Was super tasty, popped over here for a work lunch while a bunch of us were in the office. Reservations were super easy! Service was 5 stars and food came out quick and tasty.

What a treat! Exceptional service! Not only did we get seated right away. As soon as we ordered, the food came out within a few minutes! Everything complemented each other. The place is beautiful with traditional Lao atmosphere. Rich vibrant colors. Full bar! Lots of amazing cocktails. Will def be back!

LOVE this place!! It's honestly so rare to find Lao food that feels this high-quality and truly authentic. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. Their happy hour platter deal is such a steal, it comes with oysters, sausage, chicken wings, and calamari, and the cocktails are only $7 (beers even cheaper). Amazing value for how good the food is. The vibe is always lively, and the staff are consistently warm and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. Pro tip: go with a group so you can try more of the menu. I also love that many dishes come with fresh leafy greens so you can wrap everything - it adds the perfect fresh crunch and makes the meal even more fun and delicious. Definitely one of my go-to spots for great food and good vibes! My favorite dishes are the platter, fried rice, crispy spring rolls with leafy greens, papaya salad, and so much more :)

I came with a friend on a weekend night on the later side and there were not many people inside. It's a nice environment right in FiDi, and the plates are beautifully decorated for sure -- but I unfortunately didn't really love the food, We got a coconut curry which had good flavor but the meat inside was a bit too sinewy and also it was small portion size-- we kind of finished it in a few bites. As you can see, the leaves take up half the plate. We also got a bamboo salad and was excited to try it but I honestly couldn't eat much of it, was actually very spicy and also the raw vegetables on the side wasn't the most appealing. I assume some other things on the menu are better but definitely wasn't our day. My friend and I both agreed that the service was friendly but the food was so-so and overpriced for the sizes

Service was friendly and efficient. Wait time after ordering was quick! Especially on a busy Friday night. The food was tasty and beware of spicy. Medium spicy was spicy for me. Ambiance is clean and busy. Fun spot after work.

Ive been here twice and I want to love this place! But not everything on the menu is a hit They have a great happy hour menu if u can make it in time, and I recommend going the family-style option because some dishes are very small. Highlights: - spicy crispy rice appetizer: this was a hit! it is VERY spicy though as someone who can tolerate alot! But its a great sharing size for a group of 2-4 people - the fried fish is crispy and delicious with a great sauce. But there is not that much meat on the fish itself - the tom yum is a bit watery and does not have a strong flavor, but it comes out on an open flame and is very shareable - the curry rice portion is super super small for the amount of curry that is provided. We had to get an extra rice. The curry is not super spicy and did not have as much depth of flavor Overall, I would come again but just for the crispy rice appetizer!

We came here on Friday night for dinner. We had a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. Service-wise, our server was very friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. The ambiance was lively and loved the decor. We ordered: - "Tang-Mo" Watermelon Peanut Salad - I was initially skeptical about the combination, but I ended up really liking this! The juiciness and slight sweetness of the watermelon, really played will with the sightly sour and flavorful sauce, which made it taste very good! - Garlic Wings - It was pretty good, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside and flavor was good, but nothing too out of this world. - Khaw Kai Noodles - The noodles were delicious and after adding the sauce, it really set off the taste very well. The chicken was also delicious and flavorful. - Spicy Thai Basil Chicken - Flavor-wise, this was delicious, but when we got it, the dish was not very warm or very spicy, which was a bummer. Overall, we had a great time and will be back in the future to try more items from the menu!

This place absolutely exceeded my expectations. The place is primarily Vietnamese but you would find Thai flavours. Such a wide variety of items in here - and everything is finger licking good. I absolutely had a feast here. I got Chicken Friend rice and it was good - not the best but above average. For the table fish platter was also exquisite. I can't recall which fish was that but it was really great..it also came up with so.many other item such as chicken wings. The seafood sizzling tom yum probably tasted the best. Thoughly enjoyed it. The Belgian beer they server was one of the best. In isolation probably every food I tried, I can find a better and slightly tastier version but a single place delivering and maintaining above average food quality over such a wide spectrum is rare. The ambience and environment was great. The place became super noisy later in the evening but it was so much fun dining out here.

We came for lunch midday on a Friday and were sat instantly! The space inside is huge and the ceilings are so tall, it was the perfect place for a nicer lunch to catch up with coworkers. I was a little worried based on other reviews that the portions would be small for the price, but I was pleasantly surprised when our dishes came and the portions were MASSIVE! The rice dishes came with 2+ cups of rice and my Pad Mee Lao Prawns was enough for 2.5 meals. Flavor was great as well - nothing mind blowing but I was definitely happy with what I got. And on Fridays, they have happy hour all day. We didn't get anything off of the happy hour menu, but I would definitely try coming for happy hour next time.

Service was quick and efficient. Portions were quite small for the price. Chicken satay with peanut sauce was my favorite. Pineapple fried rice was delicious. The "Curry" wild duck did not taste anything like curry at all. It was more like wild duck with OIL. Mango sticky rice and shaved ice was good. We kind of wished there was more mango sticky rice than the shaved ice.

The ambiance is beautiful and inviting. I love the decor and soft purple and pink lighting. The restaurant is great for groups as you can order large platters of the samples - trying a bit of everything whether meat or seafood. We ordered the Garden Fish - Crispy whole tilapia, Lao sausage, beef jerky, garlic chicken wings, peanut papaya salad paired with vermicelli, sticky rice, leafy greens and soft herbs. We also ordered the Original Lao Platter: fried chicken, larb duck Pakxe, "Tom Zaab" hot & spicy beef soup, Lao sausage, pad mee Lao paired with sticky rice and soft herbs. It was enough to feed six! Service was a little slow - you really have to get their attention because it's so busy. But they did a nice dessert presentation for my mom's birthday. Also try the Tom Yum Beer that was brewed in partnership with the restaurant!

Came here for lunch before catching a bus at the transit center next door. The restaurant is spacious, and the staff were quick and attentive. I ordered the noodles & chicken, and wasn't overly impressed. The noodles were soggy and I found there were too many bean sprouts in the dish. The flavors were also pretty flat, without much spice or variety. The prices were also on the higher side, even for SF. Definitely not a bad place, but I think the prices would turn me away from coming back.

Is the menu for lunch and dinner the same, or does lunch have a smaller offering?

    How busy on weekdays?

I went on a weekday and the place was not busy. If you have a large party I would recommend calling to make a reservation.

Is it easy to find parking?

There's a parking garage across the street in an alley.

Does Lao Table have Keto friendly options?

Absolutely! They have many meat/poultry dishes (over veggies, for example).

    Is kids friendly?

There are no particular efforts from the restaurants to entertain kids. Most of the diners are adults. The food has a kick, which might be a little bit too spicy for kids.

How bad is the wait time for lunch on weekends?

If you make a reservation you are all set and it isn't hard to make one even the day before. Great restaurant!

Do they still have the $1.00 oyster happy hour?

Yes! Every Monday to Friday 16:30 to 19:00.

We spent the hours exploring the area nearby, so the "wait" went by relatively fast. When we were finally seated, the service was very prompt and fast. We started off with fried oyster mushrooms. The taste was very addicting and you always end up craving for another piece the moment you finish one. We ordered three dishes including duck breast red curry, steak fried rice (apparently the rice was also cooked in beef fat), and noodle with fried chicken. My favorite was easily the steak fried rice. In terms of all the rice dishes I've had, this was by far one of the top rice dishes I've had. I single handedly ate almost half of it myself. Extremely savory and cooked very well. For dessert, we got their famous butter kaya toast with coconut ice cream. I was already super full from the food earlier, barely had enough room for dessert, but had to force myself to take one final bite before I died in food coma. The dessert was also very tasty, but for me it was the fried rice that stole the show for that night. Overall the wait time here is horrendous, but if you are able to find something to do during the long wait period and is okay with getting a late dinner, then this place is definitely worth it. I don't think I've ever had a Thai restaurant with such unique flavor profile as this one. That being said, if you do mind the wait, then this place is not for you since the waitlist is always inevitably very long. Parking here is also terrible, so street parking is your best bet.

But on this 6th or 7th visit, we decided to take a chance to see if we can get in. We arrived at 4:15 PM on a week night and were told a 12 minute wait. Don't believe them. The restaurant was completely filled when we arrived. The 3 of us were finally seated in a table really meant for 2 about an hour later. Service to take your order was a tad slow. But they were quicker to give you your bill at the end so they can seat the 3O+ folks in the wait list after us. No one checks on you after all your food has arrived We ordered 4 dishes including one of their limited entrees , the soft shell crab. It was good. The duck breast in curry sauce was good too. Hubby especially enjoyed the short rib over rice which is one of his fav dishes there although the meat was under seasoned but tender. We always order the fried papaya salad. Unlike in the past, the dish today was clumpy with areas inside softer and not completely crispy. We were very full and skipped the sole dessert, Kaya toast with ice cream, but have tried it many times before. Good meal, virtually no service to check on you when they are you crowded and busy. Food wasn't as consistent than during less busy days but acceptable.

I only knocked the restaurant down by a star because the servers were pretty pushy with wanting us to leave despite the multitude of empty tables around us. Besides that, the food is really delicious. The papaya salad is amazing if you like spice! There was a great kick and acidity to the papaya salad distributed throughout the fresh vegetables in the dish. I highly recommend! The pumpkin fries were also a great choice: crispy fry with soft pumpkin inside, maintaining the overall pumpkin flavor profile. The sauce they provide on the side (sweet and sour plum sauce), cut through the fry but didn't overwhelm the pumpkin itself. For myself, I got the yellow curry with chicken. The curry dishes do not come with rice, so you will have to order that on the side. The curry is not only a generous portion, but FULL of ingredients. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

Spiced well and very filling. We didn't expect the pork to be cut so large and mixed into the rice, but it was very tender and easy to still eat. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish. Filling portions and did not overcook their noodles. You can taste each component of the dish, which speaks to everything not being under or overcooked. We ordered nuts on the side but you would be quite satisfied ordering this if you like pad thai! 4.5/5 - Pad Gra Prow - Appropriate veggie to beef proportion and very flavorful. Minced well and great to complement with your carb dishes (noodle or rice). We thought the dish was slightly oily but it feels well absorbed when eaten with our pad thai. If you have tried the dish before and would like it, this will be satisfactory!

Appetizers- Shrimp Spring Roll: it was pretty good actually. The stand out for me was the peanut sauce. Absolutely delicious. Overall, 8/10. Entrees: got the crab fried rice to share. The flavor was really good. It didn't have too many of the crab pieces though. I would give it a solid 7/10. Also ordered the green curry with roasted duck, which comes with a side of jasmine rice. The curry was good and the duck was tender. I'd give it a 8/10. I would come back here to try other items on their menu. TBH very reasonable pricing and good value since the portions were generous.
