Consider this a mini review as I was only there for a brief time. But it's a cool place. Arcade in the lower floor and VR and karaoke rooms upstairs. Very clean and airy. On the day I was there it was about 80% kids and 20% adults but VR skews a bit older. Check it out.

I'm sure there's night shift people who need to belt it out after a stressful shift or maybe someone who needs that to start their day, but the rates go up as the day goes on. They're open until 1 AM on weekdays and 2 AM on weekends. Probably one of the very few bay area businesses that stay open into the mornight. We got the DAM karaoke system and found pretty much every Japanese song we wanted. However, the search interface was a bit challenging due to our limited Japanese literacy. The lady at the front was super helpful with showing us how to use the tablet and helping us find songs, and we figured it out eventually. Maybe we could have had an easier time and still found our desired songs if we had asked for the English system, but hunting around the hiragana keyboard was half the fun. It was also cool to see how wide the song selection was for each artist we searched. The ambiance feels like you are singing in someone's living room. There's no disco lights or decor, just some couch seats, the TV, and a little table. The barebones aesthetic made it feel relaxed and intimate. The place also seems family friendly, as there were kids practicing piano and other instruments in a different room. We stayed 2.5 hours and were charged for exactly that (no rounding up to another hour, no hidden service fees). Overall, it was a good experience, and I think we'll return but shoot for either the $1/hour/person (7-9am) or $4.99/hour/person (9-11am) slots!

The music room and bathroom were both clean. Audio quality is solid. However, after ruminating on…read morethe experience once we arrived home, several concerns became clear that ultimately deterred me from returning. Pricing was not straightforward or transparent. Upon arriving, we were told that all the rooms were booked and no follow up questions from their end. This remained the same throughout the entirety of the communication. I had to inquire all the questions, thinking I was asking the right ones to know prices and availability. I was wrong. With my questions, the answers I received were: 1) small room would take about 1 hour and 2) medium room would be about 40-45 minutes. Again, no follow up question from them whether which room we want, offering prices for each room, and asking if we wanted to put our name down. I only asked if the medium price would be the same as small, since we only had 2 people. That's something I should have reworded because what I actually wanted to know is how much would it be for 2 people--this was after 9:30 PM, for a medium room. I want to highlight that even though I am responsible for inquiries for clarification, a general rule also uniformly applies for businesses to be upfront with pricing and services for clarification. In short, that was completely absent throughout the interaction. We didn't know better, since we are not usuals at this establishment, which truly did feel that this was intentionally done to upcharge us. At the time, we chose convenience and said we would take whichever room--small or medium, as they stated--became available first. The medium room became available about 15 minutes after we had returned earlier to ask how to get on the "waitlist." Yet again, the process itself was never explained nor openly offered to us. We were informed of the $99/hour charge for the medium room only after being called up to the front desk/food station area, when the staff member was already writing the price on the receipt with a clipboard. This key detail should have been clearly disclosed at the very beginning of the first interaction--way before the signing at the desk to enter the room. My previous paragraphs can be referenced to this. Instead, signing and entering the room was processed as both the very first and final contact/confirmation. Thus, we weren't given any pricing and details prior until our name was called and came to the desk to sign. That is the primary issue: not disclosing the needed information well in advance until signing. Also, to their other review response --if there were management, then it could be with the person overseeing the computer, whom I directed the questions to. Like other reviewers have mentioned (which, in hindsight, we should have read more closely), there was a noticeable lack of transparency. We essentially had to ask every question ourselves in order to get basic information. Even then, the responses were brief and only addressed exactly what we asked--without offering additional context or details that would have helped us fully understand the pricing or process. And that in itself--is dishonest. Deceptive, too. Because of the lack of intent and transparency, we also weren't offered pricing information with the small room at any given point. So for those who wish to visit this establishment, be mindful of the highly, subtle deception. Perhaps you could try and ask directly for the pricing of each room, depending on head count, but who knows if they would provide information in all the extent needed for customers to make an informed decision. The medium room could fit 6-8 people maximum from our perception. The pricing on the website does not provide any room sizing price, or estimation. Just by head count, so essentially, we were being charged for the 9-10 people ($99/hr rate) that is listed on the webpage. Yes, here's the fine print from the website: "RATES & ROOM CAPACITY: The final rate will be based on either room size or total number of people, with the higher rate applied." If the $99/hr charge was purely due to the medium room size, as it did note that a "higher rate may apply," then that would have been understandable--if that information had been deliberately shared to us well in advance before signing. Even then, it becomes much more questionable since it seems that 6-8 people ($79/hr) could be accommodated in a medium size room. If so, then this was an upcharge, given all information had been nebulous. However, the issue I am pointing out here is the extreme lack of transparency and the involuntary manner in how the information was provided before signing. The general answers mentioned above were disclosed only when prompted by our questions, and even then the responses remained consistently evasive and limited. The quote above was already included in this original post. Read the latest response to see how they confirmed their own fradulence. Never was offered a large yet was given one and upcharged.

The bar did not seem very clean/well kept but it was quite busy at the time that we went. The most determinative factor for the 2 star review is the service/employees. Two of my friends had been invited to play a light game of pool with another couple while my friends were waiting to sing karaoke. One of my friends, who was playing pool, did not feel well and had to take a moment. Therefore, he told the other players and stepped out. My other friend asked if it's okay if someone else stepped in to play for the friend who wasn't feeling well and the people who invited them to play got very agitated (there was no money or betting, they were just killing time to wait to sing). They started using profanity and starting problems but the staff did nothing because they knew the customer/they were a regular. Just because you are friends with the staff, that does not mean you can berate people and be extremely rude over a simple game of pool at a karaoke bar. The staff was not helpful and excused their "regular's" actions because she was drunk, so we left without causing problems or trouble. I strongly recommend avoiding this bar if you care about people being safe/respectful.

I was here playing in my APA league and we also got a practice table. At around 10pm a waitlist started to form, Tino came over to take our table away. We politely offered to just pay the regular hourly rate to keep it. He asked how many of us there were. When we said two, he visibly scoffed, acted like that wasn't enough, and told us we would have to pay the rate for four people if we wanted to keep the table. Then, he just took the table away from us anyway. Worse, when I was complaining to my teammates, he started yelling at me, complaining that we had the table for three hours, that his employee hadn't had lunch yet, and that we needed to give it up and get back on the waitlist. His entire attitude was aggressive, and he tried to make me feel like I was in the wrong for simply playing on a table we had legitimately secured. Later, when the league ended around 11pm, the double standard became painfully obvious. Tino came over specifically to shut down our league table, even though several other teams were still practicing on theirs. He completely ignored everyone else and specifically targeted us. I have been playing pool for nearly 20 years, currently shooting as an APA level 7, with a FargoRate of 568, and I know proper pool hall etiquette. I have never been kicked off a table, singled out, or spoken to this way by staff anywhere. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Final words to 946: if you don't want the league to interrupt your business, just don't host it. If you choose to host it, treat the players nicely, as we are customers too.
