Very unique and pretty fun experience. Never been to an arcade that offers interactive and simulation rides before. Start off by putting a certain amount of money into their gama ride cards. I noticed that games typically cost around $1-3 while their rides range around $7-10. You can swipe for games until the money you put into the card runs out. Gama Ride is one of my new favorite arcade spots and a great place to spend time with friends, loved ones, or even on a date with your significant other. It's located on the opposite side of the skating rink and is easily accessible. I love that the arcade is spread across multiple areas and floors instead of being one large flat space. The different levels make it fun to explore, and you're always curious about what other games are waiting upstairs or around the corner. I also noticed several games I hadn't seen before, including The Voice karaoke room, which was a fun and unique touch. There's also an entire floor dedicated to billiards, priced at $5 per game, which I really enjoyed. They offer food and alcoholic drinks, making it easy to spend a few hours here without needing to leave. The space was well-maintained and clean, which I truly appreciate. We came in after a visit to Lazy Dog to check out the gaming offerings. While not as large as we were expecting, the variety of games was enough to keep us entertained and willing to come in from time to time. They have arcade games, bumper cars and bowling for kids, and simulators. My family is obsessed with Gama Ride! We've been coming at least once a month since it opened because it's just that much fun. There's truly something for everyone--kids, adults, and all ages in between. My six-year-old sister, who has endless energy, and my 19-year-old sister with Down syndrome both have an absolute blast every time we visit. Went here for a double date while the kids were at an event nearby, and it turned out to be the perfect spot to hang out. We were just looking for a quick bite and a beer, but this place exceeded our expectations. The retro arcade vibe is awesome, with video games, pinball machines, pool tables, simulator rides, and even prize games for kids. It's incredibly spacious, super clean, and it's clear they're always keeping the bathrooms spotless. The food didn't disappoint either. We had Sliders, Fish and Chips, and Pizza--everything was delicious, and the fries were cooked to perfection. The bartender was excellent--great personality and truly went the extra mile. He even came upstairs to check on us and grab our empty plates and glasses, which was such a nice touch. We capped off the night with some pinball and Street Fighter, which made it even more memorable. My only complaint is that the joystick for Street Fighter wasn't very responsive, which made playing a little tricky. I booked my son's birthday party for both of their party rooms. 1.5 hours each. I really wanted to give 5 stars because the owner was incredibly friendly along with the staff. The venue was huge with it's own bar and kitchen. Most importantly, my guests were very complimentary of the variety of games and premium rides. The venue has rules about no outside food. This makes sense since they want to highlight their kitchen. I don't recommend if you're like me and would love to bring in specific food you usually enjoy at family parties (lumpa, pancit, and etc). You can bring your own non-alcoholic drinks though. We only had their pizza and our own desserts. The bigger room can probably accommodate 40 people comfortably and the smaller room about 20 people. I booked our go-to decorations experts (outside vendor) to highlight our child's theme party. The vendor was only allowed 15 minutes to set up prior to the event due to small amount of time between parties. I recommend not hiring a decorations company to do this, because the venue is really strict with cleaning up and removing decorations 30 minutes before the end of your booking. For instance, we booked from 1-2:30PM. We were told to start removing decorations by 2PM and immediately had to be out by 2:30PM because of another party coming in at 3PM. Basically, we had about 1 hour (1-2PM) to enjoy and relax in the rooms. With the short amount of time between parties, it makes sense. Lesson learned when booking parties here. Recommendations for future party goers as a parent booking different venues for my kids' birthdays the past 9 years: 1. Keep it simple. No fancy decorations. 2. Have your food delivered immediately. Unfortunately, I scheduled the food to be delivered 30 minutes into the schedule. It came in a little before 40 minutes. We literally had 20 minutes of relaxed eating before having to clean up and rush to get our things out. We ended up having to cut the birthday cake and pass them out in to-go boxes because we didn't have time to just sit and eat. 3. Tell guests to eat and play throughout your scheduled time. Don't waste time to have all guests eat at the same time. 4. Guests don't have to leave the arcade area at the end of the schedule. They can stay and stilly play, but all guests need to be out of the party rooms immediately. Overall, the kids had and fun. That's all that matters right now. It's a lot easier to just be a guest, so I'll definitely visit again to play some games with my kids. read more

Was a little hard to figure out where to go in to access the arcade. I would have loved better signage however I believe that is a bridgepoint issue not a them issue. Super impressed with how clean everything is. My kids raved that it is much better than Dave and busters which is a huge accolade. The acoustic is not bad meaning that it doesn't echo as bad as David busters for people who have sensory issues this is very important. I cannot stand to go to that place, however I will definitely be back here. I may still wear my loops but at least it will not be somewhere that I immediately feel the need to leave. They were running a promotion that if you put $50 on a card you get $60 to spend. Works well for what we needed and we ended up refilling cards (2 @50 each) which was great. I got to see videos from an interview Impression Promotions, Jessica R did which convinced me to come check it out. She raved about your family and how much work it took y'all to get here and I cheer you on! She sits on the board of directors for the Foster City Chamber of Commerce which is the whole reason I came. I hope they join the Foster City Chamber of Commerce as well. I would love to have a fun mixer or event here. The food was fresh and fast. The bartender could have been a little better in terms of approachability but was not terrible enough that I didn't want to order, just kind of stand offish at first. Ordered 3 orders of chicken tenders, the sliders which were actually really good, Fish and chips and drinks. I didn't get photos as all of it got inhaled and the fries are actually extremely delicious which is hard to find anymore. It's not clear if the sodas are refillable however after asking the bartender it appears they are for the first refill only which is perfect for our needs. He appeared to warm up a lot after we had been here for a bit. They had just opened which may be why he seemed off at first. It would be nice when you first come in and if you've never been here before that there was some kind of map detailing where things were. The guy at the front did explain there was bowling and stuff upstairs but it did not say if we needed to purchase that separately or anything we just had to figure that out on our own. I appreciated the bar-recreational games that was offered at their Tanforan location, so I was excited to visit their new location for the first time. The space was well-utilized and was quite clean. The old Hokkaido front desk and stairwells are still there, but the placement of games looked to be quite intentional, especially the billiards and bowling. The arcade games felt a little more catered to the younger crowd compared to a Dave and Busters or Round 1, and this showed with how many young kids were running around. I like their pinball selection with many new-gen cabinets. The price per round is comparable to pinball/arcade museums around the area. My highlight is the shuffleboard, which definitely could use some maintenance and suffers from a levelling problem. But its a high-quality, full-length table that is offered at an extremely fair price. The billiards are not full sized, and they are charging an exorbitant amount ($5/round). We played one round for feel, but I can't see myself playing it until the price matches the shuffleboard/darts prices, or they charge an hourly rate. However, they offer many new 2-piece pool cues that have a solid weight (yet, there is not chalk in sight). The darts was my go-to in their Tanforan location, but it seemed like an afterthought. One machine is placed in front of a pillar, and there is no regulation markings of the foul line. The arcade is a great addition to the Bay Area, and I can see the perk it offers to young families. I would set this arcade about D&B just because of the recretional games, especially the duckpin bowling. But the quality of arcade games doesn't quite match up against Round 1, and unless the prices and and items change, it might be hard for gama to compete. But I am pulling for them! read more

This place, is, amazing. Gamma Ride is to Dave and Busters what a 2025 Audi is to a 2000 Volkswagen Bug. The bug will still serve the purpose of getting you from point A to point B but the Audi makes an experience out of it - but for date nights. The stand alone games were great. The more expensive rides (I forgot what it was called) was GREAT. We did the Dino Ride and it far exceeded our expectations. The mini bowling was so much fun. The whole vibe was better. read more

The owner of Gama Ride is great. I knew him a long time ago when my daughter (elementary school) and I would visit in Belmont. I lost track of him and just recently found the new location in Bridgepoint. He recognized both me and my now college aged daughter and was wonderful. He has always been about the attractions and games, having mini indoor rides you won't see elsewhere, but in this location he completely built out a custom facility, including a bar with GREAT beer choices and food. Take that Chuck E. Cheese! If you're into trying the latest multiplayer arcade games or rides, stop by, you won't be disappointed!!! Went to the soft-opening of the much-anticipated family entertainment center at the Bridgepointe Shopping Center in San Mateo (it's not in Foster City, but it's close!) called Gama Ride, and I was very impressed. It's located at the eastern-end of the center next to Chess Drive and is situated next to the Ice Rink. Coming soon Next Door is Benihana's (in the old Red Robin), and Chick-Fil-A (in the old Hallmark store). Also opening soon is Nordstrom Rack, add Five Below, Hobby Lobby, Ross, Marshall's, Ulta, Total Wine, World Imports, The Container Store, and Target and you could say that Bridgepointe Shopping Center is having a revival! The malls are back, but with modern tenants. Ok, now onto the review. First, parking is plentiful and the location is really easy to get to from anywhere, it borders the 92/101 freeways and even has an exit/entry nearby, so anyone can come here from anywhere. The building is huge, it's the former site of Scores/Rawlings sports bars and most recently (almost 20 years ago though) Hokkaido Asian buffet. They really went through a lot of time, money, and planning to transform the building into a multi-level, family & adult playground! The place is gorgeous. Brick, hardwood, and high ceilings & dim lights greet you upon entry. You pass through a corridor loaded with some video games and prize games to enter the building and front desk. Here, you can buy a card to load with credits or "tokens" to play your favorite games. Inside, they have many different things & options to keep young and old entertained. Here is a partial list: VR games, arcade games, mini-bowling, laser tag, billiards, skee-ball, shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball, pinball, bumper cars, and a few amazing simulator rollercoaster or adventure rides. There are big projector screens all over the place playing movies, scenes, and even tv playing the Olympics. The ceiling is very high, giving the place a very airy & open feeling, not claustrophobic at all. Most of the electronic games & simulators & skillz games are located downstairs. There is also a bar, dining area for bar food & snacks, and a meeting/party room downstairs. Lots of friendly employees everywhere to assist and guide you too. Moving upstairs, there are two staircases to bring you to a small enclave of pinball games (yes!). There's a shuffleboard table, foosball tables, billiards tables, mini bowling, a boxing simulator, and air hockey upstairs. There is also a nice bird's eye view of the entire center from tables and chairs upstairs, helpful for keeping an eye on your kids or just to people watch. You can also just kick back with a beer or glass of wine and watch the big screen/movies & programs being projected onto the high walls. It's very comfortable here, the wood & brick & dim lighting really make this place feel homey & clean. It also serves to showcase all the dazzling lights of the electronics, it makes them pop! to the eyes. This is what an arcade from the 1980's really felt like (I was there) and they nailed it. I love the overall design and layout of the place and they have a good flow of things to keep the younger children occupied downstairs, while giving some more privacy for adults to gather upstairs to play some older-type games, conversate (it's quieter upstairs vs downstairs) and just relax or drink some alcohol and watch the action. Overall, I really like this place. It's fun, it's wholesome, and it's just what we needed to get families out of the house and away from the TV or computer. There's games, there's food, there's beverages, there's places to hang out, there's places to gather and enjoy company. Speaking of company, I can forsee a lot of tech companies hanging out or renting this spot for after work socials & or team-building activities. All in all, from the moment you drive here, to the moment you park, to the moment you walk in, to the moment you explore, to the moment you find your favorite activity, this place is a great experience. Clean, dynamic, well-laid out, well-planned, well-constructed, well-decorated, and well worth the trip to visit Gama Ride family entertainment center. They were formerly located at Tanforan Shopping Center in San Bruno, but they closed that location to move here. Checked out this spot located in Bridgepoint Plaza. Fun, accessible family entertainment spot. Two stories with pool and bowling upstairs. All games and bar are downstairs. There are a variety of games, including an assortment of video games, VR, pool, bowling, and bumper cars. Ticketed games are available if you want to get prizes. Customer service was amazing from all employees. Had the pleasure of speaking with Massai, KJ, and Jeff went above and beyond when getting cards, machine problems, and prize redemption. For adulting, there is an on-site bar with beer and wine. So get your drinks on while the kids play. Being new, everything was squeaky clean and new. Despite the limited seating option and quite a few games not working due to soft opening unruly patrons, it was a decent spot to hang out. I've been waiting for them to open this arcade and am so glad they finally opened. The entrance is a little hard to find, but you have to walk past the hockey place and walk towards the Main Street to get in. Downstairs they had bumper cars, the reality games/rides, arcade games and the toddler sized games in the entrance area (so great). Upstairs they had pin ball machines, pool table and mini bowling. The food was mediocre, but expected. The wings, sliders and fries were good but the cheese flat bread pizza could use more sauce. Only beer and wine here. The service here was surprisingly great and the wine pours were pretty generous. I want to knock off half a star for their flatbread but we enjoyed everything else. We'll be back! read more

I'm glad someone built this arcade for the area I had great times at the fashion island one back in the day. They have arcade machines, simulators, bumper cars, bowling, pool, and more. The food was on the smaller portion side but it was good. I had the fish n chips and it was pretty good. They also serve alcohol on tap. The environment is very colorful and interesting. All the machines are modern with LEDs everywhere they could put them. It's not a well known spot yet so it's not too crazy but I think it might be soon. read more
