this place has such a special place in my heart. from late nights to early mornings, the cafe always has you covered. I've come here sober, hungover, drunk.. name it. And it hits every time! (I'm going off memory here, so the rice cereal might be incorrect. just order it, you won't regret it!). soft scrambled egg with shrimp and rice this is in the rice plates section on the menu (I had to look it up, I never noticed it before). the sauce was slightly sweet but the meal was completely destroyed. fried chicken I mean; never thought it would be GOOD, but my boyfriend was so adamant about me testing it.. and it's delicious. crispy skin (almost like chips), juicy, flavorful, and with mangtomas sauce!! longsilog my tried and true? ugh, the suka too (vinegar), incredible. garlic rice? always a huge and delicious portion. god I miss it. bangus sisig bang-oose. milkfish for those that don't know. ugh, the jalapeno, tomato, lime!! and the flavor on this? It's like this place stood still in time after revisiting 25 years later. I love that this place is open 24/7 and the menu has your favorite Filipino foods and more. I don't remember it being this expensive but that's inflation for you. It's like your aunties, uncles, lolos and Lola's are working here. Our server was super nice. We ordered the longsilog with a side of tocino. Skip the lumpia Shanghai which is not worth it six pieces for $12. It happened again someone went to Claudine, she said they were regulars and used to playing "loose." Staff don't make eye contact and they all look miserable. We sat down and waited 25 minutes before anyone ever came by to take our order or even offer water despite the fact that servers were just standing around. We almost walked out. Lucky Chances' restaurant is another Bay Area/City Rite of Passage. The food quality isn't Michellin stars but it is home cooked food. I'll paint the picture of this City staple. You will find yourself here 2am hammered after a night of galivanting. Someone randomly would go, "....Lucky Chances??" And everyone just looks at each other seeing doubles of each other and go "HELL YEAH - I'd fuq up some longonisa right now" Mainly because this is the spot that is typically open this late after a night bender. I haven't ordered anything else from here that isn't Filipino so idk about the rest. The servers are all really nice and can get busy so don't be shy to flag em down. I like the loco moco, longanisa, corned beef. They're always out of the arroz caldo and it pisses my wife off. Its just bad timing. We go here now for brunches/breakfast since we are all partied out. I'm always too intimidated to go onto the gambling floor because you just see the old heads that have been there all week give ya a look like, "this has been my seat por 25 years". There's underground parking too. also parking across the street if it gets crowded for all yall gambling heads. I'm giving it a max rating only due to it being a City staple. I ordered the Tosilog which is tocino (marinated pork), garlic fried rice and an over easy egg. It also comes with tomato and a vinegar sauce which pairs so well with the whole dish! I also ordered pork short rib sinigang which is my absolute favorite Filipino dish. It was very good with rice! We ordered a bunch of other dishes like bangus sisig which is a milk fish that's sauted with vegetables, very delicious! Lechon kawali, very yummy and crispy! Bulalo soup that hit the spot! My friends also ordered Bangsilog and longsilogs which were very good as well. They have American and Chinese food options as well. Only weird thing is the location since it's connected to a long time casino that's been around since I was a kid. This place gets very good business still though! A staple in Daly City for big portions of comforting Filipino food! The restaurant (cafe Colma) is within a casino but everyone knows that when you say lucky chance, it's just the restaurant haha! They're open 24 hours so it's always a great place to grab grub especially if you're driving down to south bay after a night out in the city! We got the crispy pata (deep fried pork knuckle) which is easily shareable. Tender, melt in your mouth and easy to serve! It comes with two sauces to dip with, sawsawan (dipping sauce, tangy calamansi vinegar) and a lechon sauce (brown sauce for fried goodness!) I also got a Tosilog (riceplate with cured pork)! The amount of garlic rice they gave was SO FILLING and very aromatic night I add. Very affordable and will get you easily full. These rice plates can also be enjoyed for breakfast with any egg preferences! I'll be recommending this to any Bay Area transplant to checkout this timeless restaurant! read more

The servers are all nice and you can tell they love their Jobs, also most of them have been there for a long time. Came here for the late night munchies after a good night in the city with my bro-in-law. He told me about this place and we came around 10-11pm. I thought it the food was decent; something I can easily make at home of course and even better at that. Either way, it was good and definitely a must during the late night. It also comes with a small cup of vinegar which pairs great with silogs. The Filipino menu had lots to offer which is a plus. They also have classic American breakfast style food as well as Chinese food. It's a mix of dishes here but it provides options for people. The prices are pretty expensive here ranging from $15-$25. Our midnight adventure took us to Lucky Chances.. an outdated casino in NorCal that makes you feel like you've traveled to the late 80s or early 90s. Why did we come here?? My husband has been here a few times he said back in the days after clubbing in the city apparently. Lol. After cruising through Union Square, Pier 39, etc in this cold rainy night we decided to come here. He told me a fact on our way here that there are more dead people here than alive. I was like uhhh...didn't need to know that. The restaurant is very dated and there is nothing appealing in this casino or restaurant. I wish we kept driving somewhere else. We were seated at a table that had a bunch of dirty napkins under the table on the floor, a dirty fork, and some food. Wth. As soon as we sat, a minute later the rude Filipino sever asked what we wanted. Of course I wasn't ready since this was my first time here. She rudely huffed off and walked away. We hurriedly scanned through the menu ready to order the next time she checked on us. She was rude, short, and put out very bad vibes. Seriously, why work here if you're so miserable. Perhaps try to fake being a little nice. She nor any of the female workers tried. I wanted to get out of there so fast. The food was terrible. I could have opened some canned corned beef and heated it up myself. The meat was hard and overcooked. I don't even "cook" like this. It was terrible and pricey.
