Hidden gem, great prices, good sound system, interesting facility, ran by a Japanese family. A friend of mine told me that this place also serves as storage for the restaurant next door, gochi, and starts to make sense on why there's so much random boxes on the side. Not the most upscale place, but I think it adds to the charm.

This was our first time going to a karaoke venue with separate rooms. The front desk and inside could use a bit more organization because we almost thought we were walking into an abandoned office. We were greeted by the front desk employee, and he was very friendly, and he helped us get set up with our room. It almost looks like this place used to be. A therapy, dental, or some type of social services office. Either way, we had a good time once we got to the room and sang our hearts away! We hope the owners can update the rooms. It would be great if we had a disco ball and some blue or colored lights in the room. This place has so much more potential for Instagram moments. FYI. The rooms are not sound proof, so other guests can probably hear you as they walk by, and there are windows in the room. Also, there can be a lot of feedback if you're sitting too close together using two mics and/or too close to the speakers.

My kids love too sing. There's no better place to take them than Gamba Karaoke. Since my kids are too young for late night karaoke, we went during the morning, during off peak hours which was super cheap. They have good selection of Japanese and American songs. They have serveral rooms. The room is nothing to rave about, furniture is outdated. Which was fine. It was a affordable activity. They do sell snacks or bring your own snack.

We got a really ghetto room super stuffy but equipped with a fan for air.

The music room and bathroom were both clean. Audio quality is solid. However, after ruminating on…read morethe experience once we arrived home, several concerns became clear that ultimately deterred me from returning. Pricing was not straightforward or transparent. Upon arriving, we were told that all the rooms were booked and no follow up questions from their end. This remained the same throughout the entirety of the communication. I had to inquire all the questions, thinking I was asking the right ones to know prices and availability. I was wrong. With my questions, the answers I received were: 1) small room would take about 1 hour and 2) medium room would be about 40-45 minutes. Again, no follow up question from them whether which room we want, offering prices for each room, and asking if we wanted to put our name down. I only asked if the medium price would be the same as small, since we only had 2 people. That's something I should have reworded because what I actually wanted to know is how much would it be for 2 people--this was after 9:30 PM, for a medium room. I want to highlight that even though I am responsible for inquiries for clarification, a general rule also uniformly applies for businesses to be upfront with pricing and services for clarification. In short, that was completely absent throughout the interaction. We didn't know better, since we are not usuals at this establishment, which truly did feel that this was intentionally done to upcharge us. At the time, we chose convenience and said we would take whichever room--small or medium, as they stated--became available first. The medium room became available about 15 minutes after we had returned earlier to ask how to get on the "waitlist." Yet again, the process itself was never explained nor openly offered to us. We were informed of the $99/hour charge for the medium room only after being called up to the front desk/food station area, when the staff member was already writing the price on the receipt with a clipboard. This key detail should have been clearly disclosed at the very beginning of the first interaction--way before the signing at the desk to enter the room. My previous paragraphs can be referenced to this. Instead, signing and entering the room was processed as both the very first and final contact/confirmation. Thus, we weren't given any pricing and details prior until our name was called and came to the desk to sign. That is the primary issue: not disclosing the needed information well in advance until signing. Also, to their other review response --if there were management, then it could be with the person overseeing the computer, whom I directed the questions to. Like other reviewers have mentioned (which, in hindsight, we should have read more closely), there was a noticeable lack of transparency. We essentially had to ask every question ourselves in order to get basic information. Even then, the responses were brief and only addressed exactly what we asked--without offering additional context or details that would have helped us fully understand the pricing or process. And that in itself--is dishonest. Deceptive, too. Because of the lack of intent and transparency, we also weren't offered pricing information with the small room at any given point. So for those who wish to visit this establishment, be mindful of the highly, subtle deception. Perhaps you could try and ask directly for the pricing of each room, depending on head count, but who knows if they would provide information in all the extent needed for customers to make an informed decision. The medium room could fit 6-8 people maximum from our perception. The pricing on the website does not provide any room sizing price, or estimation. Just by head count, so essentially, we were being charged for the 9-10 people ($99/hr rate) that is listed on the webpage. Yes, here's the fine print from the website: "RATES & ROOM CAPACITY: The final rate will be based on either room size or total number of people, with the higher rate applied." If the $99/hr charge was purely due to the medium room size, as it did note that a "higher rate may apply," then that would have been understandable--if that information had been deliberately shared to us well in advance before signing. Even then, it becomes much more questionable since it seems that 6-8 people ($79/hr) could be accommodated in a medium size room. If so, then this was an upcharge, given all information had been nebulous. However, the issue I am pointing out here is the extreme lack of transparency and the involuntary manner in how the information was provided before signing. The general answers mentioned above were disclosed only when prompted by our questions, and even then the responses remained consistently evasive and limited. The quote above was already included in this original post. Read the latest response to see how they confirmed their own fradulence. Never was offered a large yet was given one and upcharged.

Edit: While I appreciate the reply from the business owner, none of these points were communicated…read moreto me or my partner. In spite of multiple reviews warning of the exact same issue regarding predatory pricing, the fact that this continues to be an issue while policy is only clarified in the replies of Yelp business reviews means that there is no serious consideration to review feedback or address our concerns in any meaningful way. If the customer has to make multiple inquiries as to what the pricing structure is without any upfront information such as what the business owner provided, then that policy only exists in fine print as insurance for the business' benefit. This is especially true because in this case, you cannot find what the rate for a room is on their website, and this policy was never communicated at any point of our interaction. I could appreciate the fact that pricing was agreed upon before we signed and went to our room, but that's only because that singular piece of information was never conveyed beforehand and which would have given us the opportunity to make a different decision. Because of this, I actually now recommend people stay away from this establishment and take their money elsewhere. My partner and I had a very unpleasant experience from this place because we were up charged for a room for 8-10 people at the rate of $99/hr, in spite of there being lower rates for smaller groups at ~$70 or even lower (which are available on their website). However, this being our first time, we weren't made aware that there were different pricing tiers and were led to believe that there were only two rates available by room size alone from small to medium. We were told upfront that there would be an hour-long wait for a small room, so we wanted to take the next available room that came up, which was a "medium-sized room." I know we aren't usuals there and therefore a business-decision was probably made to give us the most expensive rate to extract the most value possible from an unsuspecting couple, I found the practice to leave a bad taste. Beware of being given false time estimates and rates by the man who works there. It was disappointing to be taken advantage of in this way, so we advise looking into their rates first before going into this place. I get that we shouldn't have expected to pay the rate for 1-2 people because we chose a bigger room, but it also doesn't justify getting led into paying more simply because we didn't know any better.

You cant really find a skewer place with this type of vibe, def a spot i like to take my out of town friends to for a good time I love getting the fried tofu skins, this is my favorite skewer to get. I actually prefer the regular skewers than the mini skewers just because the mini is so small you have to really bite into the metal stick (which can stab your mouth if your not careful, especially if you end up drinking too much) razor clams are bomb here! Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

This place has such fun decorations and I love all the neon lights here as it's very well lit up inside. My top 3 favorite skewers are the beef, enoki, and a-choy. They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Even though I did not enjoy half of the drinks, this is probably the most fun drinking concept I've seen at a restaurant and I'd absolutely order it again. The ambiance, customer service, and food are always all great - I'll never say no to dinner a Discovery!

I was here playing in my APA league and we also got a practice table. At around 10pm a waitlist started to form, Tino came over to take our table away. We politely offered to just pay the regular hourly rate to keep it. He asked how many of us there were. When we said two, he visibly scoffed, acted like that wasn't enough, and told us we would have to pay the rate for four people if we wanted to keep the table. Then, he just took the table away from us anyway. Worse, when I was complaining to my teammates, he started yelling at me, complaining that we had the table for three hours, that his employee hadn't had lunch yet, and that we needed to give it up and get back on the waitlist. His entire attitude was aggressive, and he tried to make me feel like I was in the wrong for simply playing on a table we had legitimately secured. Later, when the league ended around 11pm, the double standard became painfully obvious. Tino came over specifically to shut down our league table, even though several other teams were still practicing on theirs. He completely ignored everyone else and specifically targeted us. I have been playing pool for nearly 20 years, currently shooting as an APA level 7, with a FargoRate of 568, and I know proper pool hall etiquette. I have never been kicked off a table, singled out, or spoken to this way by staff anywhere. Absolutely unacceptable customer service.
