We had the BEST time with Chill Theaters for our pets-and-PJs movie and game night! The whole experience couldn't have been easier. The theater pulled right up to our house, and everything was set for an amazing night. From the snacks to the air conditioning to the comfy seats, it truly felt like a private movie theater--just for us! Everyone had an absolute blast (pets included), and we can't wait to book again. Highly recommend Chill Theaters for a fun, unique, and stress-free night in! Pro tip - Get the add ons and bring some of your favorite snacks to make the night epic!

Amazing experience for my daughter's birthday party. It was stressful to have a big birthday party for her every year. So this year we decided to go small and she enjoyed it a lot and it was a fancy experience for her. Place is clean and they even provided some drinks and snacks for the kids. Highly recommend!

Are you thinking about doing this? Book now! Totally worth it. Driver came on time and was helpful. He was around for questions but left us along. Had the truck out for a random Monday half day and from school and filled it with snacks and tweens. They had so much fun, and then I let the littles have some time with the moms. Will book again! Such a cool idea.

We had a super experience! Booking was as simple as reserving a time. Sean was in communication with me prior and happily accommodated requests for movies. We live in an apartment and Chill Theaters was such a nice way to host a teen birthday in a spacious and well appointed theater on wheels. The kids had their privacy and all the media options you could want. I think this is a great option for sporting, or say watching the Oscars, or hosting a game tournament without needing to open your home to guests. We ordered pizza because-teens, but Chill Theaters did have a well stocked snack and beverage situation, plus fridges and a microwave. The restroom is very spacious and nicely kept. The driver Javi arrived well in advance of our start time and set everything up for us. He was really personable and helpful (the girls noted he also has perfect skin). A stellar experience all the way! We had so much fun. Excellent customer service.

I brought a couple of bags of popcorn and used the microwave to pop them but chill theater provided the cool popcorn boxes

It was really a fun experience, the set up inside was nice and chill and there are so many options from gaming to Netflix'n and chillin def would like to do it again and have a few more friends come. One thing I do recommend is to have a larger variety of snacks and drinks available to choose from. I'm thinking about booking it for my birthday in July 2024

Parking is easy due to the neighboring parking structure. Do keep in mind that parking is validated for a few hours- just make sure you make your way to the information desk to input your license plate info. Seating is comfortable- allowing patrons to recline and heat up your chairs. Best of all, each seat has its own table- great for kids and for huge snackers! CineArts is well kept and always clean during my visits. The concession stand offers alcoholic drinks, hot foods, popcorn, candies, and sugary beverages. Hot dogs, popcorn, and the pizzas are great- chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks are trash. Don't bother getting the tenders or mozz sticks unless you like it dry and hard. 5/5 stars overall. Tickets are pricey but i guess everything is nowadays. Idk about you but I'd rather spend my money on a place that guarantees comfortability and cleanliness.

It was a nightmare and before I get into why let me first say I absolutely LOVED seeing the Odyssey in a normal theater. From the start with the Tech's Dome there were issues. We arrived 33 minutes early and already it seemed that there were 3/4 of the people the theater could fit in line. We waited for about 20 minutes in the summer heat to get in. They let us in before the movie started. Went to get seats first since they aren't assigned and they were the worst movie theater seats I've seen in years! Crammed like sardines. I fly often for work and am more comfortable riding coach on a plane. Then I went to get popcorn and water and the line was so long with just one register. By the time I got into the theater the movie was nearly 10 minutes in ... and they had a bunch of people still in line behind me. Now the worst of it... You can't see a damn thing in the Dome. Forget about sitting high up - that wasn't even the issue. It was that the movie was blurry and especially blurry if there was quick movement - and this is an action movie! I knew what was coming and how it was supposed to look since I had seen it a few weeks previously and I could barely make out what was happening. I felt bad for my friend I invited who hadn't yet seen the movie. He had the line of the night as we walked out: "Well.. it seemed like it was a dope movie"... You see a movie like this at the Dome and you'll get robbed of actually SEEING the movie. Just don't do it. Oh and when it was over they let the first credit of directed by Christopher Nolan come on screen then abruptly cut the music and announced on the PA system how to exit the theater

Every screening feels less like a cinema experience and more like an sociological study in basic human failure. You get to enjoy a constant, relentless soundtrack of wet, open-mouthed chewing, manic wrapper-shredding, and mindless, droning dialogue from people who evidently lack an internal monologue. It takes a special kind of ignorance to sit in a dark room with two hundred strangers and act like you're alone in your living room, yet Mercado 20 consistently attracts the absolute elite of that demographic. Management seems content to let the auditorium revert to a dark cave of barbarism without lifting a finger, even when complaints are dropped right in their lap. I'm glad that they've been around for so long now and it's a great spot for new movie opening nights & even foreign films at times. I think they have made improvements to the public restrooms and seats are usually comfortable with heat option as needed. Concession area is grand with AMC foods and beverages/not cheap in prices though. Yes, it's such a popular movie theater location that waiting for foods and beverages can take awhile sometimes, but it's mostly straightforward here. Like it better to have food right away and not to have it delivered to seats avoid distractions if servers walking back and forth. Before the featured movie started the message was loud and clear to silence phones and put them away so the lights coming from phone avoids distraction. Also we are encouraged to tell on the people not following the rules. So I ordered the bottomless popcorn. About 45 minutes in the movie, we were low in popcorn. No one came to refill. I was not able to get a few of the servers attention to get the refill. I was told that the only way is to scan the code again and ask for refill. The big problem with this is the theater was very dark and my phone couldn't read the code. Also, we were told to put our phone away once the movie started ‍. I was afraid it would be packed, but there weren't too many people, thankfully! The theater is a little dated, but the seats were comfortable and we got there early enough to have our choice of seats. What peeved me were the people who had no movie manners and kept getting up when the tastings started to get beer or snacks. There were also people coming in and out during the movie. It was distracting, but expected I guess. Once the movie ended, the tastings were at full swing. We got to taste almost all the beers before going to the next movie and they were great! It was wonderful to taste and learn about truly local breweries that we had no idea existed. Among our favorites were Uncommon Brewers and No Name Hard Cider. We were disappointed with the artisinal snacks as it was a small sampling of snacks and felt guilted into buying something for sampling - I have to add that they were not cheap! IDREAMOFCOOKIES for example had super cute and tasty cookies for sale as well as pandan waffles for $6 -that's a rip off compared to the comparable waffles at Grand Century for $1.50! I liked that Groupfies was there offering photobooth photos for $1-2. I loved all their props! It would have been cool to see more vendors other than food and drink. Overall, we had a good time and would definitely consider coming back next year. Some attendees did need a code of conduct though!

This year, I've been doing a lot of community events because I've been away form the area for years. Last fall, I volunteered at the food bank. I wanted to do more, but there was my acclimation to the weather plunge, the presence of actual humidity and I had to unpack from the move, reuniting me with things I hadn't made eye contact with in years from storage. When the weather wants to cooperate, I look for any excuse to shake off my cabin fever, unfortunately I don't have the money and limited means to do the expensive attractions and concerts in the bay area. It's like being on the teenager entertainment circuit again, at least I can buy a beer and stay out til the sun rises? Utilize strengths. Like the Thursday concert in the park series, I was pleasantly surprised how many people showed up for the events. I admit it's because it was my first time to either, so I had no basis of comparison. But with each I paid attention to what people said about past events and consistency of quality. The premise sounded good to me, a free outdoors movie projected onto a big screen in the middle of the blocked off San Pedro between Santa Clara and St. John, every 2nd and 4th Wednesday for the summer. There are 2 other event areas I have yet to go to, but I'm looking forward to: 2) Post between market and first every 3rd Wednesdays for the summer and 3) so. 1st and Williams St. parking lot twice, one July 6th for Big Lebowski (?!?!?!) and Aug 31st with Zombie-o-Rama 3 WITH zombie crawl! Check out the schedule on the web page link, the other ones I want to go to are: Spaceballs, because I honestly never met anyone on the 501st Leigon, as big a fan as I was of Star Wars (I have a collection that can fill... an antique mall booth), and Swingers, a monumental movie that was a major influence on me moving to Vegas and Viva Las Vegas. It was one of the other movies that influenced me. When I showed up, things begin at 7PM Pacific (international force of habit) and the movie "at dusk." I thought the food setups were nice, great variety from neighboring restaurants. I was happy to see there it wasn't a national chain brainwashing. There were maybe 100+ plastic chairs setup, so people are encouraged to come early or bring their own folding chairs which they did. I really need to get organized on that, but I also like "working the room" instead of sitting in one place for too long. I need to invest in a good folding chair, I had an excellent folding couch for 2, but it suffered sun damage after I left it out on the patio one long Vegas summer. Damn, that was my drive ins couch, too. They had trivia, live blues music (one of my favorites!). People were dancing with the movie! audience participation that rivals rocky horror without the props. It was a great environment. There's always things going on which made a great night out. I have to include a mini review of Blues Brothers. This isn't one great movie, but 40+ segments of the greatest epic events in American cinema. And I say that because this movie was before CGI or resting on blue/green screen effects. The stuff in this movie REALLY happened, using exaggerated, in- camera optical effects and editing. This movie goes over the top with a cast of literally thousands of extras in all kinds of different environments. There are things filmed that have never been done before or since. Just about every non-musician involved hasn't done anything since that could compare. It features a lot more music besides blues that is inspired by it (country, gospel, lounge, 50's rock); It has the only and best trashing of a mall in cinema history (a poignant commentary on consumerism), it makes new generations aware of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, John Lee hooker, Cab Calloway, that we know are legendary now. It has the best celebrity cameos, best obscure product placement (cheez whiz, Orange Whips); It trashes hundreds of police cars that made Guiness book of Records; Richard Daley Plaza filled with more military presence than Libya during this administration; The 25th anniversary DVD has the making of that is more epic than Heart of Darkness.
