Well run and super cute. The biggest compliment I want to give mega claws is that this place is run by a hard working family. They had mom, dad, and junior working the floor and providing the best service. It just felt like they wanted to make sure every kid was having the best time! If you ask really, really, really nicely they even help reposition the prize. Love family owned small businesses like this! Parking is tough so be very patient and careful as you circle the lot. My recommendation is to snag the first spot you see and get lost in the many cute mom and pops that fill this plaza!

Have you ever wonder how some places have high reviews but your experience doesn't match up? Look at the reviewers. Most reviewers here only have 1 reviews with very few sentences written. This place hands out tokens as an incentive to post a review.

My niece wanted to have a girls' day and wanted to attempt to win a Labubu here. We've both never been to Mega Claws, so it was an experience for us both. Walking in, Mega Claws is clean, tidy, and super cute. The girl at the counter was super helpful. I paid with my card so she was able to help me at the counter and my niece pitched in some of her own money for tokens, but in cash. For cash, there's a kiosk that you can use. The kiosk hates $10 bills though, so it took one and kept spitting the other out. But again, the girl at the counter came and helped us out with it. Once we got our tokens, we were on our way. Super optimistic! We even got free little Labubu plushy pins! There are a good amount of machines for the store being on the smaller side. You had options of winning big and tiny plushies and you can trade it in for Labubus. There was a machine where you could win a box of Pokémon cards too. Our time there was short lived and no official Labubu was won, but we had a great time. We'll be back!

Fun experience!!! This place has a good number of claw machines with mixed kinds of cute plush stuffed toys, some Sanrio characters, Stitch, boba, fruits, and animals. They also vary in sizes. Each token is around $1. Most of the regular claw machines need 1 token. While there are some that need 2 to 3. The high ticket claw machines require 5 tokens, that's for Labubu and other blind boxes. You won't come out empty handed. They reposition the toy if you request them to. They also sell merchandise of popular toys and blind boxes. Definitely a place to try. The staff are also friendly and helpful. Hope to go back again soon.

Baseline price starts at $20 for 22 coins. Most claw games are 1 coin to play. Also, they will throw in 5 additional coins if you follow them on instagram and leave them a yelp review. The game itself is very easy to win and if you have trouble winning you can ask the staff for tips or a readjustment of the prize. After $20 I came out with 4 adorable and super soft plushies!

Update: So I gave Mega Claws a second chance and this time, the owner Jonny gave my friends and I some complimentary plays on the machines. I will say I was glad to meet with the owner and try out his machines. As you can see from this photo, we had a great time and, I feel like everyone deserves a second chance to prove to their customers that they can make things right. I'll definitely come back and play again! Shout out to Macey for making our time fun, and enjoyable. She went above and beyond, providing us with great customer service and attention, answering all our questions and helping us "relocate" the plushies to a more user friendly location, for an easier win!

Nice claw arcade in vietnam town. Great entertainment for the plaza which is what its been lacking. The claws are set to win at a reasonable rate, I saw plenty of people winning. But the stuffed animal prizes are relatively low quality. But they do have some unique machines like a 6 claw at once machine. Or a labubu blind box machine. They also have a point system where you can get larger prizes. All in all a fun time for the kids, and a nice addition to the plaza!

Claws didn't feel as strong as Claw Me in Milpitas. Between 3 of us and 44 coins we only managed one mini plushie. Variety of products, but definitely not a lucky day for our group. They had the option to purchase prizes, which was a nice surprise. Photo machine in the back for $8 with some props

I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile from the great reviews and a recommendation from a friend. This place is spacious, well lit, and inviting. They have a token system and the more you purchase, more bonus tokens are given. I recently went to fluffy town in Oakridge and had a mediocre experience. Based on the reviews here, the claw machines seemed more generous with a wider selection. I decided to purchase $50 in tokens which came with 8 bonus tokens. The claw machines seemed identical to the ones from fluffy town - very difficult. 20 minutes in and my $50 in tokens were evaporated only winning one keychain sized stuffed animal - this was even worse than my experience at fluffy town. I would consider myself a moderately capable person in positioning the claws. I then observed the workers offering to reposition the stuffed animals so I decided to approach the front desk person to ask. I purchased another $40 in tokens ($90 invested total). With the help of the worker, we were able to get one regular sized stuffed animal for each of my daughters (I committed one to both). I unfortunately will not be returning here as I had to spend $90 to only to win two regular sized stuffed animals (only happened with the help of the workers) Had they not repositioned it, I would've left empty handed. My advice is to ask the workers for help right upfront. Best of luck and hope you win tons!

New claw machine spot. Cute prizes. My kids enjoyed it! They also have Labubu as prizes!

I am so glad I visited this claw machine store in San Jose!! I have been seeing a few of these places online and was so interested to see if it would be worth the money. It definitely was!! There are a nice variety of plushies and prizes to try for, with some being bigger and costing more tokens. However, the majority of machines can be played for one token. The staff were willing to reposition the plushies to make it easier to grab and did this as many times as we asked which was super helpful! In total, we got 4 plushies with a total of 28 tokens. If you follow on insta and post a yelp pic you get 3 free tokens per person which is super nice too!

This place is very nice!! The selections of plushies range in size and they're all so cute. The workers seem nice; you can ask them to rearrange the plushies so that you have a higher chance of winning, which is very useful. I'm glad they finally opened a claw machine location in Vietnamtown.

Love this place! Lots of claw machines and lots of unique prizes varying from blind boxes to plushies. This will be the new go to place!

I walked into a space that gets loud and warm during busy periods, and cleanliness varied by section, but the overall setup gave my group plenty of options for a few hours of entertainment. The arcade is the strongest part of the offering. I found the selection of rhythm games solid and reasonably well maintained, and the claw and gacha style machines are what Round1 does better than most chain arcades. That said, individual claw machine plays run around four dollars, which adds up quickly if I am playing multiple rounds, and the tension on the machines is inconsistent enough that results feel more variable than skill based. The prize section near those machines tends to run warm compared to the rest of the floor. Racing games, fighting games, and photo booths fill out the rest of the arcade floor, and the overall variety was broad enough to keep my group occupied. Bowling is available but came with some caveats. The ball selection skewed toward smaller finger holes and very heavy options, with limited middle ground, so bringing my own ball would be worth considering if I bowled regularly. Party packages are available and include shoes and games, which streamlines the booking process for larger groups. For a casual group outing, birthday celebration, or evening with a mix of activities on offer, Round1 covers the bases adequately. Going in with realistic expectations about the cost per activity makes the experience more enjoyable. It is not a refined destination, but for what it is, it delivered a fun few hours.

It was extremely stuffy and warm in May, reminding me of a locker room. I definitely wouldn't want to come back during the summer. We won a decent amount of prizes (albeit we spent $240), but the prizes weren't as cute as the ones I've gone to in SoCal either. It was hard finding a machine where I actually wanted the plush or figurine. They also had 6 different machines just dedicated to kuromi, which is great and all but there just wasn't much variety. Hopefully they update their selection and add more skill based machines.

They are held at California Extreme in Santa Clara, Golden Gate Pinball Festival in Lodi and Pin-a-Go-Go in Dixon. California Extreme is not exclusive with Pinball Machines. There are also tons of arcade games for those who enjoy them. We have enjoyed attending these events whenever we're able to. In the past, our work schedules often got in the way. Now that we're retired, our vacation schedules often cause conflicts. The people who run this event have always done a tremendous job of getting others to bring their beloved machines, set on free play, for the masses to play. In return, they get free admission. A substantial number of volunteers are also needed to load-in, load-out, wipe down, perform minor repairs, scorekeepers, registration, check-in, etc., etc. We attend to see Pinball Machines that we've never seen before, to play with machines that are hard to find, to play new machines, but mostly to play in the tournament. Yes, there are cash purses and trophies or plaques to be one. Bragging rights galore! But for players at my level, it's mostly about WPPR Points that affect your International Flipper Pinball Association Ranking. As I write this review, I am 8640 out of 103,576 players in the world. Does it mean anything? Only to my ego. At one time, I was sub-3000. I simply don't play in enough tournaments to keep my ranking. This year's tournament entry fee was $2 per game. That is not particularly expensive BUT there was no limit to the number of entries that one could purchase. This changes that tournament of skill and luck to one of skill, luck and DEEP POCKETS. In my opinion, there should be a single buy-in. Everyone plays the same number of games on the games that are available. Yes, this will reduce the prize money but so what? Whatever happens, happens. If you have a great day, congratulations. If you have a lousy day, better luck next year. But under the unlimited buy-in, you just keep putting out money until you have a few good games to tie together for your final score. What? The tournaments almost over but you're in 11th place and only the first 10 places are in the money. Well, play some more and hope to improve your score and win! Anyway, without the tournament to play in, I will either only attend California Extreme one day only or skip it all together moving forward. Additionally, this year, for the first time, the Hyatt is now charging $40 to park overnight. This was either not disclosed at the time of booking or I somehow missed it. When I complained, it was discounted $20 because I was staying there for California Extreme and another $10 because I'm a Hyatt member. I was told that, "all the other area hotels are charging more for parking and the Hyatt is just trying to catch up." There was a 49ers exhibition game on Saturday, August 19th, and parking was expected to be at a premium and traffic would be a zoo. To counter that, we arrived way early to get a space. We arrived at 8:30 for a 10:00 opening. Because we left the house so early, we didn't have time to eat breakfast, but we had plenty of down time in the hotel (check-in was at 3:00pm), so we opted for breakfast in the hotel (see our review for Evolution). Breakfast Buffet at $28 per person vs Continental Breakfast at $22 per person. So, while California Extreme is still lots of fun, between the costs and the crowds and a Deep Pocket Tournament, it may be time for us to move on.

I don't know if I got lucky with the crew on shift, but the staff were on top of it and made our experience awesome. We got to try everything with our tickets, and even I was able to crawl and run through all the attractions. (I'm a petite adult who works out, if you're larger or have bad knees, you might get stuck.) I paid $38 for me and my niece to play together until more kids showed up. There's also a membership for $25/month (one adult + one child), but you have to commit to at least 3 months. This place was worth every penny. My niece made friends right away and ran around playing until closing at 8 PM. That said, there are a few areas where I think the experience could be even more fun: **1. Bathrooms:** They were a bit of a mess--typical kid chaos, like toilet paper everywhere. Totally expected, but a little more frequent cleaning during peak hours would go a long way. **2. Bazooka Ball:** It took *way* too long to get a game started. Some kids had to leave before it even began, and kids kept asking me, "Is it going to start?" When it finally did, playtime was only 3-5 minutes. That felt rushed, especially after waiting so long. I think it would help to have a set schedule for these games to be posted and spread out throughout the day. It could even be a fun "grand finale" before closing. I get that it takes safety training to run the game, but giving families a clear time to plan around would make a big difference. I can see parents saying after bazooka ball we're going home. Also, I got to play 2times, the guns worked fine the first round--but the second time, mine and my niece's guns were broken. With such a short play window, fiddling with gear that doesn't work really sucked. Before starting a game, someone should test each gun and label the ones that are out of air. That way, every kid gets a fair shot. I'm glad our first round was solid, but I could see a kid being really disappointed if they waited forever, got a broken gun, and then lost. **3. The Tire Slide:** There's a slide in other reviews where kids sit on a tire and roll down a long, fast track. We were so excited to try it--my niece hauled that heavy tire up the stairs, ready to fly--but when she sat on it, nothing happened. It just... stopped. No roll at all. I don't know if they changed the flooring, but it's a huge letdown. That slide was a major selling point for us, and it didn't deliver. I get that speed could be a liability, but even a slight roll would make the climb feel worth it. We all sign the waiver--some fun and freedom here would go a long way. **4. The Ball Pit:** My niece tried to cannonball in--only to find out it's not even full. Just a floor with maybe half an inch of balls, giving the illusion it's deep. She didn't get seriously hurt, but she did hurt her leg jumping in. We sat and watched other kids do the same thing--one after another--slowly realizing the pit wasn't safe for jumping. At trampoline parks, they mix foam blocks in with the balls so kids can jump and swim around safely while staying on top. It also helps staff see everyone and prevents accidents. I think adding something like that would make the ball pit way more fun and way less risky. --- **Things included with your ticket:** - Maze - Trampoline - Jumpy House - Bazooka Ball - Mini Golf - Rock Climbing - All slides **Extras (cost extra):** - Food & water - Arcade games - Claw & candy games They even have a toddler area--secluded and locked off from the bigger kids. Perfect for little ones to roam freely and have a blast. **Suggestions for an even cooler experience:** A game card--like at Chuck E. Cheese--where you can play arcade games unlimited for a set time (starting when you swipe) would be a game-changer. It would keep the energy going and give families more value. Even without the changes I highly recommend this indoor park. I can see this playground getting old after a few times but for my first time here this place was lit and there was a birthday party going on so there was more kids playing hide and seek and tag it was a good time.
