage & grilled pork. And Ribeye Pho. The pho was decent, it was dark broth on the sweet side with taste of star anise and cinnamon. Ribeye were fresh and served on the side so it's entirely up to you whether you prefer to dip the rare ribeye on sriracha and hoisin separately (like me) or you like to mix and add the meat to the broth or maybe just swish swish (the sound and action of rapidly cooking the meat in the pot for 10-30 seconds before dipping it into savory sauces). However I highly recommend their woven vermicelli dishes. It's fun, you make your own wraps with the rice paper, dip in water, add meats vegetables and sauce and roll. Very fresh and fun. It' s a good neighborhood restaurant that serves Vietnamese comfort food at affordable prices.

Lunch special mini beef pho (comes with 2 pc imperial rolls) the broth here is SO good!

I stumbled on this restaurant last year while in mission bay for an appointment. The inside is really cute and modern and the service is attentive. Stopped in for lunch today and ordered the house favorites (imperial rolls, banh khot, banh xeo, shrimp spring rolls, and pot stickers), lunch special mini beef pho, and the garlic egg noodles with sea bass and pork. We shared all of it family style and every bite was so good! Previously I'd only tried the pho (my fave in the city), so this was a treat. The house favorite platter had such a good variety of things and the garlic noodles were so full of garlic flavor! I love this little viet spot.

This Vietnamese restaurant is 2-3 blocks away from the SF Caltrain station. We had dinner here prior to going to Chase Center. It is small but nice place, very accessible by public transit. The Muni light rail runs just in front of the restaurant. The food is delicious, freshly cooked and of good quality. We ordered the Fresh Shrimp rolls, Ban Xeo shrimp and Grilled Tiger Prawns Vermicelli. Servers are very attentive.

Super quick and service is very attentive, and affordable sit down right off the MUNI coming from downtown SF! Stumbled upon this place on a night out; parking is relatively easy on a Sunday with the streets being mostly clear. Que Viet offers your typical vermicelli bowls, pho, and even bun Bo hue (spicey noodle soup but please dont go here for that!) Restaurant space is very clean and well kept with some peaceful Vietnamese music strumming in the background. On to the foodie review! Grilled Pork Garlic Noodles Super filling portions coupled with a side of pho broth to pallete cleanse! Asian garlic noodles aren't your typical beat around the bush noods!! Full of umami, sweet, buttery and more-than-5 cloves of garlic goodness! Bun Bo Hue (not pictured) My friend ordered this and I got a sample of it!.... It's a short cut spicey pho broth. A true bun Bo hue has a subtle lemon grass sweetness paired with rock sugar as a base. Great dish if it was labeled as a spicey pho instead. Imperial rolls Deep fried to perfection I just wished it was worth its price point! ($12 for 3 full rolls) unfortunately they were out of pork for our visit so we had to opt for chicken and it was still as flavorful.

Woven Vermicelli with beef in betel leaves and shrimp / Banh Hoi Bo La Lot
    Catlynn N.

TLDR authentic viet food in SF Not a lot of places have first of all banh hoi which is this woven vermicelli and on top of that bo la lot which is beef wrapped in betel leaves. They even served mam tom (shrimp paste) sauce that was designed to be less strong and easily palatable. Typically the mam tom is too strong for most people. It was served with banh trang (rice paper) so we can roll it and it was amazing. The ambiance is quaint and prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of effort this dish takes. Would definitely go here again to get this same exact dish.

I visited on a Monday afternoon when looking for a late lunch option in the city - no lot, surrounding street parking only. I ordered the Beef Pho and my boyfriend ordered the Short Rib Pho -- we were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes, they were huge !! Only complaints were the price (~$20 each) and the fact that the short rib was a bit tough and was hard to get off the bone. Otherwise, the broth flavor was good and the amount of meat and noodles were very generous. This definitely satisfied the pho craving that I had, but not sure if it's somewhere I'd visit again as it didn't stand out. It is a solid choice if you're in the area and craving pho though!

I came across Que Viet while exploring the city on a chilly day, perfect pho weather. The restaurant is cute, cozy, and filled with natural light from all the windows. On my first visit, I ordered the spring rolls with shrimp and the chicken pho. I love how they use the thicker noodles, and the chicken broth was very flavorful. I went back again to try the beef tartare and the shrimp pho. The broth isn't really like traditional pho, but it's still very tasty. My only complaint is that both times the herb and green onion portions were a bit skimpy, and I had to ask for extra. Overall, I would definitely eat here again

We found this spot coming back from a game. It hit the spot but we felt the broth lacked some flavor of spices/aromatics. It definitely wasnt bland but perhaps needed additional time to cook for the flavors of the soups to fully develop. Great portions, friendly staff, the food was quick to come out, and the vibes were very chill.

It was super good! My whole family loved it, the spring rolls brought a new flavor to our tongues and we loved it. The service is also good they ask extra questions just to satisfy you and you can tell they put good work in their food. We found the restaurant by accident just by driving by and it was a good choice. I Would go back again. Son's first review, Dad approved.

    Lunch special

I wanted the lunch special to be tasty and comforting after my day on the jury. A bowl of warm noodles was just really what I felt like. So, I ordered the lunch special and jasmine tea. $21.00 for one. The pho broth was basically warmed water with no flavor. There were a couple of veggies and cabbage. I was disappointed. Inside is clean and the servers are so polite. Overall, I would return to try something else because service was good. It was just over priced for not being delicious.

ordered the appetizer platter at Que Viet, and it was perfect since I couldn't choose just one thing. It came with a little bit of everything fresh rolls, grilled meats, veggies, and dipping sauces--so I got to try a variety of flavors in one dish. Everything was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. The soup was solid too, with a rich, flavorful broth and plenty of toppings. It really rounded out the meal and made the whole experience even better. Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. If you're indecisive or want to sample a bit of everything, the appetizer platter is definitely the way to go!

    Duck and chicken garlic noodles
    Allison S.

I love the variety of dishes offered here. It's more than just your typical pho/garlic noodle type Vietnamese restaurant. I decided to try non soup based items. The grilled meats were all delicious and the duck breast was moist and not too chewy. I really liked all our dishes. The garlic noodle had a great garlic taste but was buttery and not dry like a lot of other places can make it. I wasn't sure which dish the rice paper was for but it was a fun experience and went great with a lot of different items. I did wish the service was a bit better. The food came out quick but no one ever came to refill water or asked if we needed anything. I definitely needed more napkins for how messy and hands on the dishes were. That being said, I'd definitely come back to try other dishes!

Pho is terrible. Grilled Sliced Pork Woven Vermicelli / Banh Hoi Thit Nuong is delicious

She surprised me with a reservation at Ox + Tiger and I was immediately impressed. The restaurant only seats 8 people, making the whole experience super intimate and personal. When Japanese and Filipino flavors come together, you get such a unique fusion cuisine inspired by chef couple Ej and Hatomi. Dinner was more than just a meal it was a 2 to 2.5 hour storytelling experience about their menu creations, how they met, and the grind behind keeping their dream alive. The menu changes monthly, so even if I told you what we had, you probably wouldn't get the same dishes unless you book now lol. It's a 3-course menu with optional add-ons, and definitely unlike any restaurant I've been to before. As a Filipino, I'll admit I can be picky with Filipino-inspired food because we grow up spoiled by our parents' cooking but this? I was genuinely impressed. Think familiar flavors recreated in their own creative and elevated way. Highly recommend.

Situated in a small, 8 seat counter, dinner is intimate with dishes being prepared right in front of you. The menu features three courses, an appetizer, main, and a dessert - with the option for an additional add-on. Our meal featured a focus on fish, in particular mackerel and monkfish. Each of the dishes were deconstructions of familiar concepts such as Caesar salad and a California roll, but enhanced with new flavors. The mackerel was sublime, perfectly charred exterior with a still raw interior. The monkfish was tender, coated in a ginger, wasabi sauce next to crispy sweet rice and avocado. The dessert was by far the most unique, being a miso dashi, mushroom cherry coated coconut ice cream with a tupig-like mochi on the side. The savory, sweet, sour combination completely catches you off guard but becomes increasingly addictive the more you eat. So bold and absolutely memorable. Ox&Tiger takes familiar concepts, breaks them apart, then fuses them back together with a flair of Filipino and Japanese flavors. This results in dishes that are utterly unique and innovative. Additionally, with menus and playlists designed by family, this truly feels like the epitome of a family-run business and a meal cooked with so much care in front of you. This is absolutely worth a visit and an opportunity to try new flavors you've never experienced before.

Even before this most recent visit, I'd enjoyed intimate dinners here for its creative, Korean-Thai-inspired menu that always packed an impressive punch of flavor but, dare I say, the brunch might be even better. The steak sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, with the steak seasoned and cooked to perfection and pairing beautifully with the charred onion aioli, plus a side of expertly crisped smashed potatoes that were so addicting. The steamed mussels were sumptuous and packed with umami, and I loved the two large bricks of toasted sourdough focaccia that were perfect for sopping up every last bit of the delicious dashi broth. But the pièce de résistance was the custard French toast, which I can only describe as the love child of bread pudding and tres leches cake as it was crispy on the outside but uber moist on the inside, custardy, and simply divine. Kothai will be deeply missed in the neighborhood, but I'm excited to see what's next for chef/owner Sung Park and will be first in line for whatever future project comes next.

It seems like this place is an asian fusion brunch place incorporating french dishes into thai/asian themed dishes which is up our alley. We made a reservation at 1:45 PM and we had to wait for about an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. Initially, I wanted to try their crab fried rice but unfortunately they were out of crab. We decided to get the Alcatraz Escape and the Brioche french toast which were recommended by the wait staff. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating but I can tell they were swamped and stressed out with all the people they were trying to serve. The food itself tasted decent, the Alcatraz Escape had a tasty flavor which incorporates tom yum paste (sweet, sour, tangy flavor) into their scramble with about 4 shrimps. The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. For two dishes as a side we paid around $78 with tax and tip.
