Lucky Chances' restaurant is another Bay Area/City Rite of Passage. The food quality isn't Michellin stars but it is home cooked food. I'll paint the picture of this City staple. You will find yourself here 2am hammered after a night of galivanting. Someone randomly would go, "....Lucky Chances??" And everyone just looks at each other seeing doubles of each other and go "HELL YEAH - I'd fuq up some longonisa right now" Mainly because this is the spot that is typically open this late after a night bender. I haven't ordered anything else from here that isn't Filipino so idk about the rest. The servers are all really nice and can get busy so don't be shy to flag em down. I like the loco moco, longanisa, corned beef. They're always out of the arroz caldo and it pisses my wife off. Its just bad timing. We go here now for brunches/breakfast since we are all partied out. Just went here to get my Filipino food fix! They cooked everything so well it's like I was eating at my family's house. I ordered the Tosilog which is tocino (marinated pork), garlic fried rice and an over easy egg. It also comes with tomato and a vinegar sauce which pairs so well with the whole dish! I also ordered pork short rib sinigang which is my absolute favorite Filipino dish. It was very good with rice! We ordered a bunch of other dishes like bangus sisig which is a milk fish that's sauted with vegetables, very delicious! Lechon kawali, very yummy and crispy! Bulalo soup that hit the spot! They're open 24 hours so it's always a great place to grab grub especially if you're driving down to south bay after a night out in the city! We got the crispy pata (deep fried pork knuckle) which is easily shareable. Tender, melt in your mouth and easy to serve! It comes with two sauces to dip with, sawsawan (dipping sauce, tangy calamansi vinegar) and a lechon sauce (brown sauce for fried goodness!) I also got a Tosilog (riceplate with cured pork)! The amount of garlic rice they gave was SO FILLING and very aromatic night I add. Very affordable and will get you easily full. These rice plates can also be enjoyed for breakfast with any egg preferences! I'll be recommending this to any Bay Area transplant to checkout this timeless restaurant! read more

Ordered steak and shrimp. What a disappointment. My steak did come out medium rare as requested but for paying over $40 including tax is complete robbery. I thought it the food was decent; something I can easily make at home of course and even better at that. Either way, it was good and definitely a must during the late night. It also comes with a small cup of vinegar which pairs great with silogs. The Filipino menu had lots to offer which is a plus. They also have classic American breakfast style food as well as Chinese food. It's a mix of dishes here but it provides options for people. The prices are pretty expensive here ranging from $15-$25. Been eating here late nice since the early 90's. Last time I was here was in 2021 and it wasn't the same. The tocino seemed soggy, which was odd, because it's never come out like this for me in all these years of patronage. Today we went and it was good. Just like all my prior experiences. The atmosphere here is still family orientated and they take to familiar faces. Hence my cousin comes here so much, that they call him nephew and ask him where he's been lately - LOL! Tried some the salt and pepper fish filet and its exactly as having the salt and pepper wings but with tarter sauce. We cleaned our plate super fast, like it was an appetizer. Crispy Pata is always a hit for us regardless what time of the day it is. Spaghetti is always spot on and they never mess it. After cruising through Union Square, Pier 39, etc in this cold rainy night we decided to come here. He told me a fact on our way here that there are more dead people here than alive. When it comes to food I will say this place is indeed 5/5 stars. The service is always fast, place gives you a very well old school diner vibe and the food is always spot on. Price maybe is high basically will run you $50 bucks plus if it's two of you but one of you will just be about $25 plus minimum for food. The review is more so geared towards gameplay. Played and lost, won, and even out at the end of the play. My issue is the dealer specifically. I played on an empty table and the table has a dealer and supervisor. I played my hands and everything was normal. I'd lose, win, and lose. I begin having a good run and win most of my hands. The dealer then began dealing aggressive in a way he was emotionally invested. I paid no mind at first and am there to play and I can't be doing anything "advantageous" when he's dealing from a CSM. Every time I won he threw the chips at me. I didn't care at first but then he began throwing it more and more often. I decided okay I'm just gonna piss this guy either way so I did something against the book. I split tens. He was like "what?! Really?" I said split em. The dealer would later reveal his cards and pull card after card. Dealer tried to take my money and say he won the hand. The supervisor would later state "What are you doing? He won. You busted." This dealer was pissed and he counted my winnings and threw it at my direction. I literally just internally laughed but still tipped and left. The second game I played. Baccarat and I won 3 hands but played with one of my friends who is not Filipino but the dealers were. The dealer and supervisor were literally saying the most horrendous things in Tagalog about my friend. Because he was focused on the game and was winning most to all hands. I literally won 3 hands just betting the same bets he was betting. I felt so weird and wrong that I just left and cashed in my chips. All in all I'd say the place is a great card club casino. Sure you have to pay $1 dollar for every gameplay but I would really recommend for this place to get better dealers or boost their pay or something. Our money as players or degenerates are already being taken. Why not just have fun while we're there then feeling as if we ruined your day playing on your table.
