Went to the planetarium for a field trip. The show was so underwhelming. In a nutshell? Disappointing. At this point in time, there's so much more that technology is capable of creating and showing. They played 2 shows for us, shows which couldn't have possibly been created later than 2005. The visuals are so dated & again, underwhelming. My camera is not the best in dark environments, but you can see how disappointing the visuals are. The dated computer graphics of the world were cringe. Especially considering how beautiful it COULD have looked? The planets were similar a dated graphic. I'm sure it could have been impressive to a six-year-old, but still. I saw Interstellar in IMAX a few months ago. That was a completely superior visual experience by far. Kids deserve beautiful things too. I've also been to this planetarium for the laser show they create for different musicians. It's a cool experience, not worth the money, & similarly underwhelming. They just draw colorful outlines & project them in rhythm to the music. Interesting, but not worth the time or money after one experience in my opinion.

This was a great experience. I have been to a few of these lazer light shows but this one was spectacular. It was inexpensive, clean and a excellent time. If they allowed in snacks that would of been the icing on the cake.

I have always loved planetariums from when I was a kid and love astronomy. I find it spiritual to learn more space and it really puts things like day to day problems into context. I am thankful and happy that there is a small (but good_ planetarium in this area. The employees are great and clearly love what they do.

Came here for the first time with my daughter's 2nd grade field trip for the Magic Treehouse show. The topics of space, space travel and astronomy were presented at the right level for our 2nd grade group. The kids stayed engaged throughout. The interactive lesson they got on astronomy was also very engaging. Would love to go back and check out some of their other shows they have with the entire family.

I've actually never been to this planetarium show before and I know my son came on a school field trip here when he was in elementary school and he loved it. I was really excited to check it out and was surprised I didn't get nauseous during this particular planetarium show, and yet when I went to, the tech museums dome show I get nauseous. I was really relaxed and incredibly comfortable in there small theater with the recliner chairs, and the lady asking all the questions and putting on the shelf was incredibly insightful and friendly, as well as being patient with the children that shouted out. I would definitely say this is an experience for every family to go to and maybe even a date night if you had a kid involved? Lol very interesting although magic treehouse theme, but it was easy to follow since I remember reading these books to my son when he was little. Great show and Great host!! Hee

The laser shows are LIT. Came for the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon show. They warned us that they would be using a fog machine, but we had just come from my car, which was basically the same thing. Jan 13, 2018 was the first use of their new machine, so I guess the lasers are even more lasery. The Sgt. Pepper show was not as awesome. By the end, it felt like it started twenty years ago today. The Journey show was better. Michael Jackson started right on time: when the big hand touched the little hand. What cannot be missed is the J-Walt shows, which he performs live, best described as a symmetrical, spirographic, virtual-reality acid trip within a synchronized swimmer's lucid dream inside a video game. A great time for $7-9 ($3 parking), one of those rare events that is perfect for a group of friends, families including kids, or a date night. When not mesmerizing, hypnotic, or trippy, it was at the very least relaxing. That is, if you find seizures relaxing. Tips: bring a hoodie because it gets cold, and if you're not cold you can use it for a headrest. The parking machine is testy with cards so bring ones.

Where in the Bay Area can you see a full night sky of stars?... at 3pm? The DeAnza PLANETARIUM of course?! :-) http://www.deanza.edu/planetarium/ This place rocks. I have Astronomy class in this cozy little building and can you believe, the cool features distract me from the work and math of Astronomy. LoL I was hooked during my first class when the professor showed us the 3Dish galaxy presentation. They recently renovated the building and installed the Infinium S star projector, 'which allows you to enjoy the night sky as never before.' The building offers, 'a new inner dome, seating, interiors and Full Dome Digital Projection system are also part of our new Planetarium.' Cool things - they have public shows on Saturday nights that will start again in October. You can also take 'field trips' with groups of kids for day showings. COOLEST THING - If you want 'parent of the year award'... you can RENT THE PLANETARIUM for your child's birthday party!!! Whoa, how cool is that? Wedding, anniversary or other parties are also hosted sometimes. Funny note - these bathrooms also won 'best De Anza bathrooms'. LoL Yes, they're clean. The whole facility is cool, comfortable and clean. No food, gum or drink allowed... unless you've rented it out. PS - use parking lot E, on the backside of the campus and purchase a 2$ parking pass! http://www.planetarium.fhda.edu/info/PLT%20map6-07%20copy.pdf See ya there!

First up parking is $ 3.00, pay at the machines and place the receipt on your dashboard. Having never been here before, I didn't really know what to expect. Walking in from the main parking lot I didnt know which way to go and there were not really any signs pointing to this place. So I followed my GPS dot on my phone and found it. It was a small building with a small guest shop as you walk in. Walk around the bend then go into the dome theater. Roughly 6 -7 rows with a star projector in the center. Saw stars and constellations, and sunrise and sunset simulations in the giant 360 degree dome screen. A great learning experience as I dont know much about the subject. Also saw a cartoon about weather and the kabooby ruby. lol I heard they have laser shows and movie type performances. The locals tell me its been here for a while. This place is cool to try, but not go everyday..

Celestial updates constantly play on the screen in the outside lobby

The Fujitsu Planetarium is located in the center of De Anza Community College. It's a dome shaped structure that showcases it's giant screen and lasers. I haven't experienced the lasers because unfortunately; in Astronomy 101, they mostly show old videos of VHS quality which is very disappointing and boring. When they do use the entire dome screen to its' fullest it's enthralling. We saw this solar system presentation which shows all the galaxies, stars, and planets (HA! I actually learned something when I wasn't sleeping in their cozy seats) that was interesting. In conclusion it's pretty cool for anyone interested in planetariums.

Fun gift shop to peruse. I opted for a glitter wand.

I received an immediate confirmation and additional info, like parking, etc., which I appreciated. They also texted a reminder 24 hours ahead. Parking was a breeze and their lot wasn't full, but that may have been due to it being a dreary Sunday in April. The grounds are nice and we enjoyed walking around a bit before our tour. Lots of vibrant flowers and everything appeared well cared for. There was a private wedding party going on, so some of the grounds were blocked off. Our tour guide, Savanna, was very knowledgeable and seemed to really understand and care about the history of the house. The only problem we had was the size of the group we were put in. Most of the rooms are quite small, as are the hallways and staircases. We couldn't all fit in the room to hear her speak so missed some of what she said. There was another group right behind us, and sometimes I could hear that guide better than my own. They offer discounts for seniors and kids 12 and under, but otherwise is a bit pricey at $48 for adults to spend an hour walking through the house. I was disappointed that none of the furnishings are original. It's just been staged with furniture from the approximate period. We also paid for the basement access, and at $13 each (no discounts) it was an absolute waste. Very little to see there. It's just a basement. The cafe was closed while we were there, which was disappointing. Interesting to read about Sarah Winchester and her house, but not really worth the price to visit.

I was particularly impressed by the works of Steve Dellicarpini, one of which explored the impact of AI, utilizing ChatGPT and a grid of fans and lights. Another one of his pieces, The Book of Donald (Fifth Gospel of the Apocrypha), appeared as scripture sitting atop a golden toilet, the sculpture representing the twisted messages of social media posts. I was also amused by Shannon Wright's Partner in Crime: Commemorating a Decade of Swiping Left in Silicon Valley, showcasing a C-print image filled with words associated with online dating, set up like scrabble tiles.
